1Nitrogen Balance and Loss in a Greenhouse Vegetable System in Southeastern China显示文摘High rates of fertilizer nitrogen (N) are applied in greenhouse vegetable fields in southeastern China to maximize production;however,the N budgets of such intensive vegetable production remain to be explored.The goal of this study was to determine the annual N balance and loss in a greenhouse vegetable system of annual rotation of tomato,cucumber,and celery at five N (urea) application rates (0,348,522,696,and 870 kg N ha-1 year-1).Total N input to the 0-50 cm soil layer ranged from 531 to 1 053 kg ha-1,and N fertilizer was the main N source,accounting for 66%-83% of the total annual N input.In comparison,irrigation water,wet deposition,and seeds in total accounted for less than 1% of the total N input.The fertilizer N use efficiency was only 18% under the conventional application rate of 870 kg N ha-1 and decreased as the application rate increased from 522 to 870 kg N ha-1.Apparent N losses were 196-201 kg N ha-1,of which 71%-86% was lost by leaching at the application rates of 522-870 kg N ha-1.Thus,leaching was the primary N loss pathway at high N application rates and the amount of N leached was proportional to the N applied during the cucumber season.Moreover,dissolved organic N accounted for 10% of the leached N,whereas NH3 volatilization only contributed 0.1%-0.6% of the apparent N losses under the five N application rates in this greenhouse vegetable system.MIN Ju ZHAO Xu SHI Wei-Ming XING Guang-Xi ZHU Zhao-Liang 2011Pedosphere2011,21,4:91
2Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy With Segmental Renal Artery Clamping:Technique and Clinical Outcomes显示文摘Background:Warm ischemic injury is one of the most important factors affecting renal function in partial nephrectomy(PN).The technique of segmental renal artery clamping emerges as an alternative to conventional renal artery clamping for renal hilar control.Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of laparoscopic PN(LPN) with segmental renal artery clamping in comparison with the conventional technique.Design,setting,and participants:A total of 75 patients underwent LPN from June 2007 to November 2009.All patients had T1a or T1b tumor in one kidney and a normal contralateral kidney.Thirty-seven patients underwent surgeries with main renal artery clamping,and 38 underwent surgeries with segmental artery clamping.Intervention:All procedures were performed by the same laparoscopic surgeon.Measurements:Blood loss,operation time,warm ischemia(WI) time,and complications affected renal function before and after operation were recorded.Results and limitations:All LPNs were completed without conversion to open surgery or nephrectomy.The novel technique slightly increased WI time(p < 0.001) and intraoperative blood loss(p = 0.006),while it provided better postoperative affected renal function(p < 0.001) compared with the conventional technique.The total complication rate was 12%.Among the 38 cases where segmental renal artery clamping was performed,7 had to convert to the conventional method.Tumor size and location influenced the number of clamped segmental arteries.Long-term postoperative renal function is still awaited.Conclusions:LPN with segmental artery clamping is safe and feasible in clinical practice.It minimizes the intraoperative WI injury and improves early postoperative affected renal function compared with main renal artery clamping.(C) 2010 European Association of Urology.Published by Elsevier B.V.All rights reserved.Shao,P.F. 3LncRNA-mediated posttranslational modifications and reprogramming of energy metabolism in cancer显示文摘Altered metabolism is a hallmark of cancer,and the reprogramming of energy metabolism has historically been considered a general phenomenon of tumors.It is well recognized that long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)regulate energy metabolism in cancer.However,lncRNA-mediated posttranslational modifications and metabolic reprogramming are unclear at present.In this review,we summarized the current understanding of the interactions between the alterations in cancer-associated energy metabolism and the lncRNA-mediated posttranslational modifications of metabolic enzymes,transcription factors,and other proteins involved in metabolic pathways.In addition,we discuss the mechanisms through which these interactions contribute to tumor initiation and progression,and the key roles and clinical significance of functional lncRNAs.We believe that an in-depth understanding of lncRNA-mediated cancer metabolic reprogramming can help to identify cellular vulnerabilities that can be exploited for cancer diagnosis and therapy.Yue-Tao Tan Jin-Fei Lin Ting Li Jia-Jun Li Rui-Hua Xu Huai-Qiang Ju 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,2:92
