1Application of nanotechnology for enhancing oil recovery e A review显示文摘Nanotechnology has attracted a great attention in enhancing oil recovery(EOR)due to the costeffective and environmental friendly manner.The size of nanoparticles for EOR usually is in a range of 1e100 nm,which may slightly differ from various international organisations.Nanoparticles exhibit significantly different properties compared to the same fine or bulk molecules because of much higher concentration of atoms at their surface as a result of ultra-small size.In particular,one of the most useful and fascinating properties of these particles is to creating a massive diffusion driving force due to the large surface area,especially at high temperatures.Previous studies have shown that nanoparticles can enhance oil recovery by shifting reservoir wettability towards more water-wet and reducing interfacial tension,yet this area is still open for discussion.It is worth noting that the potential of nanoparticles to reduce the oil viscosity,increase the mobility ratio,and to alter the reservoir permeability has not been investigated to date.Depending on the operational conditions of the EOR process,some nanoparticles perform more effectively than others,thus leading to different levels of enhanced recovery.In this study,we aim to provide a summary on each of the popular and available nanoparticles in the market and list their optimum operational conditions.We classified nanoparticles into the three categories of metal oxide,organic and inorganic particles in this article.Chegenizadeh Negin Saeedi Ali Quan Xie 2016Petroleum2016,2,4:9
2Most common surfactants employed in chemical enhanced oil recovery显示文摘Chemical enhanced oil recovery(EOR)and particularly surfactant injection has recently received a great deal of attention.The suggested recovery mechanisms after injecting surfactants include wettability alteration and IFT reduction.If a surfactant is properly selected according to the environmental variables-such as pressure,temperature,salinity,it can lead to more efficient enhanced recovery from an oil reservoir.On the other hand,poor selection of the surfactant can result in a low recovery and can even become detrimental to the reservoir due to undesirable wettability alteration and possible rock dissolution resulting in a chemical reaction with displacing fluid and blockage of the pore space.Also,choosing the wrong surfactant without considering the rock mineralogy may result in high adsorption on the pore surface of the rock and unnecessary waste of resources.It is also worthy to note that surfactants are some of the most expensive chemicals used during EOR.Extensive literature review suggests that anionic surfactant are the preferred surfactant category for EOR especially when it comes to sandstone reservoirs.Occasionally,in specific situations a better performance have been reported after injecting cationic,non-ionic or mixtures of both surfactants,particularly when dealing with carbonate reservoirs.This paper presents in detail a review of the most commonly applied surfactants in EOR studies and the optimum application criteria for of each type.To the best of the authors'knowledge,such detailed and comprehensive review is not available in the literature,presently.Chegenizadeh Negin Saeedi Ali Quan Xie 2017Petroleum2017,3,2:8
3Experimental study of Iranian heavy crude oil viscosity reduction by diluting with heptane, methanol, toluene, gas condensate and naphtha显示文摘Due to the high viscosity of heavy crude oils,production from these reservoirs is a demanding task.To tackle this problem,reducing oil viscosity is a promising approach.There are various methods to reduce viscosity of heavy oil:heating,diluting,emulsification,and core annular flow.In this study,dilution approach was employed,using industrial solvents and gas condensate.The viscosity of two Iranian heavy crude oils was measured by mixing with solvents at different temperatures.Dilution of both oil samples with toluene and heptane,resulted in viscosity reduction.However,their effect became less significant at higher concentrations of diluent.Because of forming hydrogen bonds,adding methanol to heavy crude oil resulted in higher viscosity.By adding condensate,viscosity of each sample reduced.Gas condensate had a greater impact on heavier oil;however,at higher temperatures its effect was reduced.Diluting with naphtha decreased heavy oil viscosity in the same way as n-heptane and toluene.Besides experimental investigation,different viscosity models were evaluated for prediction of heavy oil/solvent viscosity.It was recognized that Lederer'model is the best one.Amir Hossein Saeedi Dehaghani Mohammad Hasan Badizad 2016Petroleum2016,2,4:6
