1Recent research and progress of biodegradable zinc alloys and composites for biomedical applications: Biomechanical and biocorrosion perspectives显示文摘Biodegradable metals(BMs)gradually degrade in vivo by releasing corrosion products once exposed to the physiological environment in the body.Complete dissolution of biodegradable implants assists tissue healing,with no implant residues in the surrounding tissues.In recent years,three classes of BMs have been extensively investigated,including magnesium(Mg)-based,iron(Fe)-based,and zinc(Zn)-based BMs.Among these three BMs,Mg-based materials have undergone the most clinical trials.However,Mg-based BMs generally exhibit faster degradation rates,which may not match the healing periods for bone tissue,whereas Fe-based BMs exhibit slower and less complete in vivo degradation.Zn-based BMs are now considered a new class of BMs due to their intermediate degradation rates,which fall between those of Mg-based BMs and Fe-based BMs,thus requiring extensive research to validate their suitability for biomedical applications.In the present study,recent research and development on Zn-based BMs are reviewed in conjunction with discussion of their advantages and limitations in relation to existing BMs.The underlying roles of alloy composition,microstructure,and processing technique on the mechanical and corrosion properties of Zn-based BMs are also discussed.Humayun Kabir Khurram Munir Cuie Wen Yuncang Li 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,3:18
2一个矮秆多分蘖水稻突变体的植物激素动态特性分析显示文摘【目的】比较水稻矮秆多分蘖突变体与野生型材料间的植物激素含量差异,并分析不同生长调节剂处理对其株高、分蘖的影响,探析植物激素在突变体形态发育过程中的生理功能。【方法】以T-DNA插入引起的矮秆多分蘖突变体(CA648)及对照中花11(ZH11)为供试材料,采用高效液相色谱法(HPLC)分析三叶期、五叶期、分蘖盛期、拔节孕穗期的根、假茎(或茎)、叶中的赤霉素(GA1,GA4)、生长素(IAA)、玉米素(Z)和脱落酸(ABA)的含量,进行CA648与ZH11在不同生长发育时期的不同器官中的植物激素含量差异比较分析;利用液相色谱-串联质谱联用法(HPLC-MS/MS)测定拔节孕穗期根、基部、茎秆及叶片中的IAA、Z及玉米素核苷(ZR)的含量并进行根、茎、叶等不同器官中IAA与Z+ZR含量间的比值差异分析;在CA648与ZH11的不同生长发育时期喷施不同浓度的GA3、IAA、Z及多效唑处理后统计株高、分蘖的变化特性,并比较分析CA648与ZH11对不同生长调节剂处理的反应敏感性差异。【结果】不同生长发育时期的CA648与ZH11的不同器官中的植物激素存在不同变化趋势。GA1+4含量变化情况为在三叶期和五叶期的叶片中两者相差不大,而根和假茎中的含量则是CA648高于ZH11;从五叶期至拔节期,随着生育期延长,ZH11的假茎和根中GA1+4含量升高而叶片中含量降低,但CA648却表现出相反的变化趋势,假茎和根中的GA1+4含量降低但叶片中含量却升高。IAA含量变化情况为五叶期、分蘖盛期时CA648叶片中的IAA含量低于ZH11,而假茎中的IAA含量却高于ZH11;拔节期时,CA648的根、茎、叶中IAA含量均与ZH11对应器官中的IAA含量相差不大。Z、ZR含量变化情况为三叶期CA648的根与假茎中的Z含量都低于ZH11;在拔节期,分蘖部位的基部和茎中的Z+ZR含量为CA648高于ZH11,而叶片中的Z+ZR含量却是CA648略低于ZH11。ABA含量变化情况为在三叶期、五叶期时CA648的ABA含量高于ZH11,而拔节期却显著低于ZH11。IAA与Z+ZR的比值情况为在顶叶、茎秆中是CA648大于ZH11,而在基部和根中则是CA648中的比值小于ZH11。不同浓度GA3、IAA、Z和多效唑喷施处理表明CA648的株高易受生长调节剂的影响。与喷水对照相比,喷施GA3、IAA、Z均能增加CA648的株高,其敏感性依次为GA3处理>IAA处理>Z处理;喷施多效唑后CA648与ZH11的株高均明显降低;虽然CA648与ZH11的株高均受GA3、多效唑等生长调节剂的影响,但CA648更敏感,当喷施的GA3浓度≥288μmol·L-1时,CA648的株高能够达到或超过ZH11的株高;与株高易受生长调节剂的影响不同,CA648的多分蘖特性几乎不受长调节剂处理的影响,无论是否喷施生长调节剂,CA648的分蘖数均远远多于ZH11。【结论】与对照相比,CA648体内的GA1、GA4、IAA、Z、ZR含量及其IAA与Z+ZR的比值有利于矮秆多分蘖性状的形成,即植物激素含量与比例能够反映CA648的生理特性;生长调节剂对CA648的分蘖与株高具有不同调控效果,喷施GA3、IAA、Z和多效唑能够显著改变株高,但其多分蘖特性不受株高改变的影响。刘清 童建华 史齐 彭克勤 王若仲 蔺万煌 Mohammed Humayun Kabir 沈革志 萧浪涛 2014中国农业科学2014,47,13:8
3The alteration in the architecture of a T-DNA insertion rice mutant osmtd1 is caused by up-regulation of Micro RNA156f显示文摘Plant architecture is an important factor for crop production. Some members of micro RNA156(mi R156) and their target genes SQUAMOSA Promoter-Binding Protein-Like(SPL) were identi fi ed to play essential roles in the establishment of plant architecture. However, the roles and regulation of mi R156 is not well understood yet. Here, we identi fi ed a T-DNA insertion mutant Osmtd1(Oryza sativa multi-tillering and dwarf mutant). Osmtd1 produced more tillers and displayed short stature phenotype. We determined that the dramatic morphological changes were caused by a single T-DNA insertion in Osmtd1. Further analysis revealed that the T-DNA insertion was located in the gene Os08g34258 encoding a putative inhibitor I family protein. Os08g34258 was knocked out and Osmi R156 f was signi fi cantly upregulated in Osmtd1. Overexpression of Os08g34258 in Osmtd1 complemented the defects of the mutant architecture, while overexpression of Osmi R156 f in wild-type rice phenocopied Osmtd1. We showed that the expression of Os SPL3, Os SPL12,and Os SPL14 were signi fi cantly downregulated in Osmtd1 or Osmi R156 f overexpressed lines, indicating that Os SPL3,Os SPL12, and Os SPL14 were possibly direct target genes of Osmi R156 f. 4Plasmon Assisted Highly Efficient Visible Light Catalytic CO_(2) Reduction Over the Noble Metal Decorated Sr-Incorporated