1Effects of high temperature on the microstructure and mechanical behavior of hard coal显示文摘Coal is a common porous sedimentary rock whose microstructure and mechanical behavior are often affected by high temperature. In order to deeply investigate the effect of high temperature on the structure and mechanical properties of coal, six groups of coal samples with different heating temperatures were prepared.Various testing methods, including ultrasonic test, scanning electron microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance and uniaxial compression test, were used in this study. The results showed that the physical and chemical change processes of coal samples under high temperature can be divided into two stages:the stage of drying and degassing and the stage of pyrolysis of the coal matrix. With the increase of heating temperature, the total porosity of coal samples increases, while the integrity and the deformation resistance of coal samples decrease. In addition, the elastic modulus and uniaxial compressive strength of the coal sample decrease with the increase of heating temperature. The Poisson’s ratio decreases firstly and then increases with the increase of heating temperature.Chengdong Su Jiadong Qiu Qiuhong Wu Lei Weng 2020International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020,30,5:11
2CO_2 permeability of fractured coal subject to confining pressures and elevated temperature: Experiments and modeling显示文摘The CO_2 permeability of fractured coal is of great significance to both coalbed gas extraction and CO_2 storage in coal seams, but the effects of high confining pressure, high injection pressure and elevated temperature on the CO_2 permeability of fractured coal with different fracture extents have not been investigated thoroughly. In this paper, the CO_2 permeability of fractured coals sampled from a Pingdingshan coal mine in China and artificially fractured to a certain extent is investigated through undrained triaxial tests. The CO_2 permeability is measured under the confining pressure with a range of 10–25 MPa, injection pressure with a range of 6–12 MPa and elevated temperature with a range of 25–70°C. A mechanistic model is then proposed to characterize the CO_2 permeability of the fractured coals. The effects of thermal expansion, temperature-induced reduction of adsorption capacity, and thermal micro-cracking on the CO_2 permeability are explored. The test results show that the CO_2 permeability of naturally fractured coal saliently increases with increasing injection pressure. The increase of confining pressure reduces the permeability of both naturally fractured coal and secondarily fractured coal. It is also observed that initial fracturing by external loads can enhance the permeability, but further fracturing reduces the permeability. The CO_2 permeability decreases with the elevation of temperature if the temperature is lower than 44°C, but the permeability increases with temperature once the temperature is beyond 44°C. The mechanistic model well describes these compaction mechanisms induced by confining pressure, injection pressure and the complex effects induced by elevated temperature.JU Yang WANG JianGuo WANG HuiJie ZHENG JiangTao RANJITH Pathegama G GAO Feng 2016Science China(Technological Sciences)2016,59,12:8
3Effect of NaOH treatment on combustion performance of Xilinhaote lignite显示文摘The combustion characteristics of NaOH treated and untreated Xilihaote lignite was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. The relationship between physico-chemical properties, including the ash content,oxygen-containing functional groups, mean pore diameter and specific surface area and combustion performance, was also studied in this paper.Combustion kinetic parameters were calculated through Coasts Redfern Method. The results show that ignition of treated samples takes place at higher temperature compared to raw lignite, and peak temperature also occurs at higher temperature. The maximum combustion rate of the sample, which was treated by 0.01 mol/L NaOH lignite, was the biggest.Reaction orders of 0.6,2.0,and 0.8 were found to be effective mechanism for definite three temperature regions.Average activation energies of these three temperature regions of XLHTR,XLHT0.01,XLHT0.50 and XLTH1.00 are 19.17,23.87,10.77,and 10.93 kJ/mol,respectively.Treatment of lignite with NaOH can reduce the reactivity of lignite at proper concentration.Liu Xiangchun Feng Li Song Lingling Wang Xinhua Zhang Ying 2014International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2014,24,1:4
4Analytical and numerical modeling for the effects of thermal insulation in underground tunnels显示文摘The heat How generated from the infinite rock mass surrounding the underground tunnels is a major cause for the increasing cooling demands in deep mine tunnels.Insulation layers with lower thermal conductivities on tunnel walls and roof ceilings are believed to supply a thermo-barrier for heat abatement. However,it is found that no systematic theoretical investigations were made to predict and confirm the effectiveness of underground thermal insulation.Specifically, investigations on the underground insulation problems involving heat flows through the semi-infinite hot rock mass and insulation layer were not sufficient. Thus,in this paper, the thermal characteristics, accompanied with heat flow through the semi-infinite rock mass and the insulation layer, were modeled by both analytical and numerical methods with focus on underground mine tunnels. The close agreements between models have indicated that the thermal insulation applied on tunnel surfaces is able to provide promising heat abatement effects.Liu W.V.
