2Orthotopic transplantation model of human gastrointestinal cancer and detection of micrometastases显示文摘AIM To establish a relevant animal model ofhuman gastrointestinal cancer, which can beused for repetitive investigations, so as toimprove our understanding and management ofcarcinogenesis and cancer metastasis.METHODS Intact tissues of human colorectaland pancreatic cancers were transplanted innude mice. The biological characteristics of theoriginal and the corresponding transplantedtumors were investigated by HE staining, PASstaining and immunostaining. The metastases inthe livers and lungs of nude mice wereinvestigated by immunostaining withbiotinylated mab KL-1 and by RT-PCR using CK20specific primers.RESULTS There were totally 9 of 16 surgicalspecimens growing in nude mice subcutaneouslyand/.or orthotopically (4 of 6 colorectal and 5 of10 pancreatic cancer). Tumor cell content of thespecimens and freezing of tissue specimens areimportant factors influencing the growth oftransplanted tumor. In the group of fresh tumortissues with greater than 50% tumor cellcontent, the success rate of the transplantationwas 100% (3 cases of pancreatic cancer and 3cases of colorectal cancer). The orthotopicallytransplanted tumors resemble the original tumormorphologically and biologically, including TAAexpression such as CEA byimmunohistochemistry, and CEA level in theserum of mice. Ki-67 labeling index and theexpression of TAA especially K-ras, 17-lA andRA-96, are associated with the potential of tumorgrowth in nude mice. Micrometastases in thelungs and livers of tumor bearing mice can bedetected by immunostaining with biotinylatedmab KL-1 and CK20-specific RT-PCR.CONCLUSION An orthotopic transplantationmodel for human colon and pancreatic cancer innude mice has been set up. We have alsoestablished sensitive detection methods withCK-immunohistochemistry and CK20-RT-PCR tostudy xenotransplanted human cancer and itsmetastatic cancer cells in the liver and lung ofnude mice. 3Recycling of mixed cathode lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles: Current status and future outlook显示文摘Worldwide trends in mobile electrification,largely driven by the popularity of electric vehicles(EVs)will skyrocket demands for lithium-ion battery(LIB)production.As such,up to four million metric tons of LIB waste from EV battery packs could be generated from 2015 to 2040.LIB recycling directly addresses concerns over longterm economic strains due to the uneven geographic distribution of resources(especially for Co and Li)and environmental issues associated with both landfilling and raw material extraction.However,LIB recycling infrastructure has not been widely adopted,and current facilities are mostly focused on Co recovery for economic gains.This incentive will decline due to shifting market trends from LiCoO2 toward cobalt-deficient and mixed-metal cathodes(eg,LiNi1/3Mn1/3Co1/3O2).Thus,this review covers recycling strategies to recover metals in mixed-metal LIB cathodes and comingled scrap comprising different chemistries.As such,hydrometallurgical processes can meet this criterion,while also requiring a low environmental footprint and energy consumption compared to pyrometallurgy.Following pretreatment to separate the cathode from other battery components,the active material is dissolved entirely by reductive acid leaching.A complex leachate is generated,comprising cathode metals(Li+,Ni2+,Mn2+,and Co2+)and impurities(Fe3+,Al3+,and Cu2+)from the current collectors and battery casing,which can be separated and purified using a series of selective precipitation and/or solvent extraction steps.Alternatively,the cathode can be resynthesized directly from the leachate.Tyler Or Storm WDGourley Karthikeyan Kaliyappan Aiping Yu Zhongwei Chen 2020Carbon Energy2020,2,1:16
4Direct evidence of transformation from smectite to palygorskite:TEM investigation显示文摘Palygorskite clays sampled from palygorskite clay deposits in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Many intergrowth phenomena of special ultra-microstructure between smectite and palygorskite were found. The ultra-microstructure indicates that palygorsite fiberrous crystals grow along (001) of primary smectite through structural transformation and decomposition of the primary smectite. According to field investigation and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses, the transformation mechanism and process can be described as: formation of smectite from basalt weathering deposited in localiza- tion basin; evaporation of lake water in aridity environment causing pH increase and concentra- tion of magnesium ion in interstice water of sediment smectite in the lake basin. Under alkaline conditions, magnesium ion occupied interlayer positions of the smectite. Because of the misfit between magnesium octahedral sheet and smectite layer, magnesium ion interaction with smec- tite layers caused the smectite to transform into palygorskite, and resulted in