2Numerical research on the 3D fiber orientation distribution in arbitrary planar flows显示文摘The fiber orientation distribution in a fiber suspension flow was investigated by a finite difference scheme in spherical coordinates. The diffusivity was transformed between Cartesian and spherical coordinates through tensor analysis to obtain efficiency. 3ON INSTABILITY OF DILUTE FIBER SUSPENSIONS IN AN AXISYMMETRIC TAYLOR-COUETTE FLOW显示文摘A stability analysis of flow between two coaxial rotating cylinders in the presence of fibers was performed. Based on the axisymmetric normal mode for the disturbances, a modified stability equation was derived. Then the numerical solution of the eigenvalue problem about the equation was obtained using the fo urth order finite difference scheme. The marginal curves that determine the inst ability property were drawn. The results show that the flow instability of the d ilute fiber suspensions is governed by the aspect ratio of fiber H, the incr ement of H causes an increase of critical inner Reynolds number.
