| 1 | Optimal PD/PID control of smart base isolated buildings equipped with piezoelectric friction dampers显示文摘Long-period pulses in near-field earthquakes lead to large displacements in the base of isolated structures.To dissipate energy in isolated structures using semi-active control,piezoelectric friction dampers(PFD) can be employed.The performance of a PFD is highly dependent on the strategy applied to adjust its contact force.In this paper,the seismic control of a benchmark isolated building equipped with PFD using PD/PID controllers is developed.Using genetic algorithms,these controllers are optimized to create a balance between the performance and robustness of the closed-loop structural system.One advantage of this technique is that the controller forces can easily be estimated.In addition,the structure is equipped with only a single sensor at the base floor to measure the base displacement.Considering seven pairs of earthquakes and nine performance indices,the performance of the closed-loop system is evaluated.Then,the results are compared with those given by two well-known methods:the maximum possive operation of piezoelectric friction dampers and LQG controllers.The simulation results show that the proposed controllers perform better than the others in terms of simultaneous reduction of floor acceleration and maximum displacement of the isolator.Moreover,they are able to reduce the displacement of the isolator systems for different earthquakes without losing the advantages of isolation. | Sadegh Etedali Mohammad Reza Sohrabi Saeed Tavakoli | 2013 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2013,12,1: | 17 |

| 4 | GIS-based spatial analysis of urban traffic accidents: Case study in Mashhad, Iran显示文摘There is a growing concern in traffic accident rate in recent years. Using Mashhad city(Iran second populous city) traffic accident records as case study, this paper applied the combination of geo-information technology and spatial-statistical analysis to bring out the influence of spatial factors in their formation. The aim of the study is to examine 4 clustering analyses to have a better understanding of traffic accidents patterns in complex urban network. In order to deploy the clustering technique in urban roads, 9331 point features for inner city traffic accidents during 12 months have been registered according to their x and y location in geographic information system(GIS). The mentioned areas were analyzed by kernel density estimation(KDE) using ARCMAP and two other analyses using SANET 4th edition software so that the results of network analysis can be compared with traditional KDE method. In addition, this research introduces five classifications for determining the eventfulness of the under study area based on standard deviation and to make priority in creating security in the area.The nearest neighbor and K-function output analysis consist of four curves and regarding the fact that for all fatal, injury and property damage only crashes, the observed value curve is above the 5% confidence interval. Accidents in the study region are more clustered than expected by random chance. | 5 | Helicobacter pylori antibiotic resistance in Iran显示文摘AIM: To examine the frequency of antibiotic resistance in Iranian Helicobacter pylori(H pylori) strains isolated from two major hospitals in Tehran.METHODS: Examination of antibiotic resistance was performed on 120 strains by modified disc diffusion test and PCR-RFLP methods. In addition, in order to identify the possible causes of the therapeutic failure in Iran, we also determined the resistance of these strains to the most commonly used antibiotics (metronidazole, amoxicillin,and tetracycline) by modified disc diffusion test.RESULTS: According to modified disc diffusion test, 1.6% of the studied strains were resistant to amoxicillin, 16.7% to clarithromycin, 57.5% to metronidazole, and there was no resistance to tetracycline. Of the clarithromycin resistant strains, 73.68% had the A2143G mutation in the 23S rRNA gene, 21.05% A2142C, and 5.26% A2142G.None of the sensitive strains were positive for any of the three point mutations. Of the metronidazole resistant strains, deletion in rdxA gene was studied and detected in only 6 (5%) of the antibiogram-based resistant strains.None of the metronidazole sensitive strains possessed rdxA gene deletion.CONCLUSION: These data show that despite the fact that clarithromycin has not yet been introduced to the Iranian drug market as a generic drug, nearly 20% rate of resistance alerts toward the frequency of macrolide resistance strains, which may be due to the widespread prescription of erythromycin in Iran. rdxA gene inactivation,if present in Iranian H pylori strains, may be due to other genetic defects rather than gene deletion. | Marjan Mohammadi Delaram Doroud Nazanin Mohajerani Sadegh Massarrat | 2005 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2005,11,38: | 8 |

