CASE-BASED PRODUCT CONFIGURATION AND REUSE IN MASS CUSTOMIZATION显示文摘The increasing complexity and size of configuration knowledge bases requires the provision of advanced methods supporting the development of the actual configuration process and design reuse.A new framework to find a feasible and practical product configuration method is presented in mass customization. The basic idea of the approach is to integrate case-based reasoning (CBR) with a constraint satisfaction problem(CSP).The similarity measure between a crisp and range is also given, which is common in case retrieves.Based on the configuration model,a product platform and customer needs, case adaptation is carried out with the repair-based algorithm.Lastly, the methodology in the elevator configuration design domain is tested.Wang Shiwei Tan Jianrong Zhang Shuyou Wang Xin He Chenqi State Key Laboratory of CAD&CG,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027, China 2004Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2004,17,2:39
Micro-electrolysis technology for industrial wastewater treatment显示文摘Experiments were conducted to study the role of micro-electrolysis in removing chromaticity and COD and improving the biodegradability of wastewater from pharmaceutical, dye-printing and papermaking plants. Results showed that the use of micro-electrolysis technology could remove more than 90% of chromaticity and more than 50% of COD and greatly improved the biodegradability of pharmaceutical wastewater. Lower initial pH could be advantageous to the removal of chromaticity. A retention time of 30 minutes was recommended for the process design of micro-electrolysis. For the use of micro-electrolysis in treatment of dye-printing wastewater, the removal rates of both chromaticity and COD were increased from neutral condition to acid condition for disperse blue wastewater; more than 90% of chromaticity and more than 50% of COD could be removed in neutral condition for vital red wastewater.JIN Yi-zhong , ZHANG Yue-feng, LI Wei (Department of Environmental Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China.) 2003Journal of Environmental Sciences2003,15,3:36
Simultaneous oxidation of NO,SO_2 and Hg^0 from flue gas by pulsed corona discharge显示文摘A process capable of simultaneously oxidizing NO,SO2,and Hg0 was proposed, using a high-voltage and short-duration positive pulsed corona discharge.By focusing on NO,SO2,and Hg0 oxidation effciencies, the influences of pulse peak voltage, pulse frequency, initial concentration, electrode number, residence time and water vapor addition were investigated. The results indicate that NO,SO2 and Hg0 oxidation effciencies depend primarily on the radicals(OH,HO2,O) and the active species(O3,H2O2,etc.) produced by the pulsed corona discharge. The NO,SO2 and Hg0 oxidation effciencies could be improved as pulse peak voltage, pulse frequency, electrode number and residence time increased, but they were reduced with increasing initial concentrations.By adding water vapor, the SO2 oxidation effciency was improved remarkably, while the NO oxidation effciency decreased slightly. In our experiments, the simultaneous NO,SO2,and Hg0 oxidation effciencies reached to 40%,98%,and 55% with the initial concentrations 479 mg/m3,1040 mg/m3,and 15.0 μg/m3,respectively.XU Fei,LUO Zhongyang,CAO Wei,WANG Peng,WEI Bo,GAO Xiang,FANG Mengxiang,CEN Kefa State key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China. 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,3:22
Emission characteristics of dioxins, furans and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons during fluidized-bed combustion of sewage sludge显示文摘Pre-dried sewage sludge with high sulfur content was combusted in an electrically heated lab-scale fluidized-bed incinerator. The emission characteristics of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were studied. Coal and calcium oxide (CaO) were added during the sewage sludge combustion tests to optimize combustion conditions and control SO2 emission. The results indicated that the flue gases emitted during mono-combustion of sewage sludge were characterized by relatively high concentrations of SO2, NOx and organic pollutants, due to the high sulfur, nitrogen, and volatile matter content of sewage sludge. The total 16 USEPA priority PAHs and 2,3,7,8-substituted PCDD/Fs produced from sewage sludge combustion were found to be 106.14 μg/m3 and 8955.93 pg/m3 in the flue gas, respectively. In the case of co- combustion with coal (msludge/mcoal = 1:1), the 16 PAHs and 2,3,7,8-substituted PCDD/Fs concentrations were markedly lower than those found during mono-combustion of sewage sludge. During co-combustion, a suppressant effect of CaO on PCDD/Fs formation was observed.DENG Wenyi, YAN Jianhua, LI Xiaodong, WANG Fei, CHI Yong, LU ShengyongState Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization, Institute for Thermal Power Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China. 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,12:17
