| 1 | Droid Detector:Android Malware Characterization and Detection Using Deep Learning显示文摘Smartphones and mobile tablets are rapidly becoming indispensable in daily life. Android has been the most popular mobile operating system since 2012. However, owing to the open nature of Android, countless malwares are hidden in a large number of benign apps in Android markets that seriously threaten Android security. Deep learning is a new area of machine learning research that has gained increasing attention in artificial intelligence. In this study, we propose to associate the features from the static analysis with features from dynamic analysis of Android apps and characterize malware using deep learning techniques. We implement an online deep-learning-based Android malware detection engine(Droid Detector) that can automatically detect whether an app is a malware or not. With thousands of Android apps, we thoroughly test Droid Detector and perform an indepth analysis on the features that deep learning essentially exploits to characterize malware. The results show that deep learning is suitable for characterizing Android malware and especially effective with the availability of more training data. Droid Detector can achieve 96.76% detection accuracy, which outperforms traditional machine learning techniques. | 2 | Amino acids and mammary gland development:nutritional implications for milk production and neonatal growth显示文摘Milk is synthesized by mammary epithelial cel s of lactating mammals. The synthetic capacity of the mammary gland depends largely on the number and efficiency of functional mammary epithelial cel s. Structural development of the mammary gland occurs during fetal growth, prepubertal and post-pubertal periods, pregnancy, and lactation under the control of various hormones(particularly estrogen, growth hormone, insulin-like growth factor-I, progesterone, placental lactogen, and prolactin) in a species- and stage-dependent manner. Milk is essential for the growth, development, and health of neonates. Amino acids(AA), present in both free and peptide-bound forms, are the most abundant organic nutrients in the milk of farm animals. Uptake of AA from the arterial blood of the lactating dam is the ultimate source of proteins(primarily β-casein and α-lactalbumin) and bioactive nitrogenous metabolites in milk. Results of recent studies indicate extensive catabolism of branched-chain AA(leucine, isoleucine and valine) and arginine to synthesize glutamate,glutamine, alanine, aspartate, asparagine, proline, and polyamines. The formation of polypeptides from AA is regulated not only by hormones(e.g., prolactin, insulin and glucocorticoids) and the rate of blood flow across the lactating mammary gland, but also by concentrations of AA, lipids, glucose, vitamins and minerals in the maternal plasma, as well as the activation of the mechanistic(mammalian) target rapamycin signaling by certain AA(e.g.,arginine, branched-chain AA, and glutamine). | 3 | Biochemical and physiological bases for utilization of dietary amino acids by young Pigs显示文摘Protein is quantitatively the most expensive nutrient in swine diets. Hence it is imperative to understand the physiological roles played by amino acids in growth, development, lactation, reproduction, and health of pigs to improve their protein nutrition and reduce the costs of pork production. Due to incomplete knowledge of amino acid biochemistry and nutrition, it was traditionally assumed that neonatal, post-weaning, growing-finishing, and gestating pigs could synthesize sufficient amounts of all 'nutritionally nonessential amino acids' (NEAA) to support maximum production performance. Therefore, over the past 50 years, much emphasis has been placed on dietary requirements of nutritionally essential amino acids as building blocks for tissue proteins. However, a large body of literature shows that NEAA, particularly glutamine, glutamate, arginine and proline regulate physiological functions via cell signaling pathways, such as mammalian target of rapamycin, AMP-activated protein kinase, extracellular signal-related kinase, Jun kinase, mitogen-activated protein kinase, and NEAA-derived gaseous molecules (e.g., nitric oxide, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide). Available evidence shows that under current feeding programs, only 70% and 55% of dietary amino acids are deposited as tissue proteins in 14-day-old sow-reared piglets and in 30-day-old pigs weaned at 21 days of age, respectively. Therefore, there is an urgent need to understand the roles and dietary requirements of NEAA in swine nutrition. | 4 | Protein hydrolysates in animal nutrition:Industrial production, bioactive peptides,and functional significance显示文摘Recent years have witnessed growing interest in the role of peptides in animal nutrition. Chemical, enzymatic, or microbial hydrolysis of proteins in animal by-products or plant-source feedstuffs before feeding is an attractive means of generating high-quality