the formation of smectite and palygorskite complex particulates, and even smaller secondary smectite crystal plates. The transformation of smectite structure resulted in the formation of nanometer minerals with large specific surface area and excellent property of physics and chemistry in smec- tite-palygorskite mixing clay. 5Studies on the analytical potential energy function of diatomic molecular ion XY^+ using variational method显示文摘A new analytical potential energy function for diatomic molecular ion XY+ is proposed based on the energy consistent method (ECM). The Coulomb potential included in the new ionic potential contains multipole corrections, converges quickly and is variationally changeable. The new potential and the ECM are applied to variationally studying the potential energies of eight electronic states of several diatomic molecular ions: the A2P state of CO+, the X2+g state of 2+Li, the X2+g state of 2,+Hethe 12Pu state of ,+2Nathe A2Pu state of ,+2N the X1S+ state of KrH+, the X2S+ state of SiO+ and the A2P state of SO+ ion. 6Plasma and platelet serotonin levels in patients with liver cirrhosis显示文摘AIM: To analyze the relationship between plasma and platelet serotonin levels and the degree of liver insufficiency. METHODS: The prospective study included 30 patients with liver cirrhosis and 30 healthy controls. The degree of liver failure was assessed according to the Child-Pugh classification. Platelet and platelet poor plasma serotonin levels were determined. RESULTS: The mean plasma serotonin level was higher in liver cirrhosis patients than in healthy subjects (215.0 ± 26.1 vs 63.1 ± 18.1 nmol/L; P < 0.0001). The mean platelet serotonin content was not significantly different in patients with liver cirrhosis compared with healthy individuals (4.8 ± 0.6; 4.2 ± 0.3 nmol/platelet; P > 0.05). Plasma serotonin levels were significantly higher in Child- Pugh grade A/B than in grade C patients (246.8 ± 35.0 vs 132.3 ± 30.7 nmol/L; P < 0.05). However, platelet serotonin content was not significantly different between Child-Pugh grade C and grade A/B (4.6 ± 0.7 vs 5.2 ± 0.8 nmol/platelet; P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Plasma serotonin levels are significantly higher in patients with cirrhosis than in the controls and represent the degree of liver insufficiency. 7SEDIMENT-REMOVING CAPACITY AND RIVER MOTION DYNAMICS显示文摘Unsteady flow in fluvial rivers scours or deposits sediment, and exhibits sediment-removing capacity, which is defined as the capacity of the flow to remove sediment from per unit length of a river channel to other places per time. Differing from the well-defined sediment-carrying capacity, which is the feature of the mean flow and explains how much sediment load the flow can transport through the channel, the sediment-removing capacity is the feature of unsteady, non-equilibrium flow and represents the capability of the flow to change the channel shape and location. Measurement of the sediment-removing capacity was performed at 12 cross sections of the wandering lower Yellow River. Analysis demonstrates that the removing capacity depends mainly on the fluctuation intensity of the flow discharge. The power spectrum of discharge is presented with Fourier transformation and it revealed the mechanism of high measurement frequency-high sediment removing capacity. The movement of a river channel within the fluvial plain is defined as the river motion. The patterns of river motion are aggradation, degradation, widening, translation, rotation, wandering, bifurcation, and migration from one channel to another channel. 8Smart elasto-magneto-electric (EME) sensors for stress monitoring of steel structures in railway infrastructures显示文摘Steel structures are widely used in railway infrastructures.Their stress state is the most important determinant of the safety of these structures.The elasto-magnetic (EM) sensor is the most promising for stress monitoring of in-service steel structures.Nevertheless,the necessity of magnetic excitation to saturation due to the use of a secondary coil for signal detection,keeps from its engineering application.In this paper,a smart elasto-magneto-electric (EME) sensor using magneto-electric (ME) sensing units to take the place of the secondary coil has been exploited for the first time.The ME sensing unit is made of ME laminated composites,which has an ultrahigh ME voltage coefficient and can measure the magnetic induction simply and precisely.Theoretical analysis and characterization experiments firstly conducted on the ME laminated composites showed that the ME sensing units can be applied in the EM sensor for improved performance in stress monitoring.A tension test of a steel bar was carried out to characterize our smart EME sensor and the results showed high accuracy and sensitivity.The present smart EME sensor is a promising tool for stress monitoring of steel structures in railway and other civil infrastructures.Yuan-feng DUAN Ru ZHANG Yang ZHAO Siu-wing OR Ke-qing FAN Zhi-feng TANG 2011Journal of Zhejiang University-Science A(Applied Physics & Engineering)2011,12,12:4