Performance prediction and flow analysis in the vaned distributor of a pump turbine under low flow rate in pump mode显示文摘The main goal of this work is to investigate the possible different flow patterns existing in pump turbine under off-design conditions in pump mode. Numerical simulations by solving the Navier-Stokes equation, coupled with the 'SST k-ω' turbulence model, were carried out. Flow characteristics were assumed to be stalled in the appropriate region of ?ow rate levels of Q/QD=0.15–0.61. The simulation result was compared with experimental data and they showed good agreement. Consequently, velocity fields in three axial locations in stay vanes and guide vanes were analysed in details. It was shown that 'jet-wake' flow pattern exists near the band, which changes little in the whole shape with flow rate increasing; to the middle location of vanes, reverse flow begins to appear on the interface between the runner and guide vanes, which will disappear gradually as the flow rate increases; massive reverse flow is captured near the crown, whose intensity will be weakened as the flow rate increases. Ultimately, it was found that the special head-flow profile can be ascribed to the special hydraulic loss characteristics of the stay vanes and guide vanes.YIN JunLian1, LIU JinTao1, WANG LeQin1, JIAO Lei1, WU DaZhuan1 & QIN DaQing2 1 Institute of Chemical Machinery, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China 2 Harbin Institute of Large Electrical Machinery, Harbin 150001, China 2010Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,12:17
Reliability-Based Design for Jacket Platform Under Extreme Loads显示文摘In this paper, reliability analysis for the offshore jacket platform with the interaction of structure- pile- soil under extreme environmental loads is carried out. The inherent uncertainties of the environmental load, foundation soil, platform itself, and calculating models are evaluated. The action of extreme loads on the offshore platform is modeled as a function of extreme wave height. The system capacity of the whole platform is determined by nonlinear pushover analysis, and the relevant probability property is obtained by the simulation method. The reliability model for the whole jacket platform is described as the relationship between the load and resistance based on the offshore design codes. The reliability of whole platform is calculated by the analytical method and the importance sampling method on the basis of a case study for a tripod jacket platform.Jin Weiliang Associate Professor, Dr. -Eng., Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027 1996China Ocean Engineering1996,11,2:17
Quasi-static Analysis of Thrust-loaded Angular Contact Ball Bearings Part Ⅰ:Theoretical Formulation显示文摘Ball bearings play an important role in various rotating machineries, but the complicated kinematic and tribological features of ball bearings make many aspects of their operating behaviors still inconclusive. Most theoretical analyses of ball bearings up to date are based on either the hypothesis of race control or other empirical models to determine the ball motion of ball bearings, but none of these strategies can reveal and consequently employ the intrinsic coupling mechanism between the spin and the tangential traction of contacting bodies rolling upon one another. To remedy the deficiency of current analytical models for ball bearing analysis, the rolling contact theory is employed to establish an explicit link between motions and interactions within ball bearings.A differential slip model is established to precisely define the slip component due to the significant curvature of the common contact patches between the ball and inner/outer raceways. The creepage and the spin ratio are formulated to accurately define the relative rigid motion between the ball and the inner/outer raceway. Then a quasi-static analytical model is established that can accurately determine the motions of the balls and races of the ball bearing. It can also give a vivid description of the slip and traction distributions within the contact area. The analytical model can be effectively used to analyze the operational conditions and tribological features of solid-lubricated ball bearings. It can also be used optimize the construction of ball bearings for specific applications.CHEN Wenhua1,2,MA Zikui1,GAO Liang1,LI Xinglin3,and PAN Jun2 1 Institute of Mechanical Design,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China 2 Institute of Mechanical Design and Manufacturing,Zhejiang Sci-Tech University,Hangzhou 310018,China 3 State Testing Laboratory of Hangzhou Bearing Test & Research Center,Hangzhou 310022,China 2012Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,1:16
Effect of temperature and oxygen on the formation of chlorobenzene as the indicator of PCDD/Fs显示文摘Sampling and analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs) are both time-consuming and expensive. In principle,real-time monitoring of chlorobenzene(CBz) as an indicator for PCDD/Fs could be useful to control and optimize incinerator operating conditions. To test this strategy,CBz was analyzed together with PCDD/Fs in flue gas samples collected from a hospital waste incinerator. Moreover, lab experiments were conducted to investigate the eect of temperature and oxygen on CBz formation from fly ash from the same incinerator. The experimental results demonstrate that chlorobenzene(in particular PeCBz) correlate well with PCDD/Fs,in line with previous research. The optimum temperature of CBz formation is in a range of 350 to 400°C and CBz yield increases significantly with oxygen,in line with PCDD/Fs formation. This study is useful for confirming the de novo mechanism and defining correlations between CBz and PCDD/Fs.Mi Yan,Xiaodong LiTong Chen,Shengyong Lu,Jianhua Yan,Kefa Cen State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,10:16
