| 1 | Mini-Review:Green sustainable processes using supercritical fluid carbon dioxide显示文摘Environmentally benign carbon dioxide offers significant potential in its supercritical fluid phase to replace current reliance on a range of hazardous,relatively expensive and environmentally damaging organic solvents that are used on an extensive global basis.The unique combination of the physical properties of supercritical fluids are being exploited and further researched to continue the development and establishment of high effciency,compact plant to provide energy and water effcient manufacturing processes.This mini-review is focused on the use and potential applications of supercritical fluid carbon dioxide for a selected range of key and emerging industrial processes as a sustainable alternative to totally eliminate or greatly reduce the requirement of numerous conventional organic solvents.Examples of the industries include:chemical extraction and purification,synthetic chemical reactions including polymerization and inorganic catalytic processes.Biochemical reactions involving enzymes,particle size engineering,textile dyeing and advanced material manufacture provide further illustrations of vital industrial activities where supercritical fluid technology processes are being implemented or developed.Some aspects relating to the economics of sustainable supercritical fluid carbon dioxide processes are also considered. | RAMSEY Edward | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009，21，6： | 8 |

| 5 | Low-radiation and high image quality coronary computed tomography angiography in “real-world” unselected patients显示文摘AIM To determine the radiation dose and image quality in coronary computed tomography angiography(CCTA)using state-of-the-art dose reduction methods in unselected'real world'patients.METHODS In this single-centre study,consecutive patients in sinus rhythm underwent CCTA for suspected coronary artery disease(CAD)using a 320-row detector CT scanner.All patients underwent the standard CT acquisition protocol at our institute(Morriston Hospital)a combination of dose saving advances including prospective electrocardiogram-gating,automated tube current modulation,tube voltage reduction,heart rate reduction,and the most recent novel adaptive iterative dose reconstruction 3D(AIDR3D)algorithm.The cohort comprised real-world patients for routine CCTA who were not selected on age,body mass index,or heart rate.Subjective image quality was graded on a 4-point scale(4=excellent,1=non-diagnostic).RESULTS A total of 543 patients were included in the study with a mean body weight of 81±18 kg and a pre-scan mean heart rate of 70±11 beats per minute(bpm).When indicated,patients received rate-limiting medication with an oral beta-blocker followed by additional intravenous beta-blocker to achieve a heart rate below 65 bpm.The median effective radiation dose was 0.88 mSv(IQR,0.6-1.4 mSv)derived from a Dose Length Product of61.45 mGy.cm(IQR,42.86-100.00 mGy.cm).This also includes what we believe to be the lowest ever-reported radiation dose for a routine clinical CCTA(0.18 mSv).The mean image quality(SD)was 3.65±0.61,with a subjective image quality score of 3('good')or above for 93%of patient CCTAs.CONCLUSION Combining a low-dose scan protocol and AIDR3D with a 320-detector row CT scanner can provide high quality images at exceptionally low radiation dose in unselected patients being investigated for CAD. | Caryl Elizabeth Richards Stephen Dorman Patricia John Anthony Davies Sharon Evans Tishi Ninan David Martin Sriranj Kannoly Gail Roberts-Davies Mark Ramsey Daniel Rhys Obaid | 2018 | World Journal of Radiology2018，10，10： | 3 |
| 6 | Antidepressant foods:An evidence-based nutrient profiling system for depression显示文摘AIM To investigate which foods are the most nutrient dense sources of nutrients demonstrated by the scientific literature to play a role in the prevention and promotion of recovery from depressive disorders. METHODS A systematic literature review was conducted to derive a list of Antidepressant Nutrients from the 34 nutrients known to be essential for humans using level of evidence criteria. Nutritional data was extracted for a subset of foods with a high content of at least 1 Antidepressant Nutrient using a USDA database. These foods were analyzed for Antidepressant Nutrient density resulting in an Antidepressant Food Score(AFS). Plant and animal foods were analyzed separately. RESULTS Twelve Antidepressant Nutrients relate to the prevention and treatment of depressive disorders: Folate, iron, longchain omega-3 fatty acids(EPA and DHA), magnesium, potassium, selenium, thiamine, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin C, and zinc. The highest scoring foods were bivalves such as oysters and mussels, various seafoods, and organ meats for animal foods. The highest scoring plant foods were leafy greens, lettuces, peppers, and cruciferous vegetables. CONCLUSION The AFS is based on a nutrient profiling system devised to identify foods with the highest nutrient density of nutrients with clinical evidence to support theirrole in depressive disorders. | 10 | Keeping an eye on the diabetic foot: The connection between diabetic eye disease and wound healing in the lower extremity显示文摘Diabetic eye disease is strongly associated with the development of diabetic foot ulcers(DFUs).DFUs are a common and significant complication of diabetes mellitus(DM)that arise from a combination of micro-and macrovascular compromise.Hyperglycemia and associated metabolic dysfunction in DM lead to impaired wound healing,immune dysregulation,peripheral vascular disease,and diabetic neuropathy that predisposes the lower extremities to repetitive injury and progressive tissue damage that may ultimately necessitate amputation.Diabetic retinopathy(DR)is caused by cumulative damage to the retinal microvasculature from hyperglycemia and other diabetes-associated factors.The severity of DR is closely associated with the development of DFUs and the need for lower extremity revascularization procedures and/or amputation.Like the lower extremity,the eye may also suffer end-organ damage from macrovascular compromise in the form of cranial neuropathies that impair its motility,cause optic neuropathy,or result in partial or complete blindness.Additionally,poor perfusion of the eye can cause ischemic retinopathy leading to the development of proliferative diabetic retinopathy or neovascular glaucoma,both serious,visionthreatening conditions.Finally,diabetic corneal ulcers and DFUs share many aspects of impaired wound healing resulting from neurovascular,sensory,and immunologic compromise.Notably,alterations in serum biomarkers,such as hemoglobin A1c,ceruloplasmin,creatinine,low-density lipoprotein,and highdensity lipoprotein,are associated with both DR and DFUs.Monitoring these parameters can aid in prognosticating long-term outcomes and shed light on shared pathogenic mechanisms that lead to end-organ damage.The frequent cooccurrence of diabetic eye and foot problems mandate that patients affected by either condition undergo reciprocal comprehensive eye and foot evaluations in addition to optimizing diabetes management. | David J Ramsey James T Kwan Arjun Sharma | 2022 | World Journal of Diabetes2022，13，12： | 2 |
