2New Cretaceous palaeointensity data and the constraints on geodynamics显示文摘A combined geochronologic(K-Ar) and palaeomagnetic study has been conducted on a basalt lava sequence at Yixian Formation in Liaoning Province, northeastern China. The new K-Ar age obtained from thirteen lava flows is 120.93±0.88 Ma. Detailed rock-magnetic investigations were conducted on each lava flow to determine their remanence carriers. The modified version of the Thellier-Thellier palaeointensity method with systematic partial thermoremanent magnetization(pTRM) checks was used for the palaeointensity determination. Virtual dipole moment(VDM) value is(3.66±0.10)×1022 Am2. This low dipole-field intensity value is approximately forty-five percent of the today field VDM. Combined with all of the other published palaeointensity data, possible links between the earth's interior process and its control on the variation of the earth's magnetic field during the geological time were tentatively discussed.朱日祥 潘永信 史瑞萍 2002Science China Earth Sciences2002,45,10:6
3ISEA reversed event in the Cretaceous Normal Super-chron (CNS): ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar dating and paleomagnetic results显示文摘In order to provide the age for the ISEA (one reversed event in the CNS) a combined rock magnetic, pa-leomagnetic and geochronologic study has been conducted on two Cretaceous andesitic basalt lava flows from Sanbaoying, Liaoning Province of northeastern China. Rock magnetic investigations show that pseudo-single domain (PSD) ti-tanomagnetite with poor-Ti content is the dominant mag-netic mineral in Sanbaoying lava flows. Detailed systematic thermal demagnetization allowed us to isolate two rema-nence components after removing a low temperature com-ponent at 100℃/150℃; an intermediate temperature com-ponent with normal polarity at 150℃/200℃—380℃/400℃ and the characteristic remanence component (ChRM) with reversed polarity above 400℃/450℃. 40Ar/39Ar dating results show that Sanbaoying rocks were erupted at 116.0±0.3 Ma. Combination of paleomagnetic results and 40Ar/39Ar dating indicates that the reversed event recorded in Sanbaoying lavas corresponds to the ISEA event in the CNS. 4Magnetic polarity ages of the fossil-bearing strata at the Sihetun section,West Liaoning:A preliminary result显示文摘Rock-magnetic and palaeomagnetic studies have been carried out on the interval of famous fossil-bearing sedimentary rocks and its overlying basalts and underlying basalts at the Sihetun section, West Liaoning Province. Normal polarity was obtained for the sedimentary interval and the underlying basalts, while reversed polarity was found in the overlying basalts. Taking account of the new 40Ar/39Ar ages (Swisher et al., 1999), we classified the fossil-bearing sedimentary interval into the Barremian M3n zone (Early Cretaceous age). Several abnormal horizons on magnetic properties, probably corresponding to the tuffs, were observed in the fossil-bearing sedimentary interval. 5古地磁场研究:挑战与机遇显示文摘地磁场源于地核流体的运动,至少已有约35亿年历史。地磁场的起源及演化一直是地球科学研究的前沿领域之一,这是因为它既是地球宜居环境的重要保障,也是探究地球系统各圈层联系的重要途径。本文重点围绕保留在岩石中的'深时'古地磁场记录,分析在地球内部磁场的形成与维持、地磁场极性倒转、以及地磁场强度变化等古地磁场研究三个方面的主要进展及面临的挑战。同时,结合古地磁测试技术的革新,磁发电机实验和超算模拟的应用,生物磁学的发展,阐述古地磁与地质学多学科交叉研究有望在揭示古地磁场变化及其对生物演化方面的贡献。对古地磁场变化的研究不仅有助于理解地磁场的起源与演化规律,也对认识地球的早期演化,甚至其它行星的演化有重要意义。李永祥 刘欣宇 2021地质学报2021,95,1:1
6Geomagnetic polarity transitions recorded in the Miocene lavas of the Wuyu basin,Tibet显示文摘Geomagnetic polarity transitions were the most important phenomena in the study of the geomagnetic field evolution and the earth's deep interior dynamics.The Miocene postcollisional ultrapotassic-potassic rocks are widely distributed in the Lhasa Block of southern Tibet.Paleomagnetic studies on the Wuyu Formation indicated that these volcanic rocks recorded the C5Bn.2n-C5Bn.1r and C5ACr-C5ACn geomagnetic polarity transitions.The virtual geomagnetic poles(VGPs) of these two polarity transitions were located in the Atlantic and the central Pacific,respectively.Due to data scarcity,it remains unclear whether VGP paths of Miocene geomagnetic polarity transitions were longitudinal preference and/or 90° away from the sampling sites.TONG YaBo YANG ZhenYu PAN YongXin ZHENG LianDi SUN ZhiMing PEI JunLing ZHUANG ZhongHai 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,4:0