4The Beishan underground research laboratory for geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste in China:Planning, site selection,site characterization and in situ tests显示文摘With the rapid development of nuclear power in China, the disposal of high-level radioactive waste(HLW) has become an important issue for nuclear safety and environmental protection. Deep geological disposal is internationally accepted as a feasible and safe way to dispose of HLW, and underground research laboratories(URLs) play an important and multi-faceted role in the development of HLW repositories. This paper introduces the overall planning and the latest progress for China's URL. On the basis of the proposed strategy to build an area-specific URL in combination with a comprehensive evaluation of the site selection results obtained during the last 33 years, the Xinchang site in the Beishan area,located in Gansu Province of northwestern China, has been selected as the final site for China's first URL built in granite. In the process of characterizing the Xinchang URL site, a series of investigations,including borehole drilling,geological mapping, geophysical surveying,hydraulic testing and in situ stress measurements, has been conducted. The investigation results indicate that the geological,hydrogeological, engineering geological and geochemical conditions of the Xinchang site are very suitable for URL construction. Meanwhile, to validate and develop construction technologies for the Beishan URL, the Beishan exploration tunnel(BET), which is a 50-m-deep facility in the Jiujing sub-area, has been constructed and several in situ tests, such as drill-and-blast tests, characterization of the excavation damaged zone(EDZ), and long-term deformation monitoring of surrounding rocks, have been performed in the BET. 5Materials discovery and design using machine learning显示文摘The screening of novel materials with good performance and the modelling of quantitative structureactivity relationships(QSARs),among other issues,are hot topics in the field of materials science.Traditional experiments and computational modelling often consume tremendous time and resources and are limited by their experimental conditions and theoretical foundations.Thus,it is imperative to develop a new method of accelerating the discovery and design process for novel materials.Recently,materials discovery and design using machine learning have been receiving increasing attention and have achieved great improvements in both time efficiency and prediction accuracy.In this review,we first outline the typical mode of and basic procedures for applying machine learning in materials science,and we classify and compare the main algorithms.Then,the current research status is reviewed with regard to applications of machine learning in material property prediction,in new materials discovery and for other purposes.Finally,we discuss problems related to machine learning in materials science,propose possible solutions,and forecast potential directions of future research.By directly combining computational studies with experiments,we hope to provide insight into the parameters that affect the properties of materials,thereby enabling more efficient and target-oriented research on materials discovery and design.Yue Liu Tianlu Zhao Wangwei Ju Siqi Shi 2017Journal of Materiomics2017,3,3:61
6Backfilling technology and strata behaviors in fully mechanized coal mining working face显示文摘Based on the principle of fully mechanized backfilling and coal mining technology and combined with the Xingtai Coal Mine conditions,we mainly optimized the coal mining equipment and adjusted the coal mining method in the Xingtai Coal Mine 7606 working face for implementation this technology.Firstly,we define the practical backfilling process as the ''(from backfilling scraper conveyor's) head to tail backfilling,step by step swinging up of the tamping arm,gradual compacting,moving formed backfilling scraper conveyor when the second tamping arm cannot pass and connecting the immediate roof by back material push front material movement''.Meanwhile,the stress changes of backfill body in coal mined out area was monitored by stress sensors,and the roof caving law was analyzed by monitoring the dynamic subsidence of à210 west roadway of this face.The site tests results show that using this new backfilling and coal mining integrated technology,the production capacity in the 7606 working face can reach to 283,000 ton a year,and 282,000 ton of solid materials(waste and fly ash) is backfilled,which meets the needs of high production and efficiency.The goaf was compactly backfilled with solid material and the strata behavior was quite desirable,with an actual maximum vertical stress of the backfill body of 5.5 MPa.Backfill body control the movement of overburden within a certain range,and there is no collapses of major areas in the overlying strata upon backfilled gob.The maximum subsidence and speed were 231 mm and 15.75 mm/d respectively,which proved the practical significance of this integrated technology.Zhang Qiang Zhang Jixiong Huang Yanli Ju Feng 2012International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,2:55

8Get effective polyclonal antisera in one month显示文摘According to the traditional immunization procedure, after the first injection of the sample A (emulsion of aimed antigen and Freund's complete adjuvant) to immunize rabbit, successive injections of the sample B (emulsion of aimed antigen and Freund's incomplete adjuvant) were followed every 2-4 weeks. In general,high titer of the corresponding polyclonal antisera will be observed after 4-5 injections of sample B in 3-4months. This report presents a simply modified procedure that was able to stimulate the antisera formation in one month and achieve enough avidity to satisfy either Western blot or immunohistochemistry analysis.It just applied an additional injection of the sample A to the rabbit at the 3rd day after the primary immunization injection. You could gain the high titer of the antisera right after the first sample B injection in one month. 