Investigation of the effect of berberines alkaloids in Coptis chinensis Franch on Bacillus shigae growthby microcalorimetry显示文摘The inhibitory effects of five berberines alkaloids (BAs) from rhizoma of Coptis chinensis Franch, a traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) herb, on Bacillus shigae (B. shigae) growth were investigated by microcalorimetry. The power-time curves of B. shigae with and without BAs were acquired; meanwhile, the extent and duration of inhibitory effects on the metabolism were evaluated by growth rate constants (k1, k2), half inhibitory ratio (IC50), maximum heat output (Pmax), and peak time (tp). The values of k1 and k2 of B. shigae in the presence of the five BAs decreased with the increasing concentrations of BAs. Moreover, Pmax was reduced, and the value of tp increased with increasing concentrations of the five drugs. The inhibitory activity varied with different drugs. IC50 of the five BAs was respectively 75 μg/mL for berberine, 90 μg/mL for coptisine, 115 μg/mL for palmatine, 220 μg/mL for epiberberine, and 400 μg/mL for jatrorrhizine. The sequence of antimicrobial activity of the five BAs: berberine > coptisine > palmatine > epiberberine > jatrorrhizine. The functional groups methylenedioxy at C2 and C3 on phenyl ring improve antimicrobial activity more strongly than methoxyl at C2 and C3 on phenyl ring. However, the effect of bacteriostasis is not significant with methylenedioxy or methoxyl at C9 and C10 on phenyl ring. | YAN Dan1,2,3, JIN Cheng1, XIAO XiaoHe1 & DONG XiaoPing2 1 Institute of Chinese Medicine, 302 Hospital of People’s Liberation Army, Beijing 100039, China 2 Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chengdu 610075, China 3 Chongqing Institute of Technology, Chongqing 400050, China | 2007 | Science China Chemistry2007,50,5: | 20
A study on environmental aridity over northern and southern to Qinling Mountains under climate warming显示文摘Based on the data up to 1999 from hydroclimatological departments, this paper analyzes the climatic divide implications of the Qinling Mountains in regional response to the process of climate warming, due to which the grades of dryness/wetness (GDW) in 100 years show that the northern region has entered a drought period, while the southern is a humid period. In a course of ten years, the D-value of annual average air temperature over southern Shaanxi (the Hanjiang Valley) and the Central Shaanxi Plain (the Guanzhong Plain) has narrowed, i.e., the former with a slight change and the latter with rapid increase in temperature. Both regions were arid with the decrease in precipitation D-value, namely the plain became warmer while the south was drier. The Qinling Mountains play a pronounced role in the climatic divide. The runoff coefficient (RC) of the Weihe River decreases synchronously with that of the Hanjiang due to climate warming. The RC of Weihe dropped from 0.2 in the 1950s to less than 0.1 in the 1990s. The Weihe Valley (the Guanzhong Plain) is practically an arid area due to shortage of water. The successive 0.5, 1.0 oC temperature anomaly over China marks, perhaps, the important transition period in which the environment becomes more vulnerable than before. The study shows the obvious trend of environmental aridity, which is of help to the understanding of regional response to global climate change. | YAN Jun-ping~1, LIU Yan-sui~2 (1. | 7 | Quantum secret sharing between multiparty and multiparty with four states显示文摘A protocol of quantum secret sharing between multiparty and multiparty with four states was presented. It was shown that this protocol can nullify the Trojan horse attack with a multi-photon signal, the fake-signal attack with Einstein-Podolsky- Rosen pairs, the attack with single photons, and the attack with invisible photons. In addition, the upper bounds of the average success probabilities were given for dishonest agent eavesdropping encryption using the fake-signal attack with any two-particle entangled states. | YAN FengLi1, GAO Ting2 & LI YouCheng1 1 College of Physics and Information Engineering, Hebei Normal University, Shijiazhuang 050016, China 2 College of Mathematics and Information Science, Hebei Normal University, Shijiazhuang 050016, China | 2007 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2007,50,5: | 18
