1Chinese expert consensus on cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal malignancies显示文摘Locoregional spread of abdominopelvic malignant tumors frequently results in peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC). The prognosis of PC patients treated by conventional systemic chemotherapy is poor, with a median survival of < 6 mo. However, over the past three decades, an integrated treatment strategy of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) has been developed by the pioneering oncologists, with proved efficacy and safety in selected patients. Supported by several lines of clinical evidence from phases Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ clinical trials, CRS + HIPEC has been regarded as the standard treatment for selected patients with PC in many established cancer centers worldwide. In China, an expert consensus on CRS + HIPEC has been reached by the leading surgical and medical oncologists, under the framework of the China Anti-Cancer Association. 2THEORY OF DIELECTRIC ELASTOMERS显示文摘In response to a stimulus,a soft material deforms,and the deformation provides a function.We call such a material a soft active material (SAM).This review focuses on one class of soft active materials: dielectric elastomers.When a membrane of a dielectric elastomer is subject to a voltage through its thickness,the membrane reduces thickness and expands area,possibly straining over 100%.The dielectric elastomers are being developed as transducers for broad applications,including soft robots,adaptive optics,Braille displays,and electric generators.This paper reviews the theory of dielectric elastomers,developed within continuum mechanics and thermodynamics,and motivated by molecular pictures and empirical observations.The the-ory couples large deformation and electric potential,and describes nonlinear and nonequilibrium behavior,such as electromechanical instability and viscoelasticity.The theory enables the finite element method to simulate transducers of realistic configurations,predicts the efficiency of elec-tromechanical energy conversion,and suggests alternative routes to achieve giant voltage-induced deformation.It is hoped that the theory will aid in the creation of materials and devices.Zhigang Suo (School of Engineering and Applied Sciences,Kavli Institute for Nanobio Science and Technology,Harvard University,Cambridge,MA 02138,USA) 2010Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2010,23,6:37

4Serum pepsinogen Ⅱ is a better diagnostic marker in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To investigate screening makers for gastric cancer,we assessed the association between gastric cancer and serum pepsinogens(PGs).METHODS:The subjects comprised 450 patients with gastric cancer,111 individuals with gastric atrophy,and 961 healthy controls.Serum anti-Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) immunoglobulin G(IgG),PGⅠand PG Ⅱ were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Gastric atrophy and gastric cancer were diagnosed by endoscopy and histopathological examinations.Odds ratios and 95%CIs were calculated using multivariate logistic regression.RESULTS:Rates of H.pylori infection remained high in Northeastern China.Rates of H.pylori IgG positivity were greater in the gastric cancer and gastric atrophy groups compared to the control group(69.1% and 75.7% vs 49.7%,P < 0.001).Higher levels of PG Ⅱ(15.9 μg/L and 13.9 μg/L vs 11.5 μg/L,P < 0.001) and lower PGⅠ/PG Ⅱ ratio(5.4 and 4.6 vs 8.4,P < 0.001) were found in patients with gastric cancer or gastric atrophy compared to healthy controls,whereas no correlation was found between the plasma PGⅠconcentration and risk of gastric cancer(P = 0.537).In addition,multivariate logistic analysis indicated that H.pylori infection and atrophic gastritis were independent risk factors for gastric cancer.Lower plasma PGⅠ/PG Ⅱ ratio was associated with higher risks of atrophy and gastric cancer.Furthermore,plasma PG Ⅱ?level?significantly?correlated?with?H.pyloriinfected gastric cancer.CONCLUSION:Serum PG Ⅱ concentration and PG Ⅰ/PG Ⅱ ratio are potential biomarkers for H.pyloriinfected gastric disease.PG Ⅱ is independently associated with risk of gastric cancer.Xue-Yuan Cao Zhi-Fang Jia Mei-Shan Jin Dong-Hui Cao Fei Kong Jian Suo Jing Jiang 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,48:27
5Arctic Sea Ice and Eurasian Climate:A Review显示文摘The Arctic plays a fundamental role in the climate system and has shown significant climate change in recent decades,including the Arctic warming and decline of Arctic sea-ice extent and thickness. In contrast to the Arctic warming and reduction of Arctic sea ice, Europe, East Asia and North America have experienced anomalously cold conditions, with record snowfall during recent years. In this paper, we review current understanding of the sea-ice impacts on the Eurasian climate.Paleo, observational and modelling studies are covered to summarize several major themes, including: the variability of Arctic sea ice and its controls; the likely causes and apparent impacts of the Arctic sea-ice decline during the satellite era,as well as past and projected future