1Super-hydrophobic characteristics of butterfly wing surface显示文摘Many biological surface are hydrophobic because of their complicated composition and surface microstructure. Eleven species (four families) of butterflies were selected to study their micro-, nano-structure and super-hydrophobic characteristic by means of Confocal Light Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Contact Angle Measurement. The contact an- gles of water droplets on the butterfly wing surface were consistently measured to be about 150 ? and 100 ? with and without the squamas, respectively. The dust on the surface can be easily cleaned by moving spherical droplets when the inclining angle is larger than 3 ?. It can be concluded that the butterfly wing surface possess a super-hydrophobic, water-repellent, self-cleaning, or “Lotus-effect”characteristic. The contact angle measurement of water droplets on the wing surface with and without the squamas showed that the water-repellent characteristic is a consequence of the microstructure of the squamas. Each water droplet (diameter 2 mm) can cover about 700 squamas with a size of 40 m×80 m of each squama. The regular riblets with a width of 1000 nm to 1500 nm are clearly observed on each single squama. 2Exopolysaccharides from Marine Bacteria显示文摘Microbial polysaccharides represent a class of important products of growing interest for many sectors of indus- try. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in isolating new exopolysaccharides (EPSs)-producing bacteria from marine environments, particularly from various extreme marine environments. 3Lignin derived hierarchical porous carbon with extremely suppressed polyselenide shuttling for high-capacity and long-cycle-life lithium-selenium batteries显示文摘Lithium-selenium(Li-Se)batteries have attracted considerable attentions for next-generation energy storage systems owing to high volumetric capacity of 3265 m Ah cm^(-3) and excellent electronic conductivity(~10^(-5)S cm^(-1))of selenium.However,the shuttling effect and capacity fading prevent their wide applications.Herein we report a low-cost strategy for scalable fabrication of lignin derived hierarchical porous carbon(LHPC)as a new high-loading Se host for high-capacity and long-term cycling Li-Se batteries in carbonate electrolyte.The resulting LHPC exhibits three-dimensional(3D)hierarchically porous structure,high specific surface area of 1696 m^(2) g^(-1),and hetero-atom doping(O,S),which can effectively confine the Se particles into the micropores,and meanwhile,offer effective chemical binding sites for selenides from hetero-atoms(O,S).As a result,our Li-Se batteries based on Se@LHPC demonstrate high capacity of 450 m Ah g^(-1) at 0.5 C after 500 cycles,with a low capacity fading rate of only 0.027%.The theoretical simulation confirmed the strong affinity of selenides on the O and S sites of LHPC effectively mitigating the Se losing.Therefore,our strategy of using lignin as the low-cost precursor of hierarchically porous carbon for high-loading Se host offers new opportunities for high-capacity and long-life Li-Se batteries.Pengfei Lu Fangyan Liu Feng Zhou Jieqiong Qin Haodong Shi Zhong-Shuai Wu 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,4:5
4Preparation of 5-fluorouracil-loaded chitosan nanoparticles and study of the sustained release in vitro and in vivo显示文摘The sustained-release properties of the biodegradable nano-drug delivery systems were used to improve the residence time of the chemotherapeutic agent in the body. These drug delivery systems were widely used to deliver chemotherapeutic drugs. The 5-fluorouracil loaded chitosan nanoparticles prepared in this paper have the above advantage. Here, we found that when the mass ratio of 5-fluorouracil and chitosan was 1:1, the maximum drug loading of nanoparticles was 20.13 ± 0.007%, the encapsulation efficiency was 44.28 ± 1.69%, the particle size was 283.9 ± 5.25 nm and the zeta potential was 45.3 ± 3.23 mV. The prepared nanoparticles had both burst-release and sustained-release phases in vitro release studies.In addition, the inhibitory effect of the prepared nanoparticles on gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells was similar to that of 5-fluorouracil injection, and the blank vector had no obvious inhibitory effect on SGC-7901 cells. 5Transcriptome analysis of three cotton pests reveals features of gene expressions in the mesophyll feeder Apolygus lucorum显示文摘The green mirid bug Apolygus lucorum is an agricultural pest that is known to cause damage to more than 150 plant species.Here,we report the transcriptomes of A.lucorum at three different developmental stages(the second and fifth instar nymphs and adults).A total of 98,236 unigenes with an average length of l,335 nt was obtained,of which 50,640 were annotated,including those encoding digestive enzymes and cytochrome P450 s.Comparisons with cotton bollworm and cotton aphid transcriptomes revealed distinct features of A.lucorum as a mesophyll feeder.The gene expression dynamics varied during development from young nymphs to adults.The high-quality transcriptome data and the gene expression dynamics reported here provide valuable data for a more comprehensive understanding of the physiology and development of mirid bugs,and for mining targets for their control.Dianyang Chen Fangyan Chen Chunyu Chen Xiaoya Chen Yingbo Mao 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,8:4
