| 1 | Sympathetic nervous system activation and heart failure:Current state of evidence and the pathophysiology in the light of novel biomarkers显示文摘Heart failure(HF)is a complex clinical syndrome characterized by the activation of at least several neurohumoral pathways that have a common role in maintaining cardiac output and adequate perfusion pressure of target organs and tissues.The sympathetic nervous system(SNS)is upregulated in HF as evident in dysfunctional baroreceptor and chemoreceptor reflexes,circulating and neuronal catecholamine spillover,attenuated parasympathetic response,and augmented sympathetic outflow to the heart,kidneys and skeletal muscles.When these sympathoexcitatory effects on the cardiovascular system are sustained chronically they initiate the vicious circle of HF progression and become associated with cardiomyocyte apoptosis,maladaptive ventricular and vascular remodeling,arrhythmogenesis,and poor prognosis in patients with HF.These detrimental effects of SNS activity on outcomes in HF warrant adequate diagnostic and treatment modalities.Therefore,this review summarizes basic physiological concepts about the interaction of SNS with the cardiovascular system and highlights key pathophysiological mechanisms of SNS derangement in HF.Finally,special emphasis in this review is placed on the integrative and up-to-date overview of diagnostic modalities such as SNS imaging methods and novel laboratory biomarkers that could aid in the assessment of the degree of SNS activation and provide reliable prognostic information among patients with HF. | Josip Anđelo Borovac Domenico D'Amario Josko Bozic Duska Glavas | 2020 | World Journal of Cardiology2020，12，8： | 14 |

| 3 | The first pterosaur 3-D egg:Implications for Pterodaustro guinazui nesting strategies,an Albian filter feeder pterosaur from central Argentina显示文摘The increasing number of fossil pterosaur eggs sheds light on nesting environments and breeding behaviors of these extinct flying reptiles.Here we report the first partial three-dimensional egg of the pterosaur,Pterodaustro guinazui,from central Argentina.The specimen was discovered from the same Albian deposits as the exceptional P.guinazui embryo described in 2004.Microscopic characterizations indicate a pristine preservation of the 50 mm thick calcium carbonate,which differs significantly from the soft shell of Chinese pterosaur eggs.Estimate of the eggshell conductance implies that the nest had a minimum moisture content of 75%.This moisture estimate,combined with geological and taphonomical data,suggests that P.guinazui may have adopted a nesting strategy similar to those of grebes and flamingos rather than being buried on land,as previously hypothesized.Moreover,our results demonstrate that the nesting paleoenvironment of this pterosaur species was closely linked to a mesohaline lacustrine ecosystem in a basin governed by regional tectonic subsidence,a setting characteristic for the feeding and reproduction of modern flamingos. | Gerald Grellet-Tinner Michael B.Thompson Lucas E.Fiorelli Eloísa Argaaraz Laura Codorniú E.Martín Hechenleitner | 2014 | Geoscience Frontiers2014，5，6： | 2 |
| 4 | Double balloon enteroscopy examinations in general anesthesia显示文摘AIM:To demonstrate that the double balloon enteroscopy(DBE) can be safely performed in general anesthesia with intubation.METHODS:We performed a retrospective examination between August 2005 and November 2008 amongpatients receiving intubation narcosis due to DBE examination.The patients were grouped based on sex,age and physical status.Anesthesia records includedduration of anesthesia,quantity of medication usedand anesthesia-related complications.We determinedthe frequency of complications in the different groupsand their relation with the quantity of medication usedand the duration of anesthesia.RESULTS:We compiled data for 108 cases of general anesthesia with intubation.We did not observeany permanent anesthesia-related complications;themost frequent side effects of anesthesia were hypo-tension(30.55%),desaturation(21.29%),and apnea(17.59%).These complications were significantly more frequent among patients with multiple additional diseases [hypotension(23.1% vs 76.9%,P = 0.005),desaturation(12.3% vs 69.2%,P < 0.001) and apnea(7.7% vs 53.8%,P = 0.001)],however,their incidence was not proportional to the quantity of medication used or the duration of anesthesia.CONCLUSION:General anesthesia with intubation is definitely a viable option among DBE methods.It is highly recommended in patients with multiple additional diseases. | Laszlo Zubek Lena Szabo Peter Laszlo Lakatos Janos Papp Janos Gal Gabor Elo | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，27： | 2 |
