2Changes in soil carbon sequestration and soil respiration following afforestation on paddy fields in north subtropical China显示文摘Aims Although many studies have reported net gains of soil organic carbon(SOC)after afforestation on croplands,this is uncertain for Chinese paddy rice croplands.Here,we aimed to evaluate the effects of affores-tation of paddy rice croplands on SOC sequestration and soil respiration(R).Such knowledge would improve our understanding of the efctive-ness of various land use options on greenhouse gas mitigation in China.Methods The investigation was conducted on the Chongming Island,north subtropical China.Field sites were reclaimed from coastal salt marshes in the 1960s,and soils were homogeneous with simple land use:histories.SOC stocks and R,levels were monitored over one year in a paddy rice cropland,an evergreen and a deciduous broad-leaved plantation established on previous paddy fields and a reference fal-low land site never cultivated.Laboratory incubation of soil under fast-changing temperatures was used to compare the temperature sensitivity(Q10)of SOC decomposition across land uses.Important Findings After 15-20 years of afforestation on paddy fields,SOC concentra-tion only slightly increased at the depth of 0--5 cm but decreased in deeper layers,which resulted in a net loss of SOC stock in the top 40cm.Seasonal increase of sOC was observed during the rice-growing period in croplands but not in afforested soils,suggest-ing a stronger SOC sequestration by paddy rice cropping.However,SOC sequestered under cropping was more labile,as indicated by its higher contents of dissolved organic carbon and microbial bio-mass.Also,paddy soils had higher annual R,than afforested soils;R,abruptly increased after paddy fields were drained and plowed and remained distinctively high throughout the dry farming period.Laboratory incubation revealed that paddy soils had a much higher Q10 of SOC decomposition than afforested soils.Given that tem-perature was the primary controller of R,in this region,it was con-cluded that despite the stronger SOC sequestration by paddy rice cropping,its SOC was less stable than in afforested systems and might be more easily released into the atmosphere under global warming.Jun Cui Rongjuan Zhang Naishun Bu Huabin Zhang Boping Tang Zhaolei Li Lifeng Jiang Jiakuan Chen Changming Fang 2013Journal of Plant Ecology2013,6,3:4
3Penumbral imaging and numerical evaluation of large area source neutron imaging system显示文摘The fusion neutron penumbral imaging system Monte Carlo model was established. The transfer functions of the two discrete units in the neutron source were obtained in two situations:Imaging in geometrical near-optical and real situation. The spatial resolutions of the imaging system in two situations were evaluated and compared. The penumbral images of four units in the source were obtained by means of 2-dimensional (2D) convolution and Monte Carlo simulation. The penumbral images were reconstructed with the same method of filter. The same results were confirmed. The encoding essence of penumbral imaging was revealed. With MCNP(Monte Carlo N-particle) simulation,the neutron penumbral images of the large area source (200 μm×200 μm) on scintillation fiber array were obtained. The improved Wiener filter method was used to reconstruct the penumbral image and the source image was obtained. The results agree with the preset neutron source image. 6Effects of Mg on Mechanical Properties of 35CrNi3MoV Steel显示文摘The effects of Mg on the mechanical properties of 35CrNi3MoV steel has been studied in this paper. The results show that Mg has less effect on the tensile properties and hardness of the steel at room temperature, but a right amount of Mg improves impact and fracture toughness and decreases the fracture-transition temperature considerably due to inclusions modification, as well as prolongs the notch stress rupture life dramatically through strengthening grain boundary and modifying boundary carbides. According to the comparison between environmental factors of seawater. and on the basis of mathematical space theory and the four principles of normalization, even symmetry, globality and proximity, smoothing discrete function, the grey derivative and the grey differential equation have been defined, the grey models and relation to the factors (the seawater physical and chemical factors) were estimated. 10Repetitive DNA Sequences from the X Chromosome of the Spiny Eel (Mastacembelus aculeatus)显示文摘To investigate the characters of repetitive DNA se-quence in the sex chromosomes of the spiny eel (Mastacembelus aculeatus), the X chromosomal library was screened and a family of repetitive sequence, consisting of Ma 1-Ma 6, was isolated. The fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) result confirmed that Ma 1- Ma 5 dispersed over sex chromosomes and all autosomes, whereas, Ma 6 is sex chromosome-specific and distributed only on the C-band positive regions of X chromosome, and Ma 6 maybe the main components of the heterochromatic regions of X chro-mosome. 11Kinetics of Nitrogen Removal from Molten Steel under Vacuum and Gas-Blowing Conditions显示文摘The kinetics of nitrogen removal from molten steel under vacuum and gas-blowing conditions has beenstudied during the VIM process. The experimental results indicated that vacuum affected the kinetics of nitrogenremoval in the range of 67-5 360 Pa. At 67 Pa, the rate of nitrogen removal is controlled by the liquid phase masstransfer of nitrogen in molten steel. At 2 680Pa, the limited step for nitrogen removal from molten steel is the chemical reaction at the metal/gas interface. Under the present experimental conditions, the type (Ar, CO, CO2) and quantity of gas flowed have no evident influences on the rate of nitrogen removal. The ratio of nitrogen removal of gasbubbles is less than 3 %. Based on the experimental results, the mechanism of nitrogen removal during the VDprocess with argon blowing and the other melting or secondary refining processes with carbon-oxygen reaction havebeen discussed. 13Demulsification Behavior, Characteristics, and Performance of Surfactant Stabilized Oil-in-Water Emulsion under Bidirectional Pulsed Electric Field显示文摘As a novel electric demulsification method,bidirectional pulsed electric field(BPEF)was employed to demulsify the surfactant stabilized oil-in-water(SSO/W)emulsion for oil/water separation in this work.The demulsification behavior,characteristics,and stages under BPEF were explored.It was discovered that BPEF drove SSO/W emulsion to move and form vortexes,during which the oil droplets aggregated and accumulated to generate an oil droplet layer(ODL).ODL subsequently transformed into a continuous oil layer(COL)leading to the demulsification and separation of SSO/W emulsion.The conversion rate of ODL to COL was defined and used to evaluate the demulsification process and reflect the coalescence ability and transformation efficiency of dispersed oil droplets into COL.Furthermore,the effects of BPEF voltage,frequency,duty cycle,ratio of pulse output time,and surfactant type and content on the demulsification performance were examined.The optimal values of BPEF parameters for demulsification operation were 400 V,25 Hz,50%,and 4:1.O/W emulsion containing anionic surfactant was apt to be demulsified by BPEF,nonionic surfactant took the second place and cationic surfactant was the most difficult.A high surfactant content was not conducive to the BPEF demulsification.This work is anticipated to provide useful guidance for oil/water separation and oil recovery from actual emulsified oily wastewater by BPEF.Ren Boping Kang Yong Zhang Xianming Gong Haifeng Chen Ling Liu Yunqi 2023China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2023,25,1:0
