NUMERICAL STUDY OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN APPARENT SLIP LENGTH AND CONTACT ANGLE BY LATTICE BOLTZMANN METHOD显示文摘The apparent slip between solid wall and liquid is studied by using the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) and theShan-Chen multiphase model in this paper. With a no-slip bounce-back scheme applied to the interface, flow regimes under differentwall wettabilities are investigated. Because of the wall wettability, liquid apparent slip is observed. Slip lengths for different wallwettabilities are found to collapse nearly onto a single curve as a function of the static contact angle, and thereby a relationshipbetween apparent slip length and contact angle is suggested. Our results also show that the wall wettability leads to the formation of alow-density layer between solid wall and liquid, which produced apparent slip in the micro-scale. | ZHANG Ren-liang DI Qin-feng WANG Xin-liang DING Wei-peng GONG Wei | 2012 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2012,24,4: | 11
An exact solution for flow past an accelerated horizontal plate in a rotating fluid with the generalized Oldroyd-B model显示文摘In this paper, the generalized Oldroyd-B withtractional calculus approach is used.An exact solution interms of Fox-H function for flow past an accelerated hori-zontal plate in a rotating fluid is obtained by using discreteLaplace transform method.A comparison among the influ-ence of various parameters in the Oldroyd-B model and theangular velocity of the fluid on the velocity profiles is madethrough numerical method in graphic form. | Jianhong Kang Mingyu Xu Institute of Applied Mathematics,School of Mathematics and System Science,Shandong University, 250100 Jinan, China | 2009 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2009,25,4: | 1
Oscillatory Couette flow of rotating Sisko fluid显示文摘The oscillatory Couette flow of a magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) Sisko fluid between two infinite non-conducting parallel plates is explored in a rotating frame. The lower plate is fixed, and the upper plate is oscillating in its own plane. Using MATLAB,a numerical solution to the resulting nonlinear system is presented. The influence of the physical parameters on the velocity components is analyzed. It is found that the effect of rotation on the primary velocity is more significant than that on the secondary velocity.Further, the oscillatory character in the flow is also induced by rotation. The considered flow situation behaves inertialess when the Reynolds number is small. | T.HAYAT S.ABELMAN M.HAMESE | 2014 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2014,35,10: | 0
Hydromagnetic flow through uniform channel bounded by porous media显示文摘The combined effects of the magnetic field, permeable walls,Darcy velocity, and slip parameter on the steady flow of a fluid in a channel of uniform width are studied. The fluid flowing in the channel is assumed to be homogeneous, incompressible, and Newtonian.Analytical solutions are constructed for the governing equations using Beavers-Joseph slip boundary conditions.Effects of the magnetic field, permeability,Darcy velocity, and slip parameter on the axial velocity, slip velocity, and shear stress are discussed in detail. It is shown that the Hartmann number,Darcy velocity, porous parameter, and slip parameter play a vital role in altering the flow and in turn the shear stress. | K.RAMAKRISHNAN K.SHAILENDHRA | 2011 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2011,32,7: | 0