impacts and trends; the links and feedback mechanisms between the Arctic sea ice and the Arctic Oscillation/North Atlantic Oscillation, the recent Eurasian cooling, winter atmospheric circulation, summer precipitation in East Asia, spring snowfall over Eurasia, East Asian winter monsoon, and midlatitude extreme weather; and the remote climate response(e.g., atmospheric circulation, air temperature) to changes in Arctic sea ice. 6Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric and colorectal cancer in China's Mainland显示文摘AIM:To investigate the current status of peritoneal carcinomatosis(PC) management,as well as the usage of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC) in China's Mainland.METHODS:A potentially curative therapeutic strategy for selecting patients with PC,known as 'Techniques',consists of CRS in combination with HIPEC.A systemic search of published works and clinical trials was performed.Additional papers were retrieved by crosschecking references and obtaining information from Chinese oncologists and relevant conferences.One hundred and one papers and one registered clinical trial on HIPEC were included.RESULTS:A literature review identified 86 hospitals in 25 out of all 31 areas of China's Mainland that perform HIPEC.The earliest report included in our survey was published in 1993.Different approaches to HIPEC have been utilized,i.e.palliative,prophylactic,and possiblycurative treatment.Only one center has consistently performed HIPEC according to the 'Sugarbaker Protocol',which involves evaluating the extent of PC with peritoneal cancer index and the results of CRS with the completeness of cytoreduction.Positive preliminary results were reported:7 of 21 patients with PC survived,free of tumors,during an 8-43-mo follow-up period.Hyperthermic strategies that include HIPEC have been practiced for a long time in China's Mainland,whereas the 'Sugarbaker Protocol/Techniques' has been only rarely implemented in China.The Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International hosts a biannual workshop with the intent to train more specialists in this field and provide support for the construction of quality treatment centers,especially in developing countries like China,whose population is huge and has a dramatically increased incidence of cancer.CONCLUSION:To popularize Sugarbaker Protocol/Techniques in China's Mainland in PC management arising from gastric cancer or colorectal cancer will be the responsibility of the upcoming Chinese Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group.Tao Suo Haile Mahteme Xin-Yu Qin 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,8:18
7Acupuncture improves dendritic structure and spatial learning and memory ability of Alzheimer's disease mice显示文摘Acupuncture can improve the cognitive state of Alzheimer's disease, but its mechanism is not clear. Dendritic atrophy and synaptic loss in Alzheimer's disease brain are positively correlated with cognitive damage. Therefore, we speculated that the effect of acupuncture on improving cognitive function may be associated with reduced dendritic damage in the brain. Acupuncture at Qihai(CV6), Zhongwan(CV12), Danzhong(CV17), bilateral Zusanli(ST36), and bilateral Xuehai(SP10) acupoints was performed once a day(1-day rest after 6-day treatment) for 14 consecutive days. Senescence-accelerated mouse prone 8(SAMP8) mice without acupuncture and senescence-accelerated mouse resistant 1(SAMR1) mice were used as normal controls. After 14 days of treatment, spatial learning and memory ability of mice was assessed in each group using the Morris water maze. Dendritic changes of pyramidal cells in the hippocampal CA1 region were analyzed by quantitative Golgi staining. Our results showed that acupuncture shortened escape latency and lengthened retention time of the former platform quadrant in SAMP8 mice. Further, SAMP8 mice exhibited a significant increase in the number of apical and basal dendritic branches and total length of apical and basal dendrites after acupuncture. 10Effect of Long-Term Fertilization on Soil Productivity and Nitrate Accumulation in Gansu Oasis显示文摘A long-term (1982-2001) field experiment was conducted in a calcareous soil under wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)-wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)-maize (Zea mays L.) rotation system at Zhangye, Gansu Province, China to determine the effects oflong-term fertilization on crop yield, nutrients interactions, content and accumulation of nitrate-N in soil profiles. Twenty-four plots in a split-plot factorial with a combination of eight treatments (from nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K)and farmyard manure (M) applications) and 3 replications were selected. Main treatments were M and without M, and thesub-treatments were no-fertilizer (CK), N, NP and NPK. When P and K fertilizers were part of treatments, their ratio to Nwas 1N:0.22P:0.42K. All M, P and K fertilizers were applied as the basal dressing. The grain yield was harvested eachexperimental period and straw yield for the period from 1988 to 1997. After crop harvest in 2000, the soil was sampled fromthe 0-20, 20-60, 