2Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase: As a potential prognostic marker and immunotherapeutic target for hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Tumor cells induce an immunosuppressive microen-vironment which leads towards tumor immune escape. Understanding the intricacy of immunomodulation by tumor cells is essential for immunotherapy. Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase(IDO) is an immunosuppressive enzyme which mediates tumor immune escape in various cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). IDO up-regulation in HCC may lead to recruitment of regulatory T-cells into tumor microenvironment and therefore inhibit local immune responses and promote metastasis. HCC associated fibroblasts stimulate natural killer cells dysfunction through prostaglandin E2 and subsequently IDO promotes favorable condition for tumor metastasis. IDO up-regulation induces immuno-suppression and may enhance the risk of hepatitis C virus and hepatitis B virus induced HCC. Therefore, IDO inhibitors as adjuvant therapeutic agents may have clinical implications in HCC. 3Emodin alleviates intestinal mucosal injury in rats with severe acute pancreatitis via the caspase-1 inhibition显示文摘BACKGROUND:Emodin,a traditional Chinese medicine,has a therapeutic effect on severe acute pancreatitis(SAP),whereas the underlying mechanism is still unclear.Studies showed that the intestinal mucosa impairment,and subsequent release of endotoxin and proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β,which further leads to the dysfunction of multiple organs,is the potentially lethal mechanism of SAP.Caspase-1,an IL-1β-converting enzyme,plays an important role in this cytokine cascade process.Investigation of the effect of emodin on regulating the caspase-1 expression and the release proinflammatory cytokines will help to reveal mechanism of emodin in treating SAP.METHODS:Eighty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups(n=20 each group):SAP,sham-operated(SO),emodin-treated(EM) and caspase-1 inhibitor-treated(ICE-I) groups.SAP was induced by retrograde infusion of 3.5% sodium taurocholate into the pancreatic duct.Emodin and caspase-1 inhibitor were given 30 minutes before and 12 hours after SAP induction.Serum levels of IL-1β,IL-18 and endotoxin,histopathological alteration of pancreas tissues,intestinal mucosa,and the intestinal caspase-1 m RNA and protein expressions were assessed 24 hours after SAP induction.RESULTS:Rats in the SAP group had higher serum levels of IL-1β and IL-18(P<0.05),pancreatic and gut pathological scores(P<0.05),and caspase-1 m RNA and protein expressions(P<0.05) compared with the SO group.Compared with the SAP group,rats in the EM and ICE-I groups had lower IL-1β and IL-18 levels(P<0.05),lower pancreatic and gut pathological scores(P<0.05),and decreased expression of intestine caspase-1 m RNA(P<0.05).Ultrastructural analysis by transmission electron microscopy found that rats in the SAP group had vaguer epithelial junctions,more disappeared intercellular joints,and more damaged intracellular organelles compared with those in the SO group or the EM and ICE-I groups.CONCLUSIONS:Emodin alleviated pancreatic and intestinal mucosa injury in experimental SAP.Its mechanism may partly be mediated by the inhibition of caspase-1 and its downstream inflammatory cytokines,including IL-1β and IL-18.Our animal data may be applicable in clinical practice.Jian-Wen Ning Yan Zhang Mo-Sang Yu Meng-Li Gu Jia Xu Ali Usman Feng Ji 2017Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2017,16,4:15