4Interleukin-12 as a Genetic Adjuvant Enhances Hepatitis C Virus NS3 DNA Vaccine Immunogenicity显示文摘Hepatitis C virus (HCV) chronic infection is a worldwide health problem, and numerous efforts have been invested to develop novel vaccines. An efficient vaccine requires broad immune response induction against viral proteins. To achieve this goal, we constructed a DNA vaccine expressing nonstructural 3 (NS3) gene (pcDNA3.1-HCV-NS3) and assessed the immune response in C57BL/6 mice. In this study, the NS3 gene was amplified with a nested-reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method using sera of HCV-infected patients with genotype 1a. The resulting NS3 gene was subcloned into a pcDNA3.1 eukaryotic expression vector, and gene expression was detected by western blot. The resultant DNA vaccine was co-administered with interleukin-12 (IL-12) as an adjuvant to female C57BL/6 mice. After the final immunizations, lymphocyte proliferation, cytotoxicity, and cytokine levels were assessed to measure immune responses. Our data suggest that co-administration of HCV NS3 DNA vaccine with IL-12 induces production of significant levels of both IL-4 and interferon (IFN)-γ (p<0.05). Cytotoxicity and lymphocyte proliferation responses of vaccinated mice were significantly increased compared to control (p<0.05). 6Prediction of face advance rate and determination of the operation efficiency in retreat longwall mining panel using rock engineering system显示文摘A new approach for prediction of face advance rete (FAR) prior to mining operation and determination of the operation efficiency after mining operation in retreat longwall mining panel is presented based upon the concepts of rock engineering system (RES). For this purpose, six longwall panels considered in Parvadeh-I coal mine. Seven major effective parameters on FAR was selected including coal mine roof rating, gas propagation, safety factor of longwall face, ratio of joint spacing to cutting depth at longwall face, longwall face inclination, panel width, floor rock mass rating. To performance evaluation of the presented model, the relationship between the average vulnerability indexes of advance operation with FAR was determined in considered panels with coefficient of determination (R2) equal to 0.884 that indicate relatively acceptable correlation and compatibility. Investigations of the research indicated that it is possible to determine the actual operation efficiency under fair conditions by a RES-based model. The inevitable reduction of FAR for each longwall panel was determined by presented model that the difference amount between the maximum possible practical face advance rate (FARmpp) and recorded actual face advance rate (FARa) indicate the operation efficiency. Applied approach in this paper can be used to prediction of FAR in retreat longwall mining panel for same conditions that can have many benefits, including better and more accurate planning for the sales market and mine operation. 7Essential Oil from Citrus aurantium Alleviates Anxiety of Patients Undergoing Coronary Angiography: A Single-Blind, Randomized Controlled Trial显示文摘Objective To determine the effectiveness and safety of essential oil from Citrus aurantium on anxiety in patients undergoing coronary angiography.Methods A single-blind,randomized controlled trial was conducted in 80 patients experiencing coronary angiography in Imam Ali Hospital in Kermanshah,Iran from April to November in 2016.All patients were randomly divided into intervention and control groups by a random number table,40 cases in each group.The patients in the intervention group inhaled Citrus aurantium essential oil for 15–20 min about 60 min before angiography.Following the same procedure,distilled water was used instead of Citrus aurantium in the control group.Spielbergers State-Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI)was filled in and vital signs including systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),respiratory and pulse rate were recorded before and 20 min after the intervention.Adverse reactions after intervention were observed.Results In the intervention group,the mean scores of STAI,SBP,DBP,respiratory and pulse rate were 53.30±10.13,134.82±11.75 mm Hg,84.49±6.99 mm Hg,17.87±1.73 times/min,and 76.48±12.55 beats/min at baseline and significantly decreased to 42.37±10.15,124.49±10.48 mm Hg,79.23±6.62 mm Hg,14.54±1.43 times/min,and 70.03±13.66 beats/min respectively 20 min after intervention(all P<0.05);however,in the control group,neither anxiety scores nor vital signs changed significantly(P>0.05).All subjects reported no adverse reactions.Conclusion Inhalation of the essential oil from Citrus aurantium was effective in reducing anxiety and stress levels in patients undergoing coronary angiography.Khalil Moradi Hossein Ashtarian Nicholas Yakubu Danzima Hamid Saeedi Behrouz Bijan Farzaneh Akbari Mohammad Mehdi Mohammadi 2021Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,3:4
8How much would silica nanoparticles enhance the performance of low-salinity water flooding?显示文摘Nanofluids and low-salinity water(LSW)flooding are two novel techniques for enhanced oil recovery.Despite some efforts on investigating benefits of each method,the pros and cons of their combined application need to be evaluated.This work sheds light on performance of LSW augmented with nanoparticles through examining wettability alteration and the amount of incremental oil recovery during the displacement process.To this end,nanofluids were prepared by dispersing silica nanoparticles(0.1 wt%,0.25 wt%,0.5 wt% and 0.75 wt%)in 2,10,20 and 100 times diluted samples of Persian Gulf seawater.Contact angle measurements revealed a crucial role of temperature,where no wettability alteration occurred up to 80 ℃.Also,an optimum wettability state(with contact angle 22°)was detected with a 20 times diluted sample of seawater augmented with 0.25 wt% silica nanoparticles.Also,extreme dilution(herein 100 times)will be of no significance.Throughout micromodel flooding,it was found that in an oil-wet condition,a combination of silica nanoparticles dispersed in 20 times diluted brine had the highest displacement efficiency compared to silica nanofluids prepared with deionized water.Finally,by comparing oil recoveries in both water-and oil-wet micromodels,it was concluded that nanoparticles could enhance applicability of LSW via strengthening wettability alteration toward a favorable state and improving the sweep efficiency.Amir Hossein Saeedi Dehaghani Reza Daneshfar 2019Petroleum Science2019,16,3:2

