| 1 | Expression of nuclear factor-KB in hepatocellular carcinoma and its relation with the X protein of hepatitis B virus显示文摘AIM In this study we investigated therelationship of the X protein of HBV and nuclearfactor-KB (NF-κB) and the expression of NF-KB inhuman hepatocellular carcinoma tissues.METHODS Immunohistochemistry SP methodwas used to detect the expression of NF-κB and the X protein of HBV in human hepatocellularcarcinoma tissues of 52 cases. Gene transfectionmediated by lipofectamine was used to transfectthe eukaryotic expression vector pCDNA3. 1-HBXof HBV x gene into human hepatocellularcarcinoma cell line HCC-9204 and NF-κB wasdetected.RESULTS NF-κB was widely expressed inhuman hepatocellular carcinoma tissues in atotal of 52 cases and its expression was relatedto the X protein of HBV. NF-KB was localizedboth in the cytoplasm and . The nuclei ofhepatocellular carcinoma cells in 11 cases whichwere positive for the X protein of HBV while in 41cases negative for the X protein of HBV, NF-Kbwas only localized in the cytoplasm ofhepatocellular carcinoma cells but translocatedto the nuclei of hepatocellular carcinoma cellsafter the eukaryotic expression vectorpCDNA3.1-HBX was transfected into HCC-9204cells.CONCLUSION This study strongly suggeststhat the nuclear factor NF-KB is widely expressedin hepatocellular carcinoma tissues in differentstyles according to the expression of the Xprotein of HBV. NF-κB is abnormally activated inhepatocellular carcinoma, which is probablyrelated to the X protein of HBV. | 5 | Cytochrome P450 2E1 genetic polymorphism and gastric cancer in Changle,Fujian Province显示文摘AIM: Genetic polymorphism in enzymes of carcinogen metabolism has been found to have the influence on the susceptibility to cancer. Cytochrome P450 2E1 ( CYP2 E1) is considered to play an important role in the metabolic activation of procarcinogens such as N-nitroscoamines and Iow molecular weight organic compounds. The purpose of this study is to determine whether CYP450 2Elpolymorphisms are associated with risk s of gastric cancer.METHODS: We conducted a population based case-control study in Changle county, Fujian Province, a high-risk region of gastric cancer in China. Ninety-one incident gastric cancer patients and ninety-four healthy controls were included in our study. Datas including dsmographic characteristcs, diet intake, and alcohol and tobacco consumption of indivduals in our study were completed by a standardized questionnaire. PCR-RFLP revealed three genotypes: heterozygote (C1/C2) and two homozygotes (C1/C1 and C2/C2) in CYP2E1.RESULTS: The frequency of variant genotypes (C1/C2 and C2/C2) in gastric cancer cases and controls was 36.3% and 24.5%, respectively. The rare homozygous C2/C2 genotype was found in 6 indivduals in gastric cancer group(6.6%),whereas there was only one in the control group (1.1%).However, there was no statistically significan difference between the two groups (two-tailed Fisher′s exact test, P =0.066). Indivduals in gastric cancer group were more likely to carry genotype C1/C2 (odds ratio, OR = 1.50) and C2/C2(OR = 7.34) than indivduals in control group (X2 = 4.597, for trend P=0.032). The frequencies of genofypes with the C2allele ( C1/C2 and C2/C2 genotypes) were compared with those of genotypes without C2 allele ( C1/C1 genotype )among indivduals in gastric cancer group and control group according to the pattern of gastric cancer risk factors. | 8 | Unscented Kalman filtering in the additive noise case显示文摘The unscented Kalman filter(UKF) has four implementations in the additive noise case,according to whether the state is augmented with noise vectors and whether a new set of sigma points is redrawn from the predicted state(which is so-called resampling) for the observation prediction.This paper concerns the differences of performances for those implementations,such as accuracy,adaptability,computational complexity,etc.The conditionally equivalent relationships between the augmented and non-augmented unscented transforms(UTs) are proved for several sampling strategies that are commonly used.Then,we find that the augmented and non-augmented UKFs have the same filter results with the additive measurement noise,but only have the same state predictions with the additive process noise.Resampling is not believed to be necessary in some researches.However,we find out that resampling can be helpful for an adaptive Kalman gain.This will improve the convergence and accuracy of the filter when the large scale state modeling bias or unknown maneuvers occur.Finally,some universal designing principles for a practical UKF are given