4Energy-efficient Virtual Machine Allocation Technique Using Flower Pollination Algorithm in Cloud Datacenter:A Panacea to Green Computing显示文摘Cloud computing has attracted significant interest due to the increasing service demands from organizations offloading computationally intensive tasks to datacenters.Meanwhile,datacenter infrastructure comprises hardware resources that consume high amount of energy and give out carbon emissions at hazardous levels.In cloud datacenter,Virtual Machines(VMs)need to be allocated on various Physical Machines(PMs)in order to minimize resource wastage and increase energy efficiency.Resource allocation problem is NP-hard.Hence finding an exact solution is complicated especially for large-scale datacenters.In this con text,this paper proposes an Energy-oriented Flower Pollination Algorithm(E-FPA)for VM allocation in cloud datacenter environments.A system framework for the scheme was developed to enable energy-oriented allocation of various VMs on a PM.The allocation uses a strategy called Dynamic Switching Probability(DSP).The framework finds a near optimal solution quickly and balances the exploration of the global search and exploitation of the local search.It considers a processor,storage,and memory constraints of a PM while prioritizing energy-oriented allocation for a set of VMs.Simulations performed on MultiRecCloudSim utilizing planet workload show that the E-FPA outperforms the Genetic Algorithm for Power-Aware(GAPA)by 21.8%,Order of Exchange Migration(OEM)ant colony system by 21.5%,and First Fit Decreasing(FFD)by 24.9%.Therefore,E-FPA significantly improves datacenter performance and thus,enhances environmental sustainability.Mohammed Joda Usman Abdul Samad Ismail Hassan Chizari Gaddafi Abdul-Salaam Ali Muhammad Usman Abdulsalam Yau Gital Omprakash Kaiwartya Ahmed Aliyu 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,2:13
5Imaging biomarkers in Parkinson’s disease and Parkinsonian syndromes:current and emerging concepts显示文摘Two centuries ago in 1817,James Parkinson provided the first medical description of Parkinson’s disease,later refined by Jean-Martin Charcot in the mid-to-late 19th century to include the atypical parkinsonian variants(also termed,Parkinson-plus syndromes).Today,Parkinson’s disease represents the second most common neurodegenerative disorder with an estimated global prevalence of over 10 million.Conversely,atypical parkinsonian syndromes encompass a group of relatively heterogeneous disorders that may share some clinical features with Parkinson’s disease,but are uncommon distinct clinicopathological diseases.Decades of scientific advancements have vastly improved our understanding of these disorders,including improvements in in vivo imaging for biomarker identification.Multimodal imaging for the visualization of structural and functional brain changes is especially important,as it allows a‘window’into the underlying pathophysiological abnormalities.In this article,we first present an overview of the cardinal clinical and neuropathological features of,1)synucleinopathies:Parkinson’s disease and other Lewy body spectrum disorders,as well as multiple system atrophy,and 2)tauopathies:progressive supranuclear palsy,and corticobasal degeneration.A comprehensive presentation of wellestablished and emerging imaging biomarkers for each disorder are then discussed.Biomarkers for the following imaging modalities are reviewed:1)structural magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)using T1,T2,and susceptibilityweighted sequences for volumetric and voxel-based morphometric analyses,as well as MRI derived visual signatures,2)diffusion tensor MRI for the assessment of white matter tract injury and microstructural integrity,3)proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy for quantifying proton-containing brain metabolites,4)single photon emission computed tomography for the evaluation of nigrostriatal integrity(as assessed by presynaptic dopamine transporters and postsynaptic dopamine D2 receptors),and cerebral perfusion,5)positron emission tomography for gauging nigrostriatal functions,glucose metabolism,amyloid and tau molecular imaging,as well as neuroinflammation,6)myocardial scintigraphy for dysautonomia,and 7)transcranial sonography for measuring substantia nigra and lentiform nucleus echogenicity.Imaging biomarkers,using the‘multimodal approach’,may aid in making early,accurate and objective diagnostic decisions,highlight neuroanatomical and pathophysiological mechanisms,as well as assist in evaluating disease progression and therapeutic responses to drugs in clinical trials.Usman Saeed Jordana Compagnone Richard I.Aviv Antonio P.Strafella Sandra E.Black Anthony E.Lang Mario Masellis 2017Translational Neurodegeneration2017,6,1:13
