1THE IMPROVEMENT OF ELECTRON FIELD EMISSION FROM AMORPHOUS CARBON FILMS DUE TO HYDROGEN PLASMA CHEMICAL ANNEALING EFFECT显示文摘Hydrogenated amorphous carbon films were fabricated by using layer-by-layer deposition method and hydrogen dilution method in a small d.c.-assisted plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition system. It was found that the hydrogen plasma treatment could change the sp2/sp3 ratio to some extent by chemical etching. The improvements of field emission characteristics were observed compared with that from conventionally deposited a-C films, which can be attributed to the large field enhancement effect due to the inhomogeneous distribution of nanometer scale sp2 clusters and the reduction of the surface emission barrier due to the hydrogen termination.J. 2Properties and characterization of Au^(3+)-adsorption by mycelial waste of Streptomyces aureofaciences显示文摘Mycelial waste of Streptomyces aureofaciences procured from the aureomycin fermentation industry is used as biosorbent for Au3+. The properties of Au3+ adsorption by the mycelial waste are studied. The results indicate that the optimum pH value of Au3+ adsorption is 3.5. The biosorption is a rapid and non-temperature-dependent process. The bio-sorptive capacity with 45.6 mg/g and efficiency with 91.2% are achieved under the conditions of pH 3.5 and 30℃ for 45 min, in which the ratio is 50 mg/g dry weight for the concentrations of initial Au3+ and the mycelial waste. The Au3+ ions adsorbed on the mycelial waste can be eluted. The observation in a transmission electron microscope shows that the Au3+ ions can be reduced to Au particles by the mycelial waste and the Au can become gold crystals with differentforms and sizes. 3New exact solutions for free vibrations of rectangular thin plates by symplectic dual method显示文摘The separation of variables is employed to solveHamiltonian dual form of eigenvalue problem for transversefree vibrations of thin plates,and formulation of the naturalmode in closed form is performed.The closed-form natu-ral mode satisfies the governing equation of the eigenvalueproblem of thin plate exactly and is applicable for any typesof boundary conditions.With all combinations of simply-supported(S)and clamped(C)boundary conditions appliedto the natural mode,the mode shapes are obtained uniquelyand two eigenvalue equations are derived with respect to twospatial coordinates,with the aid of which the normal modesand frequencies are solved exactly.It was believed that theexact eigensolutions for cases SSCC,SCCC and CCCC wereunable to be obtained,however,they are successfully foundin this paper.Comparisons between the present results andthe FEM results validate the present exact solutions,whichcan thus be taken as the benchmark for verifying differentapproximate approaches.Y. 4LASER LIFT-OFF OF GaN THIN FILMS FROM SAPPHIRE SUBSTRATES显示文摘Gallium Nitride film was successfully separated from sapphire substrate by laser radiation. The absorption of the 248nm radiation by the GaN at the interface results in rapid thermal decomposition of the interfacial layer, yielding metallic Ga and N2 gas. The substrate can be easily removed by heating above the Ga melting point (29℃). X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy and Photoluminescence of CaN before and after lift-off process have been performed, which demonstrated that the separation and transfer process do not alter the structural quality of the GaN films. 6Synthesis and Surface Activity of Novel Triazole-based Cationic Gemini Surfactants显示文摘The synthesis and surfactant activities of two new cationic gemini surfactants containing triazole compound as spacer were described. Their critical micelle concentrations (CMC), which are 1.8×10-4 mol/L and 3.9×10-4 mol/L respectively, are much lower than that of conventional surfactant cetyltrimethyl ammonium chloride (CTAC). 7Two-dimensional thermoelasticity solution for functionally graded thick beams显示文摘Two-dimensional thermoelasticity analysis of functionally graded thick beams is presented using the state space method coupled with the technique of differential quadrature. Material properties vary continuously and smoothly through the beam thickness, leading to variable coefficients in the state equation derived from the elasticity equations. Approximate laminate model is employed to translate the state equation into the one with constant coefficients in each layer. To avoid numerical instability, joint coupling matrices are introduced according to the continuity conditions at interfaces in the approximate model. The differential quadrature procedure is applied to discretizing the beam in the axial direction to make easy the treatment of arbitrary end conditions. A simply-supported beam with exponentially varying material properties is considered to validate the present method. 8Novel Ru - K/Carbon Nanotubes Catalyst for Ammonia Synthesis显示文摘A novel ammonia synthesis catalyst, potassium-promoted ruthenium supported on carbon nanotubes, was developed. It was found that the Ru-K/carbon nanotubes catalyst had higher activity for ammonia synthesis (20.85 ml NH3/h/g-cat ) than the Ru-K/fullerenes (13.3 ml NH3/h/g-cat ) at atmospheric pressure and 623 K. The catalyst had activity even at 473 K. and had the highest activity (23.46 ml NH3/h/g-cat ) at 643 K. 9Controllable incorporation of CdS nanoparticles into TiO_2 nanotubes for highly enhancing the photocatalytic response to visible light显示文摘A constant current electrochemical deposition was employed to incorporate CdS nanoparticles into the TiO2 nanotube arrays (TiO2NTs). The size and amount of CdS nanoparticles in TiO2NTs (CdS@TiO2NTs) were controllable via modulating current,deposition time and electrolyte concentration. It was revealed,from the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) in depth profile,that CdS nanoparticles were filled into TiO2 nanotubes. A shift of the absorption edge toward the visible region under the optimal electrodeposition condition was observed with the diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). A 5-fold enhancement in the photocurrent spectrum for TiO2NTs was observed and the photocurrent response range was significantly extended into the visible region because of the CdS incorporation. 