1Numerical and analytical simulation of the structural behaviour of fully grouted cable bolts under impulsive loading显示文摘Designing reliable yielding support system to mitigate the effect of the kinetic energy in burst-prone conditions in mining and tunneling excavations is one of the challenges for geotechnical engineers. A combination of the support elements can be used to increase rock strength and minimise the displacement of unstable rock mass. It is important to understand how the support system works to ensure the stability of underground excavations. Cable bolts have been commonly used as an effective underground support system and an element of reinforcement to improve rock stability. Cable bolts are usually considered to be subjected to static loads under relatively low stress environments, however, in burst-prone conditions, they might be subjected to dynamic loads. Cable bolts as well as other support elements are used in burst-prone conditions to absorb the kinetic energy of the removed rock to avoid sudden and violent failures. This paper develops numerical and a novel analytical simulation technique for cable bolts to assess their structural behaviour under static and dynamic loading conditions. 2冠状动脉血流缓慢的患者其血浆可溶性黏附分子ICAM-1、VCAM-1和E-选择素水平升高显示文摘Background: Inflammation has been reported to be a major contributing factor to many cardiovascular events. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate plasma soluble adhesion molecules; intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(VCAM-1) and E-selectin as possible indicators of endothelial activation or inflammation in patients with slow coronary flow. Method: Study population included 17 patients with angiographically proven normal coronary arteries and slow coronary flow in all three coronary vessels(group I, 11 male, 6 female, mean age=48± 9 years), and 20 subjects with angiographically proven normal coronary arteries without associated slow coronary flow(group II, 11 male, 9 female, mean age=50± 8 years). Coronary flow rates of all patients and control subjects were documented by Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction frame count(TIMI frame count). All patients in group I had TIMI frame counts greater than two standard deviation above those of control subjects(group II) and, therefore, were accepted as exhibiting slow coronary flow. Serum levels of ICAM-1, VCAM-1, and E-selectin were measured in all patients and control subjects using commercially available ELISA kits. Results: Serum ICAM-1, VCAM-1, and E-selectin levels of patients with slow coronary flow were found to be significantly higher than those of control subjects with normal coronary flow(ICAM-1: 545± 198 ng/ml vs. 242± 113 ng/ml respectively, p< 0.001, VCAM-1: 2040± 634 ng/ml vs. 918± 336 ng/ml respectively, p< 0.001, E-selectin: 67± 9 ng/ml vs. 52± 8 ng/ml respectively, p< 0.001). Average TIMI frame count was detected to be significantly correlated with plasma soluble ICAM-1(r=0.550, p< 0.001), VCAM-1(r=0.569, p< 0.001) and E-selectin(r=0.443, p=0.006). Conclusion: Increased levels of soluble adhesion molecules in patients with slow coronary flow may be an indicator of endothelial activation and inflammation and are likely to be in the causal pathway leading to slow coronary flow.Turhan H. 3Parametric study on the axial performance of a fully grouted cable bolt with a new pull-out test显示文摘Modified cable bolts are commonly used in underground mines due to their superior performance in preventing bed separation when compared with plain strands. To better test the axial performance of a wide range of cable bolts,a new laboratory short encapsulation pull test(LSEPT) facility was developed. The facility simulates the interaction between cable bolts and surrounding rock mass,using artificial rock cylinders with a diameter of 300 mm in which the cable bolt is grouted. Furthermore,the joint where the load is applied is left unconstrained to allow shear slippage at the cable/grout or grout/rock interface.Based on this apparatus,a series of pull tests were undertaken using the MW9 modified bulb cable bolt.Various parameters including embedment length,test material strength and borehole size were evaluated. It was found that within a limited range of 360 mm,there is a linear relationship between the maximum bearing capacity of the cable bolt and embedment length. Beyond 360 mm,the peak capacity continues to rise but with a much lower slope. When the MW9 cable bolt was grouted in a weak test material,failure always took place along the grout/rock interface. Interestingly,increasing the borehole diameter from 42 to 52 m in weak test material altered the failure mode from grout/rock interface to cable/grout interface and improved the performance in terms of both peak and residual capacity.Chen Jianhang Hagan Paul C. 4Management of floor heave at Bulga Underground Operations – A case study显示文摘This paper presents an overview of the floor heave management at the Glencore Bulga Underground Operations and investigates the contributing factors to the behaviour of the floor. The mine experienced a number of major floor heave events in gateroads on development. As the longwall face approached the roadways, the magnitude of floor heave frequently increased, while new floor heave also developed.Furthermore, severe floor heave events took place along the longwall face. The most observed failure mode was buckling. While regular floor measurements were conducted to better understand the nature of the phenomenon, and various measures were considered to control the deformation of floor, the mining height was increased for the predicted floor heave domains, which facilitated effective management of the floor issues. The experience in the mine indicates that mainly high horizontal stresses with greater depths of cover and certain types of floor lithology configuration are likely to contribute to the failures of floor strata.Sungsoon Mo Kudret Tutuk Serkan Saydam 2019International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2019,29,1:3
