Solid-state fermentation of corn-soybean meal mixed feed with Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecium for degrading antinutritional factors and enhancing nutritional value显示文摘Background: Corn and soybean meal(SBM) are two of the most common feed ingredients used in pig feeds. However, a variety of antinutritional factors(ANFs) present in corn and SBM can interfere with the bioavailability of nutrients and have negative health effects on the pigs. In the present study, two-stage fermentation using Bacillus subtilis followed by Enterococcus faecium was carried out to degrade ANFs and improve the nutritional quality of corn and SBM mixed feed. Furthermore, the microbial composition and in vitro nutrient digestibility of inoculated mixed feed were determined and compared those of the uninoculated controls. Results: During the fermentation process, B. subtilis and lactic acid bacteria(LAB) were the main dominant bacteria in the solid-state fermented inoculated feed, and fermentation produced a large amount of lactic acid(170 mmo L/kg),which resulted in a lower pH(5.0 vs. 6.4) than the fermented uninoculated feed. The amounts of soybean antigenic proteins(β-conglycinin and glycinin) in mixed feed were significantly decreased after first-stage fermentation with B. subtilis. Inoculated mixed feed following two-stage fermentation contained greater concentratioin of crude protein(CP), ash and total phosphorus(P) compared to uninoculated feed, whereas the concentrations of neutral detergent fiber(NDF), hemicellulose and phytate P in fermendted inoculated feed declined(P < 0.05) by 38%, 53%, and 46%,respectively. Notably, the content of trichloroacetic acid soluble protein(TCA-SP), particularly that of small peptides and free amino acids(AA), increased 6.5 fold following two-stage fermentation. There was no difference in the total AA content between fermented inoculated and uninoculated feed. However, aromatic AAs(Phe and Tyr) and Lys in inoculated feed increased, and some polar AAs, including Arg, Asp, and Glu, decreased compared with the uninoculated feed. In vitro dry matter and CP digestibility of inoculated feed improved(P < 0.05) compared with the uninoculated feed. Conclusions: Our results suggest that two-stage fermentation using B. subtilis followed by E. faecium is an effective approach to improve the quality of corn-soybean meal mixed feed. | Changyou Shi Yu Zhang Zeqing Lu Yizhen Wang | 2017 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2017,8,4: | 44

Observation and modeling of NPP for Pinus elliottii plantation in subtropical China显示文摘Based on the stem analysis of 59 individuals of Pinus elliottii in combination with tree biomass models, we calculated annual biomass increment of forest plots at Qianyanzhou Ecological Station, Chinese Academy of Sciences in subtropical China. In addition, canopy layer and community NPP were calcu- lated based on 12 years’ litter fall data. NPP of the 21-year-old forest was estimated by using the BIOME BGC model; and both measured NPP and estimated NPP were compared with flux data. Community biomass was 10574 g·m-2; its distribution patterns in tree layer, shrub layer, herbaceous layer, tree root, herbaceous and shrub roots and fine roots were 7542, 480, 239, 1810, 230, 274 and 239 g·m-2, respectively. From 1999 to 2004, the average annual growth rate and litter fall were 741 g·m-2·a-1 (381.31 gC·m-2·a-1) and 849 g·m?2·a?1 (463 gC·m-2·a-1), respectively. There was a significant corre- lation between annual litter fall and annual biomass increment; and the litter fall was 1.19 times the biomass increment of living trees. From 1985 to 2005, average NPP and GPP values based on BGC modeling were 630.88 (343.31 - 906.42 gC·m-2·a-1) and 1 800 gC·m-2·a-1 (1351.62 - 2318.26 gC·m-2·a-1). Regression analysis showed a linear relationship (R2=0.48) between the measured and simulated tree layer NPP values. NPP accounted for 30.2% (25.6%-32.9%) of GPP, while NEP ac- counted for 57.5% (48.1%-66.5%) of tree-layer NPP and 41.74% (37%-52%) of stand NPP. Soil respi- ration accounted for 77.0% of measured tree NPP and 55.9% of the measured stand NPP. NEE based on eddy covariance method was 12.97% higher than the observed NEP. | MA ZeQing LIU QiJing WANG HuiMin LI XuanRan ZENG HuiQing XU WenJia | 2008 | Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,7: | 9
