1Innovative Light Therapy:2.Determination of the Biological Contribution of Fullerene,as a Converter of Polarized Light,on a Model of Formalin-Induced Pain显示文摘Introduction:Our previous studies on the formalin pain model have shown that halogen polarized light converted by fullerene produces a significant antinociceptive effect. It was installed for applications on the locus of pain or acupuncture points(AP).Our goal was to study the characteristics of analgesic reactions of animals under the influence of different wavelength ranges of halogen and fullerene light and to identify the contribution of fullerene component in reducing inflammatory pain depending on the spectrum, power density and illuminance. Methods:The experiments were performed on mice with an artificially created locus of inflammatory somatic pain(formalin test). The light source was Bioptron-MedAll device equipped with a halogen lamp.In separate series(80 animals in total)we studied the effect of light transmitted through fullerene filters(based on CR39 or PMMA)on the pain intensity and non-painful behavioral reactions when it was applied to the pain locus or to the AP E-36.Analgesic effects were compared with data obtained under the action of polychromatic(480+nmand 320+nm)light or 3 placebo light options, taking into account physical characteristics of the filters. Results:It was found that fullerene light gave the best analgesic effect regardless of the type of filter substance(PMMA or CR39).When fullerene light(CR39 filter)was applied to the pain locus, analgesia was 34.3%.An analgesic reaction was also detected during its action on the AP E-36,32.6%,while the halogen polychromatic light was weaker(16.2%).The light passing through the fullerene+PMMA filter when applied to the pain locus alleviated pain by 29.8%.Polychromatic light application produced analgesia of 480+nm was 23.2%,and 320+nm,14.4%.All placebo variants were less effective, although analgesia also occurred:25.3%(CR39 fullerene free),24.9%(PMMA fullerene free),and 27.7%(color copy of fullerene filter spectrum). The biological effectiveness of the studied light variants, estimated by the intensity of pain syndrome, correlated mostly with the power density and the wavelength range of light.Fullerene filters convert PL almost in the same way, with a similar analgesic result, but the biological effect of fullerene+CR39 light is more noticeable. Conclusion:Fullerene modified light, compared to halogen, has the greatest analgesic efficacy against formalin-induced pain. This result is achieved by the sorption of frequencies of the blue part of the spectrum by fullerene and depression of the power of the visible spectrum as a whole.Sergiy AGulyar Zynaida ATamarova 2020Journal of US-China Medical Science2020,17,2:1
2Innovative Light Therapy: 3. Correction of the Acute Viral Respiratory Diseases Using Biophysical Capabilities of Bioptron-PILER-Light (Review)显示文摘The review contains information about a new therapeutic technology-light therapy, using Bioptron devices for the treatment of acute viral respiratory diseases including COVID-19.It is based on the use of a biophysical factor that weakens the course of the main pathological process:polarized polychromatic light(PL)with an infrared component. There are described mechanisms of correction of disorders at the expense of local cellular effects and systemic effects through the influence on blood structures and acupuncture points. The positive contribution of PL applications to the airways during infection with high doses of influenza virus has been experimentally proven. There are described changes in immune variables, indicating the possibility of using percutaneous blood photo-modification to correct inflammatory processes, lipid peroxidation in erythrocyte membranes and plasma, and improve the rheological properties of blood.Evidence has been found that PL treatment in combination with other immunotropic drugs helps to restore immunological variables and reduce associated allergic reactions. It is revealed the effectiveness of combined therapy by PL and antioxidants. In this case, the bronchial passability increased, the compensation of bronchial hyperreactivity improved, the respiratory moisture release and the content of immunoglobulins A and G in the blood serum increased. The combined use of PL and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic(ibuprofen)has also proved to be effective. The results of a comparative study indicate that the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of PL are comparable to the effect of moderate doses of this drug, and their combined use is more effective in suppressing pain than an isolated analgesic of the same dose.It is confirmed the presence of biological responses arising from the application of PL to receptor zones(acupuncture points)sensitive to electromagnetic signals.By