6Dynamics of CO_2 Emission and Biochemical Properties of a Sandy Calcareous Soil Amended with Conocarpus Waste and Biochar显示文摘Biochar is a carbon-rich product obtained by biomass pyrolysis and considered a mean of carbon sequestration. In this research, a sandy calcareous soil from the Farm of the College of Food & Agriculture Sciences, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, was amended with either woody waste of Conocarpus erectus L.(CW) or the biochar(BC) produced from CW at rates of 0(control), 10, 30 and 50 g kg-1. The effects of the amendments on soil p H, dissolved organic carbon(DOC), microbial biomass carbon(MBC), CO2 emission and metabolic quotient(q CO2) of the sandy calcareous soil were studied in a 60-d incubation experiment. The results showed that the addition of CW led to a significant decrease in soil p H compared to the control and the addition of BC. The CO2-C emission rate was higher in the first few days of incubation than when the incubation time progressed. The cumulative CO2-C emission from the soil amended with CW, especially at higher rates, was higher(approximately 3- to 6-fold) than that from the control and the soil amended with BC. The BC-amended soil showed significant increases in CO2-C emission rate during the first days of incubation as compared to the non-amended soil, but the increase in cumulative CO2-C emission was not significant after 60 d of incubation. On the other hand, CW applications resulted in considerably higher cumulative CO2-C emission, MBC and DOC than the control and BC applications. With the exception of 0 day(after 1 h of incubation), both CW and BC applications led to lower values of q CO2 as compared to the control. The power function kinetic model satisfactorily described the cumulative CO2-C emission. 7Endoscopic ultrasound-guided deep and large biopsy for diagnosis of gastric infiltrating tumors with negative malignant endoscopy biopsies显示文摘AIM: To assess the diagnostic yield and safety of adeep and large biopsy technique under the guidance of endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) for diagnosis of gastric infiltrating tumors with negative malignant endoscopy biopsies.METHODS: From January 2009 to March 2014, 36 patients in whom gastric infiltrating tumors had been diagnosed by EUS received negative results for malignancy after endoscopic biopsies. The deep and large biopsy technique combined bite-on-bite technique with or without endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR) to obtain submucosal tissue from lesions. EUS was used to select the appropriate biopsy sites. If the lesion protruded into the cavity, EMR was performed for removal of the overlying mucosa and then bite-onbite technique was conducted in the resected area to obtain submucosal tissue. If the lesion appeared to be flat or was difficult to lift by injection, the bite-on-bite technique was directly used.RESULTS: Twenty-eight of the 36 patients were treated by EMR followed by bite-on-bite technique, while 8 patients only underwent bite-on-bite technique. Histological results showed 23 of the 36 lesions were poorly differentiated adenocarcinomas, 2 diffuse large B cell lymphomas, 4 mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue-type lymphomas, and 7 undiagnosed. The deep and large biopsy technique provided a definitive and conclusive diagnosis in 29(80.6%) of the 36 patients. The 12 gastric linitis plastica and 6 lymphoma patients received chemotherapy and avoided surgery. Minor oozing of blood in 2 mucosal resection wounds was managed by argon plasma coagulation and in 5 cases after deep biopsies by epinephrine(0.001%). Neither severe hemorrhage nor perforation occurred in any patient.CONCLUSION: The deep and large biopsy technique is superior to ordinary endoscopic biopsy for achieving an accurate diagnosis of gastric infiltrating tumors.This procedure guided by EUS is an effective and safe diagnostic method for gastric infiltrating tumors in which endoscopic biopsy results were negative for malignancy.Xin-Xin Zhou Hang-Hai Pan Ali Usman Feng Ji Xi Jin Wei-Xiang Zhong Hong-Tan Chen 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,12:9
