1Starch grain analysis reveals function of grinding stone tools at Shangzhai site, Beijing显示文摘Prehistoric groundstone tools including slabs (metate, mo-pan) and mullers (mano, mo-bang) are often considered to be tools that were used to process cereals in ancient China. Most archaeologists believe that groundstone tools are indicators of an agrarian economy. This study employed starch grain analysis to examine a slab and a muller excavated from the Shangzhai Site (7500-7000 cal a BP), Beijing. Identifiable starch grains recovered from the stone tools were classified into 9 genera and 12 species, most of which were from acorns and foxtail millets. Remains from the oak species Q. mongolicus, Q. acuttssima, and Q. dentate were identified as well as a few starch grains from broomcorn (Panicum miliaseum) and bean (Vigna sp.). Other starch grains were from unidentifiable roots and grasses. A variety of starch grains indicates that the grinding stone tools were used to process not only cereals, but also other seeds or roots that had to be ground or husked, thus bringing into question the aforementioned cereal hypothesis. Because the numbers of starch grains from nuts and millets were so large, both gathering and cultivation might have been important economic patterns before 7000 years ago in Beijing area. 2Zircon SHRIMP U-Pb geochronology,geochemistry and petrogenesis of the upper Eocene Shuangmaidi peraluminous granite in Baoshan Block,Western Yunnan Terrain,southwestern China显示文摘The Baoshan Block is tectonically located in the middle segment of the Sibumasu plate.Granitic magmatism within the Baoshan Block has been considered weakly active due mainly to very limited exposures during the Himalaya orogenic episode.The geochronological study on the buried Shuangmaidi granite has confirmed the existence of the Cenozoic granitoids in the Baoshan Block.The present study indicates that:(1) It is medium-to coarse-grained two mica phyric granite,characterized by high SiO 2 (73.55%-77.16%) and low CaO (0.34%-1.38%) contents,with a total alkalis (K 2 O+Na 2 O) of 5.22%-8.03%,K 2 O/Na 2 O ratios of 0.24-1.79,and total rare earth elements (ΣREE) of the granite between 85 and 125 ppb.All samples are enriched in light REE and exhibit medium negative Eu anomalies;and they show pronounced negative anomalies in Ba,Sr,Ti,and Nb but significant positive anomalies in K,Rb,U,Th,and Pb on mantle-normalized trace element patterns,indicating typi-cally peraluminous to strongly peraluminous S-type granite.(2) The zircon SHRIMP U-Pb ages of the granite are 36.27±0.48 Ma for the samples from ZK7-1 and 35.78±0.49 Ma for those from ZK0-1,respectively.The similar zircon ages from these two drill cores may suggest that the granite samples come from the same buried pluton.(3) 206 Pb/204 Pb values of the granite vary from 20.115 to 25.359,207 Pb/204 Pb from 15.776 to 16.160,and 208 Pb/204 Pb from 39.236 to 41.285,showing the characteristics of radio-active lead anomaly of the upper crust.The (87 Sr/86 Sr) i values calculated on the average age of the two-mica orthoclase granite (36 Ma) range from 0.72524 to 0.77503 and ε Nd (t) values vary from 10.9 to 11.7.These data,along with the depleted-mantle Nd modal ages of 1.73-1.80 Ga,imply that the granites might have formed from partial melting of the Precambrian crystal basements.(4) On the Hf-Rb-Ta diagram,almost all the samples fall within the field of post-collision tectonic setting.The CaO/Na 2 O and Al 2 O 3/TiO 2 ratios suggest that the granitic magma may have formed from partial melting of clay-rich crustal materials with a pos-sible melting temperature of about 900°C and a possible crystallization temperature of 775-795°C.(5) During the post-collision of the Himalaya orogen,with the southeastward extrusion of the Indochina continent resulting from the continuous northward indentation of the India continent into the Asia,the Gaoligong Fault,as the western boundary of the Indochina continent,moved in the dextral strike-slip on a large scale to trigger partial melting of the thickened crust,and the peraluminous granitic magma from which the Shuangmaidi two-mica orthoclase granite derived was formed.HUANG JingNing CHEN YongQing ZHAI XiaoMing LU YingXiang XIE YongFu CHENG ZhiZhong 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,7:7
3Influence of Magnet Shape on the Cogging Torque of a Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Motor显示文摘The influence of bread-loaf shaped magnet poles under parallel magnetization on the cogging torque of surface-mounted permanent magnet(SPM)motors is studied.For the SPM motors having magnetic poles with eccentricity and sine harmonic compensation,the electromagnetic performances of integer and fractional slot motors are compared.It is found that the cogging torque and torque ripple of the integer and fractional slot motors can be reduced with the same eccentric magnet pole.The cogging torque and torque ripple of a fractional slot motor can be decreased by sine harmonic compensation,however,the same sine harmonic compensation has a small influence in integer slot motors.By varying the magnetic poles,the contribution of the field harmonics(k=(2n+1)p),which are a direct result of magnet magnetization,to the cogging torque also changes.The electromagnetic performance of a 3 kW prototype is tested,and it is found that the experimental results validate the theoretical investigation.Min Zhou Xinxing Zhang Wenxiang Zhao Jinghua Ji Jingning Hu 2019Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2019,5,4:7
