1Geological characteristics and metallogenic significance of the Devonian intermediate-basic volcanic rocks in the Dachang deposit, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region显示文摘Recently discovered intermediate-basic volcanic rocks in the Devonian strata at Dachang, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are dominated by basalts and andesites. Most of them belong to the calc-alkali and alkali series. Petrology and geochemistry data indicate that the volcanic rocks may be formed in a continental rift environment. The volcanic rocks are in conformable contact with the overlying and underlying wall rocks, with such typical sedimentary structures as laminated and striped ones, and the host rocks of the volcanic rocks contain lots of marine fossils such as tentaculite. Many pieces of evidence indicate that the eruption environment of the volcanic rocks is a sea-facies one. The volcanic rocks are of the LREE-enrichment type, with high ratios of light rare-earth elements to heavy rare-earth elements. In addition, they display moderately negative δEu anomalies and moderately negative δCe anomalies with a higher degree of LREE and HREE fractionation. Through the Q-cluster analysis of the REE samples, it is indicated that the ores have a closer relation with the layered volcanic rocks, and also possess a certain inheritance-consistency relationship with the layered volcanic rocks. The source of ore-forming materials may be related with volcanism. 2Whole-Process Pollution Control for Cost-Effective and Cleaner Chemical Production A Case Study of the Tungsten Industry in China显示文摘In this research,a methodology named whole-process pollution control(WPPC)is demonstrated that improves the effectiveness of process optimization.This methodology considers waste/emission treatment as a step of the whole production process with respect to the minimization of cost and environmental impact for the whole process.The following procedures are introduced in a WPPC process optimization:①a material and energy flow investigation and optimization based on a systematic understanding of the distribution and physiochemical properties of potential pollutants;②a process optimization to increase the utilization efficiency of different elements and minimize pollutant emissions;and③an evaluation to reveal the effectiveness of the optimization strategies.The production of ammonium paratungstate was chosen for the case study.Two factors of the different optimization schemes-namely the cost-effectiveness factor and the environmental impact indicator-were evaluated and compared.This research demonstrates that by considering the nature of potential pollutants,technological innovations,economic viability,environmental impacts,and regulation requirements,WPPC can efficiently optimize a metal production process.Hongbin Cao He Zhao Di Zhang Chenming Liu Xiao Lin Yuping Li Pengge Ning Jiajun Sun Yi Zhang Zhi Sun 2019Engineering2019,5,4:7
3Deficiency of Mouse CD4^+CD25^+Foxp3^+ Regulatory T Cells in Xenogeneic Pig Thymus-Grafted Nude Mice Suffering from Autoimmune Diseases显示文摘Xenogeneic thymus transplantation can efficiently induce specific immune tolerance to donor antigens in athymic recipients. However, many nude mice suffer from autoimmune diseases (AID) for over 10 weeks after xenogeneic thymus transplantation. CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ regulatory T (Treg) cells were recently determined to play a pivotal role in keeping immune tolerance in humans and mice. Thus, we investigated this subpopulation of Treg cells in the periphery of pig thymus-grafted nude mice suffering from AID. Our results showed that the expression of Foxp3, CTLA-4 and GITR on mouse CD4+CD25+ T cells and the ratio of CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ Treg cells to CD4+ T cells were significantly decreased in the periphery of pig thymus-grafted nude mice suffering from AID, compared with healthy pig or mouse thymus-grafted nude mice. Furthermore, mouse CD4+CD25+ T cells in pig thymus-grafted nude mice suffering from AID showed more severe deficiency in immunosuppressive function compared with the counterpart in xenogeneic pig or syngeneic thymus-grafted nude mice without AID. 4Analysis of time and frequency synchronization error for wireless systems using OFDM显示文摘Due to frequency-selective and time-variant property of wireless channel together with additive noise and mismatch of oscillators between transmitter and receiver, there are always time and frequency synchronization errors in a practical OFDM system. To investigate the effect of the two