5Distribution and partitioning of heavy metals in large anthropogenically impacted river, the Pearl River, China显示文摘In order to evaluate the distribution and partitioning characteristics of heavy metals in the large anthropogenically impacted Pearl River Basin, the contents of ‘‘anthropophile'' elements(Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb,which are clearly influenced by human activities) were determined, and their partitioning coefficients(Kd) between water and sediments and enrichment factors(EF) were calculated for samples collected at different locations along the Pearl River main stream. The modified BCR sequential extraction procedure(proposed by the European Community Bureau of Reference in 1993), which involves the successive extraction of metals in a decreasing order of reactivity, was applied. Sediment samples from the upper,middle, and lower reaches were included in this study. The results showed that the content of most metals in water and sediment samples gradually increases from upstream to downstream, suggesting a possible input from human activities as shown by their increasing high EF, ranged from 1.4 to 3.9 for Cu, from 1.4 to 6.7 for Zn, from 2.5 to59.1 for Cd, and from 1.7 to 8.9 for Pb, respectively. Thehigher partition coefficients(Kd) for Cr, Zn, and Pb(10~5–10~6) indicated that they were mainly transported in solid phase, while parts of Ni, Cu, and Cd were transported in dissolved phase as they display relatively lower Kdin the range of 10~4–10~5. 6High-density genetic map construction and identification of loci controlling flower-type traits in Chrysanthemum(Chrysanthemum×morifolium Ramat.)显示文摘Flower type is an important and extremely complicated trait of chrysanthemum.The corolla tube merged degree(CTMD)and the relative number of ray florets(RNRF)are the two key factors affecting chrysanthemum flower type.However,few reports have clarified the inheritance of these two complex traits,which limits directed breeding for flower-type improvement.In this study,305 F1 hybrids were obtained from two parents with obvious differences in CTMD and RNRF performance.Using specific-locus amplified fragment sequencing(SLAF-seq)technology,we constructed a high-density genetic linkage map with an average map distance of 0.76 cM.Three major QTLs controlling CTMD and four major QTLs underlying RNRF were repeatedly detected in the 2 years.Moreover,the synteny between the genetic map and other Compositae species was investigated,and weak collinearity was observed.In QTL regions with a high degree of genomic collinearity,eight annotated genes were probed in the Helianthus annuus L.and Lactuca sativa L.var.ramosa Hort.genomes.Furthermore,20 and 11 unigenes were identified via BLAST searches between the SNP markers of the QTL regions and the C.vestitum and C.lavandulifolium transcriptomes,respectively.These results lay a foundation for molecular marker-assisted breeding and candidate gene exploration in chrysanthemum without a reference assembly.Xuebin Song Yuhui Xu Kang Gao Guangxun Fan Fan Zhang Chengyan Deng Silan Dai He Huang Huaigen Xin Yingying Li 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:5
7Neuroprotective effects of daidzein on focal cerebral ischemia injury in rats显示文摘Daidzein, a plant extract, has antioxidant activity. It is hypothesized, in this study, that daidzein exhibits neuroprotective effects on cerebral ischemia. Rat models of middle cerebral artery occlusion were intraperitoneally administered daidzein. Biochemical and immunohistochemical tests showed that superoxide dismutase and nuclear respiratory factor 1 expression levels in the brain tissue decreased after ischemia and they increased obviously after daidzein administration; malondialdehyde level and apoptosis-related cysteine peptidase caspase-3 and caspase-9 immunoreactivity in the brain tissue increased after ischemia and they decreased obviously after daidzein administration. Hematoxylin-eosin staining and luxol fast blue staining results showed that intraperitoneal administration of daidzein markedly alleviated neuronal damage in the ischemic brain tissue. 12Syringaldehyde exerts neuroprotective effect on cerebral ischemia injury in rats through anti-oxidative and anti-apoptotic properties显示文摘There are few studies on the neuroprotective effects of syringaldehyde in a rat model of cerebral ischemia. The study aimed to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the neuroprotective effects of syringaldehyde on ischemic brain cells. Rat models of cerebral ischemia were intraperitoneally administered syringaldehyde. At 6 and 24 hours after syringaldehyde administration, cell damage in the brain of cerebral ischemia rats was obviously reduced, superoxide dismutase activity and nuclear respiratory factor 1 expression in the brain tissue were markedly increased, malondiadehyde level was obviously decreased, apoptosis-related cysteine peptidase caspase-3 and-9 immunoreactivity was obviously decreased, and neurological function was markedly improved. 13On the Family of Thue Equation |x^3+mx^2y-(m+3)xy^2+y^3|=k显示文摘The family of cubic Thue equation which depend on two parameters |x^3+mx^2y-(m+3)xy^2+y^3|=k is studied. Using rational approximation, we give a smaller upper bound of the solution of the equation, that is quite better than the present result. Moreover, we study two inequalities |x^3+mx^2y-(m+3)xy^2+y^3|=k≤2m+3 and |x^3+mx^2y-(m+3)xy^2+y^3|=k≤(2m+3)~2 separately.
