| 1 | Banana Fusarium Wilt(Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense)Control and Resistance, in the Context of Developing Wilt-resistant Bananas Within Sustainable Production Systems显示文摘Banana(Musa spp.) is seriously threatened by the soil-borne fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense(Foc), also known as Panama disease.Attempts to control Fusarium wilt with fungicides damage soil health and have limited efficiency due to pathogenic variability. Elucidating the mechanism of infection and molecular basis of host defense through banana genome sequencing, genome editing and proteomic profile analysis will help formulate strategies to develop resistant cultivars. This will include research to better understand the functions of Fusarium wilt-resistance proteins. Transgenic approaches and protoplast fusion could be employed as tools for transferring resistance genes from wild relatives to commercial banana varieties, and may serve as a new strategy in solving the problems faced by banana breeding programmes.Evaluation of banana germplasm for resistance to Fusarium wilt using in vitro mutation and selection, along with somaclonal variation and somatic hybridization, could improve banana breeding efficiency for resistance against Foc. Plant hormones could also play an important role in regulating plant growth and defense by mediating developmental processes and signaling networks involved in banana responses to Foc. A complementary approach for managing Fusarium wilt, such as exclusion, surveillance and biological control as important components of integrated disease management programs must be considered to prevent and contain contagion. This includes studies on banana plant-microbe interactions, embracing both plant growth promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR) to induce Foc resistance, and exploring Foc-derived elicitors for inducing defense-related enzymes in bananas. The role of Silicon and crop and livestock integration must also be included in the Fusarium control toolbox. | 2 | Upward Molten Flow for Optimization of Fluid Flow in Continuous Casting Tundish显示文摘Fluid flow pattern and buoyancy force support the motion of nonmetallic inclusions toward the tundish slag. Upward molten flow was investigated. To understand the fundamentals of the process, physical modelling was carried out with the utilization of a 1∶4 scale model. Numerical modelling was carried out in line with the physical modelling to examine details of the flow pattern and rotational effect caused by the upward flow with the commercial CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) package environment, FLUENT. The two-equation k-ε model was used to simulate the turbulence. Multiphase fluid flow was numerically simulated by using the Volume of Fluid (VoF) method. | 3 | First Research on Marine and Nonmarine Sedimentary Sequences and Micropaleontologic Significance across Permian/Triassic Boundary in Iran (Isfahan and Abadeh)显示文摘Abundant ichthyoid remains, conodonts and holothurians sclerites were recovered near the Permian/Triassic boundary from a section south of Isfahan. Recovered ichthyoid remains include shark micro teeth and scales. The ichthyolith material is similar to a Fasanian ichthyolith from the Zakazane area in the Slovak karst of the Western Carpathians, which represents a subspecies of Acodina triassica . Conodont species are mostly neogondolellids. This fauna indicates that the sedimentary environment was marine, while to the north of localities near Isfahan and Zagross, terrestrial deposition was dominant at that time. Aluminasilicate and kaolin are present in a continental unit in Dopolan refractory main (Shahid Nilchian mine) and a section south of Chahriseh Village, north of Isfahan. | 4 | Spalling resistance of thermally grown oxide based on NiCoCrAlY(Ti) with different oxide peg sizes显示文摘NiCoCrAlY is usually used as the material to bond-coat in thermal barrier coating systems under high temperatures.Using NiCoCrAlY and adding different amounts of the active element Ti(0,0.1,0.3,and0.5;wt%),the relationship between oxide peg size and thermally grown oxide spalling resistance is ascertained by examining specimens subjected to a cyclic oxidation experiment.Oxide pegs,consisting of a Y-and Ti-rich oxide core and an outer Al_(2) O_(3) sheath,are formed by Ti and A1 successively reacting with oxygen after the rapid generation of Y-rich oxide.The size of the oxide pegs with higher Ti concentrations is on average bigger in the alloy.Severe thermally grown oxide spalling occurred in the0.5 wt% Ti specimen,but in the 0.3 wt% Ti specimen,it displayed the best adherence with the alloy due to the presence of fine pegs.Cavities existed at the interface between the inner oxide core and outer Al_(2) O_(3) sheath of larger pegs serve as microcrack sources and further induce severe scale failure combined with the initial interface crack between the scale and alloy. | Liang Yang Ryutan Choi Yu Zheng Mohammad Hassan Shirani Bidabadi Abdul Rehman Chi Zhang Hao Chen Zhi-Gang Yang | 2021 | Rare Metals2021,40,3: | 2 |
| 5 | Analgesic effect of paracetamol combined with low- dose morphine versus morphine alone on patients with biliary colic: a double blind, randomized controlled trial显示文摘BACKGROUND:Numerous drugs have been proposed to alleviate pain in patients with biliary colic,especially opioids,but still there is a tendency to use less narcotics because of their side effects and the unwillingness of some patients.The present study aimed to compare the analgesic effect of paracetamol combined with low-dose morphine versus morphine alone in patients with biliary colic.METHODS:A randomized double-blind controlled trial was performed in 98 patients with biliary colic,recruited from two emergency departments from August 2012 to August 2013.Eleven patients were excluded and the remaining were randomized into two groups:group A received 0.05mg/kg morphine+1 000 mg paracetamol in 100 m L normal saline and group B received 0.1 mg/kg morphine+normal saline(100 m L)as placebo.Pain scores were recorded using visual analogue scale(VAS)at baseline and 15 and 30 minutes after drug administration.Adverse effects and the need for rescue medication(0.75 g/kg intravenous fentanyl)were also reported within 60 minutes of drug administration.RESULTS:Before the infusion,the mean±SD VAS scores were 8.73±1.57 in group A and8.53±1.99 in group B.At 15 minutes after drug administration,the mean±SD VAS scores were2.16±1.90 in group A vs.2.51±1.86 in group B;mean difference was–0.35,and 95%CI–1.15 to 0.45(P=0.38).At 30 minutes the mean±SD VAS scores were 1.66±1.59 in group A vs.2.14±1.79 in group B;mean difference was–0.48,and 95%CI–1.20 to 0.24(P=0.19).The mean pain scores in the two groups at 15 and 30 minutes demonstrated no significant difference.CONCLUSION:Paracetamol combined with low-dose morphine may be effective for pain management in patients with biliary colic. | Mohammad Reza Farnia Rasoul Babaei Farzaneh Shirani Mehdi Momeni Majid Hajimaghsoudi Elnaz Vahidi Morteza Saeedi | 2016 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2016,7,1: | 2 |