Genome-wide Dissection of Co-selected UV-B Responsive Pathways in the UV-B Adaptation of Qingke显示文摘Qingke (Tibetan hulless barley) has long been cultivated and exposed to long-term and strong UV-B radiation on the Tibetan Plateau, which renders it an ideal species for elucidating novel UV-B responsive mechanisms in plants. Here we report a comprehensive metabolite profiling and metabolite-based genome-wide association study (mGWAS) using 196 diverse qingke and barley accessions. Our results demonstrated both constitutive and induced accumulation, and common genetic regulation, of metabolites from different branches of the phenylpropanoid pathway that are involved in UV-B protection. A total of 90 significant mGWAS loci for these metabolites were identified in barley-qingke differentiation regions, and a number of high-level metabolite trait alleles were found to be significantly enriched in qingke, suggesting co-selection of various phenylpropanoids. Upon dissecting the entire phenylpropanoid pathway, we identified some key determinants controlling natural variation of phenylpropanoid content, including three novel proteins, a flavone C-pentosyltransferase, a tyramine hydroxycinnamoyl acyltransferase, and a MYB transcription factor. Our study, furthermore, demonstrated co-selection of both constitutive and induced phenylpropanoids for UV-B protection in qingke. | Xingquan Zeng Hongjun Yuan Xuekui Dong Meng Peng Xinyu Jing Qijun Xu Tang Tang Yulin Wang Sang Zha Meng Gao Congzhi Li Chujin Shu Zexiu Wei Wangmu Qimei Yuzhen Basang Jiabu Dunzhu Zeqing Li Lijun Bai Jian Shi Zhigang Zheng Sibin Yu Alisdair R.Fernie Jie Luo Tashi Nyima | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,1: | 9
Effects of casein glycomacropeptide supplementation on growth performance, intestinal morphology, intestinal barrier permeability and inflammatory responses in Escherichia coli K88 challenged piglets显示文摘Casein glycomacropeptide(CGMP) is a bioactive peptide derived from milk with multiple functions. This study was aimed at evaluating the effects of CGMP as a potential feed additive on growth performance, intestinal morphology, intestinal barrier permeability and inflammatory responses of Escherichia coli K88(E. coli K88) challenged piglets. Eighteen weaning piglets were randomly assigned to three groups.Control group and K88 challenged group received a basal diet, and CGMP treated group received the basal diet supplemented with 1% of CGMP powder. The trail lasted for 12 days, K88 was orally administered to the piglets of K88 challenged group and CGMP treated group on days 8-10. The results showed that the diet containing 1% CGMP significantly alleviated the decrease in average daily gain(P <0.05),increase in pathogenic bacteria amounts in intestinal contents(P < 0.05), intestinal morphology(P > 0.05) and barrier permeability damage(P < 0.05), and acute inflammatory response(P < 0.05)induced by E. coli K88 infection. In conclusion, CGMP supplementation in the diet protected the weaning piglets against E. coli K88 infection. | Yili Rong Zeqing Lu Haiwen Zhang Lin Zhang Deguang Song Yizhen Wang | 2015 | Animal Nutrition2015,,2: | 7
Deficiency of Mouse CD4^+CD25^+Foxp3^+ Regulatory T Cells in Xenogeneic Pig Thymus-Grafted Nude Mice Suffering from Autoimmune Diseases显示文摘Xenogeneic thymus transplantation can efficiently induce specific immune tolerance to donor antigens in athymic recipients. However, many nude mice suffer from autoimmune diseases (AID) for over 10 weeks after xenogeneic thymus transplantation. CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ regulatory T (Treg) cells were recently determined to play a pivotal role in keeping immune tolerance in humans and mice. Thus, we investigated this subpopulation of Treg cells in the periphery of pig thymus-grafted nude mice suffering from AID. Our results showed that the expression of Foxp3, CTLA-4 and GITR on mouse CD4+CD25+ T cells and the ratio of CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ Treg cells to CD4+ T cells were significantly decreased in the periphery of pig thymus-grafted nude mice suffering from AID, compared with healthy pig or mouse thymus-grafted nude mice. Furthermore, mouse CD4+CD25+ T cells in pig thymus-grafted nude mice suffering from AID showed more severe deficiency in immunosuppressive function compared with the counterpart in xenogeneic pig or syngeneic thymus-grafted nude mice without AID. Thus, the decreased frequency, altered phenotype and functional deficiency of mouse CD4+CD25+ Treg cells in pig thymus-grafted nude mice may contribute to the development of AID in this model. | Baojun Zhang Chenming Sun Yanyan Qu Aijun Zhang Jun Liu Lianjun Zhang Zeqing Niu Yong Zhao | 2008 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2008,5,5: | 6
CLASSICAL AND HOMOGENIZED EXPRESSIONS FOR BUCKLING SOLUTIONS OF FUNCTIONALLY GRADED MATERIAL LEVINSON BEAMS显示文摘The relationship between the critical buckling loads of functionally graded material(FGM) Levinson beams(LBs) and those of the corresponding homogeneous Euler-Bernoulli beams(HEBBs) is investigated. Properties of the beam are assumed to vary continuously in the depth direction. The governing equations of the FGM beam are derived based on the Levinson beam theory, in which a quadratic variation of the transverse shear strain through the depth is included.By eliminating the axial displacement as well as the rotational angle in the governing equations,an ordinary differential equation in terms of the deflection of the FGM LBs is derived, the form of which is the same as that of HEBBs except for the definition of the load parameter. By solving the eigenvalue problem of ordinary differential equations under different boundary conditions clamped(C), simply-supported(S), roller(R) and free(F) edges combined, a