| 1 | Perineal rectosigmoidectomy for gangrenous rectal prolapse显示文摘Incarceration rarely complicates the chronically progressive form of the full thickness rectal prolapse.Even more rarely,it becomes strangulated,necessitating emergency surgery.We describe an extremely rare case of incarcerated acute rectal prolapse,without a relevant previous history or symptoms of predisposing pathology.The patient underwent emergency perineal proctosigmoidectomy,the Altemeier operation,combined with diverting loop sigmoid colostomy.The postoperative course was quite uneventful with an excellent final result after colostomy closure.The successful treatment of this patient illustrates the value of the Altemeier procedure in the difficult and unusual case scenario of bowel incarceration. | Ioannis Voulimeneas Constantine Antonopoulos Evangelos Alifi erakis Pavlos Ioannides | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，21： | 6 |
| 2 | Complete Oxidation of Methane over Palladium Supported on Alumina Modified with Calcium,Lanthanum,and Cerium Ions显示文摘The activity and thermal stability of Pd/Al_2O_3 and Pd/(Al_2O_3+MO_x)(M=Ca,La,Ce) palladium catalysts in the reaction of complete oxidation of methane are presented in this study.The catalyst supports were prepared by sol-gel method and they were dried either conventionally or with supercritical carbon dioxide.Then they were impregnated with palladium nitrate solution.The catalysts with unmodified alumina had a high surface area.The activity and thermal stability of the alumina- supported catalyst was also very high.The introduction of calcium,lanthanum,or cerium oxide into alumina support caused a decrease of the surface area in the way dependent on the support precursor drying method.These modifiers decreased the activity of palladium catalysts,and they required higher temperatures for the complete oxidation of methane than unmodified Pd/Al_2O_3.The improvement of the palladium activity by lanthanum and cerium support modifier was observed only at low temperatures of the reaction. | Beata Stasinska Wojciech Gac Theophilos Ioannides Andrzej Machocki | 2007 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2007，16，4： | 4 |
| 3 | Role of lipid-lowering agents in the management of diabetic retinopathy显示文摘Diabetic retinopathy affects a substantial proportion of patients with diabetes mellitus(DM) and is the leading cause of blindness in working-aged adults. Even though the incidence of diabetic retinopathy has declined in the last decades, its prevalence increased and is expected to rise further as a result of the increasing incidence of type 2 DM(T2DM) and the longer life expectancy of patients with DM. The pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy is multifactorial. Some observational studies suggested an association between dyslipidemia and the development and progression of retinopathy in patients with DM but others did not confirm this association. Regarding lipid-lowering agents, studies that evaluated the role of statins in the management of these patients are mostly small and yielded discrepant results. Large randomized studies with statins in patients with T2DM showed no benefit of these agents on diabetic retinopathy but were not designed to address this effect. In contrast, both preclinical data and two large randomized controlled studies, the FIELD and the ACCORD trial, showed that fenofibrate delays the progression of diabetic retinopathy.
