Mo SILTCIDE SYNTHISIS BY DUAL ION BEAM DEPOSITION显示文摘Mo suicides Mo5 Si3 with high quality were prepared using ion beam deposition equipment with two Filter Metal Vacuum Arc Deposition (FMEVAD). When the number of alternant deposition times was 198, total thickness of the coating is 40nm. The coatings with droplet free can be readily obtained, so the surface is smooth. TEM observation shows that Mo and Si alternant deposition coating is compact structure. The fine Mo suicide grains densely distributed in the coating. The coating adherence on silicon is excellent. | T.H. Zhang, Z.Z. Yi, X. Y. Wu, S.J. Zhang, Y. G. Wu, X. Zhang, H.X. Zhang, A.D. Liu and X.J. | 2 | INTERFACE REACTION IN MAGNETIC MULTILAYERS显示文摘Ta/NiO/NiFe/Ta multilayers were prepared by rf reactive and dc magnetron sputtering. The exchange coupling field (Hex) between NiO and NiFe reached 120Oe. The composition and chemical states at the interface region of NiO/NiFe were studied using the x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and peak decomposition technique. The results show that there are two thermodynamically favorable reactions at NiO/NiFe interface: NiO+Fe=Ni+FeO and 3NiO+2Fe = 3Ni+Fe2O3. The thickness of the chemical reaction as estimated by angle-resolved XPS was about 1-1.5nm. These interface reaction products are magnetic defects, and we believe that the Hex and the coercivity (Hc) of NiO/NiFe are affected by these defects. Moreover, the results also show that there is an 'intermixing layer' at the Ta/NiO (and NiO/Ta) interface due to a thermodynamically favorable reaction: 2Ta+5NiO=5Ni+ Ta2O5. This interface reaction has an effect on the exchange coupling as well. The thickness of the 'intermixing layer' as estimated by XPS depth-profiles was about 8-10nm. | G.H. Yu, M.H Li, F. W Zhu, X.F. | 3 | Liquid Crystal Motion Picture Projector显示文摘LiquidCrystalMotionPictureProjector①SHIYongji(LuoyangTechnologyColege,Luoyang471003,CHN)Abstract:Aliquidcrystalmovingpicturep... | SHI Yongji(Luoyang Technology College,Luoyang 471003,CHN)Abstract: A liquid crystal moving picture projector and method are described.Light incident on a liquid crystal display-type device is selectively scattered or transmitted by respective portions of liquid crystal display, and a projection mechanism projects an image formed by either such scattered light or such transmitted light.A liquid crystal moving picture projector includes a liquid crystal display for creating characteristics of an image, and projecttion optics for projecting images sequentially created by the display. The display includes a liquid crystal material capable of temporary storing information at respective areas. The temporary storage may be a function of charge storing directly on liquid crystal material.A method of projecting plural images in sequence includes:creating an image or characteristics of an image in a liquid crystal material, storing such image in such liquid crystal material, directing light at such liquid crystal material, projecting such image as a function of light transmitted through or scattered by such liquid crystal material, and creating a further image in such liquid crystal material for subsequent projection. | 1997 | Semiconductor Photonics and Technology1997,3,3: | 35
Carbon isotope composition of the Lower Triassic marine carbonates, Lower Yangtze Region, South China显示文摘Studies on three Lower Triassic sections located on the shallow water platform, the deep water slope and in the deep water basin in the Lower Yangtze Region, South China, show the similar trend of carbon isotope evolution. Biostratigraphic correlations among the Lower Triassic sections on the basis of standard conodont zones indicate that three negative shifts occurred in the Griesbachian, the Smithian and the late Spathian stages respectively, and one distinctly positive shift occurred in the early Spathian stage. Trend of carbon isotope evolution of the Lower Triassic reflects some significant changes in the global carbon cycle. Moreover, δ 13C background values are intensively controlled by palaeogeographic environment. In general, δ 13C values from deep-water slope carbonates are lighter than those from carbonate platform and heavier than those from deep-water basin carbonates. The positive carbon isotope excursion may be induced by a significant amount of organic carbon burial in marine sediments and increase in primary productivity. The large negative carbon isotope excursions during the Early Triassic in Lower Yangtze Region are interpreted to relate to volcano eruptions based on tuffaceous claystone interlayers observed near the Permian-Triassic boundary, the Induan- Olenekian boundary and the Lower Triassic-Middle Triassic boundary. | ZUO Jingxun1,2, TONG Jinnan3, QIU Haiou4 & ZHAO Laishi3 1. | 5 | Cementation of sand grains based on carbonate precipitation induced by microorganism显示文摘Microbes can produce 2 3 CO_3^(2-)in an environment conductive to precipitation,so the incompact sands will be consolidated. This technology is environmentally friendly not