Geometric construction of energy-minimizing Bézier curves显示文摘Modeling energy-minimizing curves have many applications and are a basic problem of Geometric Modeling. In this paper,we propose the method for geometric design of energy-minimizing B′ezier curves.Firstly, the necessary and sufficient condition on the control points for B′ezier curves to have minimal internal energy is derived.Based on this condition,we propose the geometric constructions of three kinds of B′ezier curves with minimal internal energy including stretch energy, strain energy and jerk energy.Given some control points, the other control points can be determined as the linear combination of the given control points. We compare the three kinds of energy-minimizing B′ezier curves via curvature combs and curvature plots, and present the collinear properties of quartic energy-minimizing B′ezier curves. We also compare the proposed method with previous methods on efficiency and accuracy. Finally, several applications of the curve generation technique, such as curve interpolation with geometric constraints and modeling of circle-like curves are discussed.XU Gang 1,4,5,WANG GuoZhao 2 & CHEN WenYu 2,3 1 Institute of Graphics and Image,Hangzhou Dianzi University,Hangzhou 310018,China 2 Department of Mathematics,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China 3 School of Computer Engineering,Nanyang Technological University,639798,Singapore 4 Galaad,INRIA Sophia-Antipolis,2004 Route des Lucioles,06902,France 5 State Key Lab of CAD & CG,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China 2011Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,7:15
An Experimental Investigation of a new Method for Protecting Bends from Erosion in Gas-Particle Flows显示文摘Bend erosion is a fairly serious problem in conveyer pipe system. This paper intends to introduce a new antierosion method for bend: ribbed anti-erosion method. Experimental research has been done by fixing ribs in the range of 10°- 70°on the outer-wall of inside 90°-bend. As a result the experiment got anti-erosion efficiency: 93.02%. It shows that ribbed bend technology is a simple and efficient anti-erosion method. Besides, the experiments indicate that rectangle ribs tend to do more obvious anti-erosion effect than square ribs do when they have equal height.Yao Jun Fan Jianren Zhang Benzhao Cen Kefa (Department of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China) 2000Journal of Thermal Science2000,9,2:15
CORROSION MONITORING OF LY12 IN SODIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION WITH ELECTROCHEMICAL NOISE TECHNIQUE显示文摘Spontaneous electrochemical noise (EN) can be a rich source of information concerning the processes simultaneously occurring on a corroding interface. But the noise signal is often difficult to be analyzed due to the complicated nature of the specific systems being investigated. In this paper the potential noise fluctuations during the bee corrosion of commercial aluminum alloy LY12 in sodium chloride solution was recorded and analyzed with different techniques. The typical results showed that the fractal dimension (Dn) obtained from spectral power density (SPD) is mainly directly proportional to the intensity of pitting corrosion and to the value of pitting parameter (SE) derived hem dimensional analysis, while the fractal dimension (DE) obtained from EIS is mainly related to the uniform corrosion.J.Q. 13Degradation Mechanism of Cationic Red X-GRL by Ozonation显示文摘The degradation mechanism of Cationic Red X-GRL was investigated when the intermediates, the nitrate ion and the pH were analyzed in the ozonation. The degradation of the Cationic Red X-GRL includes the de-auxochrome stage, the decolour stage, and the decomposition of fragment stage. During the degradation process, among the six nitrogen atoms of Cationic Red X-GRL, one is transferred into a nitrate ion, one becomes the form of an amine compound, and the rest four are transformed into two molecules of nitrogen. In the course of the ozonation of Cationic Red X-GRL, the direct attack of ozone is the main decolour effect.Wei Rong ZHAO*, Xin Hua XU, Hui Xiang SHI, Da Hui WANG Department of Environmental Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027 2003Chinese Chemical Letters2003,14,12:14

