1Clinicopathological utility of sialoglycoconjugates in diagnosing and treating colorectal cancer显示文摘Aberrant expression of glycoconjugates occurs during malignant transformation of cancer cells.Overexpression of sialoglycoconjugates in particular may play an important role in the progression,i.e.,invasion or metastasis,of cancer.Various types of sialoglycoconjugates have been investigated to clarify their biological significance and clinical utility in diagnosing and treating colorectal cancer.This review focuses specifically on expression of mucin(MUC)1 and it suggests that MUC1with the specific structure of a sialo-oligosaccharide has biological significance in determining the metastatic potential of colorectal cancer cells and clinicopathological utility in evaluating the effectiveness of treatments and the prognosis for patients with colorectal cancer.Further studies are expected to contribute to the expanded use of cancer-associated sialoglycoconjugates in cancer diagnosis and therapy.Yoshinori Inagaki Jianjun Gao Peipei Song Norihiro Kokudo Munehiro Nakata Wei Tang 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,20:5

3Inhibition of KL-6/MUC1 glycosylation limits aggressive progression of pancreatic cancer显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the significance of KL-6/MUC1(a type of MUC1)glycosylation in pancreatic cancer progression.METHODS:KL-6/MUC1 expression was detected by immunohistochemistry in 48 patients with pancreatic duct cell carcinoma.The N-/O-glycosylation inhibitors(tunicamycin and benzyl-N-acetyl-α-galactosaminide)were then used to interfere with KL-6/MUC1 glycosylation in two pancreatic carcinoma cell lines,and the effects on KL-6/MUC1 expression,and cell adhesion and invasion were determined.In addition,protein expression of epithelial-mesenchymal transition markers,E-cadherin and vimentin,were evaluated in cells after treatment with glycosylation inhibitors.RESULTS:Overexpression of KL-6/MUC1 was found in all pancreatic cancer tissues,but not in the surrounding normal pancreatic tissues.The expression profile of KL-6/MUC1 was significantly decreased after treatment with the inhibitors.The adhesion and invasive ability of cancer cells were significantly decreased after drug treatment,and increased E-cadherin and decreased vimentin expression were found.CONCLUSION:KL-6/MUC1 glycosylation is involved in pancreatic cancer metastasis and invasion.Therapeutic strategies which target this may help control the aggressive behavior of pancreatic cancer cells.Huan-Li Xu Xin Zhao Ke-Ming Zhang Wei Tang Norihiro Kokudo 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,34:4
4KL-6在肿瘤中的研究进展显示文摘KL-6是由MUCl基因编码,相对分子量接近200000的糖蛋白。很早就已作为间质性肺疾病的血清学指标。近年来研究发现,KL-6在乳腺癌、肺癌、结肠癌、壶腹部癌等多种肿瘤中表达均增高,而且同有无淋巴结转移、远处转移密切相关。检测血清KL-6有助于了解乳腺癌、结肠癌等肿瘤的疾病发展和检测,并可以对肺癌某些靶向药物的疗效评估有预测作用。对于放射性肺炎有一定的预测作用。夏红强 何建蓉 2011现代肿瘤医学2011,19,1:2