10Structure and coalbed methane occurrence in tectonically deformed coals显示文摘Research on structure of tectonically deformed coals(TDC) is a key issue in coal and gas outburst prevention and coalbed methane(CBM) exploitation.This paper presents a summary on the research progress in TDC's structural-genetic classification,tectonic strain influence on coal microstructure,coal porosity system,coal chemical structure and constituents,and their relationship with the excess coalbed methane.Previous studies suggested that tectonic deformation had significant influence on coal microstructure,coal super microstructure,and even chemical macromolecular structure.The main mechanisms of coal deformation are the tectonic stress degradation and polycondensation metamorphism(dynamical metamorphism).Besides,under different deformation mechanisms,the ultra-and micro-structure and chemical constituents of TDC presented distinct characteristics.Based on these achievements,we propose one possible evolutionary trend of TDC with different deformation mechanisms,and suggest that the coal and gas outburst in the TDC,especially in the mylonitic coals,may be not only controlled by geological structure,but also influenced by the tectonic stress degradation of ductile deformation.Therefore,further study on TDC should be focused on the controlling mechanism of deformation on structure and composition of coal,generation conditions and occurrence state of excess coalbed methane from deformation mechanism of coal.HOU QuanLin LI HuiJun FAN JunJia JU YiWen WANG TianKai LI XiaoShi WU YuDong 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,11:49
11Comparison of RECIST version 1.0 and 1.1 in assessment of tumor response by computed tomography in advanced gastric cancer显示文摘Objective:Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(RECIST)guideline version 1.0(RECIST 1.0)was proposed as a new guideline for evaluating tumor response and has been widely accepted as a standardized measure.With a number of issues being raised on RECIST 1.0,however,a revised RECIST guideline version 1.1(RECIST 1.1)was proposed by the RECIST Working Group in 2009.This study was conducted to compare CT tumor response based on RECIST 1.1 vs.RECIST 1.0 in patients with advanced gastric cancer(AGC).Methods:We reviewed 61 AGC patients with measurable diseases by RECIST 1.0 who were enrolled in other clinical trials between 2008 and 2010.These patients were retrospectively re-analyzed to determine the concordance between the two response criteria using theκstatistic.Results:The number and sum of tumor diameters of the target lesions by RECIST 1.1 were significantly lower than those by RECIST 1.0(P<0.0001).However,there was excellent agreement in tumor response between RECIST 1.1 and RECIST 1.0(κ=0.844).The overall response rates(ORRs)according to RECIST1.0 and RECIST 1.1 were 32.7%(20/61)and 34.5%(20/58),respectively.One patient with partial response(PR)based on RECIST 1.0 was reclassified as stable disease(SD)by RECIST 1.1.Of two patients with SD by RECIST 1.0,one was downgraded to progressive disease and the other was upgraded to PR by RECIST 1.1.Conclusions:RECIST 1.1 provided almost perfect agreement with RECIST 1.0 in the CT assessment of tumor response of AGC.Gil-Su Jang Min-Jeong Kim Hong-Il Ha Jung Han Kim Hyeong Su Kim Sung Bae Ju Dae Young Zang 2013Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,6:42
12Visualization of the complex structure and stress field inside rock by means of 3D printing technology显示文摘Accurate characterization and visualization of the complex inner structure and stress distribution of rocks are of vital significance to solve a variety of underground engineering problems. In this paper, we incorporate several advanced technologies, such as CT scan, three-dimensional(3D) reconstruction, and 3D printing, to produce a physical model representing the natural coal rock that inherently contains complex fractures or joints. We employ 3D frozen stress and photoelastic technologies to characterize and visualize the stress distribution within the fractured rock under uniaxial compression. The 3D printed model presents the fracture structures identical to those of the natural prototype. The mechanical properties of the printed model,including uniaxial compression strength, elastic modulus,and Poisson's ratio, are testified to be similar to those of the prototype coal rock. The frozen stress and photoelastic tests show that the location of stress concentration and the stress gradient around the discontinuous fractures are in good agreement with the numerical predictions of the real coalsample. The proposed method appears to be capable of visually quantifying the influences of discontinuous,irregular fractures on the strength, deformation, and stress concentration of coal rock. 13Micro-structural evolution and their effects on physical properties in different types of tectonically deformed coals显示文摘The macromolecular structure of tectonically deformed coals(TDC)may be determined by the deformation mechanisms of coal.Alterations of the macromolecular structure change the pore structure of TDC and thereby impact physical properties such as porosity and permeability.This study focuses on structure and properties of TDC from the Huaibei and Huainan coal mining areas of southern North China.Relationships between the macromolecular structure and the pore structure of TDC were analyzed using