1Multiple genetic alterations and behavior of cellular biology in gastric cancer and other gastric mucosal lesions:H.pylori infection,histological types and staging显示文摘AIM To investigate the expression of multiplegenes and the behavior of cellular biology ingastric cancer(GC)and other gastric mucosallesions and their relations to Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection,tumor staging andhistological subtypes.METHODS Three hundred and twenty-sevenspecimens of gastric mucosa obtained viaendoscopy or surgical resection,and ABCimmunohistochemical staining were used todetect the expression of p53,p16,Bcl-2 andCOX-2 proteins.H.pylori was determined byrapid urea test combined with pathologicalstaining or14C urea breath test.Cellular image analysis was performed in 66 patients withintestinal metaplasia(IM)and/or dysplasia(Dys).In 30 of them,both cancer and theparacancerous tissues were obtained at the timeof surgery.Histological pattern,tumor staging,lymph node metastasis,grading ofdifferentiation and other clinical data werestudied in the medical records.RESULTS p16 expression of IM or Dys wassignificantly lower in positive H.pylori chronicatrophic gastritis(CAG)than those withnegative H.pylori(CAG:54.8% vs 88.0%,IM:34.4% vs 69.6%,Dys:23.8% vs 53.6%,allP<0.05),Bcl-2 or COX-2 expression of IM orDys in positive H.pylori cases was significantlyhigher than that without H.pylori(Bcl-2:68.8%vs23.9%,90.5% vs 60.7%;COX-2:50.0% vs10.8%,61.8% vs 17.8%;all P<0.05).Themean number of most parameters of cellularimage analysis in positive H.pylori group wassignificantly higher than that in negative H.pylori group(Ellipser:53±14,40±12μm,Area1:748±572,302±202 μm2,Area2:3050±1661,1681±1990 μm2,all P<0.05;Ellipseb:79±23,58±15 μm,Ratio1:22%±5%,13%±4%,Ratio2:79%±17%,53%±20%,all P<0.01).There was significant correlation between Bcl-2and histologic pattern of gastric carcinoma,andbetween COX-2 and tumor staging or lymph nodemetastasis(Bcl-2:75.0% vs 16.7%;COX-2:76.0% vs 20.0%,79.2% vs 16.7%;allP<0.05).CONCLUSION p1l6, Bcl-2, and COX-2 but not p53 gene may play a role in the early genesis/ progression of gastric carcinoma and are associated with H. pylori infection. p53 gene is relatively late event in gastric tumorigenesis and mainly relates to its progression. There is more cellular-biological behavior of malignant tumor in gastric mucosal lesions with H. pylori infection. Aberrant Bcl-2 protein expression appears to be preferentially associated with the intestinal type cancer. 2Clusterin:Review of research progress and looking ahead to direction in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Liver cancer, a large proportion of which is hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), is diagnosed in more than 700000 people each year worldwide. Liver cancer is particularly prevalent in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and the South Pacific, where hepatitis B and hepatitis C infection rates are very high. However, due to resistance to chemotherapy, patients with intermediate and advanced-stage disease cannot benefit from this treatment. Clusterin, which is overexpressed in many different cancers, is a stress-induced cytoprotective protein that confers treatment resistance. Custirsen(OGX-011) is a novel 2'-methoxyethyl modified phosphorothioate antisense oligonucleotide that targets secretory clusterin protein expression and is currently in clinical trials for patients with different cancers. In recent years, a number of different clinical trials have been performed, and two phase Ⅲ clinical trials of custirsen evaluating combinations with chemotherapy in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer and metastatic non-small cell lung cancer are currently in progress. 