only because it gives strength to the sand body, but also it allows water to penetrate into the sand body, which is unlike silicate cement that will destroy the ecosystem of the earth. After comparing the activity of three kinds of bacteria, the most suitable one was chosen for the study. However, the activity of this bacterium was still not high enough for the purpose,so it was purified.A suitable program for the consolidation and cementation of sands was also found in the experiment. The compressive strength and the porosity of the cemented sand body were tested to characterize the cementation effectiveness.XRD analysis showed that a new phase of calcite was produced between sand grains. The content of calcite was detected by TG.The study showed that the precipitation program was quite important to obtain a sound cemented sand body in addition to the activity of the bacteria. | QIAN ChunXiang,PAN QingFeng &WANG RuiXing Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Construction Materials,School of Materials Science&Engineering,Southeast University,Nanjing 211189,China | 2010 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,8: | 34

Stability of Ultra-fine Microstructures during Tempering显示文摘The stability of ultra-fine microstructure during tempering at 650℃ was investigated on a Nb-containing steel. The steel had undergone 5 passes controlled rolling, then was relaxed (air cooled) to 730 ℃ and cooled in water The evolution of microstructure was that, in early stage of tempering, no obvious change was detected by means of optical microscopy while dislocation cells were formed inside bainitic laths. With further tempering, bainitic laths started to coalesce in some regions. Finally, polygonal ferrite was formed while hardness decreased dramatically. Some samples taken from the same primary plate were reheated at 930 ℃for 0.5 h followed by quenching into water before tempering. Despite their lower original hardness, the reheated samples softened faster during tempering. Ferrite was quickly formed in the reheated samples. These results indicate that the evolution of microstructures towards equilibrium during tempering of the steel is mainly determined by whether dislocations are pinned rather than the dislocation density. | Shanwu Yang, Chengjia Shang,Xinlai He, Xuemin Wang, Yi Yuan (Material Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China) | 2001 | Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2001,8,2: | 25

Study on real working performance and overload safety factor of high arch dam显示文摘Considering the fact that high arch dams have problems such as complicated stress, high cost, and hazards after being damaged, this paper intends to study the effects of load, material strength, and safety analysis method on dam safety and working performance of arch dams.In this article, the effects of temperature, self weight exaction way and water loading on structure response are first discussed, and a more reasonable way of considering is then put forward.By taking into consideration the mechanical property of materials and comparing the effects of different yield criteria on overloading safety of high arch dams, this paper concludes that brittle characteristics of concrete should be fully considered when conducting safety assessment for high arch dams to avoid overestimating the bearing capacity of the dams.By comparing several typical projects, this paper works out a safety assessment system of multiple safety and relevant engineering analogical analysis methods, which is closer to the actual situation, and thus is able to assess the response of high arch dam structure in a more comprehensive way, elicit the safety coefficients in different situations, and provide a new way of considering the safety assessment of high arch dams. | ZHANG GuoXin,LIU Yi & ZHOU QiuJing Department of Structures and Materials,China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research,Beijing 100038,China | 2008 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2008,51,S2: | 25
Relaxation of Deformed Austenite and Refinement of Bainite in a Nb-Containing Microalloyed Steel显示文摘By means of stress relaxation and strain-induced precipitation in deformed austenite, bainite with micron sheaves size was ob-tained in Nb-containing steel. Microstructures of deformed samples isothermally relaxed for various time followed by cooling in water were examined. Stress relaxation test and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were employed to detect precipitation of microalloy elements, such as Nb, Ti, during isothermal holding after deformation. All the samples were constituted by lath-like bainite along with acicular ferrite, but the size of bainitic sheaves and the amount of acicular ferrite were changed with relaxation time. To achieve optimum refinement, relaxation should be confined in the stage when the precipitates have sufficiently grown and started to coarsen. The sample having not undergone relaxation does not exhibit obvious refinement despite of its higher dislocation density. These results indicate that relaxation promotes bainite to refine, which is because deformed austenitic grains are divided by dislocation walls formed during rela-xation and acicular ferrite formed before bainitic transformation. | Shanwu Yang, Xuemin Wang, Chengjia Shang, Xinlai He, Yi Yuan Material Science and Engineering School, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China | 2001 | Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2001,8,3: | 24