small or large peptides that have both nutritional and physiological or regulatory functions in livestock, poultry and fish. These peptides may also be formed from ingested proteins in the gastrointestinal tract, but the types of resultant peptides can vary greatly with the physiological conditions of the animals and the composition of the diets. In the small intestine, large peptides are hydrolyzed to small peptides,which are absorbed into enterocytes faster than free amino acids(AAs) to provide a more balanced pattern of AAs in the blood circulation. Some peptides of plant or animal sources also have antimicrobial, antioxidant,antihypertensive, and immunomodulatory activities. Those peptides which confer biological functions beyond their nutritional value are called bioactive peptides. They are usually 2–20 AA residues in length but may consist of >20AA residues. Inclusion of some(e.g. 2–8%) animal-protein hydrolysates(e.g., porcine intestine, porcine mucosa,salmon viscera, or poultry tissue hydrolysates) or soybean protein hydrolysates in practical corn-and soybean mealbased diets can ensure desirable rates of growth performance and feed efficiency in weanling pigs, young calves,post-hatching poultry, and fish. | 6 | Towards an Esox lucius inspired multimodal robotic fish显示文摘In this paper, we further explore multimodal locomotion via an updated robotic fish model based on Esox lucius. Besides the improved actuation properties like higher torque servomotors and powerful electronics,the robotic fish has some innovative mechanical design to pursue diverse swimming modes and superior performance. Specifically, we introduced a ±50° yawing head joint that functions as the neck for enhancing turning ability. A pair of pectoral mechanisms with two DOFs per fin is constructed to achieve 3-D swimming and to enrich multiple pectoral motions. At the control level, an improved central pattern generator(CPG) model allowing for free adjustment of the phase relationship among outputs is employed to produce rhythmic signals of multimodal swimming. Extensive experiments were carried out to examine how characteristic parameters in CPGs including amplitude, frequency, and phase lag affect the swimming performance. | 8 | Seasonal Changes in Food Uptake by the Sea Cucumber Apostichopus japonicus in a Farm Pond: Evidence from C and N Stable Isotopes显示文摘This study investigated the seasonal changes in carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) stable isotope values of several typical food sources of Apostichopus japonicus in a farm pond, including particulate organic matter (POM), macroalgae, benthic microalgae and animals such as nematode and copepod. The stable isotope technique was used to quantify relative contributions of various sources to the food uptake by A. japonicus. The results showed that significant changes occurred in the C and N stable isotope values of sea cucumber food sources due to the seasonality of micro-or macroalgae prosperity and the fluctuation of environmental conditions. The sea cucumber A. japonicus exhibited corresponding alterations in feeding strategy in response to the changes in food conditions. Calculation with a stable isotope mixing model showed that macroalgae was the principal food source for A. japonicus throughout the 1-yr investigation, with the relative contribution averaging 28.1% - 63.2%. The relative contributions of other food sources such as copepod and nematode, POM, benthic microalgae to the total food uptake by sea cucumber averaged 22.6% - 39.1%, 6.3% - 22.2%, 2.8% - 6.5%, and 2.8% - 4.2%, respectively. Together these results indicated that the seasonal changes in food sources led to the obvious temporal differences in the relative contribution of various food sources utilized by A. japonicus. | 9 | Effects of Area Discontinuity at Nozzle Inlet on the Characteristics of Self-resonating Cavitating Waterjet显示文摘The current research on self-resonating cavitating waterjet(SRCW) mainly focuses on the generation mechanism and structure optimization.Researches relating to the influences of disturbances at nozzle inlet on the characteristics of the jet are rarely available.In order to further improve the performance of SRCW,effects of area discontinuity(enlargement and contraction) are experimentally investigated using three organ-pipe nozzles.Axial pressure oscillation peak and amplitude as well as aggressive erosion intensity of the jet are used to evaluate the effects.The results reveal that area enlargement and contraction affect the peak differently,depending on the inlet pressure,nozzle geometry,and standoff distance;while area contraction always improves the amplitude regardless of these factors.At inlet pressures of 10 MPa and 20 MPa,area discontinuity improves the peak at almost all the testing standoff distances,while this only happens at smaller standoff distances with the inlet pressure increased to 30 MPa.The capability of area discontinuity for improving the amplitude is enhancing with increasing inlet pressure.Moreover,the cavitation erosion ability of the jet can be largely enhanced around the optimum standoff distance,depending on the type of area discontinuity and nozzle geometry.A preliminary analysis of the influence of area discontinuity on the disturbance waves in the flow is also performed.The proposed research provides a new method for effectively enhancing the performance of SRCW. | LI Deng KANG Yong DING Xiaolong WANG Xiaochuan FANG Zhenlong | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2016,29,4: | 8 |