3Molecular Typing of Leptospira interrogans Strains Isolated from Rattus tanezumi in Guizhou Province,Southwest of China显示文摘Objective To identify and type three leptospires isolated from Rattus tanezumi in Guizhou Province by using three molecular techniques (PFGE, MLVA, and MLST), reveal the molecular characteristic of causative agents of local leptospirosis and evaluate these three molecular methods based on their detection resolution and efficiency. Methods Three Leptospira strains were isolated from the kidney of Rattus tanezumi and cultured with EMJH medium. PFGE, MLVA, and MLST assays were applied to type the three strains isolated from Rattus tanezumi in Guizhou Province. Results PFGE, MLVA, and MLST typing showed that the three leptospiral isolates matched with leptospiral serogroup Icterohaemorrhagiae serovar Lai. The findings of the genotyping methods were consistent. MLVA and MLST defined genotypes, whereas PFGE allowed the recognition of additional subgroups within the genotypes, and the findings of molecular typing were also consistent with those of traditional techniques. 4Magnetic-dielectric synergy and interfacial engineering to design yolk-shell structured CoNi@void@C and CoNi@void@C@MoS_(2) nanocomposites with tunable and strong wideband microwave absorption显示文摘In order to effectively utilize the magnetic-dielectric synergy and interfacial engineering,in this paper,yolk–shell structured magnetic multicomponent nanocomposites(MCNCs)including CoNi@void@C and CoNi@void@C@MoS_(2) were produced in large scale by in-situ pyrolysis of cubic CoNi Prussian blue analogs(PBAs)followed by the hydrothermal process,respectively.Because of their unique structures,excellent synergistic effect between dielectric and magnetic loss,the as-prepared CoNi@void@C and CoNi@void@C@MoS_(2) MCNCs displayed very outstanding electromagnetic wave absorption performances(EMWAPs)including strong absorption capabilities,broad absorption bandwidth and thin matching thicknesses.Furthermore,the as-prepared CoNi@void@C and CoNi@void@C@MoS_(2) MCNCs well maintained the cubic configuration of CoNi PBAs even after the thermal treatment and hydrothermal processes.The unique structure and formed carbon layers effectively prevented the corrosion of internal CoNi alloy during the formation of MoS_(2),and CoNi@void@C@MoS_(2) MCNCs with different MoS_(2) contents could be synthesized by controlling the hydrothermal temperature.The obtained results revealed that the EM parameters,dielectric and magnetic loss capabilities of CoNi@void@C@MoS_(2) MCNCs could be tuned by controlling hydrothermal temperature and filler loading,which made their outstanding EMWAPs could be achieved in different frequency regions.Taking account of simple process,low density and high chemical stability,our findings provided a new and effective pathway to develop the strong wideband microwave absorbers.Chen Li Xiaosi Qi Xiu Gong Qiong Peng Yanli Chen Ren Xie Wei Zhong 2022Nano Research2022,15,7:11

6Association between Plasma Metal Levels and Diabetes Risk: a Case-control Study in China显示文摘Objective Many metals, some of which have been classified as environmental endocrine disruptors, are used extensively in everyday consumer products and are ubiquitous in our living environment. In the present study, we aimed to explore the associations between the prevalence risk of type 2 diabetes and plasma levels of 20 trace elements as well as those of heavy metals in a Han Chinese population. Methods We conducted a case-control study to investigate the associations between plasma concentrations of 20 metals and diabetes in Jiangsu province. A total of 122 newly diagnosed cases of type 2 diabetes and 429 matched controls were recruited from community physical examinations in Suzhou City of Jiangsu Province. Plasma metal levels were measured by inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Results After adjusting for confounders, plasma vanadium, chromium, manganese, copper, zinc, arsenic, selenium, strontium, palladium, cadmium, cesium, and barium were associated with diabetes risk(P < 0.05). The adjusted OR increased with increasing concentration of vanadium, manganese, copper, zinc, and cesium. Conclusion Many metals, including manganese, copper, zinc, arsenic, selenium, and cadmium in plasma, are associated with the morbidity of diabetes. 