4Modeling studies on the changes of the Subtropical High over the Western Pacific during the last 100 years显示文摘Intensity index series of Subtropical High over the Western Pacific was constructed according to modeling results by using of CCM3.6 atmospheric model with cli-matologically SST forcing for 30 years, and with observed SST forcing from 1900 to 2000. The index series constructed by modeling closely correlated to the observations for 1951-1999 (c.c. 0.72) and to the statistically reconstructed one for 1900-1950 (c.c. 0.51). The index series for 1900-1999 showed significant 80 a and 40 a periodicity. A minimum of persistence in seasonal variations of the index occurred in Autumn, which was called 'Autumn Barrier'. It may relate to the 'Spring Barrier', found in the seasonal variations of SST over the Eastern Equatorial Pacific. 5Recent progress in the green synthesis of rare-earth doped upconversion nanophosphors for optical bioimaging from cells to animals显示文摘Rare-earth doped upconversion nanophosphors(UCNPs), which convert low energy near-infrared(NIR) photons into high energy photons such as ultraviolet, visible light and NIR light, have found various applications in optical bioimaging. In this review article, we summarize recent advances in the synthesis and applications of UCNPs achieved by us and other groups in the past few years. The approaches for the synthesis of UCNPs are presented,with an emphasis on the role of green chemistry in the advancement of this field, followed by a focused overview on their latest applications in optical bioimaging from subcellular structures through cells to living animals. 6Telescoping ore targets by geochemical exploration at multiple scales in Eastern Yunnan Pt geochemical province,southwestern China显示文摘Platinum has been one of the highly needed mineral resources in China.The geochemical exploration at two survey scales was applied in telescoping ore targets for the first time in Eastern Yunnan Pt geochemical province that was delineated using Pt data from flood plain sediments with extra-low sampling density.Our study was based on the delineations and assessments of both regional and local Pt anomalies using the Pt data by analyzing with C-OES the composite samples with two sampling densities.The composite samples were obtained by recomposing at two sampling densities the original stream sediment samples collected by the National Geochemical Mapping Project.Semivariograms were used to quantitatively describe the variability of Pt anomalies and further analyze the factors controlling the variability.Pt resource potentials of both the regional Pt anomalies and the local Pt anomalies in the study area were estimated based on the geochemical block methods,respectively.It comes to the conclusions as follows.(1) From the regional to local Pt anomaly,the factors controlling their variability from the deep seated faults-basalts turn into the basalts-branch faults,which suggest that Semivariograms could identify the geological factors controlling the variability of the Pt anomalies identified by the Pt data from the stream sediments with different sampling densities.(2) There exist two types of Pt anomalies in the study area.One is those displaying at sampling densities,and its average Pt concentration significantly increases with sampling density increasing.The other is getting weaker and/or disappears with sampling density increasing.This shows that TOTGEMS could gradu-ally eliminate non-ore anomalies and keep ore anomalies.(3) The average Pt concentration of the local Pt anomaly blocks delineated using Pt data from stream sediments with sampling density of one composite per 16 km2 is twice as much as that of the regional Pt anomaly blocks delineated using Pt data from stream sediments with sampling density of one composite per 64 km2.The Pt resource amount of the local Pt anomaly blocks is 60% of the regional anomaly blocks,but the area of the former is just 35% of the latter,which suggests that the Pt resource amount is mainly concentrated in its local anomalies,and that TOTGEMS has a good exploration function that efficiently approaches ore targets.CHEN YongQing HUANG JingNing ZHAI XiaoMing ZHAO BinBin 2009Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,5:3
7Cost reduction of a hybrid energy storage system considering correlation between wind and PV power显示文摘A hybrid energy storage system(HESS)plays an important role in balancing the cost with the performance in terms of stabilizing the fluctuant power of wind farms and photovoltaic(PV)stations.To further bring down the cost and actually implement the dispatchability of wind/PV plants,there is a need to penetrate into the major factors that contribute to the cost of the any HESS.This paper first discusses hybrid energy storage systems,as well as chemical properties in different medium,deeming the ramp rate as one of the determinants that must be observed in the cost calculation.Then,a mathematical tool,Copula,is explained in details for the purpose of unscrambling the dependences between the power of wind and PV plants.To lower the cost,the basic rule for