Photochemically enhanced degradation of phenol using heterogeneous Fenton-type catalysts显示文摘The degradation of phenol was carried out using heterogeneous Fenton-type catalysts in the presence of H2O2 and UV. Catalysts were prepared by exchanging and immobilizing Fe 2+ in zeolite 13X, silica gel or Al2O3. The concentration of phenol solution was 100 mg/L. The amount of H2O2 added was the stoichiometric amount of H2O2 required for the total oxidation of phenol. Under the irradiation of medium pressure light (300 W) phenol was mineralized within 1 h in the presence of Fe 2+/zeolite 13X. The COD removal rate was enhanced in the presence of Fe 2+/zeolite 13X compared to that of Fe 2+/silica gel or Fe 2+/Al2O3. Analogous homogenous photo-Fenton reaction with equivalent Fe 2+ was also carried out to evaluate the catalysis efficiency of Fe 2+/zeolite 13X. Results showed that the COD removal rate was near to that of homogeneous Fenton, while heterogeneous Fe 2+/zeolite 13X catalyst could be recycled.HE Feng, SHEN Xue-you, LEI Le-cheng * (Department of Environmental Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China.) 2003Journal of Environmental Sciences2003,15,3:13
Clustering-based hyperspectral band selection using sparse nonnegative matrix factorization显示文摘Hyperspectral imagery generally contains a very large amount of data due to hundreds of spectral bands.Band selection is often applied firstly to reduce computational cost and facilitate subsequent tasks such as land-cover classification and higher level image analysis. In this paper,we propose a new band selection algorithm using sparse nonnegative matrix factorization (sparse NMF).Though acting as a clustering method for band selection, sparse NMF need not consider the distance metric between different spectral bands, which is often the key step for most common clustering-based band selection methods.By imposing sparsity on the coefficient matrix, the bands' clustering assignments can be easily indicated through the largest entry in each column of the matrix.Experimental results showed that sparse NMF provides considerable insight into the clustering-based band selection problem and the selected bands are good for land-cover classification.Ji-ming LI 1,2,Yun-tao QIAN 1 (1 School of Computer Science and Technology,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China) (2 Zhejiang Police College,Hangzhou 310053,China) 2011Journal of Zhejiang University-Science C(Computers and Electronics)2011,12,7:12

Mechanochemical decomposition of pentachlorophenol by ball milling显示文摘The mechanochemical dechlorination of pentachlorophenol (PCP) was studied using CaO and SiO2 powder as additives. The effects of the milling time and additives on the dechlorination rate were investigated. The resulting product was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and ion chromatography (IC). It is found that grinding operation could dechlorinate PCP, with the formation of inorganic chloride and amorphous carbon. The addition of quartz to the grinding mixture facilitated dechlorination. On the basis of the experimental results, the decomposition mechanism was proposed. Decomposition predominantly proceeds through rupture of C-Cl bond in PCP molecule, followed by the formation of inorganic chlorides.WEI Yinglei, YAN Jianhua, LU Shengyong, LI XiaodongState Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China. 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,12:11
EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON HIGH-SPEED CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS WITH DIFFERENT IMPELLERS显示文摘The experimental study is carded out on high-speed centrifugal pumps with three different impellers. The ex-perimental results and analysis show that high-speed centrifugal pumps with a closed complex impeller can achieve thehighest efficiency and the lowest head coefficient followed by those with half-open impeller and open-impeller, and canobtain much easily stable head-capacity characrastic curve, while those with a half-open complex impeller can't. Thecharacteristic curve with a open impeller is almost constant horizontal line before dropping sharply. The results also showthat the axial clearance between pump casing and impeller can influence greatly on the performance of centrifugal pumps.Zhu Zuchao Chen YingState Key Laboratory of Fluid Power Transmission and Control, Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027, ChinaHuang Dunhui Jin Qingming Cangnan Special Pumps Co.Ltd of Zhejiang Province 2002Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2002,15,4:10
FLUID FLOW IN ROTATING HELICAL SQUARE DUCTS显示文摘A numerical study is made for a fully developed laminar flow in rotating helical pipes. Due to the rotation, the Coriolis force can also contribute to the secondary flow. The interaction between rotation, torsion, and curvature complicates the flow characteristics. The effects of rotation and torsion on the flow transitions are studied in details. The results show that there are obvious differences between the flow in rotating ducts and in helical ducts without rotation. Certain hitherto unknown flow patterns are found. The effects of rotation and torsion on the friction factor are also examined. Present results show the characteristics of the fluid flow in rotating helical square ducts.Chen Hua-jun, Zhang Ben-zhao, Zhang Jin-suo Department of Mechanics, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China, 2003Journal of Hydrodynamics2003,15,3:10
