2The translational importance of establishing biomarkers of human spinal cord injury显示文摘The evaluation of such novel therapies for acute spinal cord injury in clinical trials is extremely challenging.Our current dependence upon the clinical assessment of neurologic impairment renders many acute SCI patients ineligible for trials because they are not examinable.Furthermore,the difficulty in predicting neurologic recovery based on the early clinical assessment forces investigators to recruit large cohorts to have sufficient power.Biomarkers that objectively classify injury severity and better predict neurologic outcome would be valuable tools for translational research.As such,the objective of the present review was to describe some of the translational challenges in acute spinal cord injury research and examine the potential utility of neurochemical biomarkers found within cerebrospinal fluid and blood.We focus on published efforts to establish biological markers for accurately classifying injury severity and precisely predict neurological outcome.Sanam Salimi Elizei Brian K.Kwon 2017Neural Regeneration Research2017,12,3:3
3MULTI-CRITERIA UNIVERSITY SELECTION:FORMULATION AND IMPLEMENTATION USING A FUZZY AHP显示文摘Collaboration with universities as 'knowledge factories' is increasingly perceived to be an effective and viable solution for firms to gain competitive advantage.One of the main challenges firms face in this area is how to select the best university for collaboration.This selection undoubtedly affects some other strategic activities of firms,such as managing and governing the relationship with the selected university and,most importantly,firm performance.As such,the selection becomes an important strategic decision that deserves a great deal of attention.Thus far,no systematic attempt has been made to investigate this significant area of research.The main purpose of this study is to formulate a decision-making model for university selection.Reviewing existing literature of university-industry relationship yields a list of relevant criteria for this problem.The problem is then formulated as a multi-criteria decision-making(MCDM) model,and a fuz2 y AHP is used to provide the solution.To illustrate the model,three Dutch universities are ranked based on the importance of the selected criteria.Negin Salimi Jafar Rezaei 2015Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2015,24,3:3

5Preoperative clinical and paraclinical predictors of choledocholithiasis显示文摘BACKGROUND:Choledocholithiasis is the most common cause of obstructive jaundice and cholangitis and occurs in about 10%of patients with symptomatic gallstone.The aim of this study was to find preoperative and non-invasive tests for predicting common bile duct stones(CBDs). METHODS:Findings of clinical examination,history laboratory tests and ultrasound(US)in 60 patients with CBDs were compared retrospectively,with 60 patients with gallstones.The data were collected from medical charts The sensitivity,specificity and positive predictive value (PPV)were determined. RESULTS:The comparison between the two groups showed significant differences in anorexia,itching,dark urine subicterus(slightly elevated serum bilirubin without clinical evidence of jaundice)and jaundice appearance increased bilirubin level,aspartate aminotransferase(AST) and alanine aminotranferase(ALT),CBD diameter>6 mm and stone observation under US(P<0.05).The highest specificity(100%)and PPV(100%)were found in dark urine and pale colored stool,history of cholangitis,and icterus.Among paraclinical tests,alkaline phosphatase (ALP)had the highest specificity(72.1%)and PPV(12.5%) Under US,stone observation in CBD was the most important factor with a sensitivity of 94.5%,a specificity of 100%and a PPV of 100%. 6Groundwater quality modeling using self-organizing map(SOM) and geographic information system(GIS) on the Caspian southern coasts显示文摘Groundwater is the main source for water provision in the arid and semi-arid areas such as Iran.The groundwater quality was simulated by using a hybrid model integrating a Self-Organizing Map(SOM)and geographic information system(GIS).SOM and GIS were used as pre-processing and postprocessing tools in the Mazandaran Plain.Further,the Ground Water Quality Index(GWQI)and its effective factors were estimated by using digital maps and the secondary data.Neuro Solutions software was used for simulating the groundwater quality.To do this,a model was trained and optimized in the SOM and then the optimized model was tested.In the next step,the performance of SOM in groundwater quality simulation was confirmed(test stage,Rsqr=0.8,and MSE=0.008).Then,the digital maps of the SOM inputs were converted to raster format in GIS.In the last step,a raster layer was generated by combining the model input layers which comprised the model inputs values.The tested SOM was used to simulate GWQI in the sites without the secondary data of the groundwater quality.Finally,the groundwater quality map was generated by coupling the results of SOM estimations and GIS capabilities.The results revealed that the coupling of SOM and GIS has high performance in the simulation of the groundwater quality.According to the results,a limited area of the studied plain has groundwater resources with low quality(GWQI>0.04).Therefore,that will be a threat to the life of humans,animals,and vegetative species.Therefore,it is necessary to plan for managing the groundwater quality in the Mazandaran plain.Vahid GHOLAMI Mohammad Reza KHALEGHI Edris TAGHVAYE SALIMI 2020Journal of Mountain Science2020,17,7:2
7Effects of modified graphene oxide(GO) nanofluid on wettability and IFT changes: Experimental study for EOR applications显示文摘The application of nanoparticles(NPs) in enhanced oil recovery(EOR) offers a practical approach to resolving some surface-related problems encountered in contemporary technological processes. In this study, graphene oxide nanosheets(GONs) were synthesized by Hummer's method and, then, were subjected to surface modification by hexamethyldisilazane(HMDS) and diazonium sulfonic(DS) compounds. The new combination was known as GO-Su-HMDS. The potential stability of GO-Su-HMDS nanofluids(NFs) was investigated using the zeta(ζ) potential test. A comparative study of the effect of the synthesized NFs on wettability alteration of the reservoir rock was performed using interfacial tension(IFT) and contact angle experiments. According to the results of this study, the contact angle decreased from the initial value of 161.(oil wet) to 35.(water wet). In addition, IFT decreased from18.45 mN/m for deionized(DI) water to 8.8 mN/m for 500 ppm GO-Su-HMDS NF. Moreover, the results of flooding experiments showed that the NPs of a GO-Su-HMDS concentration of 400 and 500 ppm could increase the oil recovery by 20% and 19%, respectively. The experimental results showed that GO-SuHMDS NFs with a concentration of 500 ppm have the best efficiency in terms of altering the wettability of the rock from oil wet to water wet. 8Investigation of asphaltene deposition under dynamic flow conditions显示文摘Asphaltene deposition is one of the most serious problems,which usually occurs in oil wells,petroleum production,oil processing,and transportation facilities.Deposition of heavy organic components,especially asphaltene.can lead to wellbore blockage and impacts well economics due to reduction in oil production.Therefore,it is necessary to pay more attention to finding some solution to overcome this problem.In this study,a pipe-loop apparatus for investigation of oil stability was employed to measure deposition thickness using a thermal method.The effects of many factors such as oil type,oil temperature,oil velocity,inhibitors,and solvents on asphaltene deposition were investigated.The results showed that the deposition increased with the increasing value of the colloidal instability index.Besides,the deposition thickness increased with the decreasing velocity of oil.but did not change with oil temperature.In addition,n-heptane could result in more deposition;however,toluene had no effect on the deposition.Branched dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid(Branched DBSA) and Linear DBSA as inhibitors decreased the rate of asphaltene deposition.Farhad Salimi Javad Salimi Mozafar Abdollahifar 2016Petroleum Science2016,13,2:2