kinds of errors on system performance, the average normalized interference power (NIP) is defined. A simple supper bound for NIP caused by time synchronization error (TSE) and the tighter upper bound for NIP resulting from frequency synchronization error (FSE) are derived independently. Simulations in typical short wave (SW) and medium wave (MW) channels further verify the correctness and tightness of these upper bounds. They actually provide good approximations to NIPs. Moreover, the upper bound for NIP resulting from FSE is tighter than traditional upper bound. Additionally, a new solution is proposed to relax the precision requirement for time synchronization algorithm, which can achieve a better tradeoff between time synchronization precision and bandwidth efficiency. 5Primed macrophages directly and specifically reject allografts显示文摘Monocytes and macrophages have long been associated with acute and chronic allograft rejection;this is mediated by their abilities to promote inflammation,kill target cells via antibody-dependent cytotoxicity and modulate adaptive immunity.Our present study showed that allogeneic antigen-primed macrophages acutely rejected skin grafts with specificity after adoptive transfer into MHC-matched immunodeficient mice.The ability of primed macrophages to reject allografts essentially requires the help of CD4^(+) T cells and does not require the help of CD8^(+) T cells.Moreover,the primed,perforin-deficient macrophages rejected the skin grafts in a significantly delayed pattern compared with WT macrophages,indicating that the perforin pathway of the primed macrophages is likely involved in the rejection process.Thus,primed macrophages are endowed with adaptive immunitylike features,such as specificity,with the help of CD4^(+) T cells during the immune response to allografts.The present study challenges our traditional views of macrophage functions and highlights the biological functions of macrophages beyond innate immunity in mammals.Zhulang Chu Chenming Sun Lina Sun Chang Feng Fan Yang Yanan Xu Yong Zhao 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,3:4
6Transforming growth factor-β signaling in systemic sclerosis显示文摘Systemic sclerosis(SSc) is a complex, multiorgan autoimmune disease of unknown etiology. Manifestation of the disease results from an interaction of three key pathologic features including irregularities of the antigen-specific immune system and the non-specific Immune system, resulting in autoantibody production, vascular endothelial activation of small blood vessels, and tissue fibrosis as a result of fibroblast dysfunction. Given the heterogeneity of clinical presentation of the disease, a lack of universal models has impeded adequate testing of potential therapies for SSc. Regardless, recent research has elucidated the roles of various ubiquitous molecular mechanisms that contribute to the clinical manifestation of the disease. Transforming growth factor β(TGF-β) has been identified as a regulator of pathological fibrogenesis in SSc. Various processes, including cell growth, apoptosis, cell differentiation, and extracellular matrix synthesis are regulated by TGF-β,a type of cytokine secreted by macrophages and many other cell types. 7醒脑静注射液对急性脑梗死血瘀证患者外周血单个核细胞T淋巴细胞的影响显示文摘目的:探讨醒脑静注射液对急性脑梗死(ACI)血瘀证患者外周血单个核细胞(PBMC)T淋巴细胞的影响。方法:70例患者随机分为治疗组以及对照组各35例。对照组用常规治疗,治疗组在常规治疗基础上加醒脑静注射液。疗程均为14 d,观察两组患者治疗前后中医疗效和NIHSS评分,检测治疗前及治疗后Th1、Th2百分率和Th1/Th2比值。结果:治疗组和对照组治疗前Th1、Th2百分率、Th1/Th2和NIHSS评分比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);治疗3、7、14 d后两组患者NIHSS评分与治疗前比较,均有统计学差异(P<0.05)。治疗组患者Th1、Th1/Th2、NIHSS评分在治疗后3、14 d均明显低于对照组(P<0.05),Th2以及中医疗效总有效率明显高于对照组(P<0.05或0.01)。结论:醒脑静注射液明显调控急性脑梗死血瘀证患者Th1/Th2平衡,对神经功能缺损具有较好的改善作用。卢志刚 刘芸 卢青 WANG Chenming 2016中华中医药学刊2016,34,12:4
8A multi-axis robot-based bioprinting system supporting natural cell function preservation and cardiac tissue fabrication显示文摘Despite the recent advances in artificial tissue and organ engineering,how to generate large size viable and functional complex organs still remains as a grand challenge for regenerative medicine.Three-dimensional bioprinting has demonstrated its advantages as one of the major methods in fabricating simple tissues,yet it still faces difficulties to generate vasculatures and preserve cell functions in complex organ production.Here,we overcome the limitations of conventional bioprinting systems by converting a six degree-of-freedom robotic arm into a bioprinter,therefore enables cell printing on 3D complex-shaped vascular scaffolds from all directions.We also developed an oil bath-based cell printing method to better preserve cell natural functions after printing.Together with a self-designed bioreactor and a repeated print-and-culture strategy,our bioprinting system is capable to generate vascularized,contractible,and long-term survived cardiac tissues.Such bioprinting strategy mimics the in vivo organ development process and presents a promising solution for in vitro fabrication of complex organs.Zeyu Zhang Chenming Wu Chengkai Dai Qingqing Shi Guoxin Fang Dongfang Xie Xiangjie Zhao Yong-Jin Liu Charlie CLWang Xiu-Jie Wang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,12:4