8Endoscopic papillary large balloon dilatation with sphincterotomy is safe and effective for biliary stone removal independent of timing and size of sphincterotomy显示文摘AIM To describe the efficacy and safety of endoscopic papillary large balloon dilatation(EPLBD) in the management of bile duct stones in a Western population. METHODS Data was collected from the endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) and Radiology electronic database along with a review of case notes over a period of six years from 1 st August 2009 to 31 st July 2015 and incorporated into Microsoft excel. Statistical analyses were performed using Med Calc for Windows,version 12.5(Med Calc Software,Ostend,Belgium). Simple statistical applications were applied in order to determine whether significant differences exist in comparison groups. We initially used simple proportions to describe the study populations. Furthermore,we used chi-square test to compare proportions and categorical variables. Non-parametric Mann-Whitney U-test was applied in order to compare continuous variables. All comparisons were deemed to be statistically significant if P values were less than 0.05.RESULTS EPLBD was performed in 229 patients(46 females) with mean age of 68 ± 14.3 years. 115/229(50%) patients had failed duct clearance at previous ERCP referred from elsewhere with standard techniques. Duct clearance at the Index* ERCP(1 st ERCP at our centre) was 72.5%. Final duct clearance rate was 98%. EPLBD after fresh sphincterotomy was performed in 81(35.4%). Median balloon size was 13.5 mm(10-18). In addition to EPLBD,per-oral cholangioscopy(POC) and electrohydraulic lithotripsy(EHL) was performed in 35(15%) patients at index* ERCP. 63(27.5%) required repeat ERCP for stone clearance. 28(44.5%) required POC and EHL and 11(17.4%) had repeat EPLBD for complete duct clearance. Larger stone size(12.4 mm vs 17.4 mm,P < 0.000001),multiple stones(2,range(1-13) vs 3,range(1-12),P < 0.006) and dilated common bile duct(CBD)(12.4 mm vs 18.3 mm,P < 0.001) were significant predictors of failed duct clearance at index ERCP. 47 patients(20%) had ampullary or peri-ampullary diverticula. Procedure related adverse events included 2 cases of bleeding and pancreatitis(0.87%) each.CONCLUSION EPLBD is a safe and effective technique for CBDS removal. 10Macrosomia in non-gestational diabetes pregnancy:glucose tolerance test characteristics and feto-maternal complications in tropical Asia Pacific Australia显示文摘Objective:To look into the glucose tolerance test characteristics and determine complications in non-gestational diabetes pregnant subjects.Methods:From 2006 to 2009 all non-gestational diabetes mellitus(non-CDM)pregnant women who delivered macrosomia at the North Australia's Townsville Hospital were retrospectively reviewed by extracting data from clinical record.Glucose tolerance tests results were analysed in the light of an earlier diagnosis of non-GDM.Results:Ninety-one non-CDM mothers with macrosomia were studied and compared with 41normoglycemic subjects without macrosomia.Of the subjects with non-GDM macrosomia,45(49.4%)had normal SO g glucose challenge test(GCT)without further testing,another 8(8.8%)had abnormal GCT but normal 75 g oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT).A total of 4(4.4%)subjects had normal GCT and OGTT.Interestingly.14 out of 16(87.5%)subjects who were tested with OGTT owing to past history of macrosomia had normal results but delivered macrosomic babies.Only 12 subjects had both GCT and OGTT,the rest of the cohort had either of the two tests.Subjects with non-CDM macrosomia had higher frequency of neonatal hypoglycaemia 34%as compared to 10%in nonmacrosomic babies(P=0.003).Other feto-maternal complications were similar in both groups.Conclussions:No significant pattern of glucose tolerance characteristics was identified in nonGDM mothers with macrosomic babies.In spite of being normoglycemic significant neonatal hypoglycaemia was recorded in non-GDM macrosomic babies.Further prospective studies on a larger population are needed to verify our findings.Algenes Aranha Usman H Malabu Venkat Vangaveti Elham Saleh Reda Yong Mong Tan Kunwarjit Singh Sangla 2014Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2014,4,6:7