8Hierarchical engineering of CoNi@Air@C/SiO_(2)@Polypyrrole multicomponent nanocubes to improve the dielectric loss capability and magnetic-dielectric synergy显示文摘Impedance matching characteristics and loss capabilities including magnetic loss,polarization loss and conduction loss are critical factors to improve microwave absorption performances(MAPs).To elevate these aspects,herein,yolk-shell structured CoNi@Air@C/SiO_(2)@Polypyrrole(PPy)magnetic multicomponent nanocubes(MCNCs)were designed and successfully fabricated in high efficiency through a continuous co-precipitation route,classical Stöber method,thermal treatment and polymerization reaction.The obtained results indicated that the formation of SiO_(2) effectively stabilized the cubic geometrical morphology and yolk-shell structure during the high-temperature pyrolysis process.The introduction of PPy greatly boosted their polarization loss and conductive loss capabilities.Therefore,the as-prepared yolkshell structured CoNi@Air@C/SiO_(2)@PPy MCNCs presented superior MAPs compared to CoNi@Air@C/SiO_(2) MCNCs.Furthermore,by regulating the content of PPy,the obtained CoNi@Air@C/SiO_(2)@PPy MCNCs displayed tunable and excellent comprehensive MAPs in terms of strong absorption capabilities,broad frequency bandwidths and thin matching thicknesses,which could be ascribed to the unique structure and excellent magnetic-dielectric synergistic effect.Therefore,our findings provided an alternative pathway to effectively utilize the magnetic-dielectric synergy and loss capabilities for the developing yolk-shell structured magnetic MCNCs as the strong wideband microwave absorbers.Qiqin Liang Lei Wang Xiaosi Qi Qiong Peng Xiu Gong Yanli Chen Ren Xie Wei Zhong 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,16:7
9Evaluation of ENVISAT ASAR data for sea surface wind retrieval in Hong Kong coastal waters of China显示文摘The C-band wind speed retrieval models,CMOD4,CMOD-IFR2,and CMOD5 were applied to retrieval of sea surface wind speeds from ENVISAT(European environmental satellite)ASAR(advanced synthetic aperture radar)data in the coastal waters near Hong Kong during a period from October 2005 to July 2007.The retrieved wind speeds are evaluated by comparing with buoy measurements and the QuikSCAT(quick scatterometer)wind products.The results show that the CMOD4 model gives the best performance at wind speeds lower than 15 m/s.The correlation coefficients with buoy and QuikSCAT winds are 0.781 and 0.896,respectively.The root mean square errors are the same 1.74 m/s.Namely,the CMOD4 model is the best one for sea surface wind speed retrieval from ASAR data in the coastal waters near Hong Kong.XU Qinga LIN Hui ZHENG Quanan XIU Peng CHENG Yongcun LIU Yuguang 2008Acta Oceanologica Sinica2008,27,4:7
10Comparisons of passive microwave remote sensing sea ice concentrations with ship-based visual observations during the CHINARE Arctic summer cruises of 2010–2018显示文摘In order to apply satellite data to guiding navigation in the Arctic more effectively,the sea ice concentrations(SIC)derived from passive microwave(PM)products were compared with ship-based visual observations(OBS)collected during the Chinese National Arctic Research Expeditions(CHINARE).A total of 3667 observations were collected in the Arctic summers of 2010,2012,2014,2016,and 2018.PM SIC were derived from the NASA-Team(NT),Bootstrap(BT)and Climate Data Record(CDR)algorithms based on the SSMIS sensor,as well as the BT,enhanced NASA-Team(NT2)and ARTIST Sea Ice(ASI)algorithms based on AMSR-E/AMSR-2 sensors.The daily arithmetic average of PM SIC values and the daily weighted average of OBS SIC values were used for the comparisons.The correlation coefficients(CC),biases and root mean square deviations(RMSD)between PM SIC and OBS SIC were compared in terms of the overall trend,and under mild/normal/severe ice conditions.Using the OBS data,the influences of floe size and ice thickness on the SIC retrieval of different PM products were evaluated by calculating the daily weighted average of floe size code and ice thickness.Our results show that CC values range from 0.89(AMSR-E/AMSR-2 NT2)to 0.95(SSMIS NT),biases range from−3.96%(SSMIS NT)to 12.05%(AMSR-E/AMSR-2 NT2),and RMSD values range from 10.81%(SSMIS NT)to 20.15%(AMSR-E/AMSR-2 NT2).Floe size has a significant influence on the SIC retrievals of the PM products,and most of the PM products tend to underestimate SIC under smaller floe size conditions and overestimate SIC under larger floe size conditions.Ice thickness thicker than 30 cm does not have a significant influence on the SIC retrieval of PM products.Overall,the best(worst)agreement occurs between OBS SIC and SSMIS NT(AMSR-E/AMSR-2 NT2)SIC in the Arctic summer.Yuanren Xiu Zhijun Li Ruibo Lei Qingkai Wang Peng Lu Matti Leppäranta 2020Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,9:6
