Application of pressure relief and permeability increased by slotting a coal seam with a rotary type cutter working across rock layers显示文摘Pressure relief to increase permeability significantly improves gas extraction efficiency from coal seams. In this paper we report results from simulations using FLAC 3D code to analyze changes in coal displacement and stress after special drill slots were formed. We investigated the mechanism of pressure relief and permeability increase in a high-gas and low-permeability coal seam through the modeling of gas flow. This allows the development of the technology.Slotting across rock layers in the coal seam with a rotary type cutter was then applied in the field. The results show that pressure relief and permeability increases from slotting the coal seam can increase the transport and the fracture of the coal. This expands the range of pressure relief from the drilling and increases the exposed area of the seam. The total quantity of gas extracted from slotted bore holes was three times that seen with ordinary drilling. The concentration of gas extracted from the slotted drills was from two to three times that seen using ordinary drills. The gas flow was stable at 80%.Improved permeability and more efficient gas extraction are the result of the slotting. The roadway development rate is increased by 30-50% after gas drainage. This technology diminishes the lag between longwall production and roadway development and effectively prevents coal and gas outburst, which offers the prospect of broad application. | Shen Chunming Lin Baiquan Meng Fanwei Zhang Qizhi Zhai Cheng | 2012 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,4: | 10
A bHLH transcription activator regulates defense signaling by nucleo-cytosolic trafficking in rice显示文摘Crosstalk between plant hormone signaling pathways is vital for controlling the immune response during pathogen invasion.Salicylic acid(SA)and jas-monic acid(JA)often play important but antagonistic roles in the immune responses of higher plants. Here,we identify a basic helix-loop-helix transcription acti-vator,OsbHLH6,which confers disease resistance in rice by regulating SA and JA signaling via nucleo-cytosolic trafficking in rice(Oryza sativa).OsbHLH6 expression was upregulated during Magnaporthe oryzae infection.Transgenic rice plants overexpressing OsbHLH6 display increased JA responsive gene expression and enhanced disease susceptibility to the pathogen.Nucleus-localized OsbHLH6 activates JA signaling and suppresses SA signaling;however, the SA regulator OsNPR1(Nonexpressor of PR genes 1)sequesters OsbHLH6 in the cytosol to alleviate its effect. Our data suggest that OsbHLH6 controls disease re-sistance by dynamically regulating SA and JA signaling. | Fanwei Meng Chao Yang Jidong Cao Huan Chen Jinhuan Pang Qiqi Zhao Zongyi Wang Zheng Qing Fu Jun Liu | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,10: | 10

Optimal Design and Force Control of a Nine-Cable-Driven Parallel Mechanism for Lunar Takeoff Simulation显示文摘Traditional simulation methods are unable to meet the requirements of lunar takeo simulations, such as high force output precision, low cost, and repeated use. Considering that cable-driven parallel mechanisms have the advantages of high payload to weight ratio, potentially large workspace, and high-speed motion, these mechanisms have the potential to be used for lunar takeo simulations. Thus, this paper presents a parallel mechanism driven by nine cables. The purpose of this study is to optimize the dimensions of the cable-driven parallel mechanism to meet dynamic workspace requirements under cable tension constraints. The dynamic workspace requirements are derived from the kinematical function requests of the lunar takeo simulation equipment. Experimental design and response surface methods are adopted for building the surrogate mathematical model linking the optimal variables and the optimization indices. A set of dimensional parameters are determined by analyzing the surrogate mathematical model. The volume of the dynamic workspace increased by 46% after optimization. Besides, a force control method is proposed for calculating output vector and sinusoidal forces. A force control loop is introduced into the traditional position control loop to adjust the cable force precisely, while controlling the cable length. The e ectiveness of the proposed control method is verified through experiments. A 5% vector output accuracy and 12 Hz undulation force output can be realized. This paper proposes a cable-driven parallel mechanism which can be used for lunar takeo simulation. | Wangmin Yi Yu Zheng Weifang Wang XiaoqiangTang Xinjun Liu Fanwei Meng | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2019,32,4: | 5