11Confined van der Waals Epitaxial Growth of Two-Dimensional Large Single-Crystal In_(2)Se_(3) for Flexible Broadband Photodetectors显示文摘The controllable growth of two-dimensional(2D)semiconductors with large domain sizes and high quality is much needed in order to reduce the detrimental efect of grain boundaries on device performance but has proven to be challenging.Here,we analyze the precursor concentration on the substrate surface which signifcantly infuences nucleation density in a vapor deposition growth process and design a confned micro-reactor to grow 2D In_(2)Se_(3) with large domain sizes and high quality.Te uniqueness of this confned micro-reactor is that its size is∼102-103 times smaller than that of a conventional reactor.Such a remarkably small reactor causes a very low precursor concentration on the substrate surface,which reduces nucleation density and leads to the growth of 2D In_(2)Se_(3) grains with sizes larger than 200�m.Our experimental results show large domain sizes of the 2D In_(2)Se_(3) with high crystallinity.Te fexible broadband photodetectors based on the as-grown In_(2)Se_(3) show rise and decay times of 140 ms and 25 ms,efcient response(5.6 A/W),excellent detectivity(7×10^(10) Jones),high external quantum efciency(251%),good fexibility,and high stability.Tis study,in principle,provides an efective strategy for the controllable growth of high quality 2D materials with few grain boundaries.Lei Tang Changjiu Teng Yuting Luo Usman Khan Haiyang Pan Zhengyang Cai Yue Zhao Bilu Liu Hui-Ming Cheng 2019Research2019,,1:7
12Structural elucidation of SARS-CoV-2 vital proteins: Computational methods reveal potential drug candidates against main protease, Nsp12 polymerase and Nsp13 helicase显示文摘Recently emerged SARS-CoV-2 caused a major outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)and instigated a widespread fear,threatening global health safety.To date,no licensed antiviral drugs or vaccines are available against COVID-19 although several clinical trials are under way to test possible therapies.During this urgent situation,computational drug discovery methods provide an alternative to tiresome high-throughput screening,particularly in the hit-to-lead-optimization stage.Identification of small molecules that specifically target viral replication apparatus has indicated the highest potential towards antiviral drug discovery.In this work,we present potential compounds that specifically target SARS-CoV-2 vital proteins,including the main protease,Nsp12 RNA polymerase and Nsp13 helicase.An integrative virtual screening and molecular dynamics simulations approach has facilitated the identification of potential binding modes and favourable molecular interaction profile of corresponding compounds.Moreover,the identification of structurally important binding site residues in conserved motifs located inside the active site highlights relative importance of ligand binding based on residual energy decomposition analysis.Although the current study lacks experimental validation,the structural information obtained from this computational study has paved way for the design of targeted inhibitors to combat COVID-19 outbreak.Muhammad Usman Mirza Matheus Froeyen 2020Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,4:7
13Response of Wheat to Tillage Plus Rice Residue and Nitrogen Management in Rice-Wheat System显示文摘Zero tillage with residues retention and optimizing nitrogen fertilization are important strategies to improve soil quality and wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) yield in rice(Oryza sativa L.)