11Atmospheric HULIS and its ability to mediate the reactive oxygen species (ROS): A review显示文摘Atmospheric humic-like substances(HULIS) are not only an unresolved mixture of macroorganic compounds but also powerful chelating agents in atmospheric particulate matters(PMs); impacting on both the properties of aerosol particles and health effects by generating reactive oxygen species(ROS). Currently, the interests of HULIS are intensively shifting to the investigations of HULIS-metal synergic effects and kinetics modeling studies, as well as the development of HULIS quantification, findings of possible HULIS sources and generation of ROS from HULIS. In light of HULIS studies, we comprehensively review the current knowledge of isolation and physicochemical characterization of HULIS from atmospheric samples as well as HULIS properties(hygroscopic, surface activity, and colloidal) and possible sources of HULIS.This review mainly highlights the generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) from PMs, HULIS and transition metals, especially iron. This review also summarized the mechanism of ironorganic complexation and recent findings of OH formation from HULIS-metal complexes. 12Defect and interface engineering in core@shell structure hollow carbon@MoS_(2)nanocomposites for boosted microwave absorption performance显示文摘Defect and interface engineering are efficient approaches to adjust the physical and chemical properties of nanomaterials.In order to effectively utilize these strategies for the improvement of microwave absorption properties(MAPs),in this study,we reported the synthesis of hollow carbon shells and hollow carbon@MoS_(2)nanocomposites by the template-etching and templateetching-hydrothermal methods,respectively.The obtained results indicated that the degree of defect for hollow carbon shells and hollow carbon@MoS_(2)could be modulated by the thickness of hollow carbon shell,which effectively fulfilled the optimization of electromagnetic parameters and improvement of MAPs.Furthermore,the microstructure investigations revealed that the precursor of hollow carbon shells was encapsulated by the sheet-like MoS_(2)in high efficiency.And the introduction of MoS_(2)nanosheets acting as the shell effectively improved the interfacial effects and boosted the polarization loss capabilities,which resulted in the improvement of comprehensive MAPs.The elaborately designed hollow carbon@MoS_(2)samples displayed very outstanding MAPs including strong absorption capabilities,broad absorption bandwidth,and thin matching thicknesses.Therefore,this work provided a viable strategy to improve the MAPs of microwave absorbers by taking full advantage of their defect and interface engineering.Junxiong Xiao Xiaosi Qi Xiu Gong Qiong Peng Yanli Chen Ren Xie Wei Zhong 2022Nano Research2022,15,9:6
13Remineralization of enamel caries by an amelogenin-derived peptide and fluoride in vitro显示文摘Dental caries is one of the most common oral diseases in the world.This study was tantamount to investigate the combinatory effects of an amelogenin-derived peptide(called QP5)and fluoride on the remineralization of artificial enamel caries.The peptide QP5 was synthesized and characterized,and the binding capability of the peptide on hydroxyapatite(HA)and demineralized tooth enamel surface was analysed.Then,the mineralization function of the peptide and fluoride was studied through the spontaneous mineralization testing and remineralization on enamel caries in vitro.First,the novel peptide QP5 could bind on the hydroxyapatite and demineralized tooth enamel surfaces.Second,QP5 can transitorily stabilize the formation of amorphous calcium phosphate and direct the transformation into hydroxyapatite crystals alone and in combination with fluoride.In addition,compared to blocks treated by peptide QP5 alone or fluoride,the sample blocks showed significantly higher surface microhardness,lower mineral loss and shallower lesion depth after treatment with a combination of QP5 and fluoride at high or low concentrations.The peptide QP5 could control the crystallization of hydroxyapatite,and combinatory application of peptide QP5 and fluoride had a potential synergistic effect on the remineralization of enamel caries.Longjiang Ding Sili Han Kun Wang Sainan Zheng Wenyue Zheng Xiu Peng Yumei Niu Wei Li Linglin Zhang 2020Regenerative Biomaterials2020,7,3:6