g-C_(3)N_(4)显示文摘The photocatalytic performance of g-C_(3)N_(4) for CO_(2) conversion is still inadequate by several shortfalls including the instability,insu cient solar light absorption and rapid charge carrier's recombination rate. To solve these problems,herein,noble metals(Pt and Au)decorated Sr-incorporated g-C_(3)N_(4) photocatalysts are fabricated via the simple calcination and photo-deposition methods. The Sr-incorporation remarkably reduced the g-C_(3)N_(4) band gap from 2.7 to 2.54 eV,as evidenced by the UV–visible absorption spectra and the density functional theory results. The CO_(2) conversion performance of the catalysts was evaluated under visible light irradiation. The Pt/0.15 Sr-CN sample produced 48.55 and 74.54 μmol h-1 g-1 of CH_(4) and CO,respectively.These amounts are far greater than that produced by the Au/0.15 Sr-CN,0.15 Sr-CN,and CN samples. A high quantum e ciency of 2.92% is predicted for the Pt/0.15 Sr-CN sample. Further,the stability of the photocatalyst is confirmed via the photocatalytic recyclable test. 5Pulmonary complications of hepatic diseases显示文摘Severe chronic liver disease(CLD) may result from portal hypertension, hepatocellular failure or the combination of both. Some of these patients may develop pulmonary complications independent from any pulmonary pathology that they may have. Among them the hepatopulmonary syndrome(HPS), portopulmonary hypertension(PPH) and hepatic hydrothorax(HH) are described in detail in this literature review. HPS is encountered in approximately 15% to 30% of the patients and its presence is associated with increase in mortality and also requires liver transplantation in many cases. PPH has been reported among 4%-8% of the patient with CLD who have undergone liver transplantation. The HH is another entity, which has the prevalence rate of 5% to 6% and is associated in the absence of cardiopulmonary disease. These clinical syndromes occur in similar pathophysiologic environments. Most treatment modalities work as temporizing measures. The ultimate treatment of choice is liver transplant. This clinical review provides basic concepts; pathophysiology and clinical presentation that will allow the clinician to better understand these potentially life-threatening complications. 6Exceptional co-catalyst free photocatalytic activities of B and Fe co-doped SrTiO3 for CO2 conversion and H2 evolution显示文摘CO2 should be converted into chemical-fuels,and to reduce H2O to H2 over SrTiO3 (STO) owing to its negative conduction band position vs.NHE.Herein a novel B and Fe co-doped SrTiO3 (B,F-STO) photocatalyst was successfully fabricated via a single-step sol-hydrothermal process.Various experiments confirmed that B and Fe are effectively doped into the STO matrix.Boron substituted oxygen anions,while Fe substituted Ti cations.UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectra (UV-vis DRS) and valence-band X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) spectra confirmed that the band gap of STO significantly reduced from 3.4 to 1.9 eV upon co-doping with B and Fe.Hence,the B,F-STO photocatalyst exhibits more absorption (λ ≤ 650 nm) compared to pure STO (λ ≤ 360 nm).Further,from photoluminescence spectra,fluorescence spectra,and photoelectrochemical measurements,charge separation in STO is considerably enhanced by co-doping B and Fe.This resulted in the improved UV-vis light catalytic activities for CO2 conversion to CH4 and CO and H2O splitting to evolve H2.The amounts of CH4 and CO produced over B,F-STO are ~ 17.2 and 21 μmol,respectively,about 5-fold enhanced compared to that of STO (~ 3.4 μmol CH4 and 5.2 μmol CO),and the calculated quantum efficiency at λ =420 run is ~ 2.16%.Similarly,the amount of H2 produced over B,F-STO is ~ 61 μmol,about 6.7-fold enhanced compared to that over STO (9 μmol),and the calculated quantum efficiency at λ =420 nm is ~ 2.12%.This work provides feasible routes to fabricate highly efficient SrTiO3-based nanophotocatalysts for solar-fuel production.Muhammad Humayun Lei Xu Ling Zhou Zhiping Zheng Qiuyun Fu Wei Luo 2018Nano Research2018,11,12:3