| 11 | A highly porous animal bone-derived char with a superiority of promoting nZVI for Cr(Ⅵ)sequestration in agricultural soils显示文摘Paddy soil and irrigation water are commonly contaminated with hexavalent chromium[Cr(Ⅵ)]near urban industrial areas,thereby threatening the safety of agricultural products and human health.In this study,we develop a porous and high specific area bone char(BC)to support nanoscale zero-valent iron(n ZVI)and apply it to remediate Cr(Ⅵ)pollution in water and paddy soil under anaerobic conditions.The batch experiments reveal that BC/n ZVI exhibits a higher removal capacity of 516.7 mg/(g·n ZVI)for Cr(Ⅵ)than n ZVI when normalized to the actual n ZVI content,which is 2.8 times that of n ZVI;moreover,the highest n ZVI utilization is the n ZVI loading of 15%(BC/n ZVI15).The Cr(Ⅵ)removal efficiency of BC/n ZVI15 decreases with increasing p H(4–10).Coexisting ions(phosphate and carbonate)and humic acid can inhibit the removal of Cr(Ⅵ)with BC/n ZVI15.Additionally,BC exhibits a strong advantage in promoting Cr(Ⅵ)removal by n ZVI compared to the widely used biochar and activated carbon.Our results demonstrate that reduction and coprecipitation are the dominant Cr(Ⅵ)removal mechanisms.Furthermore,BC/n ZVI15 shows a significantly higher reduction and removal efficiency as well as a strong anti-interference ability for Cr(Ⅵ)in paddy soil,as compared to n ZVI.These findings provide a new effective material for remediating Cr(Ⅵ)pollution from water and soil. | Kai Liu Fangbai Li Qingwen Tian Chengrong Nie Yibing Ma Zhenlong Zhu Liping Fang Yuanying Huang Siwen Liu | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,6: | 7 |

| 13 | Chatter stability and precision during high-speed ultrasonic vibration cutting of a thin-walled titanium cylinder显示文摘Titanium alloys are widely used in the aviation and aerospace industries due to their unique mechanical and physical properties.Specifically,thin-walled titanium(Ti)cylinders have received increasing attention for their applications as rocket engine casings,aircraft landing gear,and aero-engine hollow shaft due to their observed improvement in the thrust-to-weight ratio.However,the conventional cutting(CC)process is not appropriate for thin-walled Ti cylinders due to its low thermal conductivity,high strength,and low stiffness.Instead,high-speed ultrasonic vibration cutting(HUVC)assisted processing has recently proved highly effective for Ti-alloy machining.In this study,HUVC technology is employed to perform external turning of a thinwalled Ti cylinder,which represents a new application of HUVC.First,the kinematics,tool path,and dynamic cutting thickness of HUVC are evaluated.Second,the phenomenon of mode-coupling chatter is analyzed to determine the effects and mechanism of HUVC by establishing a critical cutting thickness model.HUVC can increase the critical cutting thickness and effectively reduce the average cutting force,thus reducing the energy intake of the system.Finally,comparison experiments are conducted between HUVC and CC processes.The results indicate that the diameter error rate is 10%or less for HUVC and 51%for the CC method due to a 40%reduction in the cutting force.In addition,higher machining precision and better surface roughness are achieved during thin-walled Ti cylinder manufacturing using HUVC. | Zhenlong PENG Deyuan ZHANG Xiangyu ZHANG | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,12: | 6 |

The mechanisms responsible for the epigenetic regulation of protein expression and functions include chromatin remodeling; DNA methylation(occurring at the 5′-position of cytosine residues within CpG dinucleotides); and histone modifications(acetylation, methylation, phosphorylation, and ubiquitination). Like maternal malnutrition, undernutrition during the neonatal period also reduces growth performance and feed efficiency(weight gain:feed intake; also known as weightgain efficiency) in postweaning pigs by 5–10%, thereby increasing the days necessary to reach the market bodyweight. Supplementing functional amino acids(e.g., arginine and glutamine) and vitamins(e.g., folate) play a key role in activating the mammalian target of rapamycin signaling and regulating the provision of methyl donors for DNA and protein methylation. Therefore, these nutrients are beneficial for the dietary treatment of metabolic disorders in offspring with intrauterine growth restriction or neonatal malnutrition.