10济宁市漏斗区地下水超采修复的风险评价显示文摘本文以Cl-和总硬度为水质模拟因子,以三维地下水流模型MODFLOW、溶质运移模型MT3D为工具,分析了人工补给和限采对地下水水量、水质等方面的影响,并采用了概率风险评价的方法评价了济宁市漏斗区地下水超采修复的风险。结果表明,尽管少量缩减开采量和开展地下水人工补给,对Cl-和总硬度有一些负面影响,却对防治漏斗区地面沉降等环境地质问题有重要意义。在减少25%开采量同时进行人工补给的方案中,地下水Cl-浓度没有超过世界卫生组织(WHO)标准(200mg/L),而总硬度却超过了500mg/L的世界卫生组织(WHO)标准;经计算,仅采取人工补给与采取人工补给同时减少25%开采量所对应的超越概率分别为0.66834、0.66995,这是可接受的;结论还表明,减少22%开采量同时进行人工补给是济宁漏斗区兼顾水量、水质两方面的最优方案。束龙仓 Basil T.I Ong’or 刘佩贵 李伟 2007工程勘察2007,35,12:3

13Magnetoelectric and converse magnetoelectric responses in Tb_xDy_(1-x)Fe_(2-y) alloy & Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))_(1-x)Ti_xO_3 crystal laminated composites显示文摘Measured results of magnetoelectric (ME) and converse magnetoelectric (CME) effects of TbxDy1-xFe2-y/ Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)(1-x)TixO3/TbxDy1-xFe2-y (TD/PMNT/TD) and PMNT/TD/PMNT laminated composites are pre- sented. ME effect was determined by measuring laminate voltage output under a Helmholtz-gener- ated AC field biased by a DC field (0―1 kOe) (1 Oe = 79.58 A/m). The CME effect was measured by re- cording the voltage induced in a solenoid encompassing the ME sample while exposed to a DC bias field and PMNT layer driven by a 10 V AC source. The ME and CME responses in the two laminated structure are linear. 14EXPERIMENTS ON FLOW AROUND A CYLINDER IN A SCOURED CRANNEL BED显示文摘The flow pattern around a cylinder, installed in a scourd channel bed, was experimentally investigated. Detailed measurements of the instantaneous 3D velocities were performed by using an Acoustic Doppler Velocity Profiler (ADVP), from which the profiles of the time^averaged velocities and turbulence stresses were obtained. It is shown that the influence of thC cylinder and of the scour hole alters the approach flow; this is essentially confined to the viciulty of the cylinder and to the inside of the scour hole. 15Thermodynamic characterization of two novel spin-crossover complexes显示文摘Two novel FeII spin crossover complexes [Fe(L1)3](BF4)25H2O (1) and [Fe(L2)3](BF4)2·2H2O (2) with 4-NHR-1,2,4-triazole (R = isopropyl, L1; cyclohexyl, L2) were synthesized. 1 and 2 remain white at room temperature, whereas they turn purple at liquid temperature. Variable temperature optical detection and magnetic susceptibilities measurement show that the spin-crossover phenomenon for 1 was observed between 120 K and 170 K. The hysteresis loop is about 10 K. The Tc temperature of 2 is 190 K, but no thermal hysteresis loop was found. 16Effects of Plant Age and Rock Phosphate on Quality and Nutrient Release of Legume Residue显示文摘An incubation experiment was carried out on plateau and slope fields to investigate the effect of plant age and rock phosphate (RP) on the organic resource (OR) quality and available N and P release of the legume residues, including standing biomass and surface litter. The legumes, Mucuna pruriens (L.) and Lablab purpureus (L.), were treated with or without Togo rock phosphate (RP) and were sampled at 12, 18, 24 and 30 weeks after planting. Results showed that the application of RP significantly affected the P content of the legume residues on the plateau field for the first 18 weeks, but not the other OR quality parameters, nor their N mineralization, or P release parameters. Although application of RP led to higher P contents in both legumes on the plateau field, the P contents were still far below those observed on the slope field. For both species, the biomass age appeared to have a major impact on their N, P, and polyphenol contents, but not on the lignin content. At 24 weeks, both legume N and P contents dropped to about half their values at 12 weeks of age. Residue age also significantly affected N mineralization both with and without RP addition and the net Olsen-P with RP addition. The younger residues generally led to higher N mineralization and net Olsen-P content than the older residues. The best immediate responses to herbaceous legume addition were expected from younger materials, but often at the cost of the total biomass produced and the possibility to produce seeds. The production of seeds, however, could be potentially implemented on a small area of legumes, thus invariably allowing for maturity and seed production.I. ABARCHI ZHANG Zhan-Yu B. 19Numerical Simulation of Transient Thermal Stress Field for Laser Metal Deposition Shaping显示文摘To decrease thermal stress during laser metal deposition shaping(LMDS)process,it is of great importance to learn the transient thermal stress distribution regularities.Based on the“element life and death”technique of finite element analy- sis(FEA),a three-dimensional multi-track and multi-layer numerical simulation model for LMDS is developed with ANSYS parametric design language(APDL)for the first time,in which long-edge parallel reciprocating scanning paths is introduced.
