| 1 | Pulmonary involvement in inflammatory bowel disease显示文摘AIM:To determine the relationship of pulmonary abnormalities and bowel disease activity in inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).METHODS:Thirty ulcerative colitis(UC)and nine Crohn's disease patients,and 20 control subjects were enrolled in this prospective study.Detailed clinical information was obtained.Extent and activity of the bowel disease were established endoscopically.Each patient underwent pulmonary function tests and high-resolution computed tomography(HRCT).Blood samples for measurement of C-reactive protein(CRP),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),angiotensin converting enzyme and total IgE were delivered by the patients.RESULTS:Ten(25.6%)patients had respiratory symptoms.A pulmonary function abnormality was present in 22 of 39 patients.Among all patients,the most prevalent abnormalities in lung functions were a decrease in forced expiratory volume in 1 s(FEV1),FEV1/forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory flow(FEF)25%-75%,transfer coefficient for carbon monoxide(DLCO),DLCO/alveolar volume.Increased respiratory symptoms score was associated with high endoscopic activity index in UC patients.Endoscopic and clinical activities in UC patients were correlated with FEV1,FEV1/FVC,and FEF 25%-75%.Smoking status,duration of disease and medication were not correlated with pulmonary physiological test results,HRCT abnormalities,clinical/endoscopic disease activity,CRP,ESR or total IgE level or body mass index.CONCLUSION:It is important that respiratory manifestations are recognized and treated early in IBD.Otherwise,they can lead to destructive and irreversible changes in the airway wall. | Aydin Yilmaz Nilgün Yilmaz Demirci Derya Hosgün Enver ner Yurdanur Erdogan Atila Gkek Atalay aglar | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，39： | 15 |
| 2 | Portable lensless wide-field microscopy imaging platform based on digital inline holography and multi-frame pixel super-resolution显示文摘In this paper,an irregular displacement-based lensless wide-field microscopy imaging platform is presented by combining digital in-line holography and computational pixel super-resolution using multi-frame processing.The samples are illuminated by a nearly coherent illumination system,where the hologram shadows are projected into a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor-based imaging sensor.To increase the resolution,a multi-frame pixel resolution approach is employed to produce a single holographic image from multiple frame observations of the scene,with small planar displacements.Displacements are resolved by a hybrid approach:(i)alignment of the LR images by a fast feature-based registration method,and(ii)fine adjustment of the sub-pixel information using a continuous optimization approach designed to find the global optimum solution.Numerical method for phase-retrieval is applied to decode the signal and reconstruct the morphological details of the analyzed sample.The presented approach was evaluated with various biological samples including sperm and platelets,whose dimensions are in the order of a few microns.The obtained results demonstrate a spatial resolution of 1.55 μm on a field-of-view of<30 mm^(2). | Antonio C Sobieranski Fatih Inci H Cumhur Tekin Mehmet Yuksekkaya Eros Comunello Daniel Cobra Aldo von Wangenheim Utkan Demirci | 2015 | Light(Science & Applications)2015，4，1： | 7 |

| 4 | IL-2 and IL-15 Exhibit Opposing Effects on Fas Mediated Apoptosis显示文摘It has been shown that IL-2 and IL-15 can have opposing effects on life and death of T cells. However, the role of IL-2 and IL-15 in regulating the fate of other cell types is less clear. In the present study, we examined the impact of IL-2 and IL-15 on life and death of pre-B cells using the BAF-B03 line. We showed that BAF-B03 cells constitutively expressed the private IL-2Rα chain and IL-15Rα chain, and the shared IL-2Rβ chain and γc chain. Stimulation of BAF-B03 cells in vitro with IL-2 and IL-15 induced vigorous cell proliferation in a dose-dependent fashion. Titration of IL-2 and IL-15 in the assay showed that the mitotic effects of IL-2 and IL-15 were remarkably similar, Howerer, the sensitivities of BAF-B03 cells to Fas mediated apoptosis after IL-2 and IL-15 stimulation were strikingly different. Cells cultured in IL-2 readily underwent apoptotic cell deathupon cross-linking of the Fas receptor whereas cells cultured in IL-15 were extremely resistant to Fas triggered cell death. The anti-apoptotic effect of IL-15 in this model was associated with increased expression of Bcl-xL. FLIP expression, however, was comparable between IL-2 and IL-15 stimulated cells. | 5 | In vitro effect of pantoprazole on lower esophageal sphincter