1Optothermal dynamics in whispering-gallery microresonators显示文摘Optical whispering-gallery-mode microresonators with ultrahigh quality factors and small mode volumes have played an important role in modern physics.They have been demonstrated as a diverse platform for a wide range of applications in photonics,such as nonlinear optics,optomechanics,quantum optics,and information processing.Thermal behaviors induced by power build-up in the resonators or environmental perturbations are ubiquitous in high-quality-factor whispering-gallery-mode resonators and have played an important role in their operation for various applications.In this review,we discuss the mechanisms of laser-field-induced thermal nonlinear effects,including thermal bistability and thermal oscillation.With the help of the thermal bistability effect,optothermal spectroscopy and optical nonreciprocity have been demonstrated.By tuning the temperature of the environment,the resonant mode frequency will shift,which can also be used for thermal sensing/tuning applications.The thermal locking technique and thermal imaging mechanisms are discussed briefly.Finally,we review some techniques employed to achieve thermal stability in a high-quality-factor resonator system.Xuefeng Jiang Lan Yang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:5
2基于PT对称和超对称的微结构激光器显示文摘激光器是一种高亮度、高效率和高相干性的功率转换器件,特别是在半导体激光器系统中,不仅存在折射率的高低分布,而且还同时存在增益和损耗分布,是一个天然的非厄米光学系统。通过引入微结构调控激光器的折射率和增益损耗分布,可以在基于半导体激光芯片的光学平台上实现宇称时间对称、超对称等物理效应,并实现对激光器的空间光场和频域光谱的调控,从而获得高性能的新型微结构激光器。其中,宇称时间对称有望改善激光器的光谱、近场和远场分布,而超对称有望实现单侧模大功率输出。本文主要从这些物理效应的基本原理出发,综述了基于宇称时间对称和超对称的激光器的相关工作,探讨了新型微结构激光器的可能发展方向。傅廷 王宇飞 王学友 陈静瑄 周旭彦 郑婉华 2021中国激光2021,48,12:4
3电注入下的人工微结构模式调控激光研究进展显示文摘电注入半导体激光器相较于其他类型激光器具有电光转换效率高、体积小、寿命长等优势,近年来在显示、材料加工、医疗、通讯等领域的市场占有份额日益增长.激光器的模式特性直接影响激光器的输出性能,如功率、光束质量、光谱线宽等通过引入人工微结构,结合宇称时间对称、连续谱束缚态以及多模腔杂化调控手段,不仅可以拓展半导体激光器的物理研究范畴,同时有效优化激光器的性能,进一步增加了半导体激光器的多元应用场景.本文从模式调控的角度出发,对电注入下的人工微结构半导体激光器展开综述,包括国内外研究发展现状、物理原理以及相应的应用,最后进行了总结与展望.傅廷 陈静瑄 王学友 徐林海 王宇飞 王明金 郑婉华 2022中国科学:信息科学2022,52,10:0
4Global modes and coupled modes for integrated twin circular-side octagon microlasers显示文摘Whispering-gallery mode(WGM)microlasers are potential light sources for photonic integrated circuits and optical information processing.In this paper,an integrated twin circular-side octagon microlaser(TCOM)composed of two identical circular-side octagon microcavities(COMs)is proposed and demonstrated for realizing lasing mode control.In a TCOM,we found a global mode with the mode field of an'8'pattern(labeled'8'mode)in addition to weak coupling modes of traditional four-bounce modes.The'8'mode belongs to the whole coupled cavity and is insensitive to the refractive index offset of coupled COMs,but the weak coupling modes are strongly sensitive to the refractive index offset.Lasing mode transformation from multiple coupled modes to a single'8'mode is demonstrated by adjusting the refractive index offset through injection currents.Weak coupling modes for directly connected TCOMs and lasing mode control make the COM a potential unit for large-scale photonic integration and optical information processing.Ke YANG Yuede YANG Youzeng HAO Jiliang WU Yongtao HUANG Jiachen LIU Jinlong XIAO Yongzhen HUANG 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,2:0