15Microstructure optimization of core@shell structured MSe_(2)/FeSe_(2)@MoSe_(2)(M=Co,Ni)flower-like multicomponent nanocomposites towards high-efficiency microwave absorption显示文摘In this work,we put forward a scheme to exquisitely design and selectively synthesize the core@shell structured MSe_(2)/FeSe_(2)@MoSe_(2)(M=Co,Ni)flower-like multicomponent nanocomposites(MCNCs)through a simple two-step hydrothermal reaction on the surfaces of MFe_(2)O_4 nanospheres with the certain amounts of Mo and Se sources.With increasing the amounts of Mo and Se sources,the obtained core@shell structured MSe_(2)/FeSe_(2)@MoSe_(2)(M=Co,Ni)MCNCs with the enhanced content of MoSe_(2)and improved flower-like geometry morphology could be produced on a large scale.The obtained results revealed that the as-prepared samples displayed improved comprehensive microwave absorption properties(CMAPs)with the increased amounts of Mo and Se sources.The as-prepared CoSe_(2)/FeSe_(2)@MoSe_(2)and NiSe_(2)/FeSe_(2)@MoSe_(2)MCNCs with the well-defined flower-like morphology could simultaneously present the outstanding CMAPs in terms of strong absorption capability,wide absorption bandwidth,and thin matching thicknesses,which mainly originated from the conduction loss and flower-like geometry morphology.Therefore,the findings not only develop the very desirable candidates for high-performance microwave absorption materials but also pave a new way for optimizing the CMAPs through tailoring morphology engineering.Jingjing Zhang Xiaosi Qi Xiu Gong Qiong Peng Yanli Chen Ren Xie Wei Zhong 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,33:5
16Ethnic Differences in Preterm Birth Risks for Pregnant Women with Thyroid Dysfunction or Autoimmunity:A Meta-analysis显示文摘Objective Abnormal maternal thyroid function is associated with preterm birth.However,this association stays dubious in relevant individual studies for ethnic difference reasons and lack of direct supporting data.This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between preterm birth and thyroid dysfunction or autoimmunity based on ethnic differences.Methods Relevant studies were identified through searches of MEDLINE,Excerpta Medica,Wan Fang,China Biological Medicine disc,and China National Knowledge Infrastructure from inception to June 15,2016.Original articles in which an incidence or prevalence of thyroid dysfunction or autoimmunity before second trimester of pregnancy could be extracted were included.Results Thirty-two unique studies were included for the final meta-analysis.Patients involved were divided into two groups:Group 1(G1) and Group 2(G2) comprising of Asian and Caucasian populations,respectively.Positive thyroid antibodies were associated with the occurrence of preterm birth in both G1 [odds ratio(OR):3.62,95% confidence interval(CI):2.83-4.65] and G2(OR:1.35,95% CI:1.17-1.56);hypothyroidism,only in G2(OR:1.20,CI:1.09-1.33);and subclinical hypothyroidism or hypothyroxinemia,in neither group.Conclusion Thyroid autoimmunity may be a more favorable factor leading to preterm birth among pregnant women of different ethnicities,compared with thyroid dysfunction.LI Min WANG Shao Wei WU Feng Li SHI Jin YU Pu Lin PENG Xiu Ling SUN Liang 2016Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,10:5
17Tunable and improved microwave absorption of flower-like core@shell MFe_(2)O_(4)@MoS_(2)(M=Mn,Ni and Zn)nanocomposites by defect and interface engineering显示文摘Previous results revealed that the defect and/or interface had a great impact on the electromagnetic pa-rameters of materials.In order to understand the main physical mechanisms and effectively utilize these strategies,in this study,M Fe_(2)O_(4)and flower-like core@shell M Fe_(2)O_(4)@MoS_(2)(M=Mn,Ni,and Zn)sam-ples with different categories were elaborately designed and selectively produced in large scale through a simple two-step hydrothermal reaction.We conducted the systematical investigation on their microstruc-tures,electromagnetic parameters and microwave