| 1 | The relation of Banach-Alaoglu theorem and Banach-Bourbaki-Kakutani-mulian theorem in complete random normed modules to stratification structure显示文摘Let (Ω,A,μ) be a probability space, K the scalar field R of real numbers or C of complex numbers,and (S,X) a random normed space over K with base (Ω,A,μ). Denote the support of (S,X) by E, namely E is the essential supremum of the set {A ∈ A : there exists an element p in S such that Xp(ω) > 0 for almost all ω in A}. In this paper, Banach-Alaoglu theorem in a random normed space is first established as follows: The random closed unit ball S*(1) = {f ∈ S* : Xf* 1} of the random conjugate space (S*,X*) of (S,X) is compact under the random weak star topology on (S*,X*) iff E∩A=: {E∩A | A ∈ A} is essentially purely μ-atomic (namely, there exists a disjoint family {An : n ∈ N} of at most countably many μ-atoms from E∩A such that E =∪n∞=1 An and for each element F in E∩A, there is an H in the σ-algebra generated by {An : n ∈ N} satisfying μ(F △H) = 0), whose proof forces us to provide a key topological skill, and thus is much more involved than the corresponding classical case. Further, Banach-Bourbaki-Kakutani-mulian (briefly, BBKS) theorem in a complete random normed module is established as follows: If (S,X) is a complete random normed module, then the random closed unit ball S(1) = {p ∈ S : Xp 1} of (S,X) is compact under the random weak topology on (S,X) iff both (S,X) is random reflexive and E∩A is essentially purely μ-atomic. Our recent work shows that the famous classical James theorem still holds for an arbitrary complete random normed module, namely a complete random normed module is random reflexive iff the random norm of an arbitrary almost surely bounded random linear functional on it is attainable on its random closed unit ball, but this paper shows that the classical Banach-Alaoglu theorem and BBKS theorem do not hold universally for complete random normed modules unless they possess extremely simple stratification structure, namely their supports are essentially purely μ-atomic. Combining the James theorem and BBKS theorem in complete random normed modules leads directly to an interesting phenomenum: there exist many famous classical propositions that are mutually equivalent in the case of Banach spaces, some of which remain to be mutually equivalent in the context of arbitrary complete random normed modules, whereas the other of which are no longer equivalent to another in the context of arbitrary complete random normed modules unless the random normed modules in question possess extremely simple stratification structure. | 3 | Analytical model for cratering of semi-infinite metallic targets by long rod penetrators显示文摘Analytical model is presented herein to predict the diameter of crater in semi-infinite metallic targets struck by a long rod penetrator. Based on the observation that two mechanisms such as mushrooming and cavitation are involved in cavity expansion by a long rod penetrator, the model is constructed by using the laws of conservation of mass, momentum, energy, together with the u-v relationship of the newly suggested 1D theory of long rod penetration (see Lan and Wen, Sci China Tech Sci, 2010, 53(5): 1364–1373). | 4 | Ultralight X-type lattice sandwich structure (Ⅱ):Micromechanics modeling and finite element analysis显示文摘The methods of homogenization and finite elements are employed to predict the effective elastic constants and stress-strain responses of a new type of lattice structure,the X-structure proposed by the authors in a companion paper. It is shown that in most cases the predictions by the equivalent homogenization theory agree well with the experimental and 3-dimensional finite element calculated results. | 5 | Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Nanocrystalline Tungsten Thin Films显示文摘Tungsten (W) thin films were prepared by magnetron sputtering onto Si (100) substrates. Their microstructures were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The hardness and modulus were evaluated by nanoindentation. It is found that a 30 nm Cr sticking layer induces structure changes of deposited W film from β-W to α-W structure. In addition, remarkable hardness enhancement both for the deposited and annealed W films, were compared with that of bulk coarse-grained W, although their nanoindentation modulus is very close to that of corresponding bulk W. | 8 | Determination of Young's modulus by nanoindentation显示文摘A methodology for determining Youngs modulus of materials by non-ideally sharp indentation has been developed. According to the principle of the same area-to-depth ratio, a non-ideally pyramidal indenter like a Berkovich one can be approximated by a non-ideally conical indenter with a spherical cap at the tip. By applying dimensional and finite element analysis to the non-ideally conical indentation, a set of approximate one-to-one relationships between the ratio of nominal hardness/reduced Youngs modulus and the ratio of elastic work/total work, which correspond to different tip bluntness, have been revealed. The nominal hardness is defined as the maximum indentation load divided by the cross-section area of the conical indenter specified at the maximum indentation depth. As a consequence, Youngs modulus can be determined from a nanoindentation test only using the maximum indentation load and depth, and the work done during loading and unloading processes. The new method for determining Youngs modulus is referred to as pure energy method. The validity of the method was examined by performing indentation tests on five materials. | 11 | Melt-spun Al_(70-X)Si_(30)Mn_X (X=0,3,5,7,10) anode in lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Al70-XSi30MnX (X=0, 3, 5, 7, 10, mol%) ribbons were prepared by melt spinning. A supersaturated solid solution of Si and Mn in fcc Al and some microstructures consisting of nano grains were obtained. Some alloys with nano-sized grains exhibited high discharge capacities and favorable cycle properties. The capacity of more than 400 mAh/g could be obtained in melt-spun Al67Si30Mn3 alloy after 20 cycles and more than 300 mAh/g after 40 cycles. Li/Si and Li/Al compounds in the anodes of pure Al and pure Si were not detected in Al-Si-Mn alloys inserted by Li. It is considered that the formation of the supersaturated solid solution and refinement of microstructures have prevented the alloys from the forming the compounds with superfluous Li. Microstructure and compositionwere investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD). Open porosity, pore size distribution and basic mechanical performance were measured by Archimedes method,mercury intrusion porosimetry and three-point bending methods, respectively. SEM and TEM results revealed thatpores were formed by elongated β-Si3N4. SADP measurement proved the formation of SiC particles. The SiCgranules were beneficial for the formation of high ratio elongated β-Si3N4, and at proper amount, they also acted asreinforcement phase.