Dynamic blood single-cell immune responses in patients with COVID-19显示文摘The 2019 coronavirus disease(COVID-19)outbreak caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is an ongoing global health emergency. However, the virus'pathogenesis remains unclear, and there is no cure for the disease. We investigated the dynamic changes of blood immune response in patients with COVID-19 at different stages by using 5'gene expression,T cell receptor(TCR),and B cell receptors(BCR)V(D)J transcriptome analysis at a single-cell resolution. We obtained single-cell mRNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)data of 341,420 peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)and 185,430 donotypic T cells and 28,802 donotypic B cells from 25 samples of 16 patients with COVID-19 for dynamic studies. In addition,we used three control samples. We found expansion of dendritic cells(DCs),CD14+monocytes,and megakaryocytes progenitor cells(MP)/platelets and a reduction of naive CD4+T lymphocytes in patients with COVID-19,along with a significant decrease of CD8+T lymphocytes, and natural killer cells(NKs)in patients in critical condition. The type I interferon(IFN-I),mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),and ferroptosis pathways were activated while the disease was active, and recovered gradually after patient conditions improved.Consistent with this finding, the mRNA level of IFN-I signal-induced gene IFI27 was significantly increased in patients with COVID-19 compared with that of the controls in a validation cohort that included 38 patients and 35 controls. The concentration of interferon-a(IFN-a)in the serum of patients with COVID-19 increased significantly compared with that of the controls in an additional cohort of 215 patients with COVID-19 and 106 controls, further suggesting the important role of the IFN-I pathway in the immune response of COVID-19.TCR and BCR sequences analyses indicated that patients with COVID-19 developed specific immune responses against SARS-CoV-2 antigens. Our study reveals a dynamic landscape of human blood immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection, providing clues for therapeutic potentials in treating COVID-19. | Lulin Huang Yi Shi Bo Gong Li Jiang Zhixin Zhang Xiaoqi Liu Jialiang Yang Yongquan He Zhilin Jiang Ling Zhong Juan Tang Chunfang You Qi Jiang Bo Long Tao Zeng Mei Luo Fanwei Zeng Fanxin Zeng Shuqiang Wang Xingxiang Yang Zhenglin Yang | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,4: | 4

Adaptive PI Control Strategy for Flat Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor Vibration Suppression显示文摘Due to low damping ratio, flat permanent magnet linear synchronous motor's vibration is difficult to be damped and the accuracy is limited. The vibration suppressing results are not good enough in the existing research because only the longitudinal direction vibration is considered while the normal direction vibration is neglected. The parameters of the direct-axis current controller are set to be the same as those of the quadrature-axis current controller commonly. This causes contradiction between signal noise and response. To suppress the vibration, the electromagnetic force model of the flat permanent magnet synchronous linear motor is formulated first.Through the analysis of the effect that direct-axis current noise and quadrature-axis current noise have on both direction vibration,it can be declared that the conclusion that longitudinal direction vibration is only related to the quadrature-axis current noise while the normal direction vibration is related to both the quadrature-axis current noise and direct-axis current noise. Then, the simulation test on current loop with a low-pass filter is conducted and the results show that the low-pass filter can not suppress the vibration but makes the vibration more severe. So a vibration suppressing strategy that the proportional gain of direct-axis current controller adapted according to quadrature-axis reference current is proposed. This control strategy can suppress motor vibration by suppressing direct-axis current noise. The experiments results about the effect of K p and T i on normal direction vibration, longitudinal vibration and the position step response show that this strategy suppresses vibration effectively while the motor's motion performance is not affected. The maximum reduction of vibration can be up to 40%.In addition, current test under rated load condition is also conducted and the results show that the control strategy can avoid the conflict between the direct-axis current and the quadrature-axis current under typical load.Adaptive PI control strategy can effectively suppress the flat permanent magnet linear synchronous motor's vibration without affecting the motor's performance. | MENG Fanwei LIU Chengying LI Zhijun WANG Liping | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,1: | 4
