2Progress in Nanocellulose Preparation and Application显示文摘Nanocellulose is a biodegradable, renewable, nonmeltable polymeric material that is insoluble in most solvents due to hydrogen bonding and crystallinity. Nanocellulose has attracted considerable attention in recent decades owing to its environmental friendliness, wide availability, good biocompatibility, high crystallinity, and high Young's modulus. This review presents the recent achievements in preparation and applications of nanocellulose, including a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of various preparation methods and a summary of the applications of nanocellulose in composite materials research. 4Origin and nature of cold seep in northeastern Dongsha area,South China Sea:Evidence from chimney-like seep carbonates显示文摘The occurrence of seep carbonates is one of the characteristic features for cold seep sites at continental margins.The carbonates documented the venting history of methane-rich fluid.Compared to the chemoherm carbonates and carbonate pavements which formed on the sediment-water interface,chimney-like seep carbonates precipitated around fluid conduits below the sediment-water interface therefore better recording information of the past fluid flow and composition.Here the chimney-like seep carbonate samples from the northeastern Dongsha area of the South China Sea were studied to understand the origin and nature of the venting fluids and their potential relationship with gas hydrate deposits underneath the seafloor.Based on the occurrence,morphology,petrology,mineralogy and C-and O-isotope compositions,combined with present and past bottom water temperatures and the timing of methane release events,the oxygen isotopic fractionation between calcite and water were used to estimate the equilibriumδ18O values of the precipitating fluids.Theδ13C values ranging from 56.33‰to 42.70‰V-PDB and thus clearly show that the studied chimneys were mainly derived from biogenic methane oxidation.The calculated equilibriumδ18O values of the precipitating fluids ranged from 1.9‰0.3‰to 0.6‰0.3‰V-SMOW,with an average of 1.4‰0.3‰V-SMOW which is heavier than those of seawater even at the last glacial maximum.It is considered that the formation of chimney-like carbonates was closely related to methane hydrate dissociation in the area.The methane hydrates contributed as much as45.7%of water to the venting fluids.It is suggested that the climate and environmental changes(e.g.sea-level lowering,down-cutting canyons and mass wasting)are the major mechanisms maybe responsible for the destabilization of methane hydrates in the study area.The extensive occurrence of seep carbonates indicates that a large amount of the methane released from methane hydrate dissociation has been effectively captured and sequestered by microbial anaerobic oxidation of methane(AOM)before it escapes into the water column.HAN XiQiu YANG KeHong HUANG YongYang 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,30:12

6Room temperature phosphorescence from natural products: Crystallization matters显示文摘Efficient room temperature phosphorescence is observed in natural compounds and polymers such as starch, cellulose, bovine serum albumin (BSA), and some other carbohydrates. Whereas being practically nonluminescent in solutions and TLC plates, they emit bright phosphorescence in the crystalline states with lifetime up to microseconds, exhibiting crystallization-induced phosphorescence (CIP) characteristics. 8Crystallization-induced phosphorescence of benzils at room temperature显示文摘Efficient room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) is rarely observed in pure organic luminogens. However, we have newly observed that benzil and its derivatives are nonluminescent in solvents and thin layer chromatography (TLC) plates, but become highly phosphorescent in crystal state at room temperature, exhibiting typical crystallization-induced phosphorescence (CIP) characteristics. The CIP phenomenon is ascribed to the restriction of intramolecular rotations in crystals owing to effective intermolecular interactions. 11Mutations in TP53, ZNF750, and RB1 typify ocular sebaceous carcinoma显示文摘Sebaceous carcinoma (SC) of the eyelid is a rare but aggressive malignancy, accounting for 3%—5% of eyelid malignancies in the United States, and up to 35% in Asian populations (Deprez and Uffer, 2009;Xu et al., 2018;Yu et al., 2018). It is frequently mistaken for benign conditions or less aggressive malignancies such as basal cell carcinoma (Muqit et al., 2013), and the effects of delay in diagnosis can be devastating to patients. Aggressive surgical resection is the primary treatment of these tumors and often invoIves orbital exenteration with significant morbidity to patients, and these tumors frequently recur, with local recurrence rate as high as 18%. 14Cyclophosphamide loaded thermo-responsive hydrogel system synergize with a hydrogel cancer vaccine to amplify cancer immunotherapy in a prime-boost manner显示文摘Although neoantigen-based cancer vaccines show great potential in cancer immunotherapy due to their ability to induce effective and long-lasting anti-tumor immunity,their development is hindered by the limitations of neoantigens identification,low immunogenicity,and weak immune response.Cyclophosphamide(CTX)not only directly kills tumors but also causes immunogenic cell death,providing a promising source of antigens for cancer vaccines.Herein,a combined immunotherapy strategy based on temperature-sensitive PLEL hydrogel is designed.First,CTX-loaded hydrogel is injected intratumorally into CT26 bearing mice to prime anti-tumor immunity,and then 3 days later,PLEL hydrogels loaded with CpG and tumor lysates are subcutaneously injected into both groins to further promote anti-tumor immune responses.The results confirm that this combined strategy reduces the toxicity of CTX,and produces the cytotoxic T lymphocyte response to effectively inhibit tumor growth,prolong survival,and significantly improve the tumor cure rate.Moreover,a long-lasting immune memory response is observed in the mice.About 90%of the cured mice survive for at least 60 days after being re-inoculated with tumors,and the distant tumor growth is also well inhibited.Hence,this PLEL-based combination therapy may provide a promising reference for the clinical promotion of chemotherapy combined with cancer vaccines.Fan Yang Kun Shi Ying Hao Yanpeng Jia Qingya Liu Yu Chen Meng Pan Liping Yuan Yongyang Yu Zhiyong Qian 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,10:2

16A gelable pure organic luminogen with fluorescence-phosphorescence dual emission显示文摘Pure organic luminogens with room temperature phosphorescence(RTP) have drawn much attention due to their fundamental importance and promising applications in optoelectronic devices, bioimaging, sensing, etc. Fluorescence-phosphorescence dual emission at room temperature, however, is rarely observed in pure organic materials. Herein, we reported a metal-and heavy-atom free pure organic luminogen with tert-butyl groups, DtBuCZBP, which is ready to form organogels in dimethylsulfoxide(DMSO).It emits prompt and delayed fluorescence, as well as RTP, namely dual emission in as-prepared solid, gels and polymeric films.To the best of our knowledge, it is the first example of metal-and heavy-atom free pure organic gelator with RTP emission.