10Teracluster LSSC-II--Its designing principles and applications in large scale numerical simulations显示文摘The teracluster LSSC-II installed at the State Key Laboratory of Scientific and Engineering Computing, Chinese Academy of Sciences is one of the most powerful PC clusters in China. It has a peek performance of 2Tflops. With a Linpack performance of 1.04Tflops, it is ranked at the 43rd place in the 20th TOP500 List (November 2002), 51st place in the 21st TOP500 List (June 2003), and the 82nd place in the 22nd TOP500 List (November 2003) with a new Linpack performance of 1.3Tflops. 12Preparation of TiC/Ni_3Al Composites by Upward Melt Infiltration显示文摘TiC/Ni3Al composites have been prepared using upward infiltration method. The densification was performed by both Ni3Al melt filling and TiC sintering during the infiltration. The dissolution of TiC in liquid Ni3Al has been evidenced by finding Ni3(Al,Ti)C after fast cooling in the TiC/Ni3Al composites. The dissolution may be responsible for the infiltration and sintering. Compared with downward infiltration, the upward infiltration brought about higher strength and fracture toughness and shorter infiltration time. TiC/20 vol. pct Ni3Al composite processed by upward infiltration had a flexural strength of 1476 MPa with a statistic Weibull modulus of 20.2 and a fracture toughness of 20.4 MPa . 13MICROSTRUCTURAL STABILITY OF LAMELLAR TiAl BASED ALLOYS AT HIGH TEMPERATURES显示文摘The microstructural stability of lamellar TiAl base alloys at high temperatures was studied by conventional and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. The influence of substructures on the thermal stability of lamellar structure was emphasized. These substructures produced by thermal mechanical treatments include the interfacial dislocations and ledges, the subgrain boundaries, the impinged T(Q) twins and misorientated lamellar interfaces. The microstructural change of three kinds of lamellar TiAl base alloys containing differents type and densities of substructures were compared during exposure at 800~1 000 ℃. It was found that the existence of such substructures could accelerate the degeneration of lamellar structure, leading to the rapid necking and break up of α 2 plates, the coarsening of γ plates, and the formation of new γ grains. As a result, the lamellar structure with substructures started to degenerate after thermal exposure at 800℃ for 4.5 h. While only slight coarsening was observed at the colony boundaries in the lamellar structure without substructures even after exposure at 900 ℃ for 7 d.G. L. Chen *, L. C. Zhang *# , and W. J. 14Closed form solutions for free vibrations of rectangular Mindlin plates显示文摘A new two-eigenfunctions theory, using theamplitude deflection and the generalized curvature as twofundamental eigenfunctions, is proposed for the freevibration solutions of a rectangular Mindlin plate. The threeclassical eigenvalue differential equations of a Mindlin plateare reformulated to arrive at two new eigenvalue differentialequations for the proposed theory. The closed form eigen-solutions,which are solved from the two differential equationsby means of the method of separation of variables areidentical with those via Kirchhoff plate theory for thin plate,and can be employed to predict frequencies for any combinationsof simply supported and clamped edge conditions.The free edges can also be dealt with if the other pair ofopposite edges are simply supported. Some of the solutionswere not available before. 15Kinetics of Oxidation for β-Sialon in Diphase β-Sialon/Al_2O_3 Composite显示文摘Non-isothermal kinetic research has been carried out on oxidation behavior of β-Sialon in diphaseβ-Sialon/Al2O3 composite at high temperatures. A kinetic formula is established for non-isothermal oxidation process of β-Sialon. The rate of oxidation process is controlled by chemicalreaction at the initial stage and then by diffusion. 17Synthesis, Microstructure and Optical Absorption of Coatings with Doping of Nano-TiO_2 for Protection Against UltravioletIrradiation显示文摘The synthesis of dispersions of MMA (methylmethacrylate) with different concentrations of oleic acid coated nano-TiO2 particles was performed by hydrolysis of TiCI4 in the mixture solutions of MMA, oleic acid and H2O with various concentrations. When MMA: oleic acid: H2O : TiCi4 =1.00: 0.064 : 0.01: 0.032 (by mol fraction), the dispersion of MMA with oleic acid coated nano-TiO2 particles was very stable. Optical absorption result showed that the absorption band was located in the ultraviolet range from 200 to 400 nm. This dispersion was added to a kind of automobile surface lustering agent (type II), and then this lustering agent with nano-TiO2 was coated on the surface of automobile surface paint. When the doping amount of the dispersion in the lustering agent=10 vol. pct, the state of paint (color and glossiness) did not present any change after irradiation of an ultraviolet lamp with the power of 1000 watt for two days. The sample with surface paint and lustering agent doped by 10 percent dispersion after suffering from irradiation of the sunlight for half a year (from May to November) kept the original state. However, for the samples with automobile paint and lustering agent without doping of nano- TiO2, the color and glossiness lost easily after irradiation of an ultraviolet lamp.