Synthetically adaptive robust filtering for satellite orbit determination显示文摘The quality of the satellite orbit determination is rested on the knowledge of per-turbing forces acting on the satellite and stochastic properties of the observations, and the ability of controlling various kinds of errors. After a brief discussion on the dynamic and geometric orbit determinations, Sage adaptive filtering and robust filtering are reviewed. A new synthetically adaptive robust filtering based on a combination of robust filtering and Sage filtering is devel-oped.It is shown, by derivations and calculations, that the synthetically adaptive robust filtering for orbit determination is not only robust but also simple in calculation. It controls the effects of the outliers of tracking observations and the satellite dynamical disturbance on the parameter esti-mates of the satellite orbit. | YANG Yuanxi1 & WEN Yuanlan2 1. | 16 | Surface hardening of Fe-based alloy powders by Nd:YAG laser cladding followed by electrospark deposition with WC-Co cemented carbide显示文摘This paper presents the results of a study concerned with the surface hardening of Fe-based alloys and WC-8Co cemented carbide by integrating laser cladding and the electrospark deposition processes.Specimens of low carbon steel were processed firstly by laser cladding with Fe-based alloy powders and then by electrospark deposition with WC-8Co cemented carbide. It is shown that, for these two treatments, the electrospark coating possesses finer microstructure than the laser coating, and the thickness and surface hardness of the electrospark coating can be substantially increased. | WANG Jiansheng,MENG Huimin,YU Hongying,FAN Zishuan, and SUN Dongbai School of Materials Science and Engineering,University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing 100083,China | 2010 | Rare Metals2010,29,4: | 22
Investigation of changes in properties of water under the action of a magnetic field显示文摘The properties of water and their changes under the action of a magnetic field were gathered by the spectrum techniques of infrared, Raman, visible, ultraviolet and X-ray lights, which may give an insight into molecular and atomic structures of water. It was found that some properties of water were changed, and a lot of new and strange phenomena were discovered after magnetization. Magnetized water really has magnetism, which has been verified by a peak shift of X-ray diffraction of magnetized water + Fe3O4 hybrid relative to that of pure water + Fe3O4 hybrid, that is a saturation and memory effect. The properties of infrared and ultraviolet absorp-tions, Raman scattering and X-ray diffraction of magnetized water were greatly changed relative to those of pure water; their strengths of peaks were all increased, the frequencies of some peaks did also shift, and some new peaks, for example, at 5198, 8050 and 9340 cm?1, occurred at 25℃ after water was magnetized. In the meanwhile, the magnetized effects of water are related to the magnetized time, the intensity of an externally applied magnetic field, and the temperature of water, but they are not a linear relationship. The study also showed a lot of new and unusual properties of magnetized water, for example, the six peaks in 3000-3800 cm?1 in infrared absorption, the exponential increase of ultraviolet absorption of wave with the decreasing wavelength of light of 200-300 nm, the frequency-shifts of peaks, a strange irreversible effect in the increasing and decreasing processes, as well as a stronger peak of absorption occurring at 50℃, 70℃ and 80℃, the existence of many models of motion from 85℃ to 95℃ in 8000-10000 cm?1, and so on. These results show that the molecular structure of water is very complicated, which needs further study. Furthermore, the macroscopic feature of mechanics, for instance, surface tension force of magnetized water, was also measured. Experiments dis-covered that the size in contact angles of magnetized water on the surface of hy-drophobic materials decreases, thus the surface tension force of magnetized water decreases relative to that of pure water. It is seen from the above results that the clustering structure of hydrogen-bonded chains and polarization effects of water molecules are enhanced after magnetization. These results are helpful in revealing the mechanism of magnetization of water. | PANG XiaoFeng1,2 & DENG Bo1 1 Institute of Life Science and Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu 610054, China 2 International Centre for Materials Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang 110015, China | 2008 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2008,51,11: | 23