12Evaluation of factors affecting psychological morbidity in emergency medicine practitioners显示文摘BACKGROUND: Assessing and evaluating mental health status can provide educational planners valuable information to predict the quality of physicians' performance at work. These data can help physicians to practice in the most desired way. The study aimed to evaluate factors affecting psychological morbidity in Iranian emergency medicine practitioners at educational hospitals of Tehran.METHODS: In this cross sectional study 204 participants(emergency medicine residents and specialists) from educational hospitals of Tehran were recruited and their psychological morbidity was assessed by using a 28-question Goldberg General Health Questionnaire(GHQ-28). Somatization, anxiety and sleep disorders, social dysfunction and depression were evaluated among practitioners and compared to demographic and job related variables.RESULTS: Two hundreds and four participants consisting of 146(71.6%) males and 58(28.4%) females were evaluated. Of all participants, 55(27%) were single and 149(73%) were married. Most of our participants(40.2%) were between 30–35 years old. By using GHQ-28, 129(63.2%) were recognized as normal and 75(36.8%) suffered some mental health disorders. There was a signifi cant gender difference between normal practitioners and practitioners with disorder(P=0.02) while marital status had no significant difference(P=0.2). 13A fuzzy logic model to predict the out-of-seam dilution in longwall mining显示文摘The longwall mining method is often affected by the out-of-seam dilution(OSD). Therefore, predicting and controlling of dilution are important factors for reducing mining costs. In this study, the fuzzy set theory and multiple regression models with parameters, including variation in seam thickness, dip of seam, seam thickness, depth of seam, and hydraulic radius as inputs to the models were applied to predict the OSD in the longwall coal panels. Field data obtained from Kerman and Tabas coal mines, Iran were used to develop and validate the models. Three indices including coefficient of determination(R2), root mean square error(RMSE) and variance account for(VAF) were used to evaluate the performance of the models. With 10 randomly selected datasets, for the linear, polynomial, power, exponential,and fuzzy logic models, R2, RSME and VAF are equal to(0.85, 4.4, 84.4),(0.61, 7.5, 59.6),(0.84, 4.5, 72.7),(0.80, 4.1, 79.6), and(0.97, 2.1, 95.7), respectively. 15Analgesic effect of paracetamol combined with low- dose morphine versus morphine alone on patients with biliary colic: a double blind, randomized controlled trial显示文摘BACKGROUND:Numerous drugs have been proposed to alleviate pain in patients with biliary colic,especially opioids,but still there is a tendency to use less narcotics because of their side effects and the unwillingness of some patients.The present study aimed to compare the analgesic effect of paracetamol combined with low-dose morphine versus morphine alone in patients with biliary colic.METHODS:A randomized double-blind controlled trial was performed in 98 patients with biliary colic,recruited from two emergency departments from August 2012 to August 2013.Eleven patients were excluded and the remaining were randomized into two groups:group A received 0.05mg/kg morphine+1 000 mg paracetamol in 100 m L normal saline and group B received 0.1 mg/kg morphine+normal saline(100 m L)as placebo.Pain scores were recorded using visual analogue scale(VAS)at baseline and 15 and 30 minutes after drug administration.Adverse effects and the need for rescue medication(0.75 g/kg intravenous fentanyl)were also reported within 60 minutes of drug administration.RESULTS:Before the infusion,the mean±SD VAS scores were 8.73±1.57 in group A and8.53±1.99 in group B.At 15 minutes after drug administration,the mean±SD VAS scores were2.16±1.90 in group A vs.2.51±1.86 in group B;mean difference was–0.35,and 95%CI–1.15 to 0.45(P=0.38).At 30 minutes the mean±SD VAS scores were 1.66±1.59 in group A vs.2.14±1.79 in group B;mean difference was–0.48,and 95%CI–1.20 to 0.24(P=0.19).The mean pain scores in the two groups at 15 and 30 minutes demonstrated no significant difference.CONCLUSION:Paracetamol combined with low-dose morphine may be effective for pain management in patients with biliary colic.Mohammad Reza Farnia Rasoul Babaei Farzaneh Shirani Mehdi Momeni Majid Hajimaghsoudi Elnaz Vahidi Morteza Saeedi 2016World Journal of Emergency Medicine2016,7,1:2