6Recent advances in carbon nanostructures prepared from carbon dioxide for high-performance supercapacitors显示文摘The burgeoning global economy during the past decades gives rise to the continuous increase in fossil fuels consumption and rapid growth of CO_(2) emission,which demands an urgent exploration into green and sustainable devices for energy storage and power management.Supercapacitors based on activated carbon electrodes are promising systems for highly efficient energy harvesting and power supply,but their promotion is hindered by the moderate energy density compared with batteries.Therefore,scalable conversion of CO_(2) into novel carbon nanostructures offers a powerful alternative to tackle both issues:mitigating the greenhouse effect caused by redundant atmospheric CO_(2) and providing carbon materials with enhanced electrochemical performances.In this tutorial review,the techniques,opportunities and barriers in the design and fabrication of advanced carbon materials using CO_(2) as feedstock as well as their impact on the energy-storage performances of supercapacitors are critically examined.In particular,the chemical aspects of various Cv2 conversion reactions are highlighted to establish a detailed understanding for the science and technology involved in the microstructural evolution,surface engineering and porosity control of CO_(2)-converted carbon nanostructures.Finally,the prospects and challenges associated with the industrialization of CO_(2) conversion and their practical application in supercapacitors are also discussed.Chen Li Xiong Zhang Kai Wang Fangyuan Su Cheng-Meng Chen Fangyan Liu Zhong-Shuai Wu Yanwei Ma 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3:4

8A safe,low-cost and high-efficiency presodiation strategy for pouch-type sodium-ion capacitors with high energy density显示文摘Sodium-ion capacitors(SICs)have attracted appreciable attention in virtue of the higher energy and power densities compared with their rivals,supercapacitors and sodium-ion batteries.Due to the lack of sodium resources in cathode,presodiation is critical for SICs to further augment performances.However,current presodiation strategy utilizes metallic sodium as the presodiation material.In this strategy,assembling/disassembling of half-cells is required,which is dangerous and in creases the time and cost of SIC leading to the restriction of their industrialization and commercialization.Herein we present a safe,low-cost and high-efficiency presodiation strategy by first employing Na_(2)C_(2)O_(4) as the sacrificial salt applied in SICs.Na_(2)C_(2)O_(4) is environmentally friendly and possesses considerably low expenditure.No additional residues remain after sodium extraction ascribed to its'zero dead mass'property.When paired with commercial activated carb on as the cathode and commercial hard carbon as the ano de,the constructed pouch-type SICs exhibit high energy and power densities of 91.7 Wh/kg and 13.1 kW/kg,respectively.This work shows a prospect of realizing the safe and low-cost manufacturing for high-performance SICs commercially.Congkai Sun Xiong Zhang Chen Li Kai Wang Xianzhong Sun Fangyan Liu Zhong-Shuai Wu Yanwei Ma 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,1:3
9Two Dimension C_3N_4/MoS_2 Nanocomposites with Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution under Visible Light Irradiation显示文摘MoS_2-decorated C_3N_4(C_3N_4/MoS_2) nanosheets hybrid photocatalysts were prepared by a simple sonication-impregnation method. Face-to-face lamellar heterojunctions were well established between two dimension(2D) C_3N_4 and MoS_2 nanosheets. The effects of MoS_2 content on the light absorption, charge transfer and photocatalytic activity of the hybrid samples were investigated. Characterization results show that MoS_2 nanosheets are well anchored on the face of C_3N_4 nanosheets and the composites have well dispersed layered morphology. After loading with MoS_2, the light absorption of composites was much improved, especially in visible-light region. The photocatalytic activities of C_3N_4/MoS_2 samples were evaluated based on the H_2 evolution under visible light irradiation(λ > 400 nm). When the loading amount of MoS_2 was increased to 5 wt%, the highest H_2 evolution rate(274 μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1)) was obtained. Compared with samples obtained from direct impregnation method, sonication pretreatment is favorable for the formation of 2D layered heterojuctions and thus improve the photocatalytic activity. Slightly deactivation of C_3N_4/MoS_2 composites could be observed when recycled due to the mild photocorrosion of MoS_2. 11Evolution and modeling of mine water inflow and hazard characteristics in southern coalfields of China:A case of Meitanba mine显示文摘In this paper,the hydrogeological characteristics in the southern coalfields of China are first briefly outlined.Then,taking the Meitanba mine as an example,the evolution and modeling of mine water inflow are studied.Finally,the hazard characteristics related to mine water and mud inrush are analyzed.The results show that the main mine water sources in the Meitanba mine area are groundwater,surface water and precipitation.The evolution of mine water inflow with time indicates that the water inflow is closely related to the development of karst structures,the amount of water from rainfall infiltration,and the scope of groundwater depression cone.The mine water inflow increases with time due to the increase in mining depth and the expansion of groundwater depression cone.Using the big well method and following the potential superposition principle,a hydrogeological model considering multi-well interactions has been developed to predict the mine water inflow.Based on the monitored data in the Meitanba mine area over a period of nearly 60 years,it is found that with increasing mining depth,the number of water and mud inrush points tended to decrease.However,the average water and mud flow rate per point tended to increase.Jinhai Liu Yanlin Zhao Tao Tan Lianyang Zhang Sitao Zhu Fangyan Xu 2022International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,3:2