-wheat system. Field experiments were conducted on silty clay soil(Hyperthermic, and Typic Torrifluvents) in D. I. Khan, Pakistan, to explore the impact of six tillage methods(zero tillage straw retained(ZTsr), ZT straw burnt(ZTsb), reduced tillage straw incorporated(RTsi, including tiller and rotavator), RT straw burnt(RTsb), conventional tillage straw incorporated(CTsi, including disc plow, tiller, rotavator, and leveling operations), CT straw burnt(CTsb)) and five nitrogen rates, i.e., 0, 100, 150, 200, and 250 kg ha-1 on wheat yield. Mean values for N revealed that spikes m-2, grains/spike, 1 000-grain weight(g), and grain yield(kg ha-1) were significantly higher at 200 kg N ha-1 in both the years as well as mean over years than all other treatments. Mean values for tillage revealed that ZTsr produced highest number of spikes m-2 among tillage methods. However, grains/spike, 1 000-grain weight, and grain yield were higher in tillage methods with either straw retained/incorporated than tillage methods with straw burnt. Interaction effects were significant in year 1 and in mean over years regarding spikes m-2, 1 000-grain weight, total soil organic matter(SOM), and total soil N(TSN). ZTsr produced the most spikes m-2 and 1 000-grain weight at 200 kg N ha-1. ZTsr also produced higher SOM and TSN at 200-250 kg N ha-1 at the end of 2 yr cropping. 14分级结构CdS QDs/BiOCl复合光催化剂的制备及其对有机污染物的降解显示文摘采用简单液相沉积法制备了分级结构Cd S QDs/Bi OCl复合光催化剂,以XRD,SEM,TEM,HRTEM,XPS,EDS,UV-Vis DRS,PL等测试方法分别表征了样品的物相、形貌、组成、元素含量、光吸收性能以及光电特性,并以罗丹明B(Rh B)和苯酚为模型污染物,分别在可见光和紫外光下评价Cd S QDs/Bi OCl复合光催化剂的催化性能。测试结果表明,粒径为5.5μm的Bi OCl微球由大量纳米片有序堆积而成,所负载的粒径为10~20 nm的Cd S QDs均匀分布在Bi OCl纳米片表面。与纯Bi OCl和Cd S QDs/Bi OCl相比,Cd S QDs/Bi OCl-3%表现出最佳的光催化性能,其对Rh B和苯酚的降解速率常数分别是纯Bi OCl的2.6倍和5.3倍。Cd S QDs/Bi OCl复合光催化剂性能的提高可归结于,分级结构Bi OCl有效防止了片层堆积,有助于Cd S QDs的负载,另外,Cd S QDs的负载拓展了复合光催化剂的光吸收性能,均匀分布的Cd S QDs与Bi OCl形成的异质结促进了光生电子-空穴对的有效分离。潘金波 刘建军 马贺成 Usman Ali Khan 左胜利 于迎春 李保山 2018无机化学学报2018,34,8:6

16Acupuncture enhances brain function in patients with mild cognitive impairment: evidence from a functional-near infrared spectroscopy study显示文摘Mild cognitive impairment(MCI)is a precursor to Alzheimer’s disease.It is imperative to develop a proper treatment for this neurological disease in the aging society.This observational study investigated the effects of acupuncture therapy on MCI patients.Eleven healthy individuals and eleven MCI patients were recruited for this study.Oxy-and deoxy-hemoglobin signals in the prefrontal cortex during working-memory tasks were monitored using functional near-infrared spectroscopy.Before acupuncture treatment,working-memory experiments were conducted for healthy control(HC)and MCI groups(MCI-0),followed by 24 sessions of acupuncture for the MCI group.The acupuncture sessions were initially carried out for 6 weeks(two sessions per week),after which experiments were performed again on the MCI group(MCI-1).This was followed by another set of acupuncture sessions that also lasted for 6 weeks,after which the experiments were repeated on the MCI group(MCI-2).Statistical analyses of the signals and classifications based on activation maps as well as temporal features were performed.The highest classification accuracies obtained using binary connectivity maps were 85.7%HC vs.MCI-0,69.5%HC vs.MCI-1,and 61.69%HC vs.MCI-2.The classification accuracies using the temporal features mean from 5 seconds to 28 seconds and maximum(i.e,max(5:28 seconds))values were 60.6%HC vs.MCI-0,56.9%HC vs.MCI-1,and 56.4%HC vs.MCI-2.The results reveal that there was a change in the temporal characteristics of the hemodynamic response of MCI patients due to acupuncture.This was reflected by a reduction in the classification accuracy after the therapy,indicating that the patients’brain responses improved and became comparable to those of healthy subjects.A similar trend was reflected in the classification using the image feature.These results indicate that acupuncture can be used for the treatment of MCI patients.M.N.Afzal Khan Usman Ghafoor Ho-Ryong Yoo Keum-Shik Hong 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,8:6
17Probiotic effect of ferulic acid esterase-producing Lactobacillus plantarum inoculated alfalfa silage on digestion,antioxidant,and immunity status of lactating dairy goats显示文摘A feeding experiment was conducted to determine the effects of inoculating alfalfa silage with a ferulic acid esterase-producing inoculum on feed digestibility,rumen fermentation,antioxidant,and immunity status of lactating dairy goats.Twenty dairy goats were distributed into 2 experimental groups consisting of control diet(Lp MTD/1,including Lactobacillus plantarum MTD/1 inoculated silage)against diet containing silage treated with ferulic acid esterase-producing L.plantarum A1(Lp A1).Alfalfa silage inoculated