| 1 | Molecular cloning of C4-specific Ppc gene of sorghum and its high level expression in transgenic rice显示文摘In order to improve the carbon-assimilation ability of C3 plants, we isolated a C4-specific photosynthetic enzyme gene, Ppc (encode phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase, PEPCase) from the genome of the C4 plant, sorghum, and transformed rice with it. As shown by sequence analysis, the gene is composed of 10 exons and 9 introns, and the full-length transcript is 5989 bp long. A recombinant expres-sion vector, p1301PEPC, was constructed by inserting the gene into a plasmid vector, pCAMBIA1301, which was then transformed into two japonica rice varieties, Nongken 58 and Zhonghua 10, using an Agrobacterium-mediated transforma-tion system. PCR analysis, activity measurement of PEPCase, and protein-, RNA- and DNA-based hybridization all con-firmed the successful integration of the C4-specific Ppc gene into the nuclear genome of rice and its high level expression. Physiological studies revealed the photosynthetic features characterizing C4 plants such as marked lowering of CO2 compensation point and photorespiration rate, and im-proved carboxylation efficiency. | 2 | Prussian Blue Analogues in Aqueous Batteries and Desalination Batteries显示文摘In the applications of large-scale energy storage,aqueous batteries are considered as rivals for organic batteries due to their environmentally friendly and low-cost nature.However,carrier ions always exhibit huge hydrated radius in aqueous electrolyte,which brings difficulty to find suitable host materials that can achieve highly reversible insertion and extraction of cations.Owing to open threedimensional rigid framework and facile synthesis,Prussian blue analogues(PBAs)receive the most extensive attention among various host candidates in aqueous system.Herein,a comprehensive review on recent progresses of PBAs in aqueous batteries is presented.Based on the application in different aqueous systems,the relationship between electrochemical behaviors(redox potential,capacity,cycling stability and rate performance)and structural characteristics(preparation method,structure type,particle size,morphology,crystallinity,defect,metal atom in highspin state and chemical composition)is analyzed and summarized thoroughly.It can be concluded that the required type of PBAs is different for various carrier ions.In particular,the desalination batteries worked with the same mechanism as aqueous batteries are also discussed in detail to introduce the application of PBAs in aqueous systems comprehensively.This report can help the readers to understand the relationship between physical/chemical characteristics and electrochemical properties for PBAs and find a way to fabricate high-performance PBAs in aqueous batteries and desalination batteries. | Chiwei Xu Zhengwei Yang Xikun Zhang Maoting Xia Huihui Yan Jing Li Haoxiang Yu Liyuan Zhang Jie Shu | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,11: | 4 |
| 3 | Universality and Specificity of Fractal Dimension of Fractured Surfaces in Materials显示文摘After calculation on the fracture angles under various conditions of specific surface energies with different symmetry operations of rotation, the complicated behavior of dependence of fractal dimension on the strudure of crystal is shown. It is found that the crack propagates along the weakest crystal plane no matter what the direction of the maximum stress is if the anisotropy is sufficiently strong; and then, the fractal dimension of the fractured surfaces might be determined by the approximate fractal Structure already existed in the material. Specificity of the fractal dimension of fractured surfaces would be easy to appear in this case. Reversely, the crack propagates along the direction of the maximum stress no matter what direction of the weakest crystal plane is if the anisotropy is sufficiently weak. Universality of the fractal dimension of fractured surfaces would be possible to appear in this case. In many real materials, universality and specificity of the materials are associated. | 5 | Acquisition probability differences in cloud coverage of the available Landsat observations over mainland Southeast Asia from 1986 to 2015显示文摘Landsat data are the longest available records that consistently document global change.However,the extent and degree of cloud coverage typically determine its usability,especially in the tropics.In this study,scene-based metadata from the U.S.Geological Survey Landsat inventories,ten-day,monthly,seasonal,and annual acquisition probabilities(AP)of targeted images at various cloud coverage thresholds(10%to 100%)were statistically analyzed using available Landsat TM,ETM+,and OLI observations over mainland Southeast Asia(MSEA)from 1986 to 2015.Four significant results were found.First,the cumulative average acquisition probability of available Landsat observations over MSEA at the 30%cloud cover(CC)threshold was approximately 41.05%.Second,monthly and ten-day level probability statistics for the 30%CC threshold coincide with the temporal distribution of the dry and rainy seasons.This demonstrates that Landsat images acquired during the dry season satisfy the requirements needed for land cover monitoring.Third,differences in acquisition probabilities at the 30%CC threshold are different between the western and eastern regions of MSEA.Finally,the ability of TM,ETM+,and OLI to acquire high-quality imagery has gradually enhanced over time,especially during the dry season,along with consequently larger probabilities at lower CC thresholds. | Peng Li Zhiming Feng Chiwei Xiao | 2018 | International Journal of Digital Earth2018,11,5: | 2 |
