1Nasal metastases from renal cell carcinoma are associated with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center poor-prognosis classification显示文摘Unusual sites of metastases are recognized in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC). However, the prognostic implications of these sites are not well understood. We used the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) risk classification for metastatic RCC to evaluate 912 consecutive patients with RCC managed at the Singapore General Hospital between 1990 and 2009. Among these patients, 301 had metastases either at diagnosis or during the course of illness. Nasal metastases, all arising from clear cell RCC, were identified histologically in 4 patients (1.3% of those with metastasis). All 4 patients were classified as MSKCC poor prognosis by current risk criteria. Nasal metastases were significantly associated with lung and bone metastases. The frequency of nasal metastases in patients with metastatic RCC is about 1%, occurring predominantly in patients with clear cell RCC. 3Clear felling and burning effects on soil nitrogen transforming bacteria and actinomycetes population in Chittagong University campus, Bangladesh显示文摘The effect of forests clear felling and associated burning on the population of soil nitrogen transforming bacteria and actinomycetes are reported at three pair sites of Chittagong University campus, Bangladesh in monsoon tropical climate. Clear felled area or burnt site and 15-21 year mixed plantation of native and exotic species, situated side by side on low hill having Typic Dystrochrepts soil was represented at each pair site. At all the three pair sites, clear felled area or burnt site showed very significantly (p≤0.001) lower population of actinomycetes, Rhizobium, Nitrosomonas, Nitrobacter and ammonifying as well as denitrifying bacteria compared to their adjacent mixed plantation. 4Further investigations to extract abundant new exact traveling wave solutions of some NLEEs显示文摘In this study,we implement the generalized(G/G)-expansion method established by Wang et al.to examine wave solutions to some nonlinear evolution equations.The method,known as the double(G/G,1/G)-expansion method is used to establish abundant new and further general exact wave solutions to the(3+1)-dimensional Jimbo-Miwa equation,the(3+1)-dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation and symmetric regularized long wave equation.The solutions are extracted in terms of hyperbolic function,trigonometric function and rational function.The solitary wave solutions are constructed from the obtained traveling wave solutions if the parameters received some definite values.Graphs of the solutions are also depicted to describe the phenomena apparently and the shapes of the obtained solutions are singular periodic,anti-kink,singular soliton,singular anti-bell shape,compaction etc.This method is straightforward,compact and reliable and gives huge new closed form traveling wave solutions of nonlinear evolution equations in ocean engineering.M.Mamun Miah Aly R.Seadawy H.M.Shahadat Ali M.Ali Akbar 2019Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2019,4,4:3
5New applications of the two variable (G ′/ G,1/ G)-expansion method for closed form traveling wave solutions of integro-differential equations显示文摘Most fundamental themes in mathematical physics and modern engineering are investigated by the closed form traveling wave solutions of nonlinear evolution equations.In our research,we ascertain abundant new closed form traveling wave solution of the nonlinear integro-differential equations via Ito equation,integro-differential Sawada-Kotera equation,first integro-differential KP hierarchy equation and second integro-differential KP hierarchy equation by two variable(G/G,1/G)-expansion method with the help of computer package like Mathematica.Some shape of solutions like,bell profile solution,anti-king profile solution,soliton profile solution,periodic profile solution etc.are obtain in this investigation.Trigonometric function solution,hyperbolic function solution and rational function solution are established by using our eminent method and comparing with our results to all of the well-known results which are given in the literature.By means of free parameters,plentiful solitary solutions are derived from the exact traveling wave solutions.The method can be easier and more applicable to investigate such type of nonlinear evolution models.M.Mamun Miah H.M.Shahadat Ali M.Ali Akbar Aly R.Seadawy 2019Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2019,4,2:2
6Effects of shifting cultivation on biological and biochemical characteristics of soil microorganisms in Khagrachari hill district, Bangladesh显示文摘We collected soil samples from two representative sites at Aatmile of Khagarachari hill district in Chittagong Hill Tracts. One of the sites was under shifting cultivation and the other an adjacent 13-year old teak plantation. Both sites were in the same physiographic condition and same aspect with parable soil type, which enabled us to measure the effects of shifting cultivation on soil micro-flora. We studied soil physico-chemical properties and the biochemical and biological properties of soil microbes. Moisture and organic matter content as well as fungi and bacterial populations, both in surface and subsurface soils, were significantly(p ≤0.001) lower in shifting cultivated soils compared to soils not under shifting cultivation, i.e. the teak plantation site. The most abundant bacteria in surface(0-10 cm) and sub-surface(10-20 cm) soils under shifting cultivation were Pseudomonas diminuta and Shigella, respectively, while in corresponding soil layers of teak plantation, predominant microbes were Bacillus firmus(0-10 cm) and Xanthomonas(10-20 cm). The microbial population differences cannot be explained by soil texture differences because of the textural similarity in soils from the two sites but could be related to the significantly lower moisture and organic matter contents in soils under shifting cultivation.Sohag Miah S.M. 12Shifting cultivation effects on creek water quality around Barkal Upazila in Chittagong Hill Tracts,Bangladesh显示文摘We report the effects of shifting cultivation on water quality in 16 creeks investigated once in 2007 and twice in 2008 in 16 apparently similar small neighboring watersheds,each of 3 to 5 ha,at four locations around Barkal sub-district under Rangamati District of Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh.Concentrations of SO 4 2and K +,and pH in creek water were lower,and NO 3-N and Na + concentrations were higher in shifting-cultivation land compared to land with either plantation or natural forest or a combination of these cover types.Shifting cultivation effects on some water quality parameters were not significant due to change in land cover of the watershed between two sampling periods either through introduction of planted tree species or naturally regenerated vegetation.Conductivity and concentrations of HCO 3,PO 4 3,Ca 2+ and Mg 2+ in creek water showed no definite trend between shifting cultivation and the other land cover types.At one area near the Forest Range Office of Barkal,creek water pH was 5.8 under land cover with a combination of shifting cultivation and plantation.At this area Na + concentration in shifting-cultivation land ranged from 32.33 to 33.00 mg L-1 and in vegetated area from 25.00 to 30.50 mg L-1 in 2007.At another area,Chaliatali Chara,SO 4 2concentration in a shifting-cultivation watershed ranged from 4.46 to 10.51 mg L-1,lower than in a vegetated watershed that ranged from 11.69 to 19.98 mg L-1 in 2007.SO 4 2concentration in this shifting-cultivation area ranged from 1.28 to 1.37 mg L-1 and in the vegetated area from 1.37 to 3.50 mg L-1 in 2008.Shyamal Karmakar S.M.Sirajul Haque M.Mozaffar Hossain Sohag Miah 2012Journal of Forestry Research2012,23,4:1