absorption performances(MAPs).The obtained results revealed that the large radius of M^(2+)cation could effectively boost the concentration of oxygen vacancy in the M Fe_(2)O_(4)and M Fe_(2)O_(4)@MoS_(2)samples,which resulted in the improvement of dielectric loss capabil-ities and MAPs.Furthermore,the introduction of MoS_(2)nanosheets greatly improved the interfacial effect and enhanced the polarization loss capabilities,which also boosted the MAPs.By taking full advantage of the defect and interface,the designed M Fe_(2)O_(4)@MoS_(2)samples displayed tunable and excellent com-prehensive MAPs including strong absorption capability,wide absorption bandwidth and thin matching thicknesses.Therefore,the clear understanding of defect and interface engineering made these strategies well elaborately designed and applicable to improving MAPs.Junxiong Xiao Xiaosi Qi Xiu Gong Qiong Peng Yanli Chen Ren Xie Wei Zhong 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,8:5
18Proteinase-activated receptor 2 promotes tumor cell proliferation and metastasis by inducing epithelialmesenchymal transition and predicts poor prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM To clarify the role of proteinase-activated receptor 2(PAR2) in hepatocellular carcinoma, especially in the process of metastasis.METHODS PAR2 expression levels were assessed by qRT-PCR and immunohistochemistry(IHC) in patient tissues and in hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines SMMC-7721 and Hep G2. Cell proliferation and metastasis were assessed both in vitro and in vitro. Immunoblotting was carried out to monitor the levels of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) and epithelial-mesenchymal transition markers.RESULTS The prognosis was significantly poorer in patients with high PAR2 levels than in those with low PAR2 levels. Patients with high PAR2 levels had advanced tumor stage(P = 0.001, chi-square test), larger tumor size(P = 0.032, chi-square test), and high microvascular invasion rate(P = 0.037, chi-square test). The proliferation and metastasis ability of SMMC-7721 and Hep G2 cells was increased after PAR2 overexpression, while knockdown of PAR2 decreased the proliferation and metastasis ability of SMMC-7721 and Hep G2 cells. Knockdown of PAR2 also inhibited hepatocellular carcinoma tumor cell growth and liver metastasis in nude mice. Mechanistically, PAR2 increased the proliferation ability of SMMC-7721 and Hep G2 cells via ERK activation. Activated ERK further promoted the epithelial-mesenchymal transition of these cells, which endowed them with enhanced migration and invasion ability. CONCLUSION These data suggest that PAR2 plays an important role in the proliferation and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma. 19Bone Loss Induced by Simulated Microgravity,Ionizing Radiation and/or Ultradian Rhythms in the Hindlimbs of Rats显示文摘Objective To better understand the pathological causes of bone loss in a space environment, including microgravity, ionizing radiation, and ultradian rhythms. Methods Sprague Dawley(SD) rats were randomly divided into a baseline group, a control group, a hindlimb suspension group, a radiation group, a ultradian rhythms group and a combined-three-factor group. After four weeks of hindlimb suspension followed by X-ray exposure and/or ultradian rhythms, biomechanical properties, bone mineral density, histological analysis, microstructure parameters, and bone turnover markers were detected to evaluate bone loss in hindlimbs of rats. Results Simulated microgravity or combined-three factors treatment led to a significant decrease in the biomechanical properties of bones, reduction in bone mineral density, and deterioration of trabecular parameters. Ionizing radiation exposure also showed adverse impact while ultradian rhythms had no significant effect on these outcomes. Decrease in the concentration of the turnover markers bone alkaline phosphatase(b ALP), osteocalcin(OCN), and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase-5 b(TRAP-5 b) in serum was in line with the changes in trabecular parameters. Conclusion Simulated microgravity is the main contributor of bone loss. Radiation also results in deleterious effects but ultradian rhythms has no significant effect.