techniques such as X-ray diffraction,high-resolution transmission electron microcopy,and the low-temperature nitrogen adsorption.The results indicated that the directional stress condition can cause the arrangement of basic structural units(BSU)more serious and closer.And,the orientation is stronger in ductile deformed coal than in brittle deformed coal.Tectonic deformation directly influences the macromolecular structure of coal and consequently results in dynamic metamorphism.Because the size of BSU in brittle deformed coal increases more slowly than in ductile deformed coal,frictional heating and stress-chemistry of shearing areas might play a more important role,locally altering coal structure under stress,in brittle deformed coal.Strain energy is more significant in increasing the ductile deformation of coal.Furthermore,mesopores account for larger percentage of the nano-scale pore volume in brittle deformed coals,while mesopores volume in ductile deformed coal diminishes rapidly along with an increase in the proportion of micropores and sub-micropores.This research also approved that the deformations of macromolecular structures change nano-scale pore structures,which are very important for gas adsorption and pervasion space for gas.Therefore,the exploration and development potential of coal bed methane is promising for reservoirs that are subjected to a certain degree of brittle deformation(such as schistose structure coal,mortar structure coal and cataclastic structure coal).It also holds promise for TDC resulting from wrinkle structure coal of low ductile deformation and later superimposed by brittle deformation.Other kinds of TDC suffering from strong brittle-ductile and ductile deformation,such as scale structure coal and mylonitic structure coal,are difficult problems to resolve.Yiwen Ju Kray Luxbacher Xiaoshi Li Guochang Wang Zhifeng Yan Mingming Wei Liye Yu 2014International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2014,1,3:43
14Relationship between nano-scale deformation of coal structure and metamorphic-deformed environments显示文摘There is a more consanguineous relation be-tween nano-scale deformation of coal structure and meta-morphic-deformed environment. In different metamor-phic-deformed environments, deformation in the coal struc-ture can occur not only at micro-scale, but also at nano-scale, and even leads to the change of molecular structure and nano-scale pore (<100 nm) structure. The latter is the main space absorbing coalbed methane. Through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and liquid–nitrogen absorption methods, the charac-teristics of macromolecular and nano-scale pore structures of coals in different metamorphic-deformed environments and deformational series of coals have been studied. By combin-ing with high-resolution transmission electron microcopy (HRTEM), the macromolecular and nano-scale pore struc-tures are also directly observed. These results demonstrate that the stacking Lc of the macromolecular BSU in tectonic coals increases quickly from the metamorphic-deformed environment of low rank coals to that of high rank coals. For different deformed tectonic coals, in the same metamor-phic-deformed environment, the difference of Lc is obvious. These changes reflect chiefly the difference of different tem-perature and stress effect of nano-scale deformation in tec-tonic coals. The factor of temperature plays a greater role in the increase of macromolecular structure parameters Lc, the influence of stress factor is also important. With the stress strengthening, Lc shows an increasing trend, and La /Lc shows a decreasing trend. Therefore, Lc and La /Lc can be used as the indicator of nano-scale deformation degree of tectonic coals. With increasing temperature and pressure, especially oriented stress, the orientation of molecular structure be-comes stronger, and ordering degree of C-nets and the ar-rangement of BSU are obviously enhanced. For the deforma-tion of nano-scale pore structure, in the same metamor-phic-deformed environment, along with the strengthening of stress, the ratio of mesopores to its total pores volume of tec-tonic coals reduces to a large extent, the ratio of volume of micropores and the pores whose diameters are lower than micropores increases, and sub-micropores and ultra- micro-pores can be found. Moreover, the ratio of specific surface area of mesopores to its total pores reduces rapidly while theamount of sub-micropores increases more quickly. The duc-tile structure coal has a change in pore parameters similar to that of weak brittle deformation. There are differences in the deformation and evolution of nano-scale pore structure of different kinds of tectonic coals formed in different meta-morphic-deformational environments. 