The Aging Feature of Al-L-Cu-Mg-Zr Alloy Containing Sc显示文摘The aging behaviors of Al 1.42%Li 2.41%Cu 0.93%Mg 0.073%Zr 0.17%Sc(mass fraction, the same below) alloy at room temperature, 160 ℃ , and 160 ℃ after 8% pre deformation were studied respectively by hardness measurement. The microstructure of the alloy in various aging conditions was observed by TEM. The results show that the main precipitations of the alloy in quenching condition are the particles containing Sc and Zr which have certain coherent relation with the matrix. Addition of Sc in Al Li Cu Mg Zr alloy will be favorable to promoting precipitation. The particles can serve as preferred nucleation sites for δ′ phases which accelerate the aging hardening rate at initial aging. The main hardening phases of the alloy aged at 160 ℃ are δ′ and δ′/β′ composite precipitates. The size of the composite precipitates is very small (nanometer size). The composite precipitates will preclude efficiently the formation concentrative slip location and will improve the mechanical properties of the alloy. S′ phase will occur in the alloy aged at 160 ℃ after 8% pre deformation. It is found that 8% pre deformation has no obvious influence on the precipitation of the composite phase. | TAN Cheng yu,ZHENG Zi qiao,XIA Chang qing,LIANG Ying (Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Central South University of Technology, Changsha 410083, China) | 2000 | Journal of Central South University2000,12,2: | 22
Forming limits under multi-index constraints in NC bending of aluminum alloy thin-walled tubes with large diameters显示文摘With increasing diameters of aluminum alloy thin-walled tubes (AATTs), the tube forming limits, i.e. the minimum bending factors, and their predictions under multi-index constraints including wrinkling, thinning and flattening have been being a key problem to be urgently solved for improving tube forming potential in numerical control (NC) bending processes of AATTs with large diameters. Thus in this paper, a search algorithm of the forming limits is put forward based on a 3D elastic-plastic finite element (FE) model and a wrinkling energy prediction model for the bending processes under axial compression loading (ACL) or not. This algorithm enables to be considered the effects of process parameter combinations including die, friction parameters on the multi-indices. Based on this algorithm, the forming limits of the different size tubes are obtained, and the roles of the process parameter combinations in enabling the limit bending processes are also revealed. The followings are found: the first, within the appropriate ranges of friction and clearances between the different dies and the tubes enabling the bending processes with smaller bending factors, the ACL enables the tube limit bending processes after a decrease of the mandrel ball thickness and diameters; then, without considering the effects of the tube geometry sizes on the tube constitutive equations, the forming limits will be decided by the limit thinning values for the tubes with diameters smaller than 80 mm, while the wrinkling for the tubes with diameters no less than 80 mm. The forming limits obtained from this algorithm are smaller than the analytical results, and reduced by 57.39%; the last, the roles of the process parameter combinations in enabling the limit bending processes are verified by experimental results. | YAN Jing, YANG He, ZHAN Mei & LI Heng College of Materials Science and Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Solidification Processing, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an 710072, China | 2010 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,2: | 21
Wear characteristics of spheroidal graphite roll WC-8Co coating produced by electro-spark deposition显示文摘Electro-spark deposition(ESD) was adopted for preparing high property coatings by depositing WC-8Co cemented carbide on an spheroidal graphite roll substrate. The microstructure and properties of the coating were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) and ball-disc configuration wear tester. The results show that nanosized particles and amorphous structures prevail in the coating which is metallurgically bonded to the substrate. The microstructures of the transition zone include columnar structure and equiaxed structure. The primary phases of the coating contain W2C, W6C2.54, Fe3W3C, and Co3W3C.The results of abrasive test show that the coating has low friction coefficients(μaverage = 0.18) and the wear mechanisms are mainly abrasive wear, fatigue wear, and oxidation wear. The maximum microhardness value of the coating is about 17410 N/mm2.The study reveals that the electro-spark deposition process has better coating quality and the coating has high wear resistance and hardness. | WANG Jiansheng, MENG Huimin, YU Hongying, FAN Zishuan, and SUN Dongbai School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China | 2010 | Rare Metals2010,29,2: | 21