Quantum secret sharing between m-party and n-party with six states显示文摘A quantum secret sharing scheme between an m-party group and an n-party group is proposed using three conjugate bases.A sequence of single photons, each of which is prepared in one of the six states,is used directly to encode classical information in the quantum secret sharing process. In this scheme, each of all m members in group 1 chooses randomly his/her own secret key individually and independently, and directly encodes his/her respective secret information on the states of single photons via unitary operations, then the last one sends 1/n of the resulting qubits to each member of group 2.By measuring their respective qubits, all members in group 2 share the secret information shared by all members in group 1.It renders impossible a Trojan horse attack with a multi-photon signal,a fake-signal attack with EPR pairs,an attack with single photons, and an attack with invisible photons. We give the upper bounds on the average success probabilities for dishonest agent eavesdropping encryption using the fake-signal attack with any two-particle entangled states. | GAO Ting1,YAN FengLi2,3 & LI YouCheng2,3 1 College of Mathematics and Information Science,Hebei Normal University,Shijiazhuang 050016,China 2 College of Physics and Information Engineering,Hebei Normal University,Shijiazhuang 050016,China 3 Hebei Advanced Thin Films Laboratory,Shijiazhuang 050016,China | 2009 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2009,52,8: | 15

Characterizing center pivot irrigation with fixed spray plate sprinklers显示文摘An indoor experiment with a fixed spray plate sprinkler(FSPS) of 36-grooved plate D3000 was conducted to evaluate the discharge-pressure relationship, wetted diameter, effective width, and water application rate in this research. In addition,a field experiment with a center pivot system equipped with the same measured FSPS was carried out to investigate the radial and circular uniformity under different cycle times and settings of the percent-timer.A package of nozzles numbering from #9(1.79 mm) to #33(6.55 mm) was tested with a nozzle elevation of 1.2 m and a 20-psi pressure regulator. The results showed that the wetted diameter and average application rate increased with nozzle size, but the effective wetted width and peak instantaneous application rate had no significant relationship with nozzle size. The simulated application rate of the center pivot system using the measured water distribution data of single FSPS was in good agreement with the measured result, which verified that the improved measurement procedure and modified nozzle sizing equation of the D3000 sprayhead in this paper were correct.Reducing the percent-time cycle time from 60 s to 40 s resulted in a slight increase in the radial uniformity coefficients, with an average of 1.09% to 1.17%,while there was no significant influence on the circular uniformity coefficients. | YAN HaiJun1,JIN HongZhi2 & QIAN YiChao2 1 College of Water Conversancy and Civil Engineering,China Agricultural University,Beijing 100083,China 2 Institute of Drainage and Irrigation Machinery,Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization and Sciences,Beijing 100083,China | 2010 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,5: | 11

Global absorption center map of the mafic minerals on the Moon as viewed by CE-1 IIM data显示文摘Determining the global distribution of minerals on the Moon has been an important goal of lunar science. Hyperspectral remote sensing is an important approach to acquiring minerals on the Moon on the global scale. The wavelength of the absorption band center is the key parameter for identifying minerals with reflectance spectra as well as remote sensing data. The global absorption center map of the mafic minerals of the Moon was produced for the first time with the Chang’E-1 IIM data. This map shows the global distribution of mafic minerals such as orthopyroxenes, clinopyroxenes, and olivine and even plagioclase feldspar of the Moon. The validation for some representative areas indicates that the global map is reliable and even more detailed than the results derived from Clementine-data. Moreover, our method is insensitive to the topography and viewing and illumination geometries. The global absorption band center map not only contributes to the lunar science research, but also has other implications to be further studied. Moreover, the preprocessing methods such as calibration and correction introduced in this study can be useful in other research with IIM data. | WU YunZhao 1,4* , ZHANG Xia 2 , YAN BoKun 3 , GAN FuPing 3 , TANG ZeSheng 4 , XU AoAo 4 , ZHENG YongChun 5 & ZOU YongLiao 5 1 School of Geographic and Oceanographic Sciences, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China 2 Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China 3 Institute for Remote Sensing Method, China Aero Geophysical Survey and Remote Sensing Center for Land and Resources, Beijing 100083, China 4 Collaborative Research Laboratory on Lunar and Planetary Exploration, Macao University of Science and Technology, Taipa, Macao, China 5 National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100012, China | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,12: | 11