13Simple hybrid dithiafulvenes-triphenylamine systems as dopant-free hole-transporting materials for efficient perovskite solar cells显示文摘Two extended hybrid conjugated systems based on a triphenylamine(TPA) core with two and three peripheral 1,4-dithiafulvenes(DTF) units coded WH-2 and WH-3 as hole-transporting materials(HTMs) applied in perovskite solar cells(PSCs) are synthesized by facile one-step reaction in good yield over 75%. DTF unit as electron donor can enhance the electron donating ability and the fusion of benzenic ring of TPA with DTF unit may lead to reinforced intermolecular interactions in the solid state. In addition,WH-2 and WH-3 exhibit a pyramid shape containing partial planarity and quasi three-dimensionality features, which is also conducive to enhancing the π-π stacking of molecules in the solid state. The above-mentioned structural characteristics make the two HTMs have good hole mobilities. As a result,WH-2 and WH-3 obtained the high intrinsic hole mobilities of 4.69 × 10^(-4)and 2.18 × 10^(-3)cm^(2)V^(-1)s^(-1)respectively. 14Integrating cross-sensor high spatial resolution satellite images to detect subtle forest vegetation change in the Purple Mountains,a national scenic spot in Nanjing,China显示文摘Accurate information on the location and magnitude of vegetation change in scenic areas can guide the configuration of tourism facilities and the formulation of vegetation protection measures.High spatial resolution remote sensing images can be used to detect subtle vegetation changes.The major objective of this study was to map and quantify forest vegetation changes in a national scenic location,the Purple Mountains of Nanjing,China,using multi-temporal cross-sensor high spatial resolution satellite images to identify the main drivers of the vegetation changes and provide a reference for sustainable management.We used Quickbird images acquired in 2004,IKONOS images acquired in 2009,and WorldView2 images acquired in 2015.Four pixel-based direct change detection methods including the normalized difference vegetation index difference method,multi-index integrated change analysis(MIICA),principal component analysis,and spectral gradient difference analysis were compared in terms of their change detection performances.Subsequently,the best pixel-based detection method in conjunction with object-oriented image analysis was used to extract subtle forest vegetation changes.An accuracy assessment using the stratified random sampling points was conducted to evaluate the performance of the change detection results.The results showed that the MIICA method was the best pixel-based change detection method.And the object-oriented MIICA with an overall accuracy of 0.907 and a kappa coefficient of 0.846 was superior to the pixel-based MIICA.From 2004 to 2009,areas of vegetation gain mainly occurred around the periphery of the study area,while areas of vegetation loss were observed in the interior and along the boundary of the study area due to construction activities,which contributed to 79%of the total area of vegetation loss.During 2009–2015,the greening initiatives around the construction areas increased the forest vegetation coverage,accounting for 84%of the total area of vegetation gain.In spite of this,vegetation loss occurred in the interior of the Purple Mountains due to infrastructure development that caused conversion from vegetation to impervious areas.We recommend that:(1)a local multi-agency team inspect and assess law enforcement regarding natural resource utilization;and(2)strengthen environmental awareness education.Fangyan Zhu Wenjuan Shen Jiaojiao Diao Mingshi Li Guang Zheng 2020Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,5:1

16Fish Density Estimation with Multi-Scale Context Enhanced Convolutional Neural Network显示文摘With the development of fishery industry,accurate estimation of the number of fish in aquaculture waters is of great importance to fish behavior analysis,bait feeding and fishery resource investigation.In this paper,we propose a method for fish density estimation based on the multi-scale context enhanced convolutional network,which could map a fish school image taken at any angle to a density map,and calculate the number of fish in the image finally.In order to eliminate the influence of camera perspective effect and image resolution on density estimation,multi-scale filters are utilized in a convolutional neural network to process fish image in parallel.And then,the context enhancement module is merged in the network structure to help the network understand the global context information of the image.Finally,different feature maps are merged together to construct the density map of fish school images,and finally get the number of fish in the image.In order to make the effectiveness of our method valid,we test the proposed method on DlouDataset.The results show that the proposed method has lower mean square error and mean absolute error,which is helpful to improve the accuracy of the fish counting in dense fish school images.Yizhi Zhou Hong Yu Junfeng Wu Zhen Cui Hongshuai Pang Fangyan Zhang 2019Journal of Communications and Information Networks2019,4,3:1

18An improved automatic detection method for earthquake-collapsed buildings from ADS40 image显示文摘Earthquake-collapsed building identification is important in earthquake damage assessment and is evidence for mapping seismic intensity. After the May 12th Wenchuan major earthquake occurred, experts from CEODE and IPSC collaborated to make a rapid earthquake damage assessment. A crucial task was to identify collapsed buildings from ADS40 images in the earthquake region. The difficulty was to differentiate collapsed buildings from concrete bridges, dry gravels, and landslide-induced rolling stones since they had a similar gray level range in the image. Based on the IPSC method, an improved automatic identification technique was developed and tested in the study area, a portion of Beichuan County. Final results showed that the technique’s accuracy was over 95%. Procedures and results of this experiment are presented in this article.
