| 1 | EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON INCIPIENT MOTION OF SEDIMENT PARTICLES ON GENERALIZED SLOPING FLUVIAL BEDS显示文摘This paper presents an experimental investigation on incipient motion of non-cohesive uniform sediment under a steady-uniform stream flow on generalized sloping fluvial beds (combined lateral and stream-wise slope). The characteristic parameters affecting the incipient motion of sediment particles, identified based on the physical reasoning and dimensional analysis, are the threshold shear stress ratio (ratio of threshold shear stress for sloping bed to that for horizontal bed), lateral slope, stream-wise slope and angle of repose of sediment particles. Experiments were carried out in two ducts (closed-conduit flow) having section of semicircular invert with three types of sediments. In an open channel flow (laboratory flume study), the uniform flow is a difficult, if not impossible, proposition for a steeply sloping channel and is impossible to obtain in an adversely sloping channel. To avoid this problem, the tests were conducted with a closed-conduit flow. Equation of critical bed shear stress for the initial movement of sediment particles on generalized sloping beds was obtained using the experimental data. | Subhasish DEY Asst. | 4 | Convergence for Imaginary Time Step evolution in the Fermi and Dirac seas显示文摘The convergence for the Imaginary Time Step (ITS) evolution with time step is investigated by performing the ITS evolution for the Schrdinger-like equation and the charge-conjugate Schrdinger-like equation deduced from Dirac equation for the single proton levels of 12C in both the Fermi and Dirac seas. For the guaranteed convergence of the ITS evolution to the 'exact' results, the time step should be smaller than a 'critical' time step Δtc for a given single-particle level. The 'critical' time step Δtc is more sensitive to the quantum numbers |κ| than to the energy of the single-particle level. For the single-particle levels with the same κ,their 'critical' time steps are in the same order. For the single-particle levels with similar energy,a relatively small (large) 'critical' time step for larger (smaller) |κ| is needed. These conclusions can be used in the future self-consistent calculation to optimize the evolution procedure. | LI FangQiong1,ZHANG Ying2 & MENG Jie2,3,4 1Guizhou University for Nationalities,Guiyang 550025,China 2State Key Lab Nucl. | 5 | APPROXIMATION ANALYSES FOR FUZZY VALUED FUNCTIONS IN L_1(μ)-NORM BY REGULAR FUZZY NEURAL NETWORKS显示文摘By defining fuzzy valued simple functions and giving L1(μ) approximations of fuzzy valued integrably bounded functions by such simple functions, the paper analyses by L1(μ)-norm the approximation capability of four-layer feedforward regular fuzzy neural networks to the fuzzy valued integrably bounded function F : Rn → FcO(R). That is, if the transfer functionσ: R→R is non-polynomial and integrable function on each finite interval, F may be innorm approximated by fuzzy valued functions defined as to anydegree of accuracy. Finally some real examples demonstrate the conclusions. | Liu Puyin (Dept. of System Eng. and Math., National Univ. of Defence Tech., Changsha 410073) | 2000 | Journal of Electronics(China)2000,17,2: | 4 |

The methodology of computational manufacturing aims at integrating computational geometry, machining principle, sensor information fusion, optimization, computational intelligence and virtual prototyping to solve problems of the modeling, reasoning, control, planning and scheduling of manufacturing processes and systems. There are three typical problems in computational manufacturing, i.e., scheduling (time-domain), geometric reasoning (space-domain) and decision- making (interaction between time-domain and space-domain). | 7 | INFINITELY MANY SOLUTIONS OF DIRICHLET PROBLEM FOR p-MEAN CURVATURE OPERATOR显示文摘The existence of infinitely many solutions of the following Dirichlet problem for p-mean curvature operator:-div((1+|u| 2) p-22u)=f(x,u),\ x∈Ω, u∈W 1,p 0(Ω),is considered, where Ω is a bounded domain in R n(n>p>1) with smooth boundary Ω.Under some natural conditions together with some conditions weaker than (AR) condition,we prove that the above problem has infinitely many solutions by a symmetric version of the Mountain Pass Theorem if f(x,u)|u| p-2u→+∞ as u→∞. | Chen Zhihui Shen YaotianDept.of Appl.Math.,South China Univ. of Tech.,Guangzhou 510640,China. | 2003 | Applied Mathematics(A Journal of Chinese Universities)2003,18,2: | 3 |