uniform analytical formulation of buckling loads of FGM LBs with S-S, C-C, C-F, C-R and S-R edges is presented for those of HEBBs with the same boundary conditions. For the C-S beam the above-mentioned equation does not hold. Instead, a transcendental equation is derived to find the critical buckling load for the FGM LB which is similar to that for HEBB with the same ends. The significance of this work lies in that the solution of the critical buckling load of a FGM LB can be reduced to that of the HEBB and calculation of three constants whose values only depend upon the throughthe-depth gradient of the material properties and the geometry of the beam. So, a homogeneous and classical expression for the buckling solution of FGM LBs is accomplished. | Shirong Li Xuan Wang Zeqing Wan | 2015 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2015,28,5: | 6

Fermented mixed feed alters growth performance, carcass traits, meat quality and muscle fatty acid and amino acid profiles in finishing pigs显示文摘This study was conducted to investigate the effects of fermented mixed feed(FMF)on growth performance, carcass traits, meat quality, muscle amino acid and fatty acid composition and mRNA expression levels of genes related to lipid metabolism in finishing pigs.In the present study,144 finishing pigs(Duroc×Berkshire×Jiaxing Black)were randomly allocated to 3 dietary treatments with 4 replicate pens per group and 12 pigs per pen.The dietary treatments included a basal diet(CON),a basal diet+5%FMF and a basal diet+10%FMF.The experiment lasted 38 d after 4 d of acclimation. The results showed that 5%and 10%FMF significantly increased the average daily gain(ADG)of the females but not the males(P<0.05),but FMF supplementation showed no impact on carcass traits.Moreover,10%FMF supplementation increased the meat color45 min and meat color24 h values, while it decreased the shear force relative to CON(P<0.05).In addition,10%FMF significantly increased the contents of flavor amino acids(FAA),total essential AA(EAA),total non-EAA(NEAA)and total AA relative to CON(P<0.05).Furthermore,the diet supplemented with 10%FMF significantly increased the concentration of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA),n-6 PUFA and total PUFA,and the PUFA to saturated fatty acids ratio(P<0.05),suggesting that FMF supplementation increased meat quality. Moreover, compared with the CON,10%FMF supplementation increased the mRNA expression of lipogenic genes, including CEBPα,PPARγ,SREBP1 and FABP4,and upregulated the expression of unsaturated fatty acid synthesis(ACAA1 and FADS2).Together,our results suggest that 10%FMF dietary supplementation improved the female pigs’growth performance, improved the meat quality and altered the profiles of muscle fatty acids and amino acids in finishing pigs. This study provides a reference for the production of high-quality pork. | Shiqi Liu Man Du Yuang Tu Wenjing You Wentao Chen Guoliang Liu Junyue Li Yizhen Wang Zeqing Lu Tenghao Wang Tizhong Shan | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023,,1: | 4
Restoration of Eroded Thickness of the Neogene Strata in the Western Qaidam Basin and Its Significance for Oil and Gas Occurrence显示文摘During the Pleistocene, the western Qaidam Basin has largely experienced strong structural reconstruction and strong erosion.First, the eroded thickness of Neogene strata was restored approximately by the stratigraphic profile comparison method and plane trend surface restoring method;then, accurate calculation of erosion was recovered using vitrinite reflectance, and the erosion that was restored by the trend surface restoring method was corrected;finally,a distribution map of cumulative erosion was produced. This study marks an important achievement in that one of the most important parameters of basin tectonic evolution, sedimentary evolution, and oil and gas accumulation history has been obtained, and that a basic geological problem has been solved in the Qaidam Basin. The areas with high erosion and low erosion are shown in the map and a close relation between the distribution of oil and gas fields and erosion was recognized.Large and medium oil and gas fields are mainly distributed in areas with medium and low erosion. It is difficult to form large-scale oil and gas accumulation in areas in which erosion is more than 2000 m.The mechanism of the relation between oil and gas distribution and erosion is explained. This study will be of use in predicting the distribution of oil and gas. | SUN Ping GUO Zeqing HE Wenyuan LIU Weihong | 2017 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,4: | 3