7Cardio- and hepato-protective potential of methanolic extract of Syzygium cumini(L.) Skeels seeds:A diabetic rat model study显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the effect of methanolic extract of Syzygium cumini(L.) Skeels(S. cumini) seeds on the major organs in an animal model of diabetes through biochemical and histopathological studies.Methods: The methanolic extracts of S. cumini seeds(100 and 200 mg/kg body weight) were administered to alloxan-induced diabetic rats daily, with fasting blood glucose levels being measured by glucometry at one-day interval for a duration of two weeks. Biochemical assays to evaluate changes in the functions of the heart, liver,pancreas and kidney were carried out. Histopathological changes in the diabetic rat organs(pancreas, liver, heart, kidney and spleen) were also observed after the 14 days of treatment with the extracts.Results: Oral administration of methanolic extracts of S. cumini seeds(100 and 200 mg/kg body weight), with gliclazide as a positive control(25 mg/kg), showed beneficial effects including lowering blood glucose levels(P < 0.001), improved heart and liver functions, and hyperlipidemia due to diabetes. 8Intrusion Detection Systems in Internet of Things and Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks显示文摘Internet of Things(IoT)devices work mainly in wireless mediums;requiring different Intrusion Detection System(IDS)kind of solutions to leverage 802.11 header information for intrusion detection.Wireless-specific traffic features with high information gain are primarily found in data link layers rather than application layers in wired networks.This survey investigates some of the complexities and challenges in deploying wireless IDS in terms of data collection methods,IDS techniques,IDS placement strategies,and traffic data analysis techniques.This paper’s main finding highlights the lack of available network traces for training modern machine-learning models against IoT specific intrusions.Specifically,the Knowledge Discovery in Databases(KDD)Cup dataset is reviewed to highlight the design challenges of wireless intrusion detection based on current data attributes and proposed several guidelines to future-proof following traffic capture methods in the wireless network(WN).The paper starts with a review of various intrusion detection techniques,data collection methods and placement methods.The main goal of this paper is to study the design challenges of deploying intrusion detection system in a wireless environment.Intrusion detection system deployment in a wireless environment is not as straightforward as in the wired network environment due to the architectural complexities.So this paper reviews the traditional wired intrusion detection deployment methods and discusses how these techniques could be adopted into the wireless environment and also highlights the design challenges in the wireless environment.The main wireless environments to look into would be Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN),Mobile Ad Hoc Networks(MANET)and IoT as this are the future trends and a lot of attacks have been targeted into these networks.So it is very crucial to design an IDS specifically to target on the wireless networks.Vasaki Ponnusamy Mamoona Humayun NZJhanjhi Aun Yichiet Maram Fahhad Almufareh 2022Computer Systems Science & Engineering2022,40,3:2

11Fungal infections following liver transplantation显示文摘With increasing morbidity and mortality from chronic liver disease and acute liver failure,the need for liver transplantation is on the rise.Most of these patients are extremely vulnerable to infections as they are immune-compromised and have other chronic co-morbid conditions.Despite the recent advances in practice and improvement in diagnostic surveillance and treatment modalities,a major portion of these patients continue to be affected by post-transplant infections.Of these,fungal infections are particularly notorious given their vague and insidious onset and are very challenging to diagnose.This mini-review aims to discuss the incidence of fungal infections following liver transplantation,the different fungi involved,the risk factors,which predispose these patients to such infections,associated diagnostic challenges,and the role of prophylaxis.The population at risk is increasingly old and frail,suffering from various other co-morbid conditions,and needs special attention.To improve care and to decrease the burden of such infections,we need to identify the at-risk population with more robust clinical and diagnostic parameters.A more robust global consensus and stringent guidelines are needed to fight against resistant microbes and maintain the longevity of current antimicrobial therapies.Madiha Khalid Ritesh Neupane Humayun Anjum Salim Surani 2021World Journal of Hepatology2021,13,11:2