as follows:1) for the additive observation noise case,it's better to use the non-augmented UKF;2) for the additive process noise case,when the small state modeling bias or maneuvers are involved,the non-resampling algorithms with state whether augmented or not are candidates for filters;3) the resampling and non-augmented algorithm is the only choice while the large state modeling bias or maneuvers are latent. | LIU Ye1,YU AnXi1,ZHU JuBo2 & LIANG DianNong1 1 College of Electronic Science and Engineering,National University of Defense Technology,Changsha 410073,China 2 Science College,National University of Defense Technology,Changsha 410073,China | 2010 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,4: | 18 |

| 10 | Nutrients concentration and changes in decade-scale in the central Bohai Sea显示文摘The nutrients contents and distributions are discussed briefly, based on the data obtained in 1998~1999. Besides explanation of the results,a 20 a time series data of nutrients and biological parameters for central Bohai Sea are reviewed. It is found that both concentration and relative content of nutrients have been changed dramatically. The increase of nitrogen and decrease of phosphate and silicate led to the dramatically increase of N/P ratio and the decrease of Si/N ratio. The situation of nitrogen limiting in central Bohai Sea is gradually changing to that of relative lack of phosphate and silicate. The decrease of the Huanghe River input to the Bohai Sea may be responsible for this change. These in turn may limit the growth of diatom and thus promote the development of pyrrophyta if other conditions (e.g. temperature and hydrodynamics) are suitable. Through field investigation,explanation of seismic profiles and analysis of the balanced sections,we can divide the decollement zones into 3 categories: (1) the deep level decolle-ment zones,including the crust-mantle decollement layer,intracrustal decollement layer,and presinian basal decollement layer. The main structural styles of their deformation are the crust-mantle decoup-ling detachment deformation,the basal ductile shear deformation,etc.; (2) the middle level decollement zones,including the Cambrian-Ordovician decollement layer,the Silurian decollement layer,etc.,the main structural styles of their deformation are the isopachous fold,the angular fold,the saddle struc-ture,and the combination styles of them; and (3) the shallow level decollement zones,including the Xujiahe Formation decollement layer of Upper Triassic and the Jurassic decollement layers,the main structural styles of their deformation are the thrust-nappe tectonic,the pop-up,the triangle zone ,the duplex,etc. Multi-level decollement zones not only made the Longmenshan thrust belt develop many different deformation styles from deep place to shallow place,but also made some local areas have the superimposition of the tectonic deformation apparently. | 18 | An accurately delineated Permian-Triassic Boundary in continental successions显示文摘The Permian-Triassic Boundary Stratigraphic Set (PTBST), characteristic of the GSSP section of Meishan and widespread in marine Permian-Triassic Boundary (PTB) sequences of South China, is used to trace and recognize the PTB in a continental sequence at Chahe (Beds 66f―68c). Diversified Permian plant fossils extended to the PTBST, and a few relicts survived above that level. Sporomorphs are dominated by fern spores of Permian nature below the PTBST, above which they are replaced by gymnosperm pollen of Triassic aspect. In the nearby Zhejue Section, the continental PTBST is charac- terized by the fungal 'spike' recorded in many places throughout the world. The boundary claybeds (66f and 68a,c) of the PTBST are composed of mixed illite-montmorillonite layers analogous with those at Meishan. They contain volcanogenic minerals such as β quartz and zircon. U/Pb dating of the upper claybed gives ages of 247.5 and 252.6 Ma for Beds 68a and 68c respectively, averaging 250 Ma. In con- trast to the situation in Xinjiang and South Africa, the sediment sequence of the Permian-Triassic tran- sition in the Chahe section (Beds 56―80) become finer upward. Shallowing and coarsening upward is not, therefore, characteristic of the Permian-Triassic transition everywhere. The occurrence of relicts of the Gigantopteris Flora in the Kayitou Fm. indicates that, unlike most marine biota, relicts of this pa- leophytic flora survived into the earliest Triassic. It is concluded that Bed 67 at Chahe corresponds to Bed 27 at Meishan, and that the PTB should be put within the 60-cm-thick Bed 67b④, now put at its base tentatively.
