| 1 | Clinical utility of Epstein-Barr virus DNA and other liquid biopsy markers in nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)is a malignant epithelial tumor ubiquitously associated with the Epstein-Barr virus(EBV),which is highly prevalent in South China,Southeast Asia,and North Africa.Despite being a highly radio-sensitive and treatable cancer,a majority of NPC patients are diagnosed in their advanced stage,and locoregional and distant relapses following definitive treatment contribute largely to cancer-specific mortality among these patients.Given that EBV-driven NPC is the predominant variant seen in endemic regions,various EBV detection methods have been developed and are utilized in screening,prognostication,and post-treatment surveillance of NPC patients.While the Immunoglobulin A(IgA)serology assay is the most extensively studied EBV detection method,the detection of plasma EBV DNA released during replication or cellular apoptosis has shown superior outcomes in endemic population screening,prognostication,and detection of distant relapse.Furthermore,there is emerging evidence on the use of circulating tumor cells,microRNAs,DNA hypermethylation,and combination assays in various clinical scenarios.Herein,this paper provides a comprehensive overview of the relevant studies using various EBV detection techniques in the management of NPC.Specifically,the recent advances,clinical evidence,and challenges associated with the clinical application of EBV liquid biopsies in population screening,prognostication,and surveillance of NPC are presented. | Rong Tan Sean Kean Ann Phua Yoke Lim Soong Lynette Lin Ean Oon Kian Sing Chan Sasidharan Swarnalatha Lucky Jamie Mong Min Han Tan Chwee Ming Lim | 2020 | Cancer Communications2020，40，11： | 8 |

| 3 | Analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of the ethanol extract of the leaves of Helianthus Annus in Wistar rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of the ethanol extract of leaves of Helianthus annus L.(H.annus) in acclimatized Wistar rats.Methods:It was undertaken using the albumin induced paw edema model of inflammation as well as both the hotplate and tail immersion analgesic test methods.Doses of the extract tested in experimental rats were 0.5 g/kg,2 g/kg and 4 g/kg while negative and positive control rats received distilled water and indomethacin respectively.Results:It was shown that treatment with the tested doses of the extract effectively inhibited paw edema induced by egg albumin.This effect was comparable if not better than the observations made in rats treated with 10 mg/kg of indomethacin orally.Treatment with the extract was also observed to have significantly increased the mean tolerance time of rats to thermal noxious stimuli compared to control animals that had distilled water and appeared to be more effective than 10 mg/kg of indomethacin treatment.Conclusions: These observations confirmed the presence of a strong anti-inflammatory and anti-noiciceptive activity in the ethanol extract of the leaves of H.annus and therefore validated the folkloric use of the leaves of this plant in treatment of pro-inflammatory,post traumatic situations. | Ejebe Daniel Emamuzo Siminialayi Iyeopu Miniakiri Emudainowho Joseph Oghenebrorie Tedwin Ofesi Ufouma Morka Lucky | 2010 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2010，3，5： | 5 |

| 6 | Distribution of heavy metals in soils of Port Harcourt and its environs, Niger Delta, Nigeria显示文摘Geochemical evaluation of the distribution of heavy metals in soils of Port Harcourt and its environs in the Niger Delta region is presented in respect of anthropogenic factor and index of geoaccumulation. Sixteen (16) soil samples were collected from two horizons (0-10 cm and 100 cm) from the various grids and analyzed. The geo-chemical analyses showed the vertical and horizontal distributions of heavy metals. The results showed the ranges of the metals determined as follows: Pb (6.86-2.49)×10-6, with an average of 4.63×10-6; Cd (0.05-0.00)×10-6, with an average of 0.02×10-6, As (0.01-0.00)×10-6, with an average of 0.00×10-6. Cu (15.36-10.80) ×10-6, with an average of 13.36×10-6, and V (1.36-0.20)×10-6, with an average of 0.94×10-6. Quantification of the degree of pollution was carried out using anthropogenic factor (AF) and index of geoaccumulation (Igeo). The Igeo values of 0.06, 0.02 and 0.00 for Pb, Cd and As, respectively indicate low-level contamination while Zn (1.14) and V (1.40) show me-dium-level contamination. The sources of contamination are attributed to urbanized anthropogenic activities. The majority of the samples analyzed show that the AF values are less than 1 with the exception of vanadium (V) whose AF values range from 2.73 to 13.60×10-6. Vanadium is more enriched than As, Cd, Pb, and Cu. The order of degrees of anthropogenic contamination and index of geoaccumulation in the soil is V >Zn >Pb >Cu >Cd >AS. Metals were retained near the top soil and their concentrations in the deepest horizons were lower and normal for uncontaminated soils.