60-100, 100-140 and 140-180 cm depths to determine NO3--N content. Maize yield of CK in 2000 was only 28.2%of that in 1984, and wheat in 2001 was 25.7% of that observed in 1982. Average impact of fertilizers on grain yield decreasedin the order of N > M > P > K. Yield response to N and P fertilizers increased with progress of the experiment. The impact ofK fertilizer showed no increase in grain yield during the initial 6 years (1982-1987), moderate increase in the next 5 years(1988-1992), and considerable increase in the last 9 years (1993-2001). The straw yield trend was similar to grain yield.Accumulation and distribution of NO3--N in soil was significantly affected by annual fertilizations. Mineral fertilizers (NPand NPK) led to NO3--N accumulation in most subsoil layers, with major impact in the 20-140 cm depth. The combinationof mineral fertilizers and farmyard manure (MNP and MNPK) reduced soil NO3--N accumulation in comparison to mineralfertilizers. 12Evaluation of malignancy using Ki-67,p53,EGFR and COX-2 expressions in gastrointestinal stromal tumors显示文摘AIM:To investigate the role of expressions of Ki-67, p53,epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)in gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST)grading and prognosis. METHODS:Tumor tissue was collected retrospectively from 96 patients with GIST.Antibodies against Ki-67, p53,EGFR and COX-2 were used for immunohistochemical staining.Tumor grading was designated according to a consensus system and the staining was quantified in 3 categories for each antibody in the statistical analysis. RESULTS:The Ki-67 expression in GISTs was significantly associated with the size of the tumors,mitotic rate and the risk of malignancy(x2=15.51,P=0.02; x2=22.27,P<0.001;x2=20.05;P<0.001).The p53 expression was also significantly correlated with mitotic rate and the risk of malignancy(x2=9.92,P= 0.04;x2=9.97;P=0.04).Over-expression of Ki-67 was strongly correlated with poor survival(x2=10.44, P=0.006),but no correlation was found between the expression of p53,EGFR or COX-2 and survival. Multivariate analysis further demonstrated that Ki-67 expression(relative risk=15.78,95%CI:4.25-59.37) could be used as an independent prognostic value for GIST patients.Adjuvant imatinib therapy could improve clinical outcomes in the patients with high risk and intermediate risk of recurrence after complete tumor resections(median survival time:52 mo vs 37 mo, x2=7.618,P=0.006). 13The effect of surface roughness on thermal-elasto-hydrodynamic model of contact mechanical seals显示文摘In this paper,the effect of surface roughness on sealing clearance,pressure distribution,friction torque and leakage is studied by the thermal-elasto-hydrodynamic mixed lubrication model.A convergent nominal clearance is formed by the pressure deformation and thermal deformation of the seal faces.This causes more serious wear in the inner side than that of the outer side of the contact area.Mass leakage increases with the growing of the surface roughness.The temperature and thermal deformation on the seal surface increases substantially if the roughness is reduced.The contact mechanical seals have consistent performance when the standard deviation of surface roughness is approximately 0.2μm.In order to validate the theoretical analysis model,a method combining the measurement of three-dimensioned profile and Raman spectrum is proposed.WEN QingFeng LIU Ying HUANG WeiFeng SUO ShuangFu WANG YuMing 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,10:13
14Location of Triassic Tectonic Suture Between Collided Sino-Korean and Yangtze Cratons in Dabie-Sulu Region, China显示文摘The regional extent and spatial distribution of ultrahigh pressure metamorphic(UHPM) and high pressure metamorphic (HPM) rocks, and the geometrical relationships of various petrotectonic units in the Dabie-Sulu region indicate that the Triassic collisional suture line between the Sino-Korean and Yangtze cratons is situated at the northern margin of the Dabie massif, that is,along the Balifan-Mozitan-Xiaotian fault in the Dabie region, and possibly is linked to the Wulian-Yantai fault in the Sulu region to tbe east. 15Artificial Neural Network to Predict Leaf Population Chlorophyll Content from Cotton Plant Images显示文摘Leaf population chlorophyll content in a population of crops,if obtained in a timely manner,served as a key indicator for growth management and diseases diagnosis.In this paper,a three-layer multilayer perceptron(MLP) artificial neural network(ANN) based prediction system was presented for predicting the leaf population chlorophyll content from the cotton plant images.As the training of this prediction system relied heavily on how well those leaf green pixels were separated from background noises in cotton plant images,a global thresholding algorithm and an omnidirectional scan noise filtering coupled with the hue histogram statistic method were designed for leaf green pixel extraction.With the obtained leaf green pixels,the system training was carried out by applying a back propagation algorithm.The proposed system was tested to predict the chlorophyll content from the cotton plant images.The results using the proposed system were in sound agreement with those obtained by the destructive method.The average prediction relative error for the chlorophyll density(μg cm-2) in the 17 testing images was 8.41%.SUO Xing-mei JIANG Ying-tao YANG Mei LI Shao-kun WANG Ke-ru WANG Chong-tao 2010Agricultural Sciences in China2010,9,1:11