Indicators and impact analysis of sediment from the Changjiang Estuary and East China Sea to the Hangzhou Bay显示文摘Based on the historical evolution of the Hangzhou Bay, by making use of the conclusions made by the previous research workers and the integration of concrete data, five distinct impact indicators of the sediment from the Changjiang Estuary and the East China Sea to the Hangzhou Bay are summarized. Numerical calculation and analysis indicate that the scouring and deposition of seabed in the Hangzhou Bay are subject to the direct impact of the evolution of the Changjiang Estuary, and the growth and decline and the direction of the sandy bar at Nanhuizui give traces to the sediment transport between the Changjiang Estuary and the Hangzhou Bay. The transport of sediment from the Changjiang Estuary to the Hangzhou Bay occurs mainly in winter and spring seasons and the increase of the Changjiang River runoff and the decrease of sediment charge have caused scouring in the northern coast of the Hangzhou Bay and the seabed erosion along the frontal margin of the Changjiang River Delta. | WANGHong FANWei YUNCaixing | 2004 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2004,23,2: | 2
State and tendency: an empirical study of deep learning question&answer topics on Stack Overflow显示文摘Deep learning has developed rapidly in recent years, attracting the attention of numerous researchers. Since a wide range of topics are covered in this field, we are wondering what topics researchers have concerned about. However, after investigation, we find that very few researchers have paid attention to this demand. In this paper, we conduct a large-scale study to analyze the questions faced by deep learning developers. We use Stack Overflow, one of the largest question&answer sites, as our data source, and extract32969 posts about deep learning as our studied dataset. After filtering, augmenting and pre-processing the post datasets from Stack Overflow, we use the latent Dirichlet allocation(LDA) topic model to summarize30 topics based on their text content. In addition, we measure the difficulty and popularity of each topic, compare the different issues faced by different deep learning frameworks, and analyze the development trend of each topic. Our main results are as follows:(1) developers ask a broad spectrum of questions about deep-learning, ranging from Data Shape to Object Detection;(2) Gradient Propagation is the most popular among all the topics and(3) Object Detection is the most difficult;(4) issues of Package Installation, Code Understanding and Method Introduction are common in the current different deep learning frameworks;(5) there are three trends in these topics, e.g., a significant rising trend is found in the number of discussion on Data Shape. Finally, based on our research findings, we make some targeted and valuable suggestions for developers, researchers, educators, and framework providers of deep learning. | Henghui ZHAO Yanhui LI Fanwei LIU Xiaoyuan XIE Lin CHEN | 2021 | Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,11: | 2

Brain of the blind:transcriptomics of the golden-line cavefish brain显示文摘The genus Sinocyclocheilus (golden-line barbel) includes 25species of cave-dwelling blind fish (cavefish)and more than 30 surface-dwelling species with normal vision.Cave environments are dark and generally nutrient-poor with few predators.Cavefish of several genera evolved convergent morphological adaptations in visual, pigmentation, brain, olfactory, and digestive systems. We compared brain morphology and gene expression patterns in a cavefish Sinocyclocheilus anophthalmus with those of a closely related surface-dwelling species S.angustiporus.Results showed that cavefish have a longer olfactory tract and a much smaller optic tectum than surface fish.Transcriptomics by RNA-seq revealed that many genes upregulated in cavefish are related to lysosomes and the degradation and metabolism of proteins, amino acids, and lipids.Genes down- regulated in cavefish tended to involve 'activation of gene expression in cholesterol biosynthesis' and cholesterol degradation in the brain.Genes encoding Srebfs (sterol regulatory element- binding transcription factors)and Srebf targets, including enzymes in cholesterol synthesis, were downregulated in cavefish brains compared with surface fish brains. The gene encoding Cyp46a1, which eliminates cholesterol from the brain, was also downregulated in cavefish brains, while the total level of cholesterol in the brain remained unchanged.Cavefish brains misexpressed several genes encoding proteins in the hypothalamus-pituitary axis, including Trh,Sst,Crh,Pomc, and Mc4r.These results suggest that the rate of lipid biosynthesis and breakdown may both be depressed in golden-line cavefish brains but that the lysosome recycling rate may be increased in cavefish;properties that might be related to differences in nutrient availability in caves. | Fanwei MENG Yahui ZHAO Tom TITUS Chunguang ZHANG John H.POSTLETHWAIT | 2018 | Current Zoology2018,64,6: | 2