with a ferulic acid esterase-producing Lp A1 had better fermentation quality than the Lp MTD/1inoculation.The application of Lp A1 improved silage antioxidant capacity as indicated by greater total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC),superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathion peroxidase(GSH-Px)activities in Lp A1 treated silage versus Lp MTD/1 treatment.Compared with Lp MTD/1 treated group,inoculation of silage with Lp A1 increased apparent total tract digestibility of dietary dry matter,organic matter and crude protein,and ruminal concentrations of total volatile fatty acids,acetate,propionate and isobutyrate as well.The results of current study also demonstrated improved antioxidant capacity and immune performance of dairy goats with Lp A1 inoculation.Feeding Lp A1-treated silage increased dairy goats’serum antioxidase activity,such as T-AOC,SOD,GSH-Px and catalase,and the serum concentration of immunoglobulin A,while decreased tumor necrosis factor a,interleukin(IL)-2 and IL-6.In addition,compared with Lp MTD/1,diet containing alfalfa silage inoculated with Lp A1 endowed dairy goats’milk with greater fat and protein contents,improved dairy goat milk quality without affecting feed efficiency.Fuhou Li Baibing Zhang Yixin Zhang Xia Zhang Samaila Usman Zitong Ding Lizhuang Hao Xusheng Guo 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,4:6
18Pharmacogenetic studies update in type 2 diabetes mellitus显示文摘Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) is a silent progressive polygenic metabolic disorder resulting from ineffective insulin cascading in the body. World-wide, about 415 million people are suffering from T2DM with a projected rise to 642 million in 2040. T2DM is treated with several classes of oral antidiabetic drugs(OADs) viz. biguanides, sulfonylureas, thiazolidinediones, meglitinides, etc. Treatment strategies for T2DM are to minimize long-term micro and macro vascular complications by achieving an optimized glycemic control. Genetic variations in the human genome not only disclose the risk of T2DM development but also predict the personalized response to drug therapy. Inter-individual variability in response to OADs is due to polymorphisms in genes encoding drug receptors, transporters, and metabolizing enzymes for example, genetic variants in solute carrier transporters(SLC22A1, SLC22A2, SLC22A3, SLC47A1 and SLC47A2) are actively involved in glycemic/HbA1c management of metformin. In addition, CYP gene encoding Cytochrome P450 enzymes also play a crucial role with respect to metabolism of drugs. Pharmacogenetic studies provide insights on the relationship between individual genetic variants and variable therapeutic outcomes of various OADs. Clinical utility of pharmacogenetic study is to predict the therapeutic dose of various OADs on individual basis. 19桩端后注浆嵌岩灌注桩竖向承载性状现场试验研究显示文摘在南京河西地区开展了桩径1100 mm,有效桩长50.9〜55.9 m,以中风化泥岩为桩端持力层共6组大吨位桩端后注浆嵌岩灌注桩竖向静载荷试验,深入研究了该地区大直径后注浆嵌岩桩竖向承载特性及荷载传递机制。试验结果表明:4根试桩Q-s曲线为缓变型,2根试桩为陡变型,桩顶回弹率达63.6%〜83.4%,桩端阻力占总荷载比例不到5%;注浆质量差、桩端沉渣厚的试桩极限承载力明显偏低,嵌岩部分的桩侧摩阻力比正常工作的试桩小25.7%〜30.8%;相比嵌岩较深试桩,嵌岩较浅试桩的极限承载力偏小,但端阻发挥更多,且在桩端附近的桩侧摩阻力发挥程度也更高,嵌岩段承担荷载的占比更高;随着桩顶荷载增大,试桩的嵌岩段总阻力近似线性增长,且基本大于桩周土总侧摩阻力。本试验研究成果为后注浆嵌岩桩设计提供了依据,同时也为类似地区大直径嵌岩桩实践与理论研究提供了参考。刘宜昭 刘松玉 冯旭峰 薛凌云 Usman Hassan 2019地基处理2019,1,3:5
20Highly selective and stable hydrogenation of heavy aromatic-naphthalene over transition metal phosphides显示文摘The present study reports a highly selective and stable catalytic approach for producing tetralin, an important chemical, solvent, and H2 storage material. Transition metal phosphides(Mo P, Ni2 P, Co2 P, and Fe2P) were prepared by wet impregnation and temperature-programmed reduction and characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX), EDX mapping, scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), brunauer-emmettteller(BET), temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia(NH3-TPD), and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy of pyridine(pyridine-FTIR). Of all the transition metal phosphides Mo P was formed at a lower reduction temperature, which resulted in smaller particle size that enhanced the overall surface area of the catalyst.