9Distinct synergetic effects in the ozone enhanced photocatalytic degradation of phenol and oxalic acid with Fe^(3+)/TiO_2 catalyst显示文摘In this work, phenol and oxalic acid(OA) degradation in an ozone and photocatalysis integrated process was intensively conducted with Fe^(3+)/TiO_2 catalyst. The ferrioxalate complex formed between Fe^(3+) and oxalate accelerated the removal of OA in the ozonation, photolysis and photocatalytic ozonation process, for its high reactivity with ozone and UV. Phenol was degraded in ozonation and photolysis with limited TOC removal rates, but much higher TOC removal was achieved in photocatalytic ozonation due to the generation of ·OH. The sequence of UV light and ozone in the sequential process also influences the TOC removal, and ozone is very powerful to oxidize intermediates catechol and hydroquinone to maleic acid. Fenton or photo-Fenton reactions only played a small part in Fe^(3+)/TiO_2catalyzed processes, because Fe^(3+) was greatly reduced but not regenerated in many cases.The synergetic effect was found to be highly related with the property of the target pollutants. 11Application of triple potential step amperometry method for quantitative electroanalysis显示文摘A novel quantitative electroanalysis method, triple potential step amperometry (TPSA), was developed and explained with an example of nitrobenzene analyzing in water. The selectivity of TPSA was im- proved by controlling the potential step within a narrow interval and using enzyme-modified electrode, the narrow potential step makes the method avoid most interferents, and enzyme-modified electrode can enhance the response of target substance selectively. The peak area was investigated for quanti- tative calibration, such as nitrobenzene concentration showing a linear relation with the peak area, with the correlation coefficients being 0.9995. The t-test and F-test were applied to evaluating the reliability of TPSA, the results showed that there was no evidence of systematic error for TPSA, and the method was of no significant difference from CV. 13Settling,consolidation and shear strength behaviour of coal tailings slurry显示文摘The volume change and shear strength behaviour of tailings slurry with the changes in gravimetric moisture content is important to effectively utilise the storage volume and analysis of dam failure potential.Consolidation testing of tailings from a slurry-like to soil-like state is a critical task,and conventional consolidation apparatus does not have the capability of doing such testing,as the tailings slurries contain high water content.Settling tests conducted on slurries having a 25%solids concentration showed very low efficiency;final sediment was still slurry-like.An intrinsic point was identified based on pore water pressure dissipation during consolidation tests in a slurry consolidometer that can define two states of the tailings i.e.slurry-like and soil-like.In the slurry-like state,the volume change was greater for Slurry 2 than Slurry 1,while the inverse was observed in the soil-like state.The evolution of peak vane shear strength with the changes in moisture content was almost similar for both samples and obeyed the power function.Regression models have been developed and validated to predict the shear strength of materials at any gravimetric moisture content or void ratio.Shriful Islam David J.Williams Marcelo Llano-Serna Chenming Zhang 2020International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020,30,6:2
14Fixed-wing UAV guidance law for ground target over-flight tracking显示文摘This paper studies the problem of tracking a ground target for a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) based on the proposed guidance law. The algorithm ensures that a UAV continuously overflies the target whether it is fixed or moving. The requirements of the UAV flight constraints such as bounded airspeed and acceleration are considered. A Lyapunov function is constructed to prove the stability of the proposed guidance law,and parameter design criteria have been developed.