| 7 | Extractive oxidative desulfurization of model oil/crude oil using KSF montmorillonite-supported 12-tungstophosphoric acid显示文摘12-Tungstophosphoric acid(PW) supported on KSF montmorillonite, PW/KSF, was used as catalyst for deep oxidative desulfurization(ODS) of mixed thiophenic compounds in model oil and crude oil under mild conditions using hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) as an oxidizing agent. A one-factor-at-a-time method was applied for optimizing the parameters such as temperature, reaction time, amount of catalyst, type of extractant and oxidant-tosulfur compounds(S-compounds) molar ratio. The corresponding products can be easily removed from the model oil by using ethanol as the best extractant. The results showed high catalytic activity of PW/KSF in the oxidative removal of dibenzothiophene(DBT) and mixed thiophenic model oil under atmospheric pressure at 75 ℃ in a biphasic system. | 10 | Effect of melting temperature on microstructural evolutions, behavior and corrosion morphology of Hadfield austenitic manganese steel in the casting process显示文摘In this study, the effect of melting temperature on the microstructural evolutions, behavior, and corrosion morphology of Hadfield steel in the casting process is investigated. The mold was prepared by the sodium silicate/CO_2 method, using a blind riser, and then the desired molten steel was obtained using a coreless induction furnace. The casting was performed at melting temperatures of 1350, 1400, 1450, and 1500°C, and the cast blocks were immediately quenched in water. Optical microscopy was used to analyze the microstructure, and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffractrometry(XRD) were used to analyze the corrosion morphology and phase formation in the microstructure, respectively. The corrosion behavior of the samples was analyzed using a potentiodynamic polarization test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) in 3.5 wt% NaCl. The optical microscopy observations and XRD patterns show that the increase in melting temperature led to a decrease of carbides and an increase in the austenite grain size in the Hadfield steel microstructure. The corrosion tests results show that with increasing melting temperature in the casting process, Hadfield steel shows a higher corrosion resistance. | 11 | Numerical approach for enhanced oil recovery with surfactant flooding显示文摘The remained oil in the reservoir after conventional water-flooding processes,forms a dispersed phase in the form of oil drops which is trapped by capillary forces and is almost about 70%of the original oil in the place(OOIP).To reduce oil residual saturation in laboratory experiments and field projects,surfactant flooding is effective via decreasing the interfacial tension mobility ratio between oil and water phases.Estimation of the role of design variables,like chemical concentrations,partition coefficient and injection rate in different performance quantities,considering a heterogeneous and multiphase oil reservoir is a critical stage for optimal design.Increasing demand for oil production from water-flooded reservoirs has caused an increasing interest in surfactant-polymer(SP)and alkali-surfactant-polymer(ASP).Modeling minimizes the risk of high cost of chemicals by improving our insight of process.In the present paper,a surfactant compositional flood model for a three-component(water,petroleum and surfactant),two phase(aqueous and oleic)system is studied.A homogeneous,two-dimensional,isothermal reservoir with no free gas or alkali is assumed.The governing equations are in three categories:the continuity equations for the transport of each component,Darcy's equation for the transport of each phase and other auxiliary equations.The equations are solved by finite-differences using a procedure implicit in pressure and explicit in saturation.The validation of the model is achieved through comparing the modeling results with CMG simulators and BuckleyeLeverett theory.The results of modeling showed good agreement with CMG results,and the comparison with BuckleyeLeverett theory is explained according to different assumptions.After validation of the model,in order to investigate sensitivity analysis,the effects of system variables(partition coefficient,surface tension,oil viscosity and surface injection concentration)and performance variable(cumulative oil recovery)are studied.Finally,the comparison of oil recovery between water-flooding and surfactant-flooding was done.The results showed higher oil recovery with changes in capillary number when the partition coefficient is greater than unity.Increasing oil viscosity resulted in decreasing the oil recovery by changing in fractional flow.Moreover,it was concluded that the oil recovery was enhanced by increasing surfactant injection concentration.The oil recovery was increased when surfactant was injected to the system and this result was obtained by comparing water-flooding and surfactantflooding. | Sadegh Keshtkar Morteza Sabeti Amir H.Mohammadi | 2016 | Petroleum2016,2,1: | 4 |

| 15 | Unsteady MHD flow and heat transfer near stagnation point over a stretching/shrinking sheet in porous medium filled with a nanofluid显示文摘In this article, the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) stagnation point flow and heat transfer of a nanofluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet is investigated numerically. The similarity solution is used to reduce the governing system of partial differential equations to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations which are then solved numerically using the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method with shooting technique. The ambient fluid velocity, stretching/shrinking velocity of sheet, and the wall temperature are assumed to vary linearly with the distance from the stagnation point. To investigate the influence of various pertinent parameters, graphical results for the local Nusselt number, the skin friction coefficient,velocity profile, and temperature profile are presented for different values of the governing parameters for three types of nanoparticles, namely copper, alumina, and titania in the water-based fluid. It is found that the dual solution exists for the decelerating flow. Numerical results show that the extent of the dual solution domain increases with the increases of velocity ratio, magnetic parameter, and permeability parameter whereas it remains constant as the value of solid volume fraction of nanoparticles changes.