tone in rats显示文摘AIM:To investigate the in vitro effects of pantoprazole on rat lower esophageal sphincter(LES)tone.METHODS:Rats weighing 250-300 g,provided by the Yeditepe University Experimental Research Center(Yü-DETAM),were used throughout the study.They were anesthetized before decapitation.LES tissues whose mucosal lining were removed were placed in a stan-dard 30-mL organ bath with a modif ied Krebs solution and continuously aerated with 95% oxygen-5% carbon dioxide gas mixture and kept at room temperature.The tissues were allowed to stabilize for 60 min.Sub-sequently,the contractile response to 10-6 mol/L carba-chol was obtained.Different concentrations of freshly prepared pantoprazole were added directly to the tis-sue bath to generate cumulative concentrations of 5×10-6 mol/L,5×10-5 mol/L,and 1.5×10-4 mol/L.Activi-ties were recorded on an online computer via a 4-channeltransducer data acquisition system using the software BSL PRO v 3.7,which also analyzed the data.RESULTS:Pantoprazole at 5×10-6 mol/L caused a small,but statistically insignif icant,relaxation in the car-bachol-contracted LES(2.23% vs 3.95%).The 5×10-5 mol/L concentration,however,caused a signif icant relax-ation of 10.47% compared with the control.1.5×10-4 mol/L concentration of pantoprazol caused a 19.89% relaxation in the carbachol contracted LES(P<0.001).CONCLUSION:This is the fi rst study to demonstrate that pantoprazole has a relaxing effect in isolated LESs.These results might have signif icant clinical implications for the subset of patients using proton pump inhibitors who do not receive full symptomatic alleviation from gastroesophageal reflux disease. | Mustafa Duman Mahmut zer Enver Rean Yeliz Demirci Ali E Atιcι Tahsin Dalgι Erdal B Bostancι Ece Gen | 2011 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2011，17，46： | 3 |

| 7 | H pylori infection in patients with Behcet's disease显示文摘AIM:To evaluate endoscopic findings and the prevalence of H pylori in patients with Behcet's disease (BD) who have upper gastrointestinal symptoms. METHODS:The patients with BD diagnosed according to the International Study Group and followed up in the Department of Dermatology and other related departments and who had any upper gastrointestinal complaints,were included in this study. Forty-five patients with BD and 40 patients in the control group were evaluated by upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and two biopsied specimens were taken during endoscopy for H pylori . A two-week triple therapy for H pylori eradication was administered to H pylori positive patients. Two months after the treatment,the patients were evaluated by urea-breath test for eradication control. RESULTS:Patients with BD had a mean age of 36.2 ± 11.4 years (18-67 years). The mean follow-up time was 35 ± 14 mo (16-84 mo). Aphthous or deep ulcer in esophagus,stomach and duodenum had never been confirmed by endoscopic examination. Most gastric lesions were gastric erosion (40%) and the most duodenal lesions were duodenitis (17.5%) in two groups. H pylori was positive in 33 patients (73.3%) with BD. The two-week triple eradication therapy was successful in 75% of the patients. There was no difference between the groups in respect to prevalence of H pylori (73.3% vs 75%,P > 0.05),and eradication rate (75% vs 70%,P > 0.05). | 8 | Cobalt,a reactive metal in releasing hydrogen from sodium borohydride by hydrolysis:A short review and a research perspective显示文摘Cobalt is commonly admitted as being a promising catalyst in accelerating NaBH4 hydrolysis,being as reactive as noble metals and much more cost-effective.This is the topic of the present paper.Herein,we survey(i) the NaBH4-devoted literature while especially focusing on the Co catalysts and(ii) our work on the same topic.Finally,we report(iii) reactivity results of newly developed Co-based catalysts.From both surveys,it mainly stands out that Co has been investigated as catalysts in various forms:namely,as chlorides,reduced nanoparticles(metal Co,Co boride,Co-B alloy),supported over supports and shaped.In doing so the reactivity can be easily varied achieving H2 generation rates from few to >1000 L(H2)/min·g(metal).Nevertheless,our work can be distinguished from the NaBH4 literature.Indeed,we are working on strategies that focus on making alternative Co-based catalysts.One of these strategies is illustrated here as we report new reactivity data of Co-based bimetallic supported catalysts.For example,we show that 20 wt% Co90Y10/γAl2O3-20 wt% Co95Hf5/γAl2O3 > 20 wt% Co99Zr1/γAl2O3 > 20 wt% Co/γAl2O3,the best catalysts showing HGRs of about 245 mL(H2)/min or 123 L(H2) /min·g(metals). | DEMIRCI Umit B AKDIM Ouardia HANNAUER Julien CHAMOUN Rita MIELE Philippe | 2010 | Science China Chemistry2010，53，9： | 3 |