16Concurrent intracranial and extracranial artery stenosis and the prognosis of transient ischaemic symptoms or imaging-negative ischaemic stroke显示文摘Background and purpose Transient ischaemic attack(TIA),transient symptoms with infarction(TSI)and diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)-negative acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)share similar aetiologies but are considered to have a rather benign prognosis.We intended to investigate the association between intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(ICAS),extracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(ECAS)and the prognosis of patients with TIA,TSI and DWI-negative AIS.Methods Clinical and imaging data of eligible participants were derived from the Chinese Intracranial Atherosclerosis study,according to symptom duration,acute infarction on DWI and discharge diagnosis.Based on the severity and location of arterial atherosclerosis,we categorised the study population into four groups:no or<50% ICAS and no ECAS;≥50% ICAS but no ECAS;no or<50%ICAS with ECAS;and concurrent≥50% ICAS and ECAS.Using multivariable Cox regression models,we analysed the relationship between the severity and distribution of large artery atherosclerosis and the prognosis of TIA,TSI and DWI-negative AIS.Results A total of 806 patients were included,67.3% of whom were male.The median age of the study participants was 63 years.Patients in the concurrent≥50% ICAS and ECAS subgroup had both a significantly higher 1-year recurrence rate(adjusted HR 3.4(95%CI 1.15 to 10.04),p=0.027)and a higher risk of composite vascular events(adjusted HR 3.82(95%CI 1.50 to 9.72),p=0.005).Conclusions Concurrent ICAS and ECAS is associated with a higher possibility of 1-year recurrent stroke or composite vascular events.Large artery evaluation is necessary to assess patients with transient ischaemic symptoms or DWI-negative AIS.Progress in shortening the time interval between symptom onset and large vessel evaluation is needed.Yue Suo Jing Jing Yuesong Pan Weiqi Chen Hongyu Zhou Hao Li Yuehua Pu Liping Liu Xingquan Zhao Yilong Wang Xia Meng Yongjun Wang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1:10
17Fluid-solid Interaction Model for Hydraulic Reciprocating O-ring Seals显示文摘Elastohydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of hydraulic reciprocating seals have significant effects on sealing and tribology performances of hydraulic actuators,especially in high parameter hydraulic systems.Only elastic deformations of hydraulic reciprocating seals were discussed,and hydrodynamic effects were neglected in many studies.The physical process of the fluid-solid interaction effect did not be clearly presented in the existing fluid-solid interaction models for hydraulic reciprocating O-ring seals,and few of these models had been simultaneously validated through experiments.By exploring the physical process of the fluid-solid interaction effect of the hydraulic reciprocating O-ring seal,a numerical fluid-solid interaction model consisting of fluid lubrication,contact mechanics,asperity contact and elastic deformation analyses is constructed with an iterative procedure.With the SRV friction and wear tester,the experiments are performed to investigate the elastohydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of the O-ring seal.The regularity of the friction coefficient varying with the speed of reciprocating motion is obtained in the mixed lubrication condition.The experimental result is used to validate the fluid-solid interaction model.Based on the model,The elastohydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of the hydraulic reciprocating O-ring seal are presented respectively in the dry friction,mixed lubrication and full film lubrication conditions,including of the contact pressure,film thickness,friction coefficient,liquid film pressure and viscous shear stress in the sealing zone.The proposed numerical fluid-solid interaction model can be effectively used to analyze the operation characteristics of the hydraulic reciprocating O-ring seal,and can also be widely used to study other hydraulic reciprocating seals.LIAO Chuanjun HUANG Weifeng WANG Yuming SUO Shuangfu LIU Ying 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,1:10

20The seasonal dependence of cycle slip occurrence of GPS data over China low latitude region显示文摘The relationship of daily accumulated cycle slip occurrence with the season is analyzed using the GPS data observed in six GPS stations located in China low latitude region in 2001. It is found that the seasonal dependence of cycle slip oc-currence is evident. The cycle slip mainly occurs during the periods of two equinox months (March to May and September to October), and some correlative changes of the cycle slip occurrences over all six stations are exhibited in some special days.