Natural Gas Types,Distribution Controlling Factors, and Future Exploration in the Western Qaidam Basin显示文摘The Paleogene and Neogene oil and gas in the western Qaidam basin have a regular distribution in three concentric zones from the edge to the center of the basin.Natural gas mainly occurs in the inner zone, and the gas-oil ratio of the northern area of the basin is significantly higher than that of the southern area.Large amounts of carbon isotope data of natural gas, plotted in Xshaped and comprehensive identification diagrams for the southern area and northern area, respectively, were used to identify the types of natural gas.The large-scale distribution of natural gas is highly consistent with the Ro values of major source rocks, but is poorly correlated with the type of organic matter. This indicates that the main controlling factor of natural gas distribution is organic matter maturity, and the kerogen types act as the basis for the formation of different types of natural gas.Paleouplifts and squeezed anticlines near hydrocarbon generation depression centers, which are major natural gas-rich regions, control the migration directions of natural gas, while hydrocarbon migration pathways and fault systems connecting gas sources are the most important factors for natural gas reservoir formation in the inner basin. Therefore, favorable zones for natural gas distribution can be predicted on the basis of the distribution of thermal evolution and the gas generation intensity of major source rocks as well as the structural map.The Shizigou-YoushashanYingdong-Dawusi,Youquanzi –Kaitemilike- Youdunzi, and Xiaoliangshan – Nanyishan- Dafengshan structural belts are favorable zones for natural gas accumulation. This study has important theoretical and practical significance for future natural gas exploration. | GUO Zeqing SUN Ping LI Jian ZHANG Lin LIU Weihong TIAN Jixian ZHANG Shaosheng ZENG Xu | 2014 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2014,88,4: | 3
In-plane dynamic Green's functions for inclined and uniformly distributed loads in a multi-layered transversely isotropic half-space显示文摘The dynamic stiffness method combined with the Fourier transform is utilized to derive the in-plane Green’s functions for inclined and uniformly distributed loads in a multi-layered transversely isotropic(TI)half-space.The loaded layer is fixed to obtain solutions restricted in it and the corresponding reactions forces, which are then applied to the total system with the opposite sign.By adding solutions restricted in the loaded layer to solutions from the reaction forces, the global solutions in the wavenumber domain are obtained, and the dynamic Green’s functions in the space domain are recovered by the inverse Fourier transform. The presented formulations can be reduced to the isotropic case developed by Wolf(1985),and are further verified by comparisons with existing solutions in a uniform isotropic as well as a layered TI halfspace subjected to horizontally distributed loads which are special cases of the more general problem addressed. The deduced Green’s functions,in conjunction with boundary element methods, will lead to significant advances in the investigation of a variety of wave scattering, wave radiation and soil-structure interaction problems in a layered TI site.Selected numerical results are given to investigate the influence of material anisotropy, frequency of excitation, inclination angle and layered on the responses of displacement and stress, and some conclusions are drawn. | Ba Zhenning Kang Zeqing Liang Jianwen | 2018 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2018,17,2: | 3
Dynamic analysis of gene expression and determination of chemicals in agarwood in Aquilaria sinensis显示文摘Agarwood is the resinous heartwood of Aquilaria species. However, low yields and high costs of existing stimulation methods have led to the need for new techniques to produce agarwood rapidly and effectively. We developed a biological agarwood-inducing technique(Agar-Bit)that produces high yields and quality within 6 months. To better understand agarwood formation by Agar-Bit,dynamic gene expressions of key synthetases pathways of sesquiterpenes and chalcone-related enzymes at different times were determined after both Agar-Bit and the traditional burning chisel drilling(BCD)stimulation on Aquilaria sinensis trees. The qRT-PCR results show that some characteristic synthase genes were expressed at greatly different levels and times compared with the controls. For the Agar-Bit technology, main changes were after the 3rd or 5th month, while BCD expression clearly changed at the 5th month.Essential oils and total chromone contents were simultaneously determined. In the Agar-Bit group, both were higher and similar to natural levels. The Agar-Bit methodology is a new option for producing agarwood as demonstrated by genetic and chemical aspects. The differences in gene expression within 6 months for both groups indicates that the mechanisms of the two methods are different. These findings provide information on genetic variation during the process of agarwood formation. | Zeqing Wu Wanzhen Liu Jing Li Liangwen Yu Li Lin | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,5: | 3