studying the responses to acute, tonic and visceral pain in animals, statistically significant analgesia was revealed after PL stimulation of acupuncture points.Application of PL to biologically active or indifferent areas in humans has shown the advantage of areas related to acupuncture. This expands the therapeutic possibilities arising from the use of active zones and allows obtaining reliable clinical results in patients with respiratory diseases. The possibility of using the monochromatic and fullerene PL ranges has been experimentally substantiated.Among the personal protective equipment for the eyes of patients during light procedures, especially children,it is advisable to reduce the visual light load and protect the eyes by using glasses with fullerene filters. This review is the evidence of testing polychromatic polarized light capabilities with a positive result, which is the basis for the inclusion of PL-therapy techniques in the protocol schemes for the prevention and treatment of acute viral respiratory diseases.Sergiy A.Gulyar 2020Journal of US-China Medical Science2020,17,6:1
3Ocular Influence of Nano-modified Fullerene Light:3.Speed and Quality of Visual Information Processing in Man显示文摘Introduction:A new way of converting light radiation is based on the assumption that it is possible for fullerene C60 molecules to influence it.Physical calculations indicate that in this case there are prerequisites for changing the configuration of the quantum-wave structure of the light flux(hyperharmonization). Our previous studies revealed a possibility of obtaining biological responses to the light reorganized by fullerene. We investigated the effect of application of hyperharmonized light through the organ of vision on the neural structures of the brain associated with it.Transformation of the light was created by using glasses with fullerene filters(THE■-glasses).The purpose of this work was to establish whether the light that passed through the fullerene-containing filters installed in glasses affects mental performance of a person;in particular, the speed and quality of performing visual-motor tasks similar to those performed by a person using a computer. Methods:We selected eighteen clinically healthy volunteer participants of both sexes aged from 10 to 78 years with computer skills. In the study we used specially made glasses, the filters of which contained 0.33‰of fullerene in polymethylmethacrylate(Tesla Hyperlight Eyewear■;THE■-glasses),as well as glasses with darkened filters and a frame of similar design(placebo). The spectrum of light that came into the eyes of the participant was natural(intact light, control)or with a weakened blue spectrum, the wave range of which started from^420 nm(fullerene light, placebo light). The participants’mental performance was assessed according to the results of specially designed tests:black-white and color tests of digital sorting and the correction test(simple and of increased complexity).Testing was conducted in 3 series:without glasses in natural light(intact light),in glasses with fullerene-containing filters(fullerene light)and in glasses of similar light transmission, but without fullerene(placebo light). The quality control of tests and the calculation of psycho-physiological indicators were performed automatically using the processing program built into the test. The obtained data were processed statistically. Results:It was established that under the action of light passing through filters containing fullerene installed in the glasses, the execution time of the visual-motor task was reduced by 16.5%(for the black-white digital sorting test),and the number of errors by 2.7 times(in color digital sorting test)compared to testing with intact lighting.Apparently, the fullerene light positively influenced the speed of information processing and attentiveness.A simple correction test with presentation of 2,000 characters showed that when being in THE■-glasses(fullerene light),the fatigue significantly decreased compared to testing with intact light or placebo light. The concentration ratio in fatigue conditions(end of testing)decreased by 16.2%(fullerene light),by 28.5%(placebo light)and by 23.6%(intact light). The speed of information processing and the percentage of concentration in THE■-glasses were higher, and the latent period of the reaction was shorter than with intact or placebo lighting. All this indicates that the light passing through the fullerene filters of THE■-glasses increases the efficiency of information processing. Conclusion:It has been established that the effect of light passing through a fullerene filter on the visual analyzer and the structures of the central nervous system has a positive effect on the mental performance of a person.Sergiy A.Gulyar Zynaida A.Tamarova Evgeny K.Kirilenko 2019Journal of US-China Medical Science2019,16,3:1