| 8 | Numerical Analysis on Current Transport Characteristics in Single Layer Organic Electroluminescent Devices显示文摘A new model to describe I-V characteristics of organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) is developed based on experimental results. The dependence of I-V characteristics on energy barrier, trap density and carrier mobility is analyzed. The result shows that this model combines the Fowler Nordheim tunnel theory and the trap charge limited current theory with exponential trap distribution (TCL), and it describes the current transport characteristics of OLEDs more comprehensively. The I-V characteristics follow Fowler Nordheim theory when the energy barrier is high, the trap density is small and the carrier mobility is large. In other cases they follow the TCL theory. | PENG Ying quan 1, GAO Zhao yang 1, HE Xi yuan 1, ZHANG Xu 2 (1.School of Phys. | 10 | A SKELETONIZATION ALGORITHM BASED ON EUCLIDEAN DISTANCE MAPS AND MORPHOLOGICAL OPERATORS显示文摘In this letter a new skeletonization algorithm is proposed. It combines techniques of fast construction of Euclidean Distance Maps(EDMs), ridge extraction, Hit-or-Miss Transformation(HMT) of structuring elements and the set operators. It first produces the EDM image with no more than 4 passes through an image of any kinds, and then the ridge image is extracted by applying a turn-on scheme and performing a rain-fall elimination to accelerate the processing. The one-pixel wide skeleton is finally acquired by carrying out the HMTs of two structure elements and the SUBTRACT and OR operations. | 15 | TWO CLASSES OF SYMMETRIC SIGN PATTERNS THAT REQUIRE UNIQUE INERTIA显示文摘A sign pattern is a matrix whose entries are from the set {+,-,0}. Associated with each sign pattern A of order n is a qualitative class of A,defined by Q(A). For a symmetric sign pattern A of order n,the inertia of A is a set i(A)={i(B)=(i +(B),i -(B),i 0(B))|B=B T∈ Q(A)},where i +(B) (respectively,i -(B),i 0(B)) denotes the number of positive (respectively, negative, zero) eigenvalues. That the symmetric sign pattern A requires unique intertia means i(B 1)=i(B 2) for all real symmetric matrices B 1,B 2∈Q(A).The purpose of this paper is to characterize double star and cycle sign patterns that require unique inertia. Further, their unique inertia is also obtained. | Shao YanlingDept. of Appl. | 16 | A ROBUST ADAPTIVE VIDEO ENCODER BASED ON HUMAN VISUAL MODEL显示文摘A Robust Adaptive Video Encoder (RAVE) based on human visual model is proposed. The encoder combines the best features of Fine Granularity Scalable (FGS) coding, framedropping coding, video redundancy coding, and human visual model. According to packet loss and available bandwidth of the network, the encoder adjust the output bit rate by jointly adapting quantization step-size instructed by human visual model, rate shaping, and periodically inserting key frame. The proposed encoder is implemented based on MPEG-4 encoder and is compared with the case of a conventional FGS algorithm. It is shown that RAVE is a very efficient robust video encoder that provides improved visual quality for the receiver and consumes equal or less network resource. Results are confirmed by subjective tests and simulation tests. | Yin Hao Zhang Jiangshan Zhu Yaoting Zhu Guangxi (Dept. of Electronics & Info. | 18 | An Early Stage Faulting Along the Altun Mountain Range——Microstructural Evidences显示文摘Structural, microstructural analysis is done on the Altun fault zo ne and fault rocks. The major characteristics of faulting are summarized. Micros tructural observation reveals a complicated evolution of the fault zone. Much at tention is paid to the microstructural observation and dynamic analysis of fault ing. The occurrence of phengite grains suggest abnormally high pressure conditio ns during ductile deformation and metamorphism, while the occurrence of muscovit e-chlorite mineral assemblage suggest a low temperature and low pressure condit i on. Micro-component analysis on the inter-grown muscovite and chlorite grains gives similar information. It is concluded that the first deformation along the Altun fault zone is a type of ductile shearing, forming mylonites and mylonitic rocks along the fault zone. A post-Jurassic deformation is primarily suggested by the involvement of the l atest tectonic units (Jurassic) in the ductile deformation. The early tectonic ev ent involves deformation and metamorphism under conditions in the upper crust, w ith T-P conditions varying to a large extent (T-270℃ ~350℃; P-0.005GPa~0. 43GPa), which may be attributed to the extra tectonic stresses. | Liu Junlai, Pan Hongxun, Ye Huiwen, Ge Xiaohong and Liu Yongjiang (Changchun Univ. | 20 | ANALYSIS OF INTERNALLY GENERATED NOISE OF BIOELECTRIC AMPLIFIERS显示文摘This paper deals with internally generated noise of bioelectric amplifiers that are usually used for processing of bioelectric events. The main purpose of this paper is to present a procedure for analysis of the effects of internal noise generated by the active circuits and to evaluate the output noise of the author's new designed bioelectric amplifier that caused by internal effects to the amplifier circuit itself in order to compare it with the noise generated by conventional amplifiers. The obtained analysis results of internally generated noise showed that the total output noise of bioelectric active circuits does not increase when some of their resistors have a larger value. This behavior is caused by the different transfer functions for the signal and the respective noise sources associated with these resistors. Moreover, the new designed bioelectric amplifier has an output noise less than that for conventional amplifiers. The obtained analysis results were also experimentally verified and the final conclusions were drawn. | Mashhour Mustafa Bani Amer(Dept. of Biomedical Eng., Faculty of Eng., Jordan Univ. of Sci. and Tech., P.O.Box 3030, Irbid 22110, Jordan) | 2003 | Journal of Electronics(China)2003,20,1: | 1 |