15Yield and Nicotine Content of Flue-Cured Tobacco as Affected by Soil Nitrogen Mineralization显示文摘Nitrogen(N)supply is the most important factor affecting yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco(FCT).A field experiment and an in situ incubation method were used to study the effects of soil N mineralization in the later stages of growth on yield and nicotine content of FCT in Fenggang and Jinsha,Guizhou Province.The yield and market value of FCT at Fenggang were much lower than those at Jinsha.However,the nicotine content of middle and upper leaves was much higher at Fenggang than at Jinsha when the same rate of fertilizer N was applied,which might be due to a higher N supply capacity at the Fenggang site.At later stages of growth(7-16 weeks after transplanting),the soil net N mineralization at Fenggang(56 kg N ha^(-1))was almost double that at Jinsha(30 kg N ha^(-1)).While soil NH_4-N and NO_3-N were almost exhausted by the plants or leached 5 weeks after transplanting,the N taken up at the later growth stages at Fenggang were mainly derived from soil N mineralization,which contributed to a high nicotine content in the upper leaves.The order of soil N contribution to N buildup in different leaves was:upper leaves>middle leaves>lower leaves.Thus,soil N mineralization at late growth stages was an important factor affecting N accumulation and therefore the nicotine content in the upper leaves.JU Xiao-Tang CHAO Feng-Chun LI Chun-Jian JIANG Rong-Feng P. 16Clinical implications of fatty pancreas:Correlations between fatty pancreas and metabolic syndrome显示文摘AIM:To investigate the clinical implications of lipid deposition in the pancreas(fatty pancreas). METHODS:The subjects of this study were 293 patients who had undergone abdominal computed tomography(CT)and sonography.Fatty pancreas was diagnosed by sonographic findings and subdivided into mild,moderate,and severe fatty pancreas groups comparing to the retroperitoneal fat echogenicity. RESULTS:Fatty pancreas was associated with higher levels for visceral fat,waist circumference,aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase (ALT),total cholesterol,triglyceride,high density lipoprotein,free fatty acid,γ-GTP,insulin,and the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR)than the control group(P<0.05).HOMAIR,visceral fat,triglyceride,and ALT also tended to increase with the degree of fat deposition in the pancreas on sonography.In a multivariate logistic regression analysis,HOMA-IR,visceral fat,and ALT level were independently related to fatty pancreas after adjustment for age,body mass index,and lipid profile.The incidence of metabolic syndrome in the fatty pancreas group was significantly higher than in the control group,and the numbers of metabolic syndrome parameters were significantly higher in the fatty pancreas group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Sonographic fatty pancrease showed higher insulin resistance,visceral fat area,triglyceride, and ALT levels than normal pancreases.Fatty pancreas also showed a strong correlation with metabolic syndrome.Jun Seok Lee Sang Heum Kim Dae Won Jun Jee Hye Han Eun Chul Jang Ji Young Park Byung Kwan Son Seong Hwan Kim Yoon Ju Jo Young Sook Park Yong Soo Kim 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,15:40
17Energy analysis and criteria for structural failure of rocks显示文摘The intrinsic relationships between energy dissipation,energy release,strength and abrupt structural failure are key to understanding the evolution of deformational processes in rocks.Theoretical and experimental studies confirm that energy plays an important role in rock deformation and failure.Dissipated energy from external forces produces damage and irreversible deformation within rock and decreases rock strength over time.Structural failure of rocks is caused by an abrupt release of strain energy that manifests as a catastrophic breakdown of the rock under certain conditions.The strain energy released in the rock volume plays a pivotal role in generating this abrupt structural failure in the rocks.In this paper,we propose criteria governing(1) the deterioration of rock strength based on energy dissipation and(2) the abrupt structural failure of rocks based on energy release.The critical stresses at the time of abrupt structural failure under various stress states can be determined by these criteria.As an example,the criteria have been used to analyze the failure conditions of surrounding rock of a circular tunnel.Heping Xie Liyun Li Ruidong Peng Yang Ju 2009Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2009,1,1:39
18High-level radioactive waste disposal in China: update 2010显示文摘For geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste (HLW), the Chinese policy is that the spent nuclear fuel (SNF) should be reprocessed first, followed by vitrification and final disposal. The preliminary repository concept is a shaft-tunnel model, located in saturated zones in granite, while the final waste form for disposal is vitrified high-level radioactive waste. In 2006, the government published a long-term research and development (R&D) plan for geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste. The program consists of three steps: (1) laboratory studies and site selection for a HLW repository (2006–2020); (2) underground in-situ tests (2021–2040); and (3) repository construction (2041–2050) followed by operation. With the support of China Atomic Energy Authority, comprehensive studies are underway and some progresses are made. The site characterization, including deep borehole drilling, has been performed at the most potential Beishan site in Gansu Province, Northwestern China. The data from geological and hydrogeological investigations, in-situ stress and permeability measurements of rock mass are presented in this paper. Engineered barrier studies are concentrated on the Gaomiaozi bentonite. A mock-up facility, which is used to study the thermo-hydro-mechano-chemical (THMC) properties of the bentonite, is under construction. Several projects on mechanical properties of Beishan granite are also underway.