Co-fermented defatted rice bran alters gut microbiota and improves growth performance, antioxidant capacity, immune status and intestinal permeability of finishing pigs显示文摘Based on preparation of co-fermented defatted rice bran(DFRB)using Bacillus subtilis,Saccharomyces cerevisiae,Lactobacillus plantarum and phytase, the present study aimed to evaluate the effects of cofermented DFRB on growth performance, antioxidant capacity, immune status, gut microbiota and permeability in finishing pigs.Ninety finishing pigs(85.30±0.97 kg)were randomly assigned to 3treatments(3 replicates/treatment)with a basal diet(Ctrl),a basal diet supplemented with 10% unfermented DFRB(UFR),and a basal diet supplemented with 10% fermented DFRB(FR)for 30 d.Results revealed that the diet supplemented with FR notably(P<0.05)improved the average daily gain(ADG),gain to feed ratio(G:F)and the digestibility of crude protein, amino acids and dietary fiber of finishing pigs compared with UFR.Additionally,FR supplementation significantly(P<0.05)increased total antioxidant capacity, the activities of superoxide dismutase and catalase, and decreased the content of malonaldehyde in serum.Furthermore,FR remarkably(P<0.05)increased serum levels of Ig G,antiinflammatory cytokines(IL-22 and IL-23)and reduced pro-inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-1β and INF-γ).The decrease of serum diamine oxidase activity and serum D-lactate content in the FR group(P<0.05)suggested an improvement in intestinal permeability.Supplementation of FR also elevated the content of acetate and butyrate in feces(P<0.05).Moreover,FR enhanced gut microbial richness and the abundance of fiber-degrading bacteria such as Clostridium butyricum and Lactobacillus amylovorus.Correlation analyses indicated dietary fiber in FR was associated with improvements in immune status, intestinal permeability and the level of butyrate-producing microbe C.butyricum, which was also verified by the in vitro fermentation analysis. These findings provided an experimental and theoretical basis for the application of fermented DFRB in finishing pigs. | Weifa Su Zipeng Jiang Cheng Wang Yu Zhang Tao Gong Fengqin Wang Mingliang Jin Yizhen Wang Zeqing Lu | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,4: | 3
Homogenized and classical expressions for static bending solutions for functionally graded material Levinson beams显示文摘The exact relationship between the bending solutions of functionally graded material(FGM) beams based on the Levinson beam theory and those of the corresponding homogenous beams based on the classical beam theory is presented for the material properties of the FGM beams changing continuously in the thickness direction. The deflection, the rotational angle, the bending moment, and the shear force of FGM Levinson beams(FGMLBs) are given analytically in terms of the deflection of the reference homogenous Euler-Bernoulli beams(HEBBs) with the same loading, geometry, and end supports. Consequently, the solution of the bending of non-homogenous Levinson beams can be simplified to the calculation of transition coefficients, which can be easily determined by variation of the gradient of material properties and the geometry of beams. This is because the classical beam theory solutions of homogenous beams can be easily determined or are available in the textbook of material strength under a variety of boundary conditions. As examples, for different end constraints, particular solutions are given for the FGMLBs under specified loadings to illustrate validity of this approach. These analytical solutions can be used as benchmarks to check numerical results in the investigation of static bending of FGM beams based on higher-order shear deformation theories. | Shirong LI Zeqing WAN Xuan WANG | 2015 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2015,36,7: | 2

Experimental and numerical investigation of TVOC concentrations and ventilation dilution in enclosed train cabin显示文摘Air pollution in trains is an important factor threatening human health, which has attracted more and more attention in the worldwide public health researches. In this study, one cabin of a fully enclosed train was taken as an example to conduct experimental and numerical research on pollution level and distribution characteristic of total volatile organic compound(TVOC).The results show that when the average emission rate under daily environmental conditions was taken as the reference,TVOC concentration in the cabin exceeded the limit level of Chinese Indoor Air Quality Standard by more than 4 times. The obvious pollutants accumulative phenomenon could be found at bottoms and corners under the action of airflow.Setting air inlets at the roof of the train, mean age of air ranged from 30 s to 50 s in the breathing area. The concentration of pollutants was the lowest at 2.5-5 m from the center point of the cabin structure, and the ventilation efficiency was the highest. The introduction of clean fresh air could effectively eliminate pollutants. When the complete displacement ventilation rates were 51.4 h^(-1) and 28.6 h_1,the removal efficiency of pollutants was about 0.85 and 0.48 mg/m3 per minute, respectively. This study was helpful to the improvement and optimization design of air quality and ventilation mode in trains. | Le Zhao Huang Zhou Yuzhen Jin Zeqing Li | 2022 | Building Simulation2022,15,5: | 1