Microstructure evolution of single crystal copper wires in cold drawing显示文摘The deformation microstructure evolution of single crystal copper wires produced by OCC method has been studied with the help of TEM, EBSD and OM. The results show that there are a small number of dendrites and twins in the undeformed single crystal copper wires. However, it is difficult to observe these dendrites in deformed single crystal copper wires. The structure evolution of deformed single crystal copper wires during drawing process can be divided into three stages. When the true strain is lower than 0.94, macroscopic subdivision of grains is not evident, and the microscopic evolution of deformed structure is that the cells are formed and elongated in drawn direction. When the true strain is between 0.94 and 1.96, mac- roscopic subdivision of grains takes place, and the number of microbands located on {111} and cell blocks is much more than that with the true strain lower than 0.94. When the true strain is larger than 1.96, the macroscopic subdivision of grains becomes more evident than that with the true strain between 0.94 and 1.96, and S-bands structure and lamellar boundaries will be formed. From EBSD analysis, it is found that part of <100> texture resulting from solidifying is transformed into <111> and <112> due to shear deformation, but <100> texture component is still kept in majority. When the true strain is 0.94, the misorientation angle of dislocation boundaries resulting from deformation is lower than 14°. However, when the true strain arrives at 1.96, the misorientation angle of some boundaries will be greater than 50°, and the peak of misorientation angle distribution produced by texture evolution is located in the range between 25° and 30°. | CHEN Jian1,2, YAN Wen1,2, WANG XueYan2 & FAN XinHui2 1 Department of Applied Physics, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an 710072, China 2 School of Material Science and Chemical Engineering, Xi’an Technological University, Xi’an 710032, China | 2007 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2007,50,6: | 10
Expression of the difference between the Cold(Han) and Hot(Re) natures of traditional Chinese medicines(Strobal and Rhubarb) based on the cold/hot plate differentiating assay显示文摘In this study, objective differences between the Cold (Han) and Hot (Re) nature of traditional Chinese medicines, e.g. Strobal and Rhubarb, are determined by using a cold/hot plate differentiation technology. A novel, self-designed cold/hot plate differentiating instrument, with methodological study, was used to investigate the intervention of Strobal and Rhubarb on the temperature tropism of mice. Compared with the ICR and BALB/c mice, it was found that KM mice on the cold/hot plate were more sensitive to the change of temperature, within the tolerant temperature range of 15-40 ℃ . The temperature tropism behavior of mice is influenced by treatment with Rhubarb and Strobal, as is the activity of ATPase in liver tissue. These trends are consistent with the definition of the Cold/Hot nature of Chinese medicines based on traditional Chinese medicinal theory. This study showed that the differences of the Cold/Hot nature of traditional Chinese medicines. might be objectively represented by the temperature tropism of animal by means of cold/hot differentiating assay. | ZHAO HaiPing1,2, ZHAO YanLing1, WANG JiaBo1, LI HanBing1,2, REN YongShen1,2, ZHOU CanPing1,3, YAN Dan1 & XIAO XiaoHe1· 1 China Military Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, 302 Military Hospital, Beijing 100039, China 2 Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chengdu 610075, China 3 Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, Changsha 410208, China | 2009 | Science China(Life Sciences)2009,52,12: | 10

These charac- teristics suggest that they derived from a Middle Neoproterozoic mantle with isotopic compositions of mixed HIMU, EMII and minor EMI components. We interpret that these rocks were melting products of depleted mantle modified by subducted ancient oceanic crust and continental margin sediments along the northern margin of Yangtze block during Early Neoproterozoic. | ZHANG ChengLi1,2, GAO Shan1, 2, YUAN HongLin1, ZHANG GuoWei1, YAN YunXiang1, LUO JingLan1 & LUO JinHai1 1 State Key Laboratory of Continental Dynamics, Department of Geology, Northwest University, Xi’an 710069, China 2 State Key Laboratory of Geological Progresses and Mineral Resources, China University of Geosciences, Wuhan 430074, China | 2007 | Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,9: | 10 |