allocation of buffered power is also put forward,with the minimum energy capacities of the battery ESS(BESS)and the supercapacitor ESS(SC-ESS)simultaneously determined by integration.And the paper introduces the probability method to analyze how power and energy is compensated in certain confidence level.After that,two definitions of coefficients are set up,separately describing energy storage status and wind curtailment level.Finally,the paper gives a numerical example stemmed from real data acquired in wind farms and PV stations in Belgium.The conclusion presents that the cost of a hybrid energy storage system is greatly affected by ramp-rate and dependence between the power of wind farms and photovoltaic stations,in which dependence can easily be determined by Copulas.Lin Feng Jingning Zhang Guojie Li Bangling Zhang 2016Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems2016,1,1:2

9Promoting Si-graphite composite anodes with SWCNT additives for half and NCM 811 full lithium ion batteries and assessment criteria from an industrial perspective显示文摘Single wall carbon nanotube(SWCNT)additives were formulated into(im-Si-graphite composite electrodes and tested in both half cells and full cells with high nickel cathodes.The critical role of small amount of SWCNT addition(0.2 wt%)was found for significantly improving delithiation capacity,first cycle coulombic efficiency(FCE),and capacity retention.Particularly,Si(10 wt%)-graphite electrode exhibits 560 mAh/g delithiation capacity and 92%FCE at 0.2 C during the first chargedischarge cycle,and 91%capacity retention after 50 cycles(0.5 C)in a half cell.Scanning electron microscope(SEM)was used to illustrate the electrode morphology,compositions and promoting function of the SWCNT additives.In addition,full cells assembled with high nickel-NCM811 cathodes and fim-Si-graphite composite anodes were evaluated for the consistence between half and full cell performance,and the consideration for potential commercial application.Finally,criteria to assess Si-containing anodes are proposed and discussed from an industrial perspective.Jingning SHAN Xiaofang YANG Chao YAN Lin CHEN Fang ZHAO Yiguang JU 2019Frontiers in Energy2019,13,4:1

11Gastric vagal afferent inputs reach the glycemia-sensitive neurons of lateral hypothalamic area in the rat显示文摘The glycemia-sensitive neuron in lateral hypothalamic area (LHA) is one of the important central neural events involved in the feeding control. Electrophysio-logical studies have demonstrated that gastrointestinal vagal afferent inputs could convey the meal-related information of gastrointestinal tract to the hypothalamus. In this study, we examined whether the gastric vagal afferent inputs could reach the glycemia-sensitive neurons of the LHA by using in vivo extracellular recording technique in the rat. The results showed that stimulation of gastric vagal nerves elicited two types of the LHA neurons responses: the phasic response (93/116, 80.2%) and the change in cells firing pattern (23/116, 19.8%). Within the 93 cells that responded to the gastric vagal stimulation with a phasic response, 67 (72.0%) showed an inhibition in the cells firing rate, 26 (27.4%) were excited. Of the 23 cells that showed a change in the firing pattern, 13 responded to the gastric vagal stimulation with a long-lasting increase or decrease in firing rate, the remaining 10 cells turned their discrete spiking to the burst discharging. In addition, of 101 LHA neurons including the two types of responsive neurons, 73 (72.3%) were identified to be glyce-mia-sensitive neurons. These results demonstrated that the gastric vagal afferent inputs could reach the LHA and pre-dominantly reach those glycemia-sensitive neurons in the LHA. 13Excitatory effect of histamine on neuronal activity of rat cerebellar fastigial nucleus in vitro显示文摘The cerebellar fastigial nucleus (FN) holds an important role in motor control and body balance. Previous studies have revealed that the nucleus is innervated by direct hypothalamocerebellar histaminergic fibers. However, the functional role of histaminergic projection in cerebellar FN has never been established. In this study, we investigated the effect of histamine on neuronal firing of cerebellar FN by using slice preparations. Sixty-five FN cells were recorded from 47 cerebellar slices, and a vast majority of the cells responded to histamine stimulation with an excitatory response (58/65, 89.2%). Perfusing slices with low-Ca2+/high-Mg2+ medium did not block the histamine-induced excitation (n=10), supporting a direct postsynaptic action of histamine on the cells. Furthermore, the excitatory effect of histamine on FN neurons was not blocked by selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist triprolidine (n=15) or chlorpheniramine (n=10), but was effectively suppressed by ranitidine (n=15), a highly selective histamine H2 receptor antagonist. On the other hand, highly selective histamine H2 receptor agonist dimaprit (n=20) instead of histamine H1 receptor agonist 2-pyridylethylamine (n=16) mimicked the ex- citatory effect of histamine on FN neurons. The dimaprit-induced FN neuronal excitation was effectively antagonized by selective histamine H2 receptor antagonist ranitidine (n=13) but not influenced by se- lective histamine H1 receptor antagonist triprolidine (n=15).
