2Combustion synthesis, characterization and luminescence properties of barium aluminate phosphor显示文摘The blue-green emitting Eu2+ and Nd3+ doped polycrystalline barium aluminate(BaAl2O4:Eu2+,Nd3+) phosphor, was prepared by a solution-combustion method at 500 oC without a post-annealing process. The characteristic variation in the structural and luminescence properties of the as-prepared samples was evaluated with regards to a change in the Ba/Al molar ratio from 0.1:1 to 1.4:1. The morphologies and the phase structures of the products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), while the optical properties were investigated using ultra-violet(UV) and photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy, respectively. The XRD and TEM results revealed that the average crystallite size of the BaAl2O4:Eu2+,Nd3+ phosphor was about 70 nm. The broad-band UV-excited luminescence of the phosphors was observed at λmax=500 nm due to transitions from the 4f65d1 to the 4f7 configuration of the Eu2+ ion. The PL results indicated that the main peaks in the emission and excitation spectrum of phosphor particles slightly shifted to the short wavelength due to the changes in the crystal field due to the structure changes caused by the variation in the quantity of the Ba ions in the host lattice.A.H. 4Effect of initial nickel particle size on stability of nickel catalysts for aqueous phase reforming显示文摘The deactivation behavior by crystallite growth of nickel nanoparticles on various supports(carbon nanofibers, zirconia, Si C, α-Al_2O_3 and γ-Al_2O_3) was investigated in the aqueous phase reforming of ethylene glycol. Supported Ni catalysts of ~10 wt% were prepared by impregnation of carbon nanofibers(CNF),Zr O_2, SiC, γ-Al_2O_3 and α-Al_2O_3. The extent of the Ni nanoparticle growth on various support materials follows the order CNF ~ ZrO_2> SiC > γ-Al_2O_3>> α-Al_2O_3 which sequence, however, was determined by the initial Ni particle size. Based on the observed nickel leaching and the specific growth characteristics; the particle size distribution and the effect of loading on the growth rate, Ostwald ripening is suggested to be the main mechanism contributing to nickel particle growth. Remarkably, initially smaller Ni particles(~12 nm) supported on α-Al_2O_3 were found to outgrow Ni particles with initially larger size(~20 nm). 5The human leucocyte differentiation antigens (HLDA) workshops: the evolv-ing role of antibodies in research, diagnosis and therapy显示文摘The 8th International Workshop on Human Leucocyte Differentiation Antigens (chaired by Zola H and managed by Swart B) was run over a 4-year period and culminated in a conference in December 2004. Here we review the achieve- ments of the HLDA Workshops and provide links to information on CD molecules and antibodies against them, including the 93 new CDs assigned in the